THE HOME DEPOT - NEW ROC I love coming here early morning. The staff that manages the front exit area are always engaging. Back of the house, not so much. But if you have a question, the back house Orange Vests fall in line and are helpful. Once you figure out or are directed to the correct aisle, you can be in and out of this place in no time. So it's, ask for help if needed finding the correct aisle. Locate and choose your choice of product. Look for the gigantic orange and white Checkout sign. Hope there's no line, which there generally isn't in the early a.m. Front exit area staff will direct you to one of the available Self Checkout kiosks. Unfortunately, no manned cashiers any longer. Pay for your product while 'Monitoring is in Progress'. And you're done! Easy Peasy. In and out. No major issues here at this Home Depot for me. read more

I don't frequent Home Depot - usually it's on an as needed basis if I ever need to fix something in my apartment. I was running errands with my parents the other day and they were looking for some industrial-strength drain cleaner; they knew that HD carried products beyond the standard Liquid Plumr, so we decided to stop in. The look and feel of this HD is the same as others I've been to. It didn't take us long to find the drain cleaner, and one of the employees who was working in the aisle saw us looking and made a few recommendations for brands that were superior to others. Upon checkout, the line was kind of long, but it moved quickly. They had multiple registers open, and the team members working were quick to get everyone out a quickly as possible. I know HD experiences can be hot and cold, but I was impressed with my experience here. The store was clean, well staffed, and before I knew it we were out the door. I visit HD more often than a person should, and different locations just to mix it up. I can say that this location can be hit or miss (more hit tho) depending on what you're looking for. The guys in the paint dept are great. The nursery staff is nice if u can find someone, lol. The Cashiers are generally good, especially Janette, whose really nice and although floor associates are as rare as unicorns, if you can manage to "trap" one, they're helpful, some even going the extra mile except Terrence, whose CS is needs work. And trust me, as a former recruiter and trainer...he needs a refresher stat! We appreciate the white haired older lady who heard us being given half assed info and walked to the opposite end of the store to get us someone knowledgeable to assist us. All in all, This HD is ok. The New Rochelle Home Depot is tremendously better than Port Chester, Stamford, Elmsford, and Cortlandt. It's so strange because you would think they are all set up the same, but the New Rochelle location has a better layout, more to offer, and seems to have exactly whatever you're looking for. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful every time I've been there, but they never have enough cashiers. There's always a huge line to get out of there. But you know what, I'm not surprised. I went to buy a gas grill and in their price catalogue it was indicated that also would provide free assembly. When I called the salesperson and wait for more than 20 min I was told that because "we are off season for the gas grill and we are not offering grill assembly". They never updated the information and just told me "I am sorry". BEWARE OF BUYING (USED) POWER TOOLS. I normally shop at the Port Chester store, but they didn't have the paint sprayer I was looking for in stock, and told me that New Rochelle had them. I had a big project planned for Saturday, so I rolled down to New Ro on Friday night so that I could get an early start on Saturday and make the purchase. Saturday rolls around and I start working. After a few hours, I'm done prepping and am ready to paint. I open up my "new" sprayer only to find it covered in paint and clearly NOT new, but used and restocked. I head back to the New Rochelle store to exchange it for an unused one. Make the exchange and return home (having lost about 1 1/2 hours of my day). Opening up the "new" sprayer, I get it set up, plug it and try to paint. Nothing. It's dead. Upon closer inspection I notice that this unit has also been used (small flecks of paint that the careful cleanup missed), broken, and returned and restocked. If you want to buy a NEW tool here, be very careful as it appears that they'll simply restock returned tools without inspecting them. Going to return this one and buy another one online from Lowes. WORST experience EVER!!! I was looking for a lock box for keys for a rental house. First my husband asked and the worker didn't answer him. I decided to ask very friendly. He wouldn't answer me; so I asked again only to be told, in a mumble, that he never heard of such a thing !?!? I explained it to him and again he mumbled that he never heard of such a thing. I tried to reexplain it and then he mumbled that their are safes was over there. I asked where "over there" was. He then mumbled that they were in aisle understandable. I was sending someone to pick up preordered tile and called to see if I could add one more case to the order. All I needed to know was whether or not they had another box in stock. 45 minutes later, after speaking with just about everyone in customer service, some brusque, one helpful, no one could contact anyone in tile. The helpful person even paged a tile person to the front desk with no response. How does Home Depot do business like this? Do they even care that they are losing customers and cash? Why not just close the New Rochelle, New York store if you can't hire enough personnel? Or, why not just fire those who do nothing and give those who do work a raise to make their efforts worthwhile? This place is the worst!!!!! And after looking at the other reviews and with my experience at the other locations it's obvious that it's a Home Depot problem. Not just one bad store. There is 0. ZEROOOOO training for the employees. OBVIOUSLY. Any issue or anything you need outside of "point me to ________ item" they are USELESSSS! I went to coop city location to buy a bathtub. Found the item online. Found the price. All I needed. Was to pay for it and have it delivered. Simple enough right? WRONG! 2 hrs and 4 representatives later. They couldn't find the sku. No knew how to set up a delivery! The only thing they were trying to force me to do was pick it up myself. So after 2 hrs I left there with no bathtub just a throbbing headache. I then went home and said hey let me order it online. The site directed me to get the item shipped from new Rochelle location. I placed the order. Paid. Delivery next day perfect. I then remembered I needed a vanity. No problem. I'm sure I can just edit my order or cancel and reorder the 2 items together to pay 1 delivery fee and simplify the order right? WRONG AGAIN! No way to cancel online. Call the customer service. After 15 mins the rep said he can't cancel the order either. As item is coming from store. I have to call the store the next day. Only to call the store the next day they can't edit or switch order. After 41 mins on the phone 39 of which was spent holding. As my rep was "being trained by someone" they Tried to direct me back to customer service! As u can imagine I am pissed. EIther Home Depot has the WORST most complicated POS system on earth. That even the reps don't understand (probably because they aren't trained!) or the #1 job requirement for employment is to be completely incompetent. Will not be here again. Safe to say. Once again. If I can't go pick the item up and use a self check out and walk away. Take your business elsewhere. This company is a joke. Home Depots are pretty much the same everywhere - this one gets my business when I need to go, just for the simple fact that they have a better parking lot than the closer Yonkers location. I live in Yonkers, but due to Costco, Stu Leonard's, and now Ridge Hill being next or near to that Home Depot location, I prefer to come to New Rochelle's location just for the simple fact of being comfortable in their larger parking lot. That's pretty much where the satisfaction ends. The most notable problem with this location is pretty much the employees. From ghetto trash to the lazy to the employees who simply have no clue to where anything is, the employees in this location are just putrid. Often only friendly with each other and then the attitude comes out if you happen to interrupt their socialization to ask them a question. Too many times, just trying to find an employee in here can take several minutes alone. Other times, when I've asked where something was (and I don't ask too often because I can usually find things myself without having to resort to asking unfriendly employees), I'm usually pointed in the wrong direction. I love the random pointing from some and the "over there" from others. If I've been here 10 times in my life, only 1% of the time has any employee actually been halfway decent or remotely helpful. Not a good percentage at all. I once tried to get a Home Depot store card and after having to wait for this deliberately slow worker plug in my info (which was written clear as day), I was taken aback when my last name was spelled wrong on the card that I got in the mail. So, I took the card back to the store and another employee apparently retyped my info in to the computer WHILE HOLDING MY DRIVER"S LICENSE mind you - only to receive a replacement card in the mail with my last name spelled wrong AGAIN. I have a 4 letter last name by the way, so from the first person getting one of the letters wrong to the second adding a 5th letter I just don't know what to say about the hiring practices at this location. It's piss poor. As far as stocking, I've usually found what I was looking for (myself), so I have no problems with poor stock. Out of desperation one day, I did try the hot dog guy located in the front of the store and his hot dogs tasted ok. Really, the main problem here is the employees. I guess you get what you're willing to pay for and hiring inept workers seems to be the thing these days for retailers, but it's just plain sad. I would say to avoid, but sometimes Home Depot is the only place that carries a particular item - so good luck in finding that item on your own, because that's how it's mostly going to be. read more

I visited this location to purchase a Christmas tree in the nursery and received horrible service. The nursery wasn't crowded and store associates congregated in one spot talking and not assisting customers. When asked for assistance, people in the group looked around as if it wasn't their job to help until one young man with limited information decided to help me. I asked about delivery and was told by the associate he wasn't sure if trees were being delivered. He suggested I go back into the store ask customer service for the answer to my question about delivery and return to buy the tree after I get my question answered. I left the store. read more

In Home Depot in real time and if I could give this place zero stars I would. THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN A HOME DEPOT. I have asked 11 people for assistance to date, at this point solely to see if the responses will differ. I ended up cutting all the wood myself, 8 different slabs, after people kept saying they'd call someone and walking off or literally telling me to ask someone else (even though, and I clarified, they worked in the wood section). I also watched a man attempt to ask an employee, whom he had tried to get his attention 4x prior, for a "wood vac" and the guy said he didn't know and went back to his conversation with 2 other workers. There was only 1 checkout station open, all the rest were self checkout. And the place was completely over staffed! I think I saw 35 plus workers wandering the floor and chatting with one another. The staff in this store have horrible customer service and very rude. They had a nasty attitude and seemed annoyed when I asked for help. On top of that they force you to self check out, what if I'm not tech savvy and need a cashier to check me out I stead? The lady at the front line screams at you to go to self check out whether you want to or not. I refused and went to be checked out and when I got there the cashier was rude. No greeting, just demanding that you turn all your items to face the scan, isint that there job? He just stood there scanning items as I brought each one up to him. For starters, this location doesn't have the best layout. I would've preferred a cleaner walkway and stroll through the store. Today, I was looking to purchase HDX Disinfectant (Because I love the scent and strength better than Lysol), door mirror, surge protector, Zevo spray for insects & flies, air conditioner and command strips. These items were not only spread across the store but were tucked away in corners, underneath other items and the worst part was the sale associates struggling to tell me where I could find them. Once I was guided by the first associate to look by the plastic bins by aisle 35 for the mirrors, I knew it would be an interesting experience. There were three different mirrors to choose from. Two of which were over the door hanging mirrors. Literally a black and white framed rectangle mirror. The last was a beautiful dark wood framed mirror. All considerably affordable. But the vary in price of the black mirror was 6.97 versus 19.97 for the white. The next thing to take me on a wild goose chase, was the disinfectant which was NOT where the associate said. I spent a considerable amount of time looking for it. The next associate told me to look in aisle 10 or 12 for command strips. They were no where in sight. I searched high and low. I asked another associate and he pointed me in the right direction. He said aisle 15 and on the right hand side Miss. Thee funniest thing was the strips being at the end of the aisle on the right. read more

I placed an order in store and was given a 12-hours long delivery window for my 60 evergreen big trees. I didn't receive them after waiting for the whole day with my gardeners. I called several times, their customer service was unfriendly, after putting me on hold 30+ minutes several times, the calls disconnected abruptly. They neither provided any explanation nor delivery update, left me wondering what happened to my large tree order. read more

Yesterday I went to Home Depot in New Rochelle. I had a wonderful experience all because of Andre, who I met in the electrical aisle. Andre is so professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I wanted to take my time and write a review that speaks to the service that Andre provided. He went above and beyond to resolve my problem and assist me. I dont think Andre knows the difference that he made and how much I appreciated his help. Andre is rare nowadays. I hope Home Depot realizes what they have in Andre and truly reward him for his knowledge, professionalism, patience and kindness. He can teach a class on professionalism and kindness. Today, I had a horrendous experience at Home Depot in New Rochelle. I had to order two pallets of tiles. That was 90 minutes ago. Now I am still waiting for those tiles to be loaded into my van. There is no excuse for this. It shouldn't have to take 90 minutes to give me 40 boxes of tiles that are in plain sight. The forklift operator even took it upon himself to get other things besides our order while we were waiting there for a very long time. Some of the people that work here are very nice, but this is the worst experience at Home Depot that I've ever had. Maybe time and patronage mean nothing to the employees at Home Depot new Rochelle but many of us who shop at Home Depot have clients who do value their time. I hope I never have to return to this Home Depot again. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! I placed an order online order that I was *supposed* to receive by 8pm today. 7:55PM rolls around and I have received no tracking call and no order. I go online to see what's going on and it now says it will be delivered by MIDNIGHT?!?! So we called the Home Depot main customer service number (the customer service for the whole company, not New Rochelle specifically) to see what was going on. Customer service tells us that the order was bounced from the Bruckner Blvd store that I placed the order with to the New Rochelle store because some things I ordered were out of stock at Bruckner Blvd. The customer service rep calls over there to see what's going on and they can't get an answer - no one knows anything and they just keep bouncing the customer service guy from department to department. Let me repeat that. The employees at the New Rochelle Home Depot kept bouncing the customer service rep FROM THEIR OWN COMPANY from place to place. We finally ask if we can just cancel the order since it's already so late. The customer service rep says he will ask the staff at New Rochelle to process the refund. As soon as he asked them, they put him (and subsequently us) on hold for over an hour! He kept coming back on the phone apologizing profusely and saying he had no idea what was going on over there that they would take so long. The refund was finally processed at 10:15 PM - we started the call with Home Depot's main customer service line at 8:54! So not only did I waste my whole day waiting around for an order that never arrived, I wasted my whole night on hold waiting for them to process the refund. Never once did anyone from the New Rochelle store ask to speak with us, apologize to us, or offer to make it right. Steer clear of this place!!! read more

As I type this I have been on hold with them for 36 minutes, I have been "transferred" 4 times to a department to check on ceiling tiles, only to be reconnected with the same operator who can't look at a computer to tell me if they are in stock. All she keeps telling me is "lots going on here- hold please". The management staff really needs to take a look at the reviews for this location and be ashamed of the job they are doing. I feel compelled to write this review for 2 reasons. First, the staff here was overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. Secondly, there are so many negative reviews regarding the staff that I simply didn't experience. I ordered a toilet online for in-store pickup. When I arrived the toilet was not ready yet and the woman behind the counter and a man went to go get it for me. While I waited I had at least 4 people come up to me and ask if they could help. Typically when I go to a home depot I have to hunt someone down but it was definitely not the case here. They even gave me bottled water while I waited 5 minutes for the toilet. I have to take 1 star off due to the in-store pickup order not being immediately ready upon arrival. Otherwise, I was very impressed with this store. read more
