Great location and friendly staff, and One employee that has exceeded expectations and that should be training all new employees is the young man named "Josh" - More than once, Josh has been the only person that has helped us cut some wood. Even though, majority of employees should be trained on the wood cutting machine - "Josh" is the only that responds to call for assistance by us and several other customers. And our one suggestion is that they need an easier way for customers to locate help/ or call from the aisles when needing help. And employees need to be evaluated on how often they respond and satisfactorily help customers in need. read more

Putman Blvd., Glastonbury/East Hartford CT Home Depot. Terrible check out. Staff in check out line didn't know what they were doing and just standing there. The lines didn't move. Large wood strips and dry wall customer blocking the whole line had a few items and the employer couldn't check them out, didn't know what she was doing. The bar codes were plain and simple. It's unsafe and a fire hazard to have large items blocking the isles when the isle is not wide enough to hold it and let customers get through.They are blocking the exit. On the other side was a couple with a small dog and the another employee kept petting the dog and it was jumping on her and the staff is more interested in the dog than in doing their job. Who is the responsible for the dog, the store or the dog owner. The employee was giving more attention to the dog instead of making sure the customers were being taken care of. Clueless staff. The lines are too close when you are trying to check out large items. No supervisor. This was after 7:00 PM at night. Maybe the day staff is more competent. Add more self check out lines because what you have a customer gets boxed in or have a self check out for large items only. Didn't seem like any of the staff knew what they were doing. read more

Come here from time to time. This store is HUGE. Prices are more than Nh... but so is everything so I don't really complain. Nothing *crazy* to state.... It's Home Depot not a nightclub but the plants always seem healthy. Last time I was here there was a confrontation between the police and an Asian gentlemen. I watched for awhile and nothing spectacular came of it. Kinda would say that's the *vibe* for this store. One other time this lady who worked here was rude... I was here right at opening and went to walk in and boy she shut those doors quick. Idk why they were unlocked but I didn't unlock them and thus was a little taken again. They excelled in customer service and inventory. I needed a small section of shelving to replace the warped and bowed pressboard shelf that came with our house. I measured up what we needed, found a suitable replacement (Medium Density Fiberboard) and asked one of their sales associates to cut it to size for me, No problem -zip, zip, zip and it was done. As part of our remodeling initiative we needed a new medicine cabinet, shower light, and some high powered light bulbs for the living room lamps. We were very impressed by the quantity and selection they had on the shelves and we ended up getting everything we wanted. Home Depots are not all alike, We've previously visited their locations in West Hartford, Bloomfield, Torrington, and Southington. And I will look you right in the eye and tell you the Glastonbury store was the very best Home Depot we've ever seen. read more

I've been going to Home Depot in Glastonbury for quite some time. I even worked there before the pandemic started, up until October. So now I can safely review Home Depot without it being a conflict of interest. I'm not going to comment on why I left there, however, after you read my review you may be able to figure it out. This most recent visit was to purchase paint, primer, and all of the necessities to paint my walls. I was happy to see a friendly, familiar face at the paint counter. She was very knowledgeable about paint, what I would need and the tools to get the job done. Here's the problem with my most recent visit and multiple visits before that. Staff standing around, self check out mobbed and lines of people, and no registers open. I do love Home Depot, and I will continue to go there, however they really need to step their customer service game up and figure out how to keep the customers from getting frustrated. Waiting around to pay for my items took almost longer than getting all of my paint supplies. read more

I love this location, it's definitely one of the nicest around. My friend used to work at this one in high school so I admit I'm a bit biased, but as an adult, I purposely choose this location whenever I need flowers or something for a project. This past weekend I went to stock up on fall florals and bought a ton of mums. Their selection is always good and I love where their garden center is located in relation to the rest of the store. Fun Fact: The town of Glastonbury specifically asked for this location to brick cause they're #boujee. It's the only Home Depot around that's brick!! read more

DO NOT HIRE A CONTRACTOR THROUGH THIS HOME DEPOT! We were quoted an exorbitant price for 2 shower installs with the justification that we get a "lifetime warranty through the Home Depot". The contractor (Total Bath Systems) never sent it (its been 2 years now). I finally managed to escalate through Home Depot corporate who informed me that Home Depot does NOT offer any such warranties! They put me in touch with Albert Neidt, a district manager, who sided with the contractor and was okay with the contractor saying we get a lifetime warranty, even though Home Depot does not offer that. So they are letting their contractors upcharge for something that doesn't exist because they get a bigger cut on the back-end. Buy goods and services elsewhere. I have had two horrible experiences with home depot on two different projects. They recently damaged a wire on my property and left it splayed and live on my driveway. They caused a dangerous situation and refused to rectify or take responsibility. The second incident happened when the delivery driver refused to install an appliance (installation had been paid for) because "he forgot his tools" I was forced to reschedule, losing another day of work. Your store completely dropped the ball with this one. This Home Depot has been great up until the past few months. The employees have always been nice but the inventory has major issues. We purchased a brand new Ryobi edger and when we got it home, it was clearly used. We were really disappointed since we had to drive back to get an exchange. The employee who took care of us was amazing and didn't give us any issues - he was genuinely concerned. The only odd thing was how he blatantly blamed the younger, newer coworkers at the store. I just sorta laughed it off and asked if I could open the new box since I didnt want to take any chance of that being a "new" yet used item. Luckily it was fine but ALWAYS check your items from this place. Will start going somewhere else for tools and larger purchases most likely. read more

I got a good price on a washing machine. They should have said they can't guarantee I will ever recieve it. I got my fourth robocall the day before date promised to inform me not going to happen. This store has an average of 2 1/2 stars on Yelp. I think that's being kind. I gave it one but if I could give it zero, I would. Now there are some delightful employees but my main issue is a.) it's always dirty and in a state of disarray. B) Good luck getting a lumber cart. They're all reserved with go backs and buy online orders so if you're looking for lumber (like I frequently am) you're screwed. c) leadership in this store is pitiful. They don't care about the customer based on interactions I've had with them as well as see a & c above. They like to blame covid and people not willing to work but there's no pride in this store. This is my husbands go-to, quickie, drop-in hardware store. If he wants voluminous knowledge, he heads over to Katz on Main Street. If he needs a tub of spackle or a few lightbulbs, he comes here. The staff are pretty friendly, and try to be helpful. They do not, however, have 25-30 years of practical experience to back up their advice. I again point you to Katz Ace Hardware for that type of help. As far as Home Depots go, this is pretty well organized. I think because it is a smaller store and it's easier to manage. The garden center is tiny! I think we've bought only a couple of plants here over the years and then decided to just stick with the local landscape centers (like Scotts or Dondero). The key with shopping in this store is to understand that this is a big box store. Prices are pretty good, but selection can be limited or conversely, overwhelming. It can also be frustrating trying to find things. I can't place why, but between Home Depot and Lowes, Lowes is usually better organized and better lit. Not my favorite for a hardware store, but OK if you're in the area and in a rush. read more

I'm rather frustrated with this store, my 1 star is based on mainly costumer service. Lately I've been coming here a lot due to several projects while updating my home. I've ordered a variety of products online and in store. Staff has been helpful as to placing the orders and were fairly knowledgeable about the products. I've recently spent over 10G on flooring, bath products, lighting, doors etc? After doing much research I've put my fate in ordering Laminate flooring. This particular laminate had very good reviews online when it came to the quality of the product going back to a year with heavy wear and tear. After much consideration and the sample of the product I've felt comfortable ordering a large amount. The store display have showed a two tone maple look In a natural color palette which was exactly what I wanted. The name of the laminate is Maple Grove Natural, the sample I've gotten held up really well to water and scratches. It is a high gloss finish that is glam. When my laminate showed up I was excited to quickly open the first box and to my surprise there was a heavily weathered old world looking laminate with deep black scratches across the entire board in a dark weathered wood look. There are 8 boards per box. 4 of the boards were this heavily beat up printed board 3 boards in an evenly cherry looking finish and 1 single board of the actual two tone maple (cream and brown) finish which is what's on display at the store and matches the sample board. That's 1 out of 8. Now with many two tone type laminate it's expected to have different printed boards that supposed to blend together. After trying to google search already installed laminate floors in this exact style, I came to the conclusion that somebody clearly just put these boards in wrong and there are 3 entirely different laminate boards in the box. I asked my contractor to look into this and try to see if its even blend able and that if I'm right, perhaps we received the wrong laminate. I've also brought this to the store and the employee in the flooring section agreed with me that it appears as the boxes contain 3 entirely different boards that look nothing like the display so I should have no problem returning this and choosing something different. Home Depot would honor this mistake. My husband tried to return the boards and talk to the employees at the flooring department who all agreed this should be taken back but ultimately it's the managers decision. She unfortunately fought my husband tooth and nail on this and said that we are wrong and the only way she will take them back is at a 15% restocking fee and acted as though she was doing us a favor. At 2000sqft that's a big loss for us. The way we see it as this is false advertising based on the display that shows a completely different board than what you will be getting. There is nothing Wrong with scraped and old world looking boards if that is the look you are going for, but clearly when you want a shiny maple style you would have to return this. I guess its a great way of making money for Home Depot at that 15%. I'm very disappointed in the way we were treated specially considering all the money we have spent in the past month here alone. As our 1000sqft of carpet has been on back order we decided to cancel that too and take our $$$ elsewhere. Lowes here I come. read more

Terrible customer service at this location. I bought a couple of wrong pieces for my toilet. So I was in the plumbing section looking for some help no one around waiting few minutes. Some one walk into my isle they say they don't have any idea about plumbing and walked away. I walked to registers. I asked one Of the greeters if I could get some help in the plumbing. I don't usually rave about Home Depot, and they probably don't deserve it most of the time, but they earned five stars this trip. I asked for help at the door, and got door-to-door service from one of the employees, including help finding a missing part for one of the items that I was buying. He even checked out my order. He probably saved me about half an hour of running around the store, and was professional and courteous the entire time. All in all a great experience. I can't believe how horrible the service is here. I walked in with my 70 year old mother and asked for help finding a 10 foot ladder. 2 men in their early 20s acted like they couldn't be bothered. One reluctantly brought us to the section, took one off the wall and just handed it to us. We were struggling to carry it ourselves and he simply walked behind us watching us without offering help. My fiance and I just moved into a brand new house last fall so we have many spring projects lined up. Today we went into Glastonbury Home Depot planning to spend quite a bit of money. Being that we are first time home-owners we aren't quite handy so we brought along my fiance's parents to help. First we were looking at the patio sets. We found a great one, and the three sales associates that were near us were more than willing to get us a flat cart, a tape measure so that we could make sure it will fit on our deck, and to lift the boxes onto the cart. They also held our patio set at the front while we continued to shop. We then headed into the gardening center where Kelly was extremely helpful and knowledgable. He knew exactly what seed we should get for the front yard and which seed we should get for the back yard based on sun exposure. Our grass was planted, but never fully grew last fall so we weren't really sure how to tackle the seeding. Kelly continued to ask us questions so that he could help us choose the best seed for us. Then we looked at stain for our back deck. Frank in paints was helpful as well. He helped us decide which stain would look best, which cans to bring to the mixer, and which brushes to use. After the paint section, we went to plumbing. Since we have a bit of a ponding in a few places in our yard, my fiance and his father did a little research and drew a diagram of our land. Dave knew exactly what we were planning to do. He had done a similar job himself so he offered suggestions and ideas. He seems to have made the job much cheaper and easier than anticipated. Very, very, very knowledgable! Upon checkout, we encountered Dave G. at customer service. He helped us load up the bed of the pickup truck to be able to fit everything. He helped us secure our items so that they would make it home safely. All in all, we had a fabulous experience today at Home Depot in Glastonbury. In the last 6 months we have been doing many projects and this was the best experience we've ever had at Home Depot. Everybody was willing to help us, and if they weren't able to then they had no problems finding someone who could. We will definitely be giving the Glastonbury Home Depot more business! read more
