Purchased a OTR GE Microwave. We received a "faulty" one as stated by a Home Depot installer and GE technician. Neither HD or GE will take accountability and replace the microwave. This has been a month long ordeal with no end in sight. Will NEVER purchase appliances from Home Depot in Homer Glen again. They will take your money and not return your calls not take accountability. 0 stars for their store managers and customer service. read more

The young man in the paint department is very helpful, respectful and knows the products. After a disappointing experience at a smaller retailer that deals mainly with paint, i decided to go to Home Depot down the street. I am very happy with the paint and the service. I'm sorry that I don't remember the young man's name, but it was clear he had the respect of repeat customers. Nice to see these days. He has made a repeat customer out of me! read more

Went total of 6 times into store to get door locks keyed to match my front door. I was installing to new locks. Every time I went the employee that did the job was gone. So I sent my wife at 10am and they said that it would be done shortly. That never happened. They called me and said that I needed same brand as my front door locks. So had my wife run back up and buy brand new locks. That was at 1:30 pm they said they couldn't do it the same day because the guy was going home. So I left my brand new locks on the counter with the service desk and they said first thing tomorrow morning. The guy that works on the locks will be here from 9:30 to 6 PM. We will call you when they're ready. they never called me so I called them today. They said oh they're ready. I go there pick them up bring them back. They never even did the job so now I'm beyond furious. Seven times I came up to this Home Depot to get my locks keyed. Very poor customer service and now I sit here and they told me 20 minutes and it's been 45 minutes. I'm dealing with Larry and the woman before that wasn't working today so that's why my locks never got done because nobody communicates. Thank God I checked the locks before I installed my new doors to find out that the keys don't match. Very disappointed and aggravated to say the least.!!! read more

I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher on 5/15/25. It was installed on 5/22/25. The installers managed to flood my kitchen and also had water pouring into the basement. As of today, 6/11, their adjuster has yet to view the damage. On 6/9 the dishwasher stopped working. After failing to fix the problem by phone the customer service rep for Kitchenaid said that the soonest he could get a repair person out would be in nine days. I'm betting that that guy will say that he'll need to order a part and will be back in another week or two. In the meantime we're washing dishes in the sink because they picked up my old LG dishwasher that was still working. read more

Home Depot in Homer Glen is conveniently located off of Bell road and was a great location for a last minute truck rental. I wasn't in a bind, I didn't have to have a truck, renting a truck meant moving something big, if they had a truck to rent great, if they didn't, great. I was ok either way. I knew if they didn't have a truck I'd be shopping in the garden center. I pulled into that parking lot which is quite a bit smaller because of the plants, shrubs and trees displayed that is the size of a small forest. I took a look and didn't see the truck but entered into the store anyway and headed to the tool rental area, I showed my id, they had my insurance info on file but wanted to see it anyway, I signed the agreement stating all sorts of do's and dont's and went on my way. I did what I had to do with the truck, and for whatever reason the inside of the windshield was really dirty, I found it that way and left it that way. I was going to clean it but I didn't. I topped off the gas, brought the truck back stood in line waiting to return it. I had to pay $4.xx for the extra time I used, having to pay that I was glad I didn't clean the inside of the windshield, really Home Depot you couldn't have waived the additional $4.xx? The truck return was quick, I would rent a truck from Home Depot Homer Glen again. read more

Every time I go in there, I have the worst experience with the store manager. Quite a few of the employees don't have answers to some of the questions. It's not their fault. It's just the nature of the beast, but when she enters the conversation or has to do her job and it almost feels as if I did something wrong. She's got one of the worst attitudes for a manager that I have experienced. It's easy to say that we spend tens of thousands of dollars there every year but I'm thinking of taking my money elsewhere, or at least not to that Home Depot. I'm pretty sure it's because the way I look because I've experienced watching her deal with other customers with a smile but when it comes to someone that looks like me, it's almost as if we are a bother to her. Shout out to those managers that treat people with some decency,and that manager Diamond at the Joliet Home Depot. She's so nice and easy to work with. I recommend going out to the Joliet Home Depot and try not to go to the Homer, Glen Home Depot. After 17 years of going to this Home Depot, I can't believe they hired a manager with this much anger and disgust at doing her job and when it comes to interacting with certain people. You know who you are manager just take a step back and try to be respectful and nice to your customers no matter who they are. read more

Pros: HUGE parking lot, easy access off of Bell Road and 143rd Street, well laid-out, great selection, prices, delivery and very clean. Cons: Staff is hit-or-miss when they can be located in sections that need the most help. Need some trim or lumber cut for you? They'll do it...but you have to play hide-and-seek first. Seriously, HD, hire some more people for those areas and we'll be BFFs. read more

Horrible experience, will not go back to this location. GETTING 2*'S BECAUSE OF ALL THE APOLOGIES FROM EVERYONE ELSE BUT THE RUDE EMPLOYEE. The store is neat and things are decently easy to find. The Check out staff was very helpful, but other than that, everyone else not so much. I was in to get some bags of bird seed and one piece of lumber cut. It was an ordeal that lasted 45+ minutes longer than it should have. I have never felt so transparent. I was walking around with a 7 foot long piece of lumber in my cart, and wearing a dress.. I stood out... still, the man who said he would be back to help me, kept walking past me and even left the store to walk a buddy to the parking lot, then went on break. Meanwhile, I was taking 10 planks of wood from 5-10 feet long off of the shelf by myself and then put them all back when I found what I needed. Honestly, I can do a lot on my own.. I just needed someone to cut this ONE PIECE of lumber 3 times. A 7 ft plank, into 4 pieces. I got tired of being ignored, and couldn't get the lumber area to pick up the call the check out kid was making.. so I went into the center isle, and sat on the top of a stack of wood and waited. I was utterly defeated, and was ready to leave. Dave came along, and was happy to help me. I had frustration and defeat in my voice, and I think he heard it. He was an angel. After paying, I went to talk to the store manager. I'm happy that other people feel bad enough to apologize, but they don't need to be sorry or embarrassed. People that can not do their jobs, need to either be retrained or somehow learn to think of others and not themselves. Especially if working in a public/customer service position. I am not helpless, I can manage most things on my own. But to know that I will need to rely on someone, and you are the only available person that can help... and yet you still walk away... That speaks a lot to how you like to treat a lot of other people, and that is not okay. I will not be returning to this location. read more

I purchased a new washing machine less than a month ago. It is loaded with sensors and sofware as most new appliances causing less efficiency. Had trouble with getting it started and called to talk to an appliance person to walk through the sequence that might be affecting this issue. The woman at the front desk patently said there is no one who knows anything about their appliances, they just sell them and go call GE. I called 2 more times and got full mailboxes. Once they have your money, you are dead to them. I did call GE and was passed around like tomorrows snack plate. We are living in a Third World country. Go Amazon! read more

I normally really like this store today I was very irritated. Many of the Home Depot employees were wearing masks, since it is a state requirement. However at least 6 employees either did not have a mask at all or was wearing it around their neck. Some of these same employees were even working within 6 feet of customers. I understand this is an inconvenience however it would be great if we could stop the spread and stop putting our front line leaders lives on the line and get everyone back to work. purchased an exide deep cycle battery for the sump pump backup .. in six months, i had it replace 2 times ... last week, the battery once again, wouldn't hold a charge. i took it back for a replacement, and was told that though the battery had a 1-year warranty, home depot would only do an exchange for 6-months, and i would have to contact the manufacturer (for what?) ... i promptly went across the street to menard's, and purchased an ac delco which has an eighteen-month warranty, and they will exchange it for the full 18-months ... do yourself a favor, and shop at menard's for all of your needs. unlike home depot, menard's stands behind what they sell! read more

I've been used to very helpful and accessible customer service at the Frankfort, IL Home Depot. I recently moved to Homer Glen and what a disappointment. This store really lacks in having staff on the floor, unlike every other HD I've been to. Last weekend, I went there to buy 4 10' sections of drain tile. Two employees were found talking to each other in the store (none in the outside garden area where the drain tile is). Being bulky objects, I asked if they could be rolled and tied up. I was told "there is string available at customer service". I asked, is there not staff that can help with that? "Yes." Seems I needed to be more clear. The short of it is that one of the guys was willing to stop visiting with the other and he came back with me to the area. And started to put 4 10' drain tile pipes in my cart. I told him, it's going to be difficult to juggle these so they don't fall out to get to the checkout area. He looked baffled. I had to tell the guy, can he coil them up and tie them here? I had to show him how to coil them up and I started tying them. (I had to point out that we could use the rope he had cut to get the pipes out of the display.) Then, to top it off, another employee comes by. Does he help? No, he stands there, just watching us. Any man with some manners would have offered to take over what I was doing. He works there, not me. Help your customers! Although I live in Homer Glen, I may well go back to shopping in Frankfort. I can only conclude that this store is poorly staffed, poorly trained and poorly managed. What is the problem here?? read more

Rob the jewelry store; tell 'em make me a grill. I came here to buy a grill, and what I got was disinterest, lies and laziness from a sales associate. Perhaps I made the mistake of knowing what I wanted when I walked in, but this guy wasn't interested in helping me whatsoever. When he walked up to me and I told him I wanted to buy a particular grill he immediately began lecturing me on how I'd have to wait four days if I wanted it assembled, because "they don't just have a bunch of teenagers sitting in the back putting these things together." Apparently their assembly team only works one day a week. Right. That's when he immediately tried selling me a lower-quality store brand that he had pre-assembled instead, but I wasn't having it. I wanted the one I wanted. He half-heartedly offered to sell me the floor model with no floor-model discount. I had him check other stores stock, but the only one that had them in stock and assembled was not worth the extra gas or additional sales tax, so I ended up taking the floor model even without the discount. My new best friend then tried to explain how propane works and that none was included with the grill. I'm not a noob. And exchanging propane tanks isn't rocket science. I didn't appreciate the way he talked down to me. All in all, his customer service really sucked. I won't name names, but this guy was definitely a Menace. read more

Hello! Does anyone work here? Can you call an associate to see if they can help me find an item? .....After 10 minutes,someone finally shows up and it always feels like you are bothering them..... when it is their job to help you!They tell you what isle the item is in but never walk over with you to answer any questions you have.You can walk in the store at 9:00 a.m and some associate is either on their break,isn't scheduled to start work for the next hour or is walking around talking to another employee.This Home Depot operates with a skeleton crew. You can walk over to Menard's across the street for competition but Menard's only hire employees 18-25 year olds.They lack knowledge in their departments or have never worked in a field that they in charge of.You're better off going to Ace if you know they carry the item and pay a little more but you won't have to go through all the frustration. If you get frustrated enough and want good customer service, I drive over to Ace Hardware on 159th near Will/Cook road.They will greet you at the door,help you find your item and answer any questions you have.The drawbacks for shopping at Ace is: limited stock,higher prices, shorter store hours and don't carry as many items that Home Depot carries. I do give this Home Depot some good points: They have a very good nursery,sell Scott's fertilizer,carry an assortment of lawn mowers,trimmers,blowers and lawn care products which Ace and Menard's are lacking.They have a tool rental department, plenty of lumber,and sell appliances. This Home Depot needs to hire more associates/have better customer service.It's frustrates me to walk in every time and know that you'll be looking for an associate to help you no matter what time it is.Sometimes I become so frustrated I will walk out the door! read more

The Home Depot - No one here I was told they are in a meeting ???? - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Homer Glen, Illinois

I registered my child for the Kids Workshop held yesterday, March 4, 2023. My husband and daughter got there at 11:00 am (one hour before the workshop ended), only to be told that they had run out of kits. They also told my husband that they ran out of kits around 10:30 am. I don't know if they were giving them out to walk-ins, but there appeared to be some breakdown in inventory control. I understand that this is an event that is open to the public and there will be people who register who don't come, but I would think that if there is a cutoff to release kits for people who have registered, it should be noted when registering (and/or in the confirmation email), and it should be no earlier than 30 minutes before the end of the event. Maybe it is mentioned online, but I didn't see anything in my confirmation email. We later visited 2 more Home Depot stores to see if they had any left, and they did not. Unfortunately, the kit is currently unvailable online. I don't understand the purpose of registering if they are going to run out of the inventory. In the past, we registered at a different Home Depot, and they weren't allowing walk-ins at that time. (Just a side note, arriving earlier was not an option as we currently volunteer earlier on Saturday mornings.) read more

I can't say enough about Jordan in customer service. He was behind the desk for each of my three visits to purchase two toilets. He was knowledgeable and helpful with delivery options and again when I needed some missing parts. He also seems to be able to multi task while still giving you 100% attention. Had to return 4 times to do a simple faucet replacement . All hoses were missing parts and the faucet itself leaked like a sieve when installed. Ended up returning everything and going to Ace which was perfect. When you ask for something the guy in plumbing just points to aisle, can't answer questions and doesn't seem to know anything about the products. Its really hard to find someone to help you here. Clearly, they need more help and some people who have a basic understanding of products. Everyone is not a contractor, sometimes people need a little help and advice. It would be nice if they were able to assist the average person doing basic home repair and also not to put returned items back on shelf so another person buys defective products. Don't ever order anything to be delivered. The shipping company they use are the worst. Nothing gets delivered until weeks after home depot promises and then only after many many calls. We ordered outdoor furniture in May that STILL hasn't arrived. Apparently it has been sitting at Estes's shipping warehouse waiting for enough other items for a truck to come to our state. We ordered flooring-it was sent to Estes to deliver and sat for weeks. Then they told us it would be delivered 3 times and each time they did not show up or showed up outside of the time window we were given and no one was there. It cost us days of work and rescheduling workers. Then we ordered a refrigerator. We were told it would be there between 3 and 6 so we emptied the contents of our old refrigerator into coolers at 3pm. After many many calls to find out what was happening the delivery arrived at 10 PM. read more

Read some negative comments on this store before i began a remodel job in the area. Wow was i fooled. I received exceptional service from everyone I encountered. We were unfamiliar with the store layout . Asked a lady where the sticky plastic floor protection was she said "its way in the back of the store, Ill go get it! " Had a Menard 15% bag in my truck- they honored it! Anthony and Tony at contractor check out were outstanding, courteous, helpful. Maybe management took notice from some of the negative comments. I dont know/ however it was the best buying experience I have ever had. Tinley Home depot- Menards and Lowes are my second home. these guys were the best. ps- the paint girl did good too. This store is ridiculous! Looking for someone to answer some questions in multiple departments to no avail. Went to the service desk to have someone paged, they called over the intercom twice and still nobody. The manager (I assume) is a giant dork with no personality as I overheard him talking to an employee with a smarta$$ tone! So needless to say as we were paying for one thing we did find (by ourselves) the cashier asked if we found everything okay, I had to laugh! Plus what the hell is wrong with the A/C in this place? My receipt date is from September 4th and it was hot out and it was just as hot inside, I asked the cashier why it was so hot and she laughed and said it's always hot in the store. Excuse me Home Depot but didn't I just hear on the radio or TV that you made billions of dollars for the quarter??? People don't want to come from 90 degree heat outside to shop in the same heat!! Horrible experience at this store. We purchased a new front door w/ installation, The problem is that the color was wrong. They were sorry and were willing to fix it by reordering a new door with the correct color. When the second door came in, it was the same color as the first so of course we denied it. They offered to to reorder once more, which they did and exactly in that same color. Now Home Depot did check the color of the door that they first installed to the color that we were looking for and AGREED that it was not the same color. They told Jeld-Wen the same thing. after that they started to come up with excuses that it was different lighting an that the door we have seen in the store was there for 10 plus years and the stain must have faded. when we asked to see the display door again, it was removed from the store (how convenient). I am asking for a refund and they are refusing. Horrible experience with this store. Here is what we have gone through. Good Afternoon Mr. Gacek: The communication that I am receiving states that: The door has been ordered several times First door ordered Jan 2nd. Recieved it Feb 1st and installed Feb 15th. The color was to be Milk Chocolate and customer claims it is to dark Feb 15th claim put in with Jeld-Wen Claim # SR-407549 Feb 18th customer came in with pic of old display that had faded and it dose not match the door that was installed Feb 28 Jeld-Wen agreed to replace door and door was ordered 2nd on 3-2 Mar. 29th Jeld Wen did not put door in production 28 days for new door to come in May 10th new door is at store May 14th Customer in to inspect and the door is still to dark. Possible issue with Dye lots with the stain May 27th 3 rd door ordered June 19th 3rd door at the store June 21st Customer rejects 3rd door due to color Today is December 18th and i get a call stating they can give me a refund but i have to schedule a date for them to come and remove the door from our house. read more

I will not be spending my money here ever again. To start, my new car was hit in their parking lot. I filed a police report and before I left I gave my information to the customer service desk for them to reach out to me after checking the cameras. Two weeks went by and no one contacted me. I called them again they told me they would have the manager call me back later that day. Again, nothing. Then I tried contacting 3 more times once was given the email address to loss prevention some Irish last name but he never responded to me or called me when they said they'd forward my information. If you can't help me out ...then tell me, don't give me the run around. Never received a response and now it's been a year and a half since its happened. Thanks for nothing Home Depot. I went into the store on 4-23-19 and wanted a sheet of plywood cut. I waited half an hour and no help. An employee walked past me talking to another employee and said it's my lunch now. I asked another employee for help and he pointed to another that he thought cuts wood but he never helped me. Based on my past experience with the Home Depot in Homer Glen, IL , I now shop at Lowe's. Lowe's has a system in place that once you confirm your veteran status all you need to do is provide your phone number at checkout and the Vet's discount is applied with no further verification needed. Family members can also receive the same discount by providing the Vet's phone number. Lowe's is definitely more Vet friendly! The receipt also prints out "Thank you for your service." Nice touch Lowe's! read more
