Picked up 6 bags of top soil for $1.57/40lb bag and 3 bags vigoro River pebbles at $2.98/0.5 cubic feet bag. The closed at 8pm. Make use of one single line for the self checkout and cashier run registers too. There's plexiglass surrounding the cashier and the credit machine is outside of the plexiglass. Service was decent in the garden area, meaning we were left to our own devices the entire time. Our first encounter with staff was at the register. It's fine, we knew what we were looking for and found it on our own. I see why this is more geared towards the contractors. Prices are reasonable at least. read more

I would not recommend flooring or installation from this store. It's been nothing but a nightmare. It started off great, they came and took measurements, ordered the product, etc. The day of installation, it all went downhill. It would take me an hour to write out all the issues we've had. The bottom line is that the installation company was unprofessional and sloppy, the people running the company are unresponsive, and Home Depot managers are unresponsive. It's been nearly two months and my floors are still not done. I'm not a crazy person, I'm not mean, I just want someone to call me and help me work through this. I rented a sewer snake from Home Depot and had 2 bad machines in a row. Home Depot does not inspect their machines and expects their customers to inspect sewer snakes and report if tools are broken. Unfortunately I learned this after lugging 2 heavy sewer snakes back and forth between my home and Home Depot. Home Depot management does not care, and will not ensure tools are in working order prior to lending them to customers and states it is due to company policy. The store manager stood behind store policy as the reason for being unable to have Home Depot inspect their own machine's and was not able to make the situation right by ensuring machines are in working order before providing them to customers. I Would give less than one star after such a terrible experience if I could, as I basically inspected the machines for Home Depot and got nothing but a massive waste of time and wasted gas and mileage on my vehicle. Even after expressing my dissatisfaction the best I was offered was a refund for my wasted time and effort. I always thought is was funny that the formal name is "The Home Depot" instead of just "Home Depot". They should have done what Facebook did and just drop the "The". A funny for those that are movie buffs lol. This location is right across the road from a Lowes and they are both always busy from open to close. This location is always fully stocked with building supplies but a lot of the time inventory is left on pallets all over the place. I mention this because in college I worked at a Home Depot and that is a store no-no, stock should be handles before the doors open. Th employees here are knowledgeable but sometimes hard to find. I am a fan of this location. Note: they do have self checkouts but they can not always properly scan the merchandise to come up in their system so a cashier will need to come by to assist. The selection for bathroom fixtures was great! Everything I needed was there or I was able to order what I needed.

I purchased a kitchen upgrade from Home Depot and had them install it. One of the wall cabinets holding an over-the-range microwave came crashing to the floor. Home Depot says the install warranty is only one year. It has only been 15 years. The cabinet warranty is lifetime. I contacted the manufacturer (Kraftmade). After reviewing pictures of the mess, Kraftmade said my cabinet warranty is voided because the installation was not done in accordance with their instructions. They say the instructions are the same today as they were when initially installed and as they were in Home depot's contractor installation specification book. Home depot refuses to own up to their negligence and fix the problem fairly. If you are having kitchen cabinets installed by "professionals", how long do you expect it to stay on the wall without being purposefully taken down? read more

Home Depot generally can eat up a lot of your time, especially if you need to ask for help. They certainly have a much larger variety of almost everything you could possibly need for home repair and remodeling. And they really shine when you have a lengthy list of materials such as hardware, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc. You may find what you need at your neighborhood hardware store but they typically carry less variety than Home Depot. But sometimes neither of these gets it done for you. Case in point, l needed to replace a flush lever for one of our toilets. The lever has a brushed nickel finish. I started at my neighborhood hardware store but they only had a few choices and none were brushed nickel; and the flush lever is already mounted to the plastic arm. So... Off to Home Depot. I got directions to cut down on wandering and went right to the display in Plumbing. Looking over their larger selection I found nothing in brushed nickel, just chrome and ceramic. I did find a brushed nickel flush lever but it required a separate arm, that I found but for a front located lever; mine is on the side. I requested some assistance and was in line with a couple other people needing help. After waiting over ten minutes with no help arriving, and because I anticipated that when they did show up I would most likely be told that whatever they have is out on display, I left. I'm very very disappointed with the flooring department at this store. I initially started looking for laminate flooring for my living room. I had a quote from empire flooring for vinyl planking for $3500 hundred and they were scheduled for install within 3 days. Why , oh why did I have to keep looking???? So, of course I find some flooring I liked better at Home Depot. They told us they would need to send someone out for measuring and cost would be $50 due to the house being built before a certain year. I don't remember the exact year. So we scheduled the measurement. Everything was great up to this point. We received a call with the quote from their 1-800 number, not the actual store. The quote was way lower than Empire and they had an larger selection of flooring. We were told by the store salesmen we would have to pay the full cost of flooring and the flooring would have to be in the home before they could schedule installation. The salesman assured us that they actually had the total amount of flooring in the store and ready for delivery .The only thing not available was the corner pieces. We were told about a week before the corner pieces . Okay to cut to the chase . We canceled Empire flooring. Scheduled and payed in full on September 10. We now still sit today, September 27 , with no flooring. Yes the flooring was delivered weeks ago. I missed a couple calls for scheduling for installation d/t work schedule. I have been calling them for 3 days , goes straight to voice mail. Of course I'm leaving desperate messages with no return calls. I just called about an hour ago (Jenny) at 5862749100. Came for and bought a flange for the sink garbage disposal... left with it, along with silicone for the tub, outlet faceplates, a bunch of boxes of Christmas light strands, window cling decals, battery operated lights, and Christmas necklaces! I can't shop here without leaving with much much more than I came for! And self scan checkout with my Home Depot card is amazingly FAST!! One star taken away though for it being so difficult finding help and many employees passed by never asked if I needed and help. Never purchase anything large(flooring, cabinets, appliances, etc...) or expensive that requires delivery from Home Depot. I purchased almost $3,000 of flooring online to be delivered in room of choice with packaging removed, and paid in full. The delivery was made to the middle of my driveway and Home Depot did nothing to resolve. I initiated a return and was told it would be picked up within 24 hours and I'd receive my money back within 3-5 days. The flooring has been in my driveway for over a week and I have yet to see a return. I've been told I will not receive a refund until items are picked up,but three different times I've been told it'll be picked and yet it still sits. I was also informed that I'd be responsible for the flooring if it's missing or damaged, even though they left it in my driveway! I had to miss work, due to the delivery showing up on a different date then the promise date as well. Absolutely not worth it for anything, go to Maynard's! read more

Store is orderly, staff is available and happy to help, and you can get absolutely everything you could need for your DIY home renovation project at a cheaper cost than Amazon and Lowe's. Plus they do price match, so if you do see the product somewhere else for a lower price... they will honor it with just a show of the current advertisement on your phone. I am trapped in Home Depot hell. 3 weeks ago I decided to use HD to measure for carpet I wanted to buy at their store. They make you pick a carpet prior to the measure even if it's not the one you want. So I finally settle on what I want, go to the store, and here I sit for an hour now, while the clerk struggles to pull up my order, blames it on computer issues, makes multiple phone calls, gets her manager involved. No one can get my order rung up. So she suggests I leave and come back later. Except I hadn't planned on spending my day trying to place an order. So I can leave, come back later or I could give up & go somewhere else or I can sit here patiently & hope they resolve this. This is a freakin debacle. Once I get through with this order I think I'm done with HD. Update, 2 hours now. Somehow they have double the square footage and my price doubled. And nobody can figure out how to fix it. I went to Home Depot today looking for some assistance in blinds, there was no one in the general area to ask for help, and no call button to get assistance. After cruising around the area looking for someone, an associate finally walked down the aisleI, I attempted to catch eyes with her , much to her attempts to deflect I was successful !! I asked if she worked in the department, her answer was a simple "no I do not" as she kept walking past. During this time my mom who was there with me stopped by the customer service desk to ask for assistance in blinds , she was first ignored as the associate looked over her to call up the next customer so she asked again and was shot the look of death followed by the comment " I said yes" from the associate to her request to call assistance. When she got back to this blinds aisle we continue to stand for about 10 minutes before the call for assistance to aisle 5 ever came , no one ever responded. We left and went next door to Lowe's where I was immediately helped and made my $100 purchase. I will no longer go to Home Depot, this is the type of service I have received consistently from them, this was just the final straw. If I could go zero stars I would, sadly 1 it is. read more

Overall this place has most of what you might be looking for but to echo Neil....depending on what department you're in you may not have any salespeople to answer questions should you have any. That aside, I rented a power washer last year. I had to return after getting it setup to exchange guns. The one they provided was missing all its O-rings. Once I got that squared away I found that the hoses were also leaking like sieves do to disrepair of the seals. If you're renting make sure you inspect the gear and then have them inspect it too. They did help me out on the pricing given the foul-up. This isn't my favorite HD but it's usually less busy than the Troy location and closer than Southfield. 2.5 stars read more

The first is how randomly scattered certain items are the second is how difficult getting any assistance it. Go to Lowes!!! I purchased all the materials to build a new 16' x 17' Timbertech deck. Jon at the Pro Desk sold me the incorrect sized boards. I asked Jon at the Pro Desk why I needed 20' boards for a 16' deck and his reply was to "reduce waste." I now have 16 4' pieces of leftover Timbertech board sitting in my driveway. Talking to Jon about the incorrect board sizes, he tried to cover his ass with a different excuse each time; I laid the boards in a different direction then the CAD drawing ( I can't make 16' boards 17' long) or he told me to just make planter boxes or bench. I don't want to build anything else because of his mistake, I just build a deck. While trying to get a refund for the remaining uncut 20' and 16' boards and the 4' boards I have nothing to do with, it took them almost a month to process anything, I had to call corporate before anything happened. They always had an excuse as to why the was a problem with processing my refund in my 5 trips into the store. Jon also never ordered me fascia screws or Cortex plugs that I asked him numerous times for. He always said "I'll check with my rep" after asking him 3 times. I finally ordered the specific screws and plugs I wanted from an online store. I spent $3800 on deck material and an extra $400 after, I think I should have treated much better. Luckily I can see Lowes from the parking lot here. Will never come back to Home Depot again. read more

Every day we're told they'll call tomorrow and when they don't receive a call we're again told they'll call the next day. I went in again this morning to buy some lumber which I needed rough cut (it's part of the price I pay, right?). I went to a cashier to finally page someone after looking for help myself. As I walk back to the saw, the ONE effing lumber associate just had to be the guy to hold the flags while someone moved a pallet of cement. This is the worst location. No one wants to help customers. In fact this last time I went a group of men trying to buy shingles were ignored 4 times. One worker said he would go to the restroom and then help them out. My husband and I watched the worker as he walked out of the restroom, look at the men and jet the other way. Terrible, terrible experience and is mostly my fault because I continue to make the mistake and shop at Home Depot. But, I've learned....WON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE ANY MORE. I'll shop Amazon or get things from my neighborhood hardware store. I've been "burned" multiple times by buying something online at Home Depot only to find out they actually don't have the item(s) they sold me. **Note: 1) Selling things online is not that hard..practically everyone is doing it 2) If your inventory practices are that terrible that you are selling customers things online you don't actually have..maybe you should stop selling online. Just tell customers upfront. WE ARE UNABLE TO FULFILL ONLINE PURCHASES BECAUSE OUR INVENTORY IS BADLY MISMANAGED. Last summer it was a lawnmower, now it's something else. I bought two items online yesterday. Received the email stating they were ready yesterday evening. When I arrived at the Madison Heights store at 8:15 this morning the line was practically going out the door. They had one attendant. After waiting in line for 15 minutes, I got out of line since I had other stuff to buy. I thought I would let the line go down a bit and return after making the in store purchase. When I returned to the line and finally made it to the attendant (sole), he told me he couldn't process my order immediately because they were unable to locate all the items for the last customer. The customer they were referring to bought 2 garbage cans but they only had one. So, I told the sole attendant that I couldn't wait any longer because I had another errand to run. I returned to the store about 1/2 hour later after running the errand. When I made it to the front of the online pickup line again.. this time I was told that they had to go into the store to get one of the items that was supposed to ready in the online pickup area. Then I was informed that the other item would not be ready for pickup until 1/3/22. I asked to speak to the Store Manager "Dan". "Dan" must have been hiding out somewhere to avoid the whole situation because he never came down. So I just left. The attendant kept saying "sorry I'm new....blah blah blah". Below I've tried to addresss some of the more common excuses I've heard from Home Depot. 1. I'm new sir - NOT MY PROBLEM. YOU'RE A BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION. HIRE AND TRAIN THE RIGHT PEOPLE. 2. Sorry sir we don't have the item you actually purchased - NOT MY PROBLEM. YOU'RE A BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION. FIX YOUR INVENTORY. AND STOP SELLING THINGS ONLINE UNTIL YOU DO. 3.
