TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! After waiting over 1 hour for an employee to get 2 windows down I was given a discount for waiting so long he wrote it off as damaged item. Once I get the windows home ready to put in I discover there is no screen for one. The store REFUSED to correct the situation saying I was given a discount...FOR WAITING AN HOUR not for a missing screen. I was told to remove the windows and return them, then purchase 2 new windows at full price. WHAT??!!?!! TERRIBLE STORE! We went to go see the carpet at the flooring department and Ray Avila, the flooring specialist was excellent. He took his time to find the product of carpet we needed for a quote and installation. WE ARE STILl working to get the installation set up, but he sent us samples to see what we like. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and tentative to our needs. We were in good hands with him. Ray has been patient and knows what he is doing and has a promotion at another home depot as merchandise specialist, You can tell he is great at what he does. I will clean my garden and put some vase and plant on there. So I ask my brother to come with me and help me to bought the things that I need. He has no class that's why I ask him a favor. Gladly he says yes. Before we came here we eat first our breakfast. After that we go to this location. We park our car easily since their parking was big and spacious and there are only few cars in there. When we enter my brother grab a cart and we directly went to the garden equipment area. He helps me to put the things that I choose in the cart. After I chose those we went to the vase area. I bought a different kind and size of pot. It will so good and pretty to put in my garden. I came in today to the local Home Depot, walked up to THE RUDEST CASHIER at the service desk, she was talking to another worker her name badge was not present , after 10minutes of a conversation between her and another worker, she then turned to me after ignoring me for 10minutes. And asked me if I needed something, I then told her to make sure she was finished with her conversation w/the other employee since it was more important then taking care of customers! I asked the rude IGNORANT UNPROFESSIONAL CASHIER what her name was and she said LIZ! At the Home depot in Hammond, IN. Came back later to rent a carpet cleaner and the same IGNORANT Girl was still there Liz if that is even her name. -Again no visible name badge! She again ignored me when I walked up to get this girls attention I waved my hand another cashier promptly asked if I needed anything & I asked her to call a manager, the manager came over her name was Sandi and said she would speak w/ rude ignorant cashier's supervisor. I hope they addresses this behavior because this is UNACCEPTABLE! This looks properly on the company. read more

NO ONE WANTS OR WILL HELP YOU! Lowe's has better service & prices Purchased a washer & dryer, paid for the parts and installation with an employee to make sure we got all the things we need. The washer and dryer was dropped off at my house but it was not installed because we purchased the wrong parts (with the help of a Home Depot employee) It's okay, we respectfully rescheduled the installation. Returned to Home Depot to purchase the correct parts, and NO ONE wanted to help. An elderly lady who works in appliances said to go get help at Customer Service. Customer Service gave us the phone number to appliances. I called appliances while I was in the store and I was transferred to SIX DIFFERENT LINES. I was frustrated, but I remained calm and called Home Depot Customer Care (corporate) and likewise they were no help. Was advices to go into Home Depot to speak with a manager. Asked around Home Depot who could help me find the correct parts and was adviced to go to a plumber but if I do this then Home Depot will not install my machines. Long story short this place sucks, no body wants to help. Managers won't help, corporate won't help. Lowe's has better prices and services. read more

My husband and I bought some cabinets at the Schererville store. We asked for some help getting them into the back of our car. By the time I moved the car closer to the door Richard was there to help us out! He wouldn't let us help him. He lifted all three into the car with ease. He was professional and kind. We didn't feel saying thank you was enough. i wish there were more sales staff on the floor like him. read more

After leaving Schereville store having received poor customer service. We call Hammond store talk to a man in plumbing he was very helpful and friendly. He located the part we needed told use exactly where we would find the part. To bad we had to spend and extra hour and extra gas to get part schereville could not be bothered to find. Long story short, if you are looking to have your door installed with a contractor from Hammond's Home Depot, do not use that store. We have been dealing with the Hammond store in the millwork department for several months now to have proper procedure setup to have our interior door installed and to say the very least, the entire department is disorganized, unprofessional in handling business properly and the communication process is poor. Even worse, is the poor level of caring of doing their job correctly. Contractor Ken from the installation department is even worse. Not only does he does not return phone calls nor one text I sent him (as he states it is ok to text him), he simply is just unprofessional, overall. We had to go as far as to the corporate office for Collette, who is the Customer Care Resolution Expeditor. While Collette was helpful in keeping the line of communication between the installer, Ken, and the millwork department, Scott, Tom and Ron, it does not address the huge lack of communication of the millwork department and the installer, Ken to us personally. Additionally, for two years, we asked Hammond's Home Depot to remove our old home phone number from their records as they kept using that now-extinct number to call me. Every time I left messages or talked to anyone at that store, I gave them my mobile number and they still used my extinct home phone number, unbelievable. To coordinate efforts to have someone come out to do simple basic measurements was beyond ridiculous. To reach a store manager, Dorothy Carter, she has been completely unavailable. I was told several times that a female named Chris was the store manager and just found out today she is only the assistant manager. I am beyond words as to how inefficient our simple request to have an interior door installed has been. Above and beyond ridiculous. read more

So we bought a house that needs a lot of work. We are doing it one project at a time. While we were at Home Depot pricing things out we asked an associate why we shouldn't just go to Menards to get the 11% rebate. They said we could get the exact same one with HD. So we bought A LOT of things with you. Long story short I go through all the work of filling out the rebate forms and adding all my receipts to them and mailing them in. Then I wait...and wait. I received nothing in the mail or my email. So I called in about the status. The associate I spoke with found the error. Apparently one of my last purchases was on the last date or the day after the rebate promotion. However the majority of my items were bought during the time of the promotion. *Also, the purchase I made that was supposedly on the incorrect date is one time where I didn't have to ask for the form the employee just handed it over and told me to fill it out. But I don't even care about that one purchase that was made on the invalid date. The rebate associate I spoke with told me I could still get the 11% back on the purchases I made that were within the time frame of the promotion. Go to Menards. They keep their promises. read more

Purchased a pallet of blacktop in Lansing Illinois. Wanted it delivered down the street. They said it was at their store. Later I found out it was being delivered from Hammond Indiana. Being charged $100 for delivery and a $1.50 more a bag. If I had my way I'd use Meneards instead. . read more

Clean store, helpful staff, and a great variety of tiles! Went to look at some tiles for a house I'm considering purchasing and was blown away at the many different selections this store had. The store by me in calumet doesn't have the same tile selection and the staff are..eh.. would highly recommend coming here instead! read more
