Both retail customers and wholesale contractors get the quality customer service they have come to expect. The center of this store offers free kitchen and bathroom design services. Free flooring design services. Free window , front door, and garage door design services. And has a small selection of kitchen appliances on display. The seven employees who sit here are dedicated Home Depot workers with vast experience to take care of customers needs. Went to Home Depot in East Northport to buy a new Washer & Dryer, which I know very little about. HD is a last resort for me because it's nearly impossible to get help from their employees, much less finding someone actually qualified to answer dumb questions. Well, after last weekend I have to eat those words. I was helped out by a wonderful sales person, Charlie M. He was extremely knowledgeable and hugely helpful in ordering on line for delivery in Mass. from another location. Unfortunately, he's transferring to flooring, so you'll need to be lucky to catch him helping out in appliances. I'd give him more than 5 stars if I could!! read more

We went in to buy a bbq grill... no one around , asked a cashier & then a floor person " how long grills on sale for?" Both said idk. And that was the end of that! They lost a sale. I love huntington Home Depot. I work in garden and I love helping customers and all that comes with the job. I have my forklift license and going for the indoor reach truck this week. Standard HD store located in New York Ave In Huntington Station. We went there specifically to pick up a propane tank and it was pretty easy to find and purchase. This is completely new to us coming from California and I would have no idea what to do if it wasn't for BF. He suggested we get it at Home Depot today. We didn't have our empty tanks in the car, like I would know it has to be refilled? It was $24 plus another $24 for the tank. That seems expensive but again, this is all new to me. Warning ! Propane Tank Leaks . I'm a plumber and heard a hissing after I connected the tank to the hose. I did a bubble test, (soapy water sprayed onto the connection ) It started to bubble up. I tried to snug it up but it wouldn't tighten. Also it didn't open up to a high flame but just a low flame. When I brought it back to Home Depot and explained what was going on, the employees looked at each other an said another one that makes 4. H D gave me the replacement. I connected it no problem .But When turned the valve open it only turned open 1/4 turn. Walked in looking for 5 items, walked out with 3. That I found myself. Success! (On my own search) Storage Tub Gorilla Tape Light bulbs Fail! Vinyl Tile Flooring (2 Pieces) - I wandered around the area for a good 10 minutes, no customer service to be found and anyone that DID happen to pass through had zero interest in helping me. So I gave up, figuring Weather Stripping would be easier to find. Weather Stripping - Wandered the store for a few minutes, then asked someone where weather stripping could be found. He sent me to the opposite end of the store. When I arrived there, I still couldn't find it, so I asked another employee who then questioned why another employee would send me to "electronics" (like I'd have the answer to this question). So "electronics" section employee tells me "It's near hardware". I ask, "Near hardware or IN hardware". He sees that I'm clearly frustrated so he suggests we "Ask Mike cause he would know". We find Mike a few aisles over, who then says, clearly bored, "Its near hardware". At that point, I was done. It was obvious no one was going to help me. Congrats Amazon! You've got another sale. Memo to head manager from me: Needed 2 keys made today- Walked in, 3 sales associates "greeters" at front entrance. Talking to each other. No "hi, do you need help?". Nothing. To drive my point home- I PURPOSELY walked around for 5 minutes, making eye contact with people around the front end, customer service desk, etc. MANY associates (a few managers as well?) saw me "looking lost" , did nothing- and said nothing. This went on way past 5 minutes. Key making station was vacant. Finally a guy who was at the front saw I needed help and assisted me at the key making station. He did actually look and sound guilty from not helping me when I walked in so....that is your one star Huntington Station Home Depot. Register guy was nice as well. All this falls on the head of the MANAGER(S). A bad manager will not train or nurture an associate to do a good job. A bad manager will not care. A bad manager is like a bad parent producing bad children. Home Depot , as a chain, has been dwindling for the past 10 years. The sales help here used to be superior. Not so anymore. I've ordered online, selected 'free store pickup' more than once - when I arrived at the store - they did NOT have what was reported to be in stock. Got the blank, clueless stare each time. They also make up their own return policies! They REFUSED to accept a return for merchandise that I purchased there. Merchandise that is ONLY sold at Home Depot! I have to go to Home Depot frequently, and this is by far my favorite Home Depot. This Home Depot is never crowded. I can get my things quickly and get out of there. Isn't that the ideal of every frequent Home Depot shopper? The help is the best of any Home Depot I've been to. Their Pro Desk is in particular is the most helpful of any Home Depot I've encountered. Michael is the best! When Home Depot ditched phone sales for "text to confirm", their Pro Desk staff was well versed in it from the very beginning, while every other Home Depot I've ever been to was confused and fumbly about text to confirm for months on end, to the point that I had to help the employees of other Home Depot locations with the process. One time, Queens/Bulova Home Depot told my father he needed to buy a whole new drain for the shower pan he tried to buy there, and in the process, waste at least 45 minutes of our time. This Home Depot in Huntington told us straight out the drain is supposed to come with the shower pan and made sure our shower pan came with a drain. That's the kind of service I'm talking about! What's not to love about the Home Depot near home? I'm here at least 1-2 times per week and have never had less than friendly and attentive service. You won't wander far in the store with that "deer caught in the headlights" stare without someone coming over to help you find what it is you're looking for. And usually they actually bring you down the isle and show you all the offerings that suit your needs. On the rare occasion you have the need to return anything, they are happy to return or exchange what broke or didn't work out for you. They also have excellent growers at this location. If you get there as soon as a shipment of flowers and plants arrive, you'll love the quality and assortment you're offered. We have bought many plants and herbs and haven't had one die yet. Take advantage of the "one day " sales around the store. I had to load up on a whole years worth of Bug Free Backyard because it was on sale. Each day it's something you won't want to miss. I'm not sure how I did it, but I also got enrolled in a text program that lets me know what kind of sales are going on. Really, really like this store. read more

The WORST. When you're there in person no one wants to help you... The cashiers are rude... And If you want to feel the biggest frustration in your life... Try to get somebody on the phone there. I have been on the phone for about three hours I called the customer service line and also the store directly but I actually got hung up on twice and it just rings when I try to call back. POOR MANAGEMENT. Did not honor their return policy. Manager 'too busy' to speak to me as a concerned customer - I purchase my plants at home depot because of their one year guarantee - if it dies within a year you can return it for a refund or exchange. I tried to exchange a plant this AM that was less than one year old and they would not accept the return because I did not have the receipt and I paid in cash. I tried to speak with a manager and the woman working the return desk called the manager Pete on the phone. Pete replied that he was 'too busy' to deal with me, so I left the store without my refund and without making the large lumber purchase I intended to make today. I used to really dislike Home Depot. Any location I visited was understaffed yet unhelpful individuals were always stationed inside trying to push home-remodeling packages on you, instead of real employees. But after Hurricane Sandy, at least at this location they really sprung into action. Sure they didn't have gasoline-powered or any other generators day after day but it wasn't for lack of trying. Their system was very organized, calm and fair. Sure I noticed a serious looking, black-clad security guard with a 9mm at his hip but he mostly stood in the shadows, faded into the background. Customers and employees alike were all very peaceful and good-natured. Home Depot is good for a few things. Need a shovel? Hedge clippers? Chicken wire? Yes. It was great for organic plants too but there weren't any organic plants or seeds this season. Not one! How about offering variety? Ugh. read more

This review is about Home Depot in general, not this store. I have been a Home Depot customer for 30 years. I always went through them for my roof, window installation and appliance purchases, etc. They would always stand behind their work, even though their work is subcontracted. Things have changed at Home Depot. I purchased a number of kitchen appliance about 4 years ago. I purchased a 5 year service agreement for all. I am now having a problem with my .refrigerator. Home Depot set me up 3 different service providers. All proved to be useless. I googled all 3 and they all had terrible reviews. I am amazed that Home Depot deals with these companies. Anyway, Home Depot refused to do anything further so I am stuck with a fridge that does not work and totally amazed at what seems to be a new Home Depot policy. So beware..... Home Depot is no longer the place to buy appliances, or their totally worthless service agreement.......Now I'm on my way to LOWE'S to buy a new refrigerator. read more

I had recently received a gift card for Christmas and purchased some 1/4" mdf boards for a small project at home. I needed to return one of the boards at a cost of 7.42 cents. I was informed you need a driver's license to return or exchange anything purchased with a gift card. In this day of data being stolen for theft identity purposes at many large retailers (including specifically Home Depot) I am not willing to have my personal data collected when I am in possession of a store issued receipt. I have no problem showing my license, but it is extremely inappropriate to log the data to your system. Management was made aware and did nothing to accommodate my concern or situation. I offered to show an entire wallet full of identification, but only a state issued would be accepted and LOGGED. Please, whatever you do, never purchase a gift card from Home Depot for anyone. read more

I used to think this store could do no wrong. Always had product in stock, helpful/knowledgeable sales people and pricing that can't be beat. But recently it has all slipped. I am finding I can get all that from Riverhead Lumber right around the corner. Let me elaborate. I had a heated argument with the assistant manager with some issues I had. I went there to pick up 360 sq ft of tile last week. Employee wrote up order for me to pick up in Syosset because Huntington didn't have enough stock. Got to Syosset, paid for material while employees loaded SUV. Get half way home, checked numbers on product and order was 1 digit off. Drive back, return material and drive all the way to Commack to fulfill order. Half a day wasted. You think the madness would end there. I go back to order drywall, insulation and drywall mud. You think they could deliver 17 sheets by pick up truck. Nooooo! The order goes to Commack and delivered by semi which can't get down my driveway yet alone the road. Had argument with assistant manager and he tells me it "automatically goes to closer store for delivery and employee didn't write anything else in note except to call me before delivery". Really? Last time I looked Commack was further away from Centerport than Huntington. Fortunately, the back end jitney could and I felt relieved. But I get the product and check the order and they gave me wrong mud. Pro Desk had to deliver by truck. Another f'up! read more

I shop at this location frequently, and for the most part, have had good experiences, until I encountered the head cashier, Vivien. This woman, in my opinion, doesn't have a clue about customer service, and she gives this store a black eye, every time I have to deal with her. She appears to have a "chip on her shoulder." I never thought I would say this about a Home Depot, but the customer service here is really great. The employees here will actually approach you and ask if you need help finding anything. And they are pleasant and helpful and even somewhat knowledgeable. I realize that this might sound like the bare minimum of good customer service, but I used to live near a Home Depot (in Brooklyn) that was so awful that I refused to shop there because you could never get help from the employees, who would hurry off in the other direction if they saw a customer approaching. Bought a GE washing machine in April of 2014 and purchased a 5 year extended repair contract. On June 2nd of 2017 I notified HD Assurion of machine not working. Sent a repairman around in about 5 days and he looked at machine and said it needed valves, which he said he would order and come back and install valves. He returned on JULY 8th and installed valves. As part of service contract we were entitled to repayment for any monies we had to pay at a laundromat while machine was inoperable. From 6/2 till 7/8 we submitted a bill for $115.00 for laundry usage. They just sent a $50.00 check on August 11th. I was then told it states maximum payment (in small print was $50.00) in the extended warranty. The service we received from ASSURION was horrendous. They would tell us one thing and then change it to another thing. Plus, how could two simple valves take 5/6 weeks to be replaced. WE will NEVER buy an extended contract from H/D again as long as Assurion is involved in the contract. I feel the only reason we received any repayment was I went to the Huntington Station H/D and notified the Assistant Manager and Manager of my problems with Assurion. They finally got me the payment after another 2 weeks. On a zero to five I would rate Assurion a 00000. read more

Bob, Tom and Vern are consummate professionals, while Karen and Valerie in the millwork/custom orders go above and beyond for their customers. Very pleased with wide selection of online items and you can't beat "ship to store" for free - if you don't like it when it arrives, you didn't pay for shipping and they'll just send it back. Doesn't get any easier than that. Shop here frequently and won't shop at any other HD since the service just isn't the same. read more

I went to Home Depot Memorial DayWeekend in the garden dept. with no idea what items to purchase. I was so lucky to get a very nice kind and helpful salesperson named Elsie. She gave me ideas and I didn't get any thing that day.5 days later I went back looking for Elsie, I found out she actually worked in a different dept. She was paged and came to help me again, It is not everyday that you meet a great employee, that loves her job and gives her 100 percent to each customer. I was able to get my 10 percent discount for my Military Service- how great is that !!! It is so nice that Home Depot doesn't forget our Military- Thank you Home Depot. read more
