My most recent lawn service quit, so I decided it was time to mow my own lawn. Probably not the smartest decision I've ever made, but hey -- maybe it'll be good for me. The truth is, I haven't bought lawn equipment in decades. I haven't mowed a lawn in decades. So I took my clueless self into Home Depot in Jax Beach this past weekend and met Chad. He was beyond helpful -- let me ask about 5,027 questions without ever making me feel stupid, annoying, or like I was wasting his time. Today I went back, still overwhelmed, and even apologized for being so clueless and wishy-washy. Chad didn't miss a beat. He said: "You should be. Make sure you ask questions, do your homework." He never once made me feel dumb or like I was a bother. Instead, he put together a package that was actually cheaper than the bundle I thought I needed, and reassured me that if I need help later, someone there will show me how to use everything. So, shout out to Home Depot. And shout out to Chad. and hopefully I remembered his name, right! If you happen to see this "old lady" struggling to mow her lawn... just wave, smile, and keep driving. I came to this location to check out what they had in the way of Christmas decor. Was I in the market for anything? Not really, but if something caught my eye Christmas-wise, I'd have a look. When I arrived, I went directly over to Christmas decor. The first thing I noticed is that the employees were consolidating all the Christmas decor. It wasn't even the end of the first week of December and they're almost out of everything. I was disappointed with the decor they had left. What can I say? How do I give 5 stars to a Home Depot location? I'll show you how. I came to the JAX Beach Home Depot because my usual outlet said they had 13 of what I needed - a Ryobi reciprocating saw to cut some trees and limbs in my yard. Well, 13 quickly turned to zero, so I was informed there were plenty of these at the JAX Beach location. Externally, this Home Depot was top notch in appearance. It makes you want to go in. But when I got in, I was immediately greeted with a smile and welcome when I came in. In fact, every employee I saw had a smile when I asked for assistance! Feeling welcome here and comfortable to ask questions is a huge plus for any store. Now I was looking for a battery-powered saw as my yard work got to be too much for my snippers and cutters. The gentlemen who assisted me were outstanding in getting the right product, along with an incredible blade to help me get the job done. I'm a huge fan of Ryobi products and have a good number of them. All are used and perform perfect for my needs. I certainly have bought other products (even a grill) at Home Depot. I will say, since I always look for deals, I manage to purchase great products at great prices and value. With Ryobi, once you get past the seemingly high battery purchases, the prices of the products as "tool only" are amazingly low. Another advantage I would say is that being a military vet, there is a 10 percent discount on just about everything they sell at Home Depot (I believe there are a few exceptions). I've purchased some Milwaukee tools, Knipex, Traeger, etc. I've saved quite a bit, and I'm grateful there are frequent sales on great items for customers. I also advise people to get the Home Depot app, whether you're on iPhone or Android! This is one of the best ways to keep up with the deals Home Depot offers. It's easy to make purchases off of it as well. I can't say anything negative about this location and really wanted to spend more time here during my visit. I'm writing this on behalf of my friend because she was too uncomfortable and shaken to share this herself. This happened on September 25, 2025, at the Jacksonville Beach Home Depot (3790 3rd St. South, Store #6338). My friend works in the same shopping center and does not have her own car, so she sometimes goes into Home Depot for a short time while waiting for her ride after her shift. This is the only store open at that time, since all the other stores in the shopping center are closed. She goes inside to stay safe, not to shop or loiter, and she's always careful to stay out of the way of employees and customers. On this day, she had only been in the store for a short time, less than 10 minutes, when a manager approached her. The manager is a woman with blonde hair and dark roots, usually worn in a ponytail, and often the one who makes the closing announcements. She asked my friend if she needed anything, and my friend politely replied that she was fine. Less than five minutes later, the same manager returned and, in front of other customers and employees, said, "because you're in here every day." The tone was rude, condescending, and accusatory, making my friend feel embarrassed and unwelcome. My friend responded politely, explaining that she works next door and is just waiting for her ride, but the manager did not seem to care or accept that answer. Because of this interaction, my friend no longer felt safe or welcome in the store. She immediately left and did not go back inside, and I ended up having to call my parents to come pick her up, even though she lives only 15 minutes away, because she was too shaken and uncomfortable to wait anywhere else safely. To make matters worse, this same behavior has never happened to me or other people who wait in the store under the same circumstances. My friend was singled out, treated unfairly, and made to feel unsafe, humiliated, and unwelcome, despite being professional, respectful, and wearing business-casual attire. I was on the phone with her when it happened, I can't imagine how she felt if I feel this way and I wasn't the one who personally experienced this. This manager's actions were completely unprofessional, unacceptable, and potentially discriminatory, targeting a customer without cause, creating a situation where her safety was compromised. She should be immediately investigated, and appropriate disciplinary action should be taken. No one should ever be treated this way in a store, and no one should have to leave a safe indoor space because of a manager's rudeness or harassment. read more

Wanted to buy a micro. The guy "on duty" was not only slow, but worthless. I had to run out to my car quickly, while he was supposed to be looking up the info on the ovens I was interested in, but he took on another customer. A guy. You know, us stupid women do not matter to some of these jerks. I reported him to some male manager and he told me to just go with the gutter cleaner I was buying, and I went and paid for it. He can stick his handouts. If they cannot give decent service with decent workers, do not bother me with hand outs. They do not make up for the mess. read more

Popped in for a hunk of wood- contain the snickers- to attempt carving my first spoon. After weaving up and down the aisles, I found a chunk of poplar that looked as thought I can get 3 or 4 spoons out of. I have a friend who carves spoons and I used to carve walking sticks. I have been dying to try out my new spoon carving kit! I admit I am used to having at least one person ask if I need help- that did not happen in this store. This is my 3rd or 4th time at this location and I don't think I have ever been offered help. I did manage to find what I was looking for and then ended up buying some succulents too. Had to make a return, and had a misfortune of dealing with this ridiculous woman, Cassandra, at the return desk. I still had my receipt, but unfortunately, I was out of my 90 days return window. Since the product was never opened, I was trying to see if there was still a way for me to get my money back. She informed me it was going to be merchandise credit, and I asked if a manager could override the system, maybe an exception, since, again, I had my receipt and the product was not opened. Cassandra, apparently, got a short fuse, she got so agitated and aggressive with me, started snapping and raising her voice: "IT WILL BE JUST A MERCHANDISE CREDIT!!!!!!", even when another guy stopped by to assist, when he was trying to talk to me, she would talk right over him. At that point I actually told her that she was being very aggressive and confrontational, and needed to step back, and that I did not want to deal with her anymore, she did not like that, her bad attitude started to shine at that point, she slammed my driver's license and the receipt on top of the item I was returning, shoved it back to me and barked: MERCHANDISE CREDIT!! I don't know what happened in Cassandra's life to make her this vicious, but when you are at the customer service desk, you don't get to be this disrespectful to customers, if you can't handle it, Cassandra, then go do something else. When the store manager came to deal with the issue, while I was telling her about Cassandra's behavior, that woman stood off to the side grinning and practically laughing. So, no concern or fear of of the store manager or consequences for her behavior. Obviously, it is a small store, they might be friends, so I could tell Cassandra was not at all concerned about the store manager. I called the Corporate and filed a complaint regarding my experience with Cassandra, and how obnoxious and disrespectful she was, which should not be acceptable! read more

I was on a mission to find something that would stabilized my couch and chair to keep it from sliding on the hardwood floor in my new place. I stopped by the service desk on my way in and asked where I might find an item like this and I was told aisle 13. I went up and down aisle 13 about three or four times and could not find anything like I needed. After checking four or five more aisles, I went back to the service desk and asked someone else and they told me aisle 14, which of course was the only aisle I hadn't checked originally. I was told end of the aisle on the left and that's where I found the items. I'm happy to say I brought the items home and they work wonderfully! I just wish it hadn't taken me 20 minutes to find one item in the store. read more

One of their employees Joey today was very helpful, bought a few too many bags of 50lb concrete, and needing to return several of them Joey came to help me unload them back to a cart, not an easy task at all. Their customer service didn't stop their, during My returns a lady that I didn't catch her name was very knowledgeable helpful and kind, and worked with me figuring out which card I purchased the items on many thanks to her too. Over all the customer service here beats the Atlantic blvd location hands down, as well as other Home Depot's in the area, my understanding is this is a smaller branch and unfortunately sometimes I still have to travel to the Atlantic blvd location. Hello, I visited the Jacksonville Beach location around 11:30 AM today. I was there for about 15 minutes and counted 15 customers without masks. Two of these customers were in the check out lane, talking to a HD employee. One was in an aisle, talking with an employee. I realize that it must be incredibly tiring for employees to police customers, who are fully aware of the mask mandate, but it's important that employees feel empowered and responsible for correcting such behavior in the midst of this health crisis. As a physician assistant who works in a local (FULL) emergency department, I am begging you to help the community by not allowing customers to walk around the store and purchase items without wearing a mask. read more

Re: the Home Depot in Jacksonville Beach. Normally I'm a big fan of HD, mainly because they have a kids workshop each month where the kiddos, with parent or grandparent can build simple pre-cut wood projects together. And it's all free (what a great way to creat future customers). Today I went to pick up the project kit to built later because my grandson is out of town. Something I've done several times over the last 3+ years. THE MEAN WOMAN IN CHARGE WOULD NOT GIVE ME ONE. I traveled 35 minutes to the store that I have spent many, many thousands of $'s at and she turned me away, saying the child had to be with me. Who the hell is this person that decides who gets a kit and who doesn't ? How heartless could she be? When I went to another HD, at Atlantic and Girvin (drove another 45 minutes) they were as sweet as could be and cheerfully gave me a kit. Multiple entrances including garden and lumber departments. Pretty well staffed with friendly faces ready to help you. It's always busy and they change out products seasonally which is always nice. It's sometimes a little short staffed making check-out a bit of a pain. One thing I really like is that the prices are fair. They have a price guarantee so if you find the same product (that they stock) cheaper at another store they will match that price and give you another 10% off. read more

This is one of our go to hardware and home improvement stores in the Beaches area. Conveniently located off JTB and AIA, this store has easy access but parking space in this shopping center is a premium with other anchor stores like Trader Joe's to compete with for spots. I've had good luck purchasing everything from hardware to replacement toilets here at Home Depot. Most of the time, The staff are helpful and friendly. I also appreciate that Home Depot gives a military discount. read more

All Home Depot's are NOT created equal. Now that I have been to this one...I realize they have set the bar pretty high for other Home Depot stores. Every Home Depot you go into has staff asking you if you need help, etc. or there is someone nearby or around to ask a question to. At this Home Depot from the time you walk in they make you feel welcome. We were in the store less than 3 minutes and were approached about 6 times making sure we were headed in the right direction, needed help, etc. and in the end of that 3 minutes a manager type person escorted me to the area we were looking for. Those people truthly seemed like they cared and were happy employees. From the time we entered to the time we checked out...I/we felt welcome. We felt like we didn't meet a single stranger because they all treated us like they knew us...like family or old friends. I like that! We were on a mission for some corbels and went to 3 stores to buy what they had in stock. I certainly wish this store was closer to us. I will return if our local Home Depot doesn't have what we need. Thank you very much to the entire staff for the great customer service! Whatever you guys are doing to get you to where you are...keep it up....it's working!!! P.S...you may need to restock those corbels. (my bad for not leaving a review until now) But today I was on a ridiculous mission to get very specific cookware (yeah, I had no idea they had cookware) as a birthday gift. This is a shout out to the customer service/team effort that helped me!!! Andy is a lovely kick-ass woman surrounded by a bunch of awesome guys (Erik, Matt, Johnathon, and Jack) in the help desk/ returns area. This store is the only one of the 'big-box' stores at the beach. It offers competition to the local hardware stores, carpet-flooring stores and paint/wall-covering stores. Just like others Home Depot locations, they have the Garden Center and all of the many different departments like plumbing, hardware, electrical and hand tools. What this store does not offer, even though their shelves are well-stocked... they do not offer as wide of a selection as other Home Depots. This store is a much smaller foot-print than most other locations, therefore they cannot stock as many varieties as their larger counterparts. Also, what I have experienced is the appearance of an overall lack of experience by store associates and their apparent lack of desire to assist their customers. read more

For certain things Home Depot is the better option: more selection, usually better prices. But for small jobs - like key copies - I will always frequent the Ace near my house. They just do a much better job. We're starting to do some work around the house and on (somewhat of) a whim, I wanted to start with the fans. We found a fan style we like, which honestly I didn't think would happen, and they had both the regular size and the smaller size which we would need for our kitchen. Plus, it would give us additional lighting in the office and the kitchen. It's not too hard to find someone to help you when you have a question. We are in from out if town replacing a bunch of stuff on my grandmothers house Being that we weren't familiar with where things were at this Home Depot we needed help a few times finding things. After getting all the small stuff out of the way it was time to get carpet we needed for 2 rooms in the house We were first helped by this younger kid, then this older man stepped in to find the carpet color we were looking for. After two questions about various costs he had a quick change of attitude and just pawned us off to another person to help us. It's not like there were any other customers to help, he just showed how irritated he was with us and that was it! The fuckery I just witnessed today ‍....my God....just needed a key made. We are standing there waiting because it says "please ask for assistance"....free employees are walking by us not saying anything or helping. So I start walking around the store trying to find an available sales associate to assist us...the few I did see were busy helping other customers and had additional people waiting for them. I come back to my friend who is still waiting at the machine for someone to come by...no one has...there are sales associates around who see us STILL waiting. So I just start fucking with the machine....finding the right key myself, opening their drawer, touching the touch screen (which isn't helping me) but that FINALLY peaks the attention of someone to get them over to help us....because it wasn't "their department". So we ordered carpet and padding and when delivery was scheduled one guy shows up to do our furnished 1400sf space. Not only did they not send enough help (I paid $75 for the furniture to be moved) they sent the wrong carpet. About a week goes by and the correct carpet shows up with three guys. They look at our furniture, say they can't do it and leave with my carpet and padding. I call HD and demand my purchased carpet which I get, without the padding. I was refunded for the installation and padding, hired my own installers who managed to work around the furniture and complete the job in 12 hours. HD Installers are just plain lazy. read more
