Physically went inside this specific store to purchase two exterior doors. Found what was necessary to meet my need to stay on budget. Saving up did take a bunch of minutes (I'm retired). Paid via debit (warrants my purchase with my bank). Picked a will call, 9am, Friday 13 September 2024. NOTE: 2 Doors were present in the back of the store at this location upon departure. In three (3) days at this store. My contractor & fiancé was greeted by my 2/2 sticker but only ONE door. But how can that be? Idk. Was a love note sent? Mb a "Hey Amy, one of your doors...well, it's not here. We messed up & lost it. We are very sorry. To fix our goof in this situation, we have ordered the replacement on us. Your replacement door is expected to arrive on...XX/XX/XXXX. However in the event this doesn't meet your expectations, we will be happy to work with you to restore your faith. As our motto states, "How doers get more done". We appreciate your patience with us. We strive to maintain exceptional customer service. In the event you need to reach out, please contact so in so..." NOPE. But why? IDK? Let's find out together, shall we? As of the writing of this review, an in person attempt was done this afternoon. Nothing was done as told to two individuals in person last Friday. I was told per records this afternoon that my second door was in aisle 20. It was not. Asked to speak to the store manager. He was in a "meeting"'. I remember that excuse & may have used it once upon a time myself. Received a phone call from a female (was a lie told to my face earlier?!?) She didn't sound like a person named Mr. Shawn Scott (@he's in a meeting..). So...why do I feel as if I'm being ghosted by Home Depot & Mr. Shawn Scott, Store Manager & as of 6:34pm almost a week has past effective tomorrow & poof...next sucker?!? Who monitors a retailer in the state of Indiana when a customer has to go online to ask questions about bought things are & why hasn't anything been done by said business? Does this seem normal or is it a normal business practice by this particular store, Home Depot in Greenwood Indiana USA?!? Home Depot loses my second door in three days yet has no record with any reasonable resolution whatsoever. Okay??? . I'm a bit confused on how I have the sticker that says 2/2 but 1/2 is MIA? I'm a former income tax accountant & this math, simply doesn't make any logical commons sense. Is this a my issue or a lack of how a retailer is NOT supposed to lose their own customer's paid tangible items before paid things gets picked up? How is it possible that a store loses paid things from the back to the front of its own store in Center Grove (Greenwood IN USA) in three days? Without any notification to the customer or have proof of a resolution. Absolutely no quality assurance perimeters are in place at the Home Depot in Greenwood IN USA. Makes me wonder what the heck is going on at this store?!? I ask this rhetorical question from a refund transaction attempt two days prior of this purchase. I was shorted on a refund in my return. It took almost an hour to get it fixed after going back inside to retrieve the money Home Depot kept. Seems odd IMHO. Is this legal? Based on my personal experience within the last 14 days, this place messed up a refund & kept my item. This is abundantly unprofessional on so many levels it makes no sense. I must wonder what the folks at corporate (I think still in GA?!?) will say about my concerns & questions. Home Depot's investors are still financial institutions, yes? Bought a washer with a warranty. Warning!!!! They don't help at all getting a repair person to come out. Warranty is a waste of money!! They are only interested in selling the machine but customer service has alot to be desired if the machine stops working. Talked to the store manager JJ and he basically said its between me and Allstate for warranty work. Not good customer service. Warranty place is giving me the run around not sending anyone out to look at it. I wonder how businesses stay open with service like this. Im in need of new appliances for my home. I normally do not review large chain establishments, but I am making an exception in this case because my experiences with them have been so good. I am a frequent flier here and should have my own parking spot by now. Every time I visit here the place is so clean and the employees here are so helpful and knowledgeable. Today for example, I was in an aisle looking at water heaters and 4 employees stopped as they were walking by and asked me if I needed any help. Now days that does not happen much. As an added bonus they will cut your wood for you to fit in your vehicle and there is always a lot of employees around. During my frequent visits I sometime have to return things. They have one of the most hassle free return policies that I have experienced. And the e-receipts make returning stuff that much easier. They have an awesome pick up system if you can plan ahead and do not want to come into the store and provide masks and hand sanitizer for customers that need them. My kids like the racing car shopping cart and it keeps them entertained while I shop. I really love this place and trust me a have a large sample size to come to my decision about this place. read more

This is my third strike out at this particular Home Depot so I guess it's time to review but I do not like doing negative reviews. When I lived in Tucson, Home Depot worked for me all the time. I was a regular customer purchasing all kinds of home supplies. But back home in Indiana it just hasn't worked out for me. I just can't find what I'm looking for or they do not carry the products I need in their inventory. Today I was wanting to buy two items. A Black & Decker weed eater or trimmer/edger which their web site they had but in their store there were only two brands neither of which was B&D. One brand I never heard of or could I pronounce the name, the other brand, Milwaukee, was all cordless power tools. I have a cordless blower and they do not have enough power because they try too much to save energy to make the power pack last longer. I have two power packs and together they are barely enough to get the job done. I can't imagine using a cordless trimmer that would require even more power than a blower. In addition, every thing was locked up so I would have had to find an employee, with the key, to unlock them so I could put one in a box in a basket to buy. Not very customer friendly. This is not the case with their main competition in Mooresville, where there are five different brands and nothing is locked up. The other item I was looking for was a small barn made of wood, not metal or plastic. They had wood barns but they were too big and too expensive for my fixed income budget. I did find a 6ft by 5 ft shed for $799, but it was made of resin (plastic) and would not fit my needs. I'm going to be cutting holes in it for a pet door and making other modifications so I need wood to add shelving, etc. read more

When I lived in Greenwood, I used to frequent this place often. But now that I live elsewhere, I was glad to see that the place has maintained the quality that used to draw me in. The aisles are clean and orderly and generally, are labeled to assist you. However, I didn't see anything specifically called "shelving", so I took a guess and headed back to the interior lumber area. Success! I like shopping in the digital age, because when I found a board I thought ideal for my new shelf, it didn't have a label on it. So, I simply took a photo of the bin label and had it handy at checkout. Easy peasy! They also measured the board since it was priced by the linear foot. Also easy! I grabbed some support brackets from the facing aisle of the wood and was pleased that the man who worked the checkout counter was pleasant and efficient. It looked like there was plenty of staff on the floor as well as at the customer service and checkouts. I hate going to some hardware stores where you can't find anyone to help. Home Depot took $16,495 of my money, set me up with a contractor and gave the contractor complete control over the project. Was told when I wrote the check to expect to be completed in 4 weeks. Came out to measure and was told 8 weeks. Contractor is weeks behind that schedule. does not show up when they say they are going to. Home Depot can do nothing for me. If you need extended warranty, do NOT buy it through Home Depot. We purchased the 5-Year extended warranty on our LG Washer and have had NOTHING but problems. Our washer has been down for 2 months now and I've had to call them 6 times to TRY and get it serviced. NO ONE HAS BEEN TO MY HOME YET TO EVEN TROUBLESHOOT THE WASHER. I paid for this service and after everything you've put us through, THAT is your response? Not to mention, you can barely understand the people on the other end of the line. On the off chance you do happen to find someone to perform something called "Best Interpretation of English, they speak to you like you're a stupid hooker. I normally charge $2.99 a minute for those conversations, buddy. Anyway... at least it just my washing machine being out of commission for 2 months. Good thing it's not something like NOT being able to wash my husband's SKID MARK UNDERWEAR piling up in the corner affecting our day to day life in our adult size litter box happening in my dining room!!!! Never had a problem with this location. Since they're the closest big hardware store to us (the closest Lowe's being either in Franklin or by the mall - no thank you) we go here more often than maybe I'd like. It also doesn't help that I'm *not* handy, therefore what an experienced person can do in one trip I end up doing in two or three after I inevitably screw something up. But I digress, this review is about the store and not my ineptitude. Always well stocked and full of courteous employees who are willing to walk me through things and help me out without making me feel stupid - something I greatly appreciate. They have classes as well which I'd like to attend once I start doing some other projects around the house. Prices are a little iffy sometimes, so just make sure you shop around before you buy and see if it really is worth the trip over to Lowe's, but I usually find the difference to be negligible. read more

I love this location. This store is great in the spring when you are getting ready to plant a garden. They have a lot of stock and variety. They had some great deals on large pots earlier this year. This store is just a great place to look around and I go here before Menards, but I tend to look at Lowes first as that's my preferred before the big 3. I like their parking lot and the easy route to get in and out. If you've ever been to the Southport store, you realize Home Depot is the very last store along the strip and there is only one way to get in and out. A major design flaw there, but the Greenwood location is perfect where it is! read more

Just wanted to leave a message here in hopes it gets to an authoritative figure. My boyfriend and I received pretty bad customer service from Kathryn in the paint department this morning. We asked her a quick, simple question about the paint samples in which she stopped, looked around as if she was looking for a bird in the sky (sarcastically), and then replied back with a snarky comment which wasn't warranted or amusing at all. We didn't find it funny and we're pretty easy going people but that honestly ticked me off. I think she tried to redeem herself by picking a few "popular" paint samples to look at after that but in short, we won't be visiting again. I will add though, the check out woman @ the front (didn't get her name) was a very nice lady. read more

My husband and I just wanted to give KEVIN at guest services a huge shout out! Tonight we came and picked up our huge 3 piece shower kit and Kevin helped in this terrible 20 degree weather. Then when I asked if we could confirm that the shower doors were correct he happily took them back inside and cut the box open for us so we could double check. I don't know why I doubted it, everything was perfect! Prior to that we had 2 other employees help us find all of the materials we needed to tile our bathroom. Thank you so much! What a shit show! Went there to buy lumber today around 1:00. ALL of the lumber was blocked by pallets full of doors. Couldn't get to any of the lumber i needed (18 - 2x8x12). An employee moved one of the pallets in from of the lumber i needed, but left the remaining 8 of the 12 feet covered by these pallets. I struggled for about 20 minutes to load my cart while the employees played around with the doors. After loading my cart i realized that i could not get back towards checkout as the aisle was completely blocked. I had to go 4 aisles over before i could get a path to the checkout, but still could barely get through and struggled for about 10 minutes to make the turn to get moving towards the checkout...all while the checkout clerk sat and stared at me as i struggled. When i finally got to the checkout, i asked to speak to a manager about this ridiculousness, 3 managers were called, all 3 refused to come to speak to me. What a horrible experience, i will never go there again. read more

We had 3 different employees help us out in 3 different departments. Everyone was very helpful and was able to help us find the items we were looking for. Store was very clean for a home improvement store. Was there to pick up an item we ordered on line that arrived 4 days before they told us it would be there. Utilized the self checkout area and they had the items we picked up at the store scanned before we got to the register. It was online through homedepot.com for 179.00, but even after showing the employee the website, I was still told that they would not honor the online price..... FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!! I can buy this unit online and pick it up at this store for 179.00 but if you drive to the store to buy it you pay 199.00. How on earth does this make any sense? I waited 10 minutes on line as 5 employees stood next to us chatting. One finally took their friend at the end of the line with the Chocolate Lab to the self checkout. Management here clearly doesn't consider checkout experience important enough to make sure there are enough lanes open. 3 weeks no call back, really they charge me to install tile, it started coming up the day installed, and I can't get a call back. UPDATE, HOME DEPOT ASKED ME TO CONTACT THEM ABOUT THE LISTED ISSUES, I DID CONTACT THEM,GAVE THEM SEVERAL WAYS TO CONTACT ME AND THEY NEVER CONTACTED BE BACK. I HAVE SPENT MY LAST $ THERE. ORIGINAL POST: We hired Home Depot to install tile floors in both bathrooms. We should have known better after they did the estimate wrong and had to remeasure 3times. The installer was nice but the quality of work was unacceptable. It started with one of the tile installers not showing up, a 2 day install took 3days. I work out of town, when I got home I had the following issues; my carpet and wood floor had thin set tracked on a path from the garage to both bathrooms, my toilet was leaking and damaged the ceiling below, tile was set with a 1/4 variance in height leaving un even floors, grout was missing is several areas, the transition areas where the carpet meets the tile is uneven and ragged. I called and asked the installer to come out last Monday the 4/4/16 at 10:30, I realized by noon I was on my own and started the repairs on my own. I had to get a larger wax ring and re set the toilets and replace the supply hose, paint the ceiling in the kitchen to hide the water spot, re grout the missing areas. (When I finished I found a few areas that the grout is crumbling, not sure what I'm going to do about that) then I worked until 1:00am on the 5th shampooing the carpet and cleaning today wood floors. I have to get up at 4:30 am to drive to work in Chicago area, so no seep for me on Monday night. I then get an email asking to let them know what issues I had so we could schedule a service call? I called and spoke to the store rep 2 times explaining the issue and drove over to the store to meet in person. I sent an email message back explaining the issues I had with the store installation, and a request for a partial refund as I spent considerable time fixing the installed tile and plumbing when the installer blew off Monday's appointment. We also had 45 square feet of tile sent to do the tub area with the delivered order, we had already purchased the same material and took it home, the extra tile is gone, no explanation, no refund . I feel like I paid a premium for very poor service, had material missing that I intended to return and was left holding the bag to finish the job myself. I have spent Tens of thousands dollars at Home Depot while building and maintaining my house over the last 18 years, if the do not resolve this issue to my satisfaction this will be the last money spent at any Home Depot.
