As a loyal Home Depot customer who's spent over $10,000 in the past year, I'm absolutely disgusted by the treatment I received during my most recent visit. At the self checkout, a staff member approached me unprompted and proceeded to scan every single item before I even got a chance to scan one item, treating me like a criminal. I wasn't asking for help, but this employee felt the need to micromanage my purchase, while completely ignoring the other customers around me, some of whom were clearly waiting for assistance. Not to mention he stood right there while we paid and even instructed us (to put in our Home Depot card into the machine, who needs that much help? )and then walked away once payment was rendered. This is beyond frustrating. It felt discriminatory and downright disrespectful. To top it off, I spent $300 on plants during this trip, plus my husband purchased drywall. The fact that I was treated this way is infuriating. It's even more insulting when I know there are frequent instances at this same location where people leave without paying, yet paying customers like myself are subjected to this appalling level of scrutiny. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and completely undermines any loyalty I've had to this company. So Today I needed to purchase some electrical & gorilla tape. I enjoy coming into Home Depot as the majority of the staff are friendly and helpful. Self checkout use to be just that, YOU scanned and paid for your items yourself. It seems this has changed as now employees stands guard by the self checkout area and assist you. The problem with this is the small talk they feel they need to make. I asked the older woman employee that assisted me if I could have the bathroom code, as I needed to use it. She proceeded to tell me how older women always need to go! Wow. I replied you're correct, we menopausal women indeed use it more often, I know you must understand that. I got a Ryobi 18V telescoping Vortex scrubber which I find really great for not only my car washing but excellent for cleaning the tiles in my shower. You get the medium grade bristle in the box but you can also get the heavier and the finer scrubbers for the job at hand. I'm very impressed with it and recommend it for anyone looking for something that can clean the car better than any car wash. No more scrubbing the tile by hand either. read more

I am a novice when it comes to gardening. I've never had a green thumb. I decided to fix up my house with plants and bushes and shrubs and ground covering. I went to the Home Depot nursery and the employees were so nice and helpful, took their time to explain the different kinds of bushes and plants and shrubs and flowers to me, how they would look, how they would spread, how fast they would grow etc. They showed me the plant food and the citrus food that I needed to bring my yard to life. I was in and out in no time. The line to check out was super short. I was also surprised to see that they rent trucks. That is such a cool idea for people like me that don't own trucks large enough to haul/move things. read more

Not the HD I usually frequent, but I was in the neighborhood and have a $100 gift card burning a hole in my pocket. We recently had to remove the hundred year old redwood in our backyard and it's left that corner of the yard looking really sad and bare. I found Aptos Blue redwoods at this HD for forty something apiece. They're in five gallon buckets, so they're a decent size. They also had Pigmy Date Palms for $15.98. I need two or three of them to go next to my deck. All plants that I looked at appeared to be healthy and green. Hmmmm...what to do?! read more

This is the Home Depot you go to if you need to get things done. If you are a contractor or have some serious home project this will be your best bet. You can find your carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and gardening supplies here. I do agree with most of the comments about knowing what you need. You can't go in there looking for a 1/2 in. 90 degree PVC elbow and simply ask where are the white pipe thingies that bend like that ( hand gesture). You may get lucky or end up with the wrong size or wrong item entirely. However, in my opinion I have to say this is one of the Home Depots with the most knowledgable staff members. You have to ask the right questions and you have to talk to the correct department. I have been a customer of this home depot for 11 years. This is hands down the Home Depot I go to 1st. read more

I ordered online and opted for curbside pickup. Just wow. After checking in, I waited in my car for about 15 minutes. I even called to see if someone could come out but the phone just kept ringing. So I finally got out of my car and just walked into the store where the pickup/return area is. It was a MESS. There were only two cashiers-a long line of frustrated customers and other random employees just walking by casually as if they didn't see anything weird. Then, I was able to flag down a guy who wasn't in that customer service/pickup department and he was nice enough to try and help. He simply asked the guy in the hat who is doing pickup orders (obviously no one) and the guy in the hat yelled so nasty "IM DOING IT RIGHT NOW!" Right in front of me like nothing. It was so disgusting seeing that. It made me really upset to see someone be bullied by a POS co worker. After a while he finally brought out my order and omg. The wooden plant holder I ordered was literally broken, dirty and had bird poop all over it. I was so confused and upset that i didn't get a pic I was just like really..the guy felt bad and agreed they shouldn't be selling that. So, he went back and tried to find another. At this point I've been waiting 30 mins-for a curbside pickup order. The guy from the other department that was helping me grabbed an assistant manager to help process a refund for that damaged plant stand and at that point I was able to let him know it was not cool that the guy in the hat yelled at the other guy who was trying to help me. He told me the manager wasn't even there. It figures. When places are this disorganized and chaotic it's usually because of lack of management. I just feel really bad for the employees who are trying their best. This place needs major help from corporate. Hopefully the guy in the hat got fired or at least written up for being so hostile and unprofessional. read more

Unfortunately, Home Depot has elected to cut back on their staff and forgotten about even basic customer service. They appear so short handed, employees appear stressed or rude -- and there is no one available to answer questions. The ones who do interact with you act like they are herding cattle. Many staff at cashier area in particular are young adults with attitudes. They yell out "anyone paying with a card over here" then motion like they are directing traffic. You get to the register and learn it's a self checkout. The machine malfunctions and requires a clerk; there are no clerks! So, one from another side yells over saying they will be right over. Next thing you know they are helping a new customer while you are left standing there. The line clerk who rudely barks at customers is standing there, but not offering help. You move to a different self checkout and then the barking person comes finally to assist and mumbles something about how to do it (like the customer should know?!?) --making this a perfect scene for a Sarah Cooper Tik Tok impersonation. SOOOOO....If by chance you can't make it over to Fresno Ag or Ace Hardware or our local paint store, be prepared to experience these things. "Pay with a card" literally means self checkout. No help. On another note, the store is untidy and dirty. read more

I checked this store's online inventory looking for an audio cable, which they had in stock. I found the item right away, but it was secured with a wire that needed an employee to unlock. After speaking to three different Home Depot employees who called for assistance, no one ever came after I waited for over 20 minutes. I decided to leave the store and droved up the street to an office supply store in hope that they might have my cable in stock. They did indeed have what I needed and I was in and checked out in about 10 minutes total. The customer service at this Home Depot, #663 at 3272 W Shaw Ave Fresno, CA 93711 was not a good experience. My item was under $6 and was locked with a wire, while an item next to it was way more expensive in same size packaging and had no type of security. If this store chooses to secure high cost items which makes sense, why do they not have staff to assist customers who want to purchase these items. I will take my business elsewhere as I would rather spend a little more money and have good customer service and not waste my time. read more
