The worst run store in America! I am so out on Home Depot and this awful store. There is no customer service and if you think I am checking myself out you can pound sand! Recently, I added two feet of insulation to 2,500 sq. feet of my attic. A former contract carpenter informed me that the insulation I wanted to match was likely "Owens Corning AttiCat Fiberglass," and advised me to take a sample to ensure a matching product. I decided to shop at Home Depot, where an associate consulted with another colleague, and indicated that they believed I had cellulose insulation. Confused, I tried to contact my consultant via phone for confirmation, who was in my hometown, 120 miles away. During this time, Gregorio Yanez noticed I needed assistance and offered to help. Went to Home Depot Idaho Falls today with a friend to purchase $3800.00 in wood for a deck I am building. I asked the woman near the Pro Desk where the "Contractors Desk" was. She told me at the end of the store Went down to the end and the people there told me it was right where the first parson I asked was. Went back to the original lady and showed her my list of wood I was going to purchase under a contracting business LLC. I ask her if I were to recieve a dscount for purchasing so much. She took down all the business info and said I was to get everything to be purchase and get in line, then she would ring it up and send it out to be approved for "bidding" which would lead to a discount if bidding was approved. I didn't understand, so I asked her how much of a discount would I be approved for. She said she did not know and this is how they did it. I would find out the discount after the materials were rung up on the cashier. I thought that was sketchy and I thought this woman was lying to me. Anyway, I gathered up all the supplies on three big cats, went to the Pro Desk Cashier and they scanned all my items. The total came to over $3800.00. I had to use a credit card and then the cashier sent it out to "bid". The bid was then accepted and we waited for the items to be discounted. I thought maybe 10 percent would be fair. Lowes discounted my roofing materials more than that three years ago. So the discount came back and it provided to me a discount of zero percent. That's right folks. I was scammed by Home Depot. There enver was a discount. They want you to be in that store for two hours loading up materials for a huge job pretending your getting a discount and when you check out, they STIFF you like an idiot. I've been lied to and scammed by HOME DEPOT. That means I shall never shop there again. I nave thought this store would pull something like this. I was wrong. Bye Home Depot. You suck!!!!!! Always depends on the employee!! I don't understand why people lie about "policy" or inventory... if you are just too lazy to look, say so! I call looking for a particular item, a Christmas item, (yes I know its barely October) but the "customer service rep tell me, no, they don't have it in and won't be setting Christmas until the end of October. Uhm, ok. You're the only retail store in the company in the country that is not setting Christmas! Then I come to the store and find two incredible team members that help me find one of two items. It is on a pallet, she finds it and squeezes in to cut it out of the plastic wrap on the pallet! Way way above and beyond! Thank you Abbi! I come back two days later and ask for the second item where I am told it isn't off the truck yet and can't be taken off the pallets until they are rolled out to the floor. Well, two days ago, it was on the rafters in the back room. Today it's on a truck. She doesn't actually look, she doesn't stop and ask more questions, she dismisses me and off she goes. I'm currently standing in Home Depot where I have had about 10 employees walk past me in about 20 minutes. No greeting, no help, no acknowledgment! If I didn't need this Home Depot only item, I'd have left with no plans to return! Utterly horrible experience and pathetically sad that two out of so many were amazing, some are just mediocre and then you have some that wouldn't know customer service if it bit them! Now I'm leaving after 35 minutes and as I walk out, I see the same person that told me it was on a truck, working the customer service desk.... You have got to be kidding! Home Depot is the worst company in history. I ordered two very expensive toilets that were delivered to the wrong address. I've been on the phone countless times with Home Depot and they will not do a damned thing about it I am out nearly $500 and my remodel has been delayed indefinitely. The lack of customer service is terrible here. They have no communication to their customers about product that has been ordered. It's been damaged that has been refunded without the customers being told. I have never in my wildest dreams, thought that this mistake could've been made twice in such a short amount of time. It's almost as if the employees are afraid to talk to their customers. Businesses that don't update or take responsibility for their customers lose them to other places this is not because of the employee this is because management doesn't know how to drum the service and the value of that service into their employees. You can give the customer 20 30, 5070% off to make up for wrongdoings, but it's not going to fix the customers outlook of a shotty run business. I'm sorry, but I give it two tries. This review is for their carpet department. For us, the only positive part of the experience was interacting with the in store sales associate the day we selected and purchased our carpet replacement (our whole house). After that, it went downhill and has been a horrible experience. It started with the installation, we scheduled it, took time off from work, did our part and did all the furniture removal required. The day before, they confirmed the time they would show up and approximately how long the job would take. The crew never showed until later in the afternoon and it was one guy, he came in and left shortly after arriving. A few hours later a few more showed up (close to the end of the day) did a little work and then said they couldn't finish it that day and that they would have to come back. We again adjusted our schedule for another day losing out on work and only half the crew returned the next day. It took another day but the work was finished work was poor. The seams weren't matched up, there were nails in multiple places, streamers and gaps and loose carpet on the stairs. It was a major challenge trying to get them back to fix the problems, more not showing up when they said they would (more lost time at work because we were home waiting for them to show up). After almost 6 months and MULTIPLE emails, calls and trips into the store they finally came back and corrected the issues. We have followed all of the recommendations for care and for the "warranty". We don't walk on it with shoes, we vacuum almost every day, we don't eat food over it, we have had it professionally cleaned and there are only four of us living in the house. Just barely after a year we noticed areas where the carpet was matting excessively and looking as bad or worse than the carpet we replaced. Not having high hopes due to my previous experience I reached out to the store again (just over a year of having the carpet). It took almost another three months of emails, sending pictures, requesting them to come to see the carpet in person, having the same dept. supervisor not remember phone discussions, emails and her making the same requests and then claiming she "got a new computer" and that's why she didn't remember (I kept all of the email correspondence for my records). I could see where this was going when she started talking about having the "carpet manufacturer" see if there is a defect. The Home Depot warranty we were told about when purchasing ultimately wasn't what we were told. After sending carpet thread samples to be analyzed by the manufacturer (not an independent inspector) we were sent an email with the report that there was "compression or crushing of the tufts" but ultimately "no defects ". So in other words, it seems there isn't much we can do except share our experience with others in hopes they might take their time in exploring options when purchasing new carpet, we absolutely wouldn't go through Home Depot again because of this. Maybe other store locations are different and our experience could have been better in another home depot but it doesn't matter now. If you have thousands of dollars that you want to spend, if I had it to do again, it would have probably been less stressful and saved on time and frustration if I would have taken the money, found a bridge and tossed the money in the river and watch it float away. I don't usually write negative reviews, but this deserves one. I needed new appliances and live in a remote area with few choices for stores. After doing research online and finding some at Home Depot in Idaho Falls, I was unable to order online. I tried to call the store directly, but no one ever answered. After several attempts, I decided to stop by the next time I drove through Idaho Falls (60+ miles away). I did, and was actually helped by a very competent woman who ordered the appliances and was very pleasant. I was eventually notified that the order was ready to be shipped, but that one of the appliances was damaged and that I'd need to look at it to decide if I wanted to keep it or order a new one. But that they couldn't send pictures or do a video call. We set a date for delivery and I hired a contractor, only to learn at 3:00 pm that day that they were "unable to attempt" the delivery. I was given several numbers to call, and finally was called back by the IF Home Depot store manager who said the delivery was scheduled on a day that doesn't include my service area and that it would be 11 more days, but that I wouldn't have to pay for the shipping... So I am looking forward to rescheduling the contractor, which is nearly impossible, and hoping that the damage on the appliance isn't so bad that it needs to be returned, re-ordered and re-shipped. There are so many opportunities for improvement here, it's stunning. I know it's hard to find people to work at all, but please, empower, educate and pay those you do have to be as good as the one woman I dealt with. Went to take something back and they had no cash and wanted to give a store credit. Which is good if I was ever coming back, which I'm not. Worst service available. Most of the employees are literally clueless. There are a couple knowledgeable ones, but they are impossible to locate. To tell you my tile fiasco, your mind will be blown away with the stupidity I had to deal with. This is the short version. There is much more but, here is the jist. First the lady told me the tile I had bought the day before was clearance now and no longer in stock. Then she told me wait, it was in stock and she had 45 in store! I was pleasantly happy because I literally only needed 2 pieces for my tile guy to finish the job. Even after I repeated which tile, double checking, she reassured numerous times that she had 45 in stock. My gut told me she was wrong. So I called back and another employee told me no it was not in stock and also I had to order an entire case of the tile. There were no options to just order the two I needed. **On another irritating note. The Idaho Falls Home Depot starts turning off their lights throughout the entire store even before closing time. It was 5 to 9 and all of a sudden lights start going off everywhere when I was still looking at tile. Another lady was looking at vinyl flooring. This made it extremely difficult to see let alone choose what I needed quickly in the dim light. So RUDE!!! They don't even care that people cant see. This is not only a lack of consideration issue its a safety issue and needs to be halted immediately. read more

I usually prefer Lowe's but Home Depot seems to be better stocked and is not going department store as much as Lowe's is. If that make sense. I don't go to home improvement stores to get dish soap, laundry detergent, etc... But my big problem is that it's usually seems like an adventure trying to find someone when you need help. Went in today (7/10/2021) Store wasn't super busy, was able to find the boards I needed easily, went over to have them cut down to the sizes I needed, after a couple minutes an employee that was obviously busy made contact with us, and said he'd be back in a few minutes to help. Meanwhile, 2 other employees finished with the forklift (they had been getting product down) parked the forklift, and proceeded to literally dance around in the aisle for about 10 minutes I kid you not, they were doing what appeared to be "the sprinkler" in the middle of the aisle..... after this had gone on for about 10 minutes I approached the gentleman, his name was Tim, and asked for his managers name. Then I went to the front desk and asked for a manager, none could be located...... luckily, I was able to go to LOWES and get everything I needed, and was able to do it with more help than I could ask for. read more

Bottom line, Home Depot advertises they honor military discounts, however veterans are not included. A DD114 is not honored at Home Depot. Lowe's honors all military people including veterans. If I could leave a - 5 stars I would. I ordered online scaffolding on May 3rd to be delivered on the 14th. I was emailed and notified that the product would be delivered the 17th. I called and said that the delivery date needed to be what is was when I placed the order. I was told it would arrive the 15th. I was also told I would receive a phone call from the store manager ( never happened). I called a total of 4 more times being told I will get a email when it arrives. Now on the 11th of June almost 40 days later I had to call and still no scaffolding. I would not recommend ordering any product or buying from a place of business that cares so little for their customers. read more

This place is a total mess, almost every item is out on the lower shelf but is in stock on the top shelf and you have to call someone over to get a ladder to get it down, employee's must be lazy or management is not doing a good job to make sure they are pulling items down from the top to keep stuff stocked for customers to grab, this happens every time on almost every item, come on people, do your jobs and keep stuff stocked...upper management needs to visit this store to see what's going on.... read more

We are in the middle of building our home and have had nothing but issues with this store. The worst was our experience ordering our kitchen cabinets. The employee helping us knew nothing about designing a kitchen. Our first issue was he put an apron sink in our design which we didn't want. We'd already bought our sink and had to return it and by an apron sink which cost us more. Next he made the measurements so tight that we literally had to cut off the trim between every cabinet to get them to fit. ( when we asked about it he said oh I always leave a 3" margin of error). Nope not this time! Then we had a hidden pantry so the entrance to that was suppose to be an empty cabinet for a walk through. We'll that had all built in shelves and 6 small front doors. We asked about that he said " you'll have to modify it"! That wasn't discussed while ordering. Then to top it off he threw in 6" crown molding which we didn't want or order or even discuss with him. That alone was $1k. When we talked to them about all of the issues they said they would take back the large cabinet but they would charge us a 20% restock fee and we would have to haul it back to the store(2 1/2 hr drive). They told us they would not reimburse us for the crown molding. I would avoid ordering cabinets from there at all cost! We didn't even get an apology! read more

On 22August 2017 we purchased a washing machine from Home Depo Idaho Falls Idaho and was told delivery to our home in Rigby Idaho would be 26 or 27 August. On 26August received an e-mail that delivery had been made to the Idaho Falls Store. We called the store and verified the washer was in and asked about delivery only to be told the earliest delivery to our residence will be 9 September, when I informed the associate that on 7 September I would be in open heart surgery and need delivery prior to the 7th he said sorry and ended the conversation. Two years ago we built on to our home. We spent 10's of Thousands of dollars at Home Depot. We put in new Countertops, Cabinets, Flooring/Carpet, Lighting, Toilets, Sinks, etc. Last year the Laminate started to "Shrink" on our Kitchen Countertop!!!! There is a gap now in the seam. So, food and stuff gets caught in where the gap is!!! 2 Weeks ago, the Top of the Countertop Popped UP off the top surface! I can't believe it!!! I should have called Home Depot last year. However, with Covid, and our poor health, we didn't get them called until 2 weeks ago when the Top Popped up! Phil, one of the Managers at the Idaho Falls, Idaho, Home Depot, told me that the Materials (Wilson Art) and Precision (who made the Countertops) only had 1 YEAR WARRANTIES!!! WHAT!!!??? Had we of known they only had 1 Year, we wouldn't have bought what we did. Anyway, Home Depot, and Precision, refuse to come out to even look at it. They Refuse to come Repair our CounterTop! We stopped in at the Idaho Falls Home Depot on Saturday afternoon. We were looking for a hedge trimmer that the online store said they had 5 . it was difficult to find someone to help, as we could not find the item on the shelf. The employee looked at his phone and said we are out. Before i could ask him another question I had, he said oh, my manager is calling me and he was off never to return. My spouse and I placed no fewer than eight phone calls to our local store, asking for the appliance department. Each time, the automated answering system took us to the store operater, who said that they were busy, but would return a call. I left my name and number three times with no call, and five times it returned to the switchboard more than twice. I found a product that was almost identical at Lowe's, and guess what???? They answered the call, assisted me with the details that I was calling to confirm and they got the business. I am planning to avoid this store at all costs in the future. If good customer service is even remotely important to you, I suggest you save yourself some frustration and stress and just go to Lowe's. It's just down the road and they have the same prices and way better customer service. I recently ordered a washing machine from Home Depot over the phone to be delivered to my house in Rexburg. After placing the order, they told me someone would contact me about when that would be delivered. I never heard from anyone. I called exactly 2 weeks later wondering where my washing machine was. They told me it was on back order but it arrived 5 days ago. I said, "okay, so why didn't someone call me, and why hasn't it been delivered yet". They said they would try to find out and they'd call me back. They called me back a few minutes later and said they couldn't get ahold of the delivery driver, so he must be on lunch. So they said they'd take down my name and phone number and call me back to let me know what the delivery driver says once they get ahold of them. I never heard from them again... so after about an hour of waiting for that call. I just called Lowe's and ordered the same washing machine for the same price and also free delivery. They said they would call the truck driver and have them turn around and put the washing machine I ordered on today's truck and have it ordered today. I called Home depot back and cancelled my order, and they tried to charge me with a $15 restocking fee and I refused and talked to the manager. She waived the restocking fee and seemed to be apologetic about the situation but she didn't really seem like she cared. I'm going to Lowe's from now on. This isn't the first trouble I've had with poor customer service at the Home Depot. They are very unprofessional. read more

Ordered a new lawn mower from them and paid in full for will call. Was told they would have two that Tuesday, and to show up with a trailer. Showed up tuesday and was told they are spoken for and they would give us a call Thursday when more came. I just called to weeks later to see when it would come and was told "well if we said we would call you then you should wait for us to call I would think." Very rude. And now I'm waiting for another week in Hope's they might call me. Buying from here is a horrible idea unless they have it on the shelf. I was excited to get carpet and have it installed. I finished my order on November 15th with and installation date of Wednesday, Dec. 6th. Home Depot contracts installation out to Romanoff who show up late and then proceeds to tell me they screwed up and didn't get my carpet bound. Installer promises to get it bound and installed by Sat. evening. Monday morning comes, I call main corporate office and let them know I expect a phone call by the end of the day. Ashley calls back immediately and let's me know the bounding hasn't even been scheduled but promises to get it done. Unknown to me Home Depot hires untrained bounders who do this as a second income. Today installers come back, rip out all my carpet and proceed to put in hallway. Once they get to my staircase, my husband notices bounding is done correctly and it came right off. Excuse after excuse from Romanoff and multiple phone calls from this angry customer and I'm left with padding for who knows how long on my staircase I'm disgusted with the quality control and customer service from both companies. read more

This store is the worst! I tried to purchase $3,000 in appliances for a home. I got passed around between 4 different associates. Waited two hours in the store before I finally found someone in kitchen design to sell me my appliances. I was promised my appliances were in stock and reserved with my name on the boxes. I was promised a delivery date then denied delivery, then received used and damaged out of box items when I went to the store to pick the items up myself. The dishwasher had a hole in it from being hit with a forklift and the stove had clearly been delivered and returned, it had spray insulation all over it and the back was pushed out! I requested new appliances since that is what I paid for only to be told they didn't have them in stock and were too lazy to check and see if another store had them. I will NEVER shop at Home Depot again. read more

Update, Home Depot worked hard to resolve our issues after much encouragement from myself and my husband. The installer Brian was actually fantastic and was not the problem at all, he did a wonderful job on the installation of our doors and windows.
