Worst customer service ever. I called to speak to appliances about delivery of a washing machine and stove. No one in appliances ever answered the phone. I called again to try an operator thinking she/he would transfer me to appliances. When I asked about delivery for the washer and stove, I was told it would be better if I went on-line! REALLY. I called Stewarts TV and Appliances and got an answer in 2 minutes. Home Depot has lost their customer service compass. The person I spoke at to Home Depot was rude, hard to understand, and couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. So, my business goes to Stewarts. read more

I looked on my own in the area where the chain saws are. I didn't find what I was looking for. I then search for an employee. No one anywhere. So I went to customer service. I waited for the 3 employees to finish their personal conversation, only to be sent to a completely wrong area. She never even bothered to check the computer. I needed to stop in Home Depot again for those foam gutter fillers. Needed more for my new gutters. I was driving my grandbabies around to help them get to sleep. The 1.5 yr old was not sleep. The 6 mos old was sound asleep. I arrived in my fine attire of homebody clothes with an added touch satin head cap. I suppose this the reason for so many looks and assumptions. I can only guess. I had babies in cart with car type with steering wheel for older baby to sit n beep. We went to the light area looked around quickly then headed to find the foam stuff. Last Home Depot it was near the lumber so that's where I walked towards. In this area, the acoustics is different. The one plus yrs old yelled out and then again , again. A young man worker walked by not saying a word. Then as I'm looking for the foam stuff noticed the security cop quickly coming down the aisle. I located rhe foam at the corner of last aisle grabbed 4 to put under cart. Then proceeded back of whence we came. we his aisle and I turned around to walk back his way. He was about to turn our direction but immediately saw us walking towards him so he acted like he was going straight. I then went down the aisle he Just traveled toward front of store. I then noticed he came right back towards the front also. I stated to him , " oh you looking for us?" She was back there yelling." I made certain all staff standing around not working could hear. I started to walk towards the left. The young man waving heartily to us. The rest of staff was much older and some of men looked and acted very creepy. Saying hi and too eager to let us walk past. I turned around to self check out. The female was older trying to appear nice by talking to my 1+ yr old grand. She got so close to both babies. The oldest leaned back and grabbed me. Probably scared. The little baby sleep but she talking to her " hi baby" and leaning in. I had her cover over the carrier in cart slight open. COVID19 on the rise. Don't get in no one's face let alone a child!!!! I gather the assumption was I was doing something illegal. Why? My complexion, baby with cover over carrier, I don't come in with dress n heels??? One never knows how simpleminded people brain's function. Perhaps, provide inclusion, cultural sensitivity education etc. This could have gone left very quickly for no reason. Keep it up and I will take my working hard money to Menards. They have better selection of lighting anyway!! read more

So you can get paint there if you want to but when they ask if you'd like to save it on an account don't bother because they aren't sufficiently savvy to actually save the color. I tried two times to put a color I use on my decks on account and they failed miserably.They can't even match a color to a selection and they will try to sell you some other brand just to make the experience even worse. I visited Home Depo this afternoon to purchase a cordless circular saw and two blades. As luck would have it the lady working in hardware couldn't be found and the saw I needed was in a locked cabinet. After about 45 minutes of waiting and having people page for help and look for keys I decided to drive over to Lowe's to purchase my tools. I originally went to a different location to purchase a washer and dryer however I had a terrible experience with my order so I went to the north olmstead location instead. The entire store staff that I encountered through my transaction was BEYOND amazing and accommodating. Crystal was super nice and knowledgeable and made sure that my new purchase was not only a smooth transaction but also that I had the appropriate equipment ordered (which the previous Home Depot location did not do). Do not get appliances through Home Depot. First off the salesman at the store was rude and dismissive. I guess we were bothering him by wanting to buy something? Then we arranged twice to have the dishwasher delivered (you know things like taking off work, waiting around, etc.) It was quite the saga. The first they called and said the dishwasher was damaged so it would take longer. Ok. Then two days later they called and said it was coming in a few days. The truck came, the guys were courteous and when they went to take out the dishwasher, it wasn't there. Hmmm. A couple weeks later they came again and the dishwasher was dented. This is not my first bad experience at this store. The knowledge of employees is simply unacceptable. I use the iPhone app a lot to locate products, most of the time they are not to be found where the app says. Yesterday I shopped for Roof cement, supposedly in aisle 19 Bay 22, that is the lumber aisle, and I knew I would not find it there. Tried the roofing aisle, didn't find it there either. Asked an employee and he send me to the caulking aisle 2. Of course it wasn't there either. Went to the contractor checkout and asked Joe. While I was waiting I checked the roofing aisle 17 (no number visible for the customer) again, and saw boxes high up on shelves unreachable for the customer. Joe was very helpful getting them down for me. Seems he is the only guy there who knows what he is doing, Thumbs up for him! The Home Depot App in general is useless, things like that happened to me before and nobody is fixing it. We ordered cabinets in February. It is understandable that they take a long time because of work shortages. What is not acceptable is the level of rudeness from customer service and the cabinet department. Not one person was courteous or helpful. They were quite the opposite. How about NEGATIVE 5 star rating for botched delivery of $5000.00 worth of appliances. The inept installers broke the water valve for the refrigerator, as well as the water pipe behind the wall, resulting in about $25,000 worth of damage to the walls, cabinets, floors, and into the living room carpet. This occurred in April, 2022. These "installers" did not even unwrap the 3 appliances, or remove the styrofoam. The installers' insurance company made a settlement, but really not enough. We've had to repair walls, and replace all flooring and cabinets. So, here it is, late October, 2022, and our house is still in disarray, all because Home Depot uses a delivery/installation contractor that hires untrained, inexperienced workers. And, to make matters worse, we never got as much as an apology from Home Depot. We went to the Home Depot store, and asked to be compensated with at least an extended warranty on the appliances, but they offered only a discount on flooring we'd need to purchase. We won't be purchasing anything else from that outfit anytime soon. read more

absolutely horrific customer service. I never take the time to write reviews but our experience at the store was unacceptable. The employees are rude, lazy, and simply just don't care. we went in to get an estimate and we waited 45 minutes around the store because they had one employee working in the flooring section and she spent this much time trying to help one customer. we simply wanted to schedule an estimate so we decided to ask up at customer service and they directed us back to flooring. Come to find out we could just schedule it online ourselves which could've easily been said at customer service. we had the estimator come and he said that Home Depot would be giving us a call in 24 hours with a quote. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. once it hit a week I ended up calling myself just to be bounced around back-and-forth between departments because flooring wasn't picking up. I called back twice and flooring hung up on me each time. even if they do end up calling me back we will not be purchasing anything from Home Depot ever again. read more

I've been to plenty a Home Depot in my day. I'm from Atlanta- just like them! Goodgrief- that reminds me that their head honcho just did some really crappy stuff back in the ATL and I probably shouldn't shop there anymore anyway. I'll save my politics for later, though. SO- I'm at Home Depot. I needed some boxes because I'm moving (yeh, I swore I'd never pay for boxes but stores crush those things before you can get them!) and I know Home Depot sells them for a decent price. I stopped by the other day after running some errands, and; mind you this was not anywhere close to closing time. I know when it gets close to closing time people just want to go home! I've been there- don't go into stores when they're about to close people. Don't do it! Unlike some hardware stores that have a store layout by the entrance Home Depot does not. They should especially considering that if you're female in Home Depot you may have to do some serious work to get some assistance. This has happened to me far too many times to count since moving to OH. It really makes me miss the Atlanta store in Midtown on Ponce de Leon. My observations have been that if fully staffed they might have a woman working up at the front near the door and then working as cashiers as well as in the decorating and home renovation center in the back. And maybe the garden center as well. I overheard a woman stepping outside saying that someone had made the schedule for the week who doesn't usually and that she'd been there without a break since noon and was supposed to close (gladly she was headed out on break then around 7-8pm). At least that partially explained why no one was helping me. But not really. I've become the jerk that yells, "Hey! Hey Mister!" - I don't yell! I yell for some dude in an orange apron to help me. Really just to direct me. When I'm schlepping the giant boxes they're not even looking my way as a pair of orange apron dudes walks by me. I might have bought more but they hadn't restocked the shelf so I was having to do some crazy lifting. The store itself is a nice size and has everything indoors for the most part (I understand that's better for the environment because of chemicals during run off following rain?). If you really need to go to Home Depot I suggest you head to 10800 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland, OH 44130 and they're far better at customer service than I think just about any other Home Depot I've been to in the area. read more

I've been to this Home Depot multiple times and it's terrible to experience their customer "service." Staff doesn't care about customer experience and is unwilling to help, even when asked. A few examples of many: I asked where an item was located. Instead of taking the effort and time to show me, the employee didn't move from her location, said she didn't know and pointed in a general direction, stating I think it's probably over there. As I was left wandering at least 4 isles, obviously searching, 6 different employees walked by and said nothing. I was once looking for a rug at this HomeDepot and asked the employee sitting at the desk in the middle of the floor how much a specific rug was after I couldn't find the price. Her response was, "It's on there." I told her I hadn't found it, she told me to look again and said the specific place to look. Even though I had already checked there, I did it again - still no price. When I let her know that, she finally got up to come help me but not without a bothered sigh that was loud enough for me to hear. She realized it wasn't actually marked and scanned it. She told me the price, didn't say anything else and walked away to sit back down at her desk. Another visit, in the self checkout area, the employee was standing in the open area between the computers eating. Didn't say anything to anyone, didn't look our way, just walked around self check out eating her bag of chips while the people next to us were clearly struggling working through their purchase. I'll share one more, because this service is clearly a pattern and not a random instance. Most recently, I went to Home Depot to make a return. I was the fourth person in the customer service line with two employees working. Once one of them finished helping her current customer, she picked up the phone and called someone. She didn't acknowledge the next man in line or even look his way. My assumption is that she called another employee because she began talking negatively about the customer who the other employee was servicing saying comments that were clearly about him with no intention to help the situation - just to complain about it to someone else. After she hung up, she didn't even look up, just shouted, "Next!" It took 45 minutes to get through the short line and it had over doubled by the time I left. I'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes to the next closest Home Depot just to avoid this place. read more

Good place for garden and home supplies. The prices are decent. Staff is friendly. They could be a little more knowledgeable in the garden department about their stock. When it really busy they could be staffed a little better in the garden section. Store location is right in the middle of a shopping plaza. Not the best location for loading cars. Terrible. No customer service. Waited to talk to a manager about an issue for 15 minutes while he was taking care of another customer. He never acknowledged me nor did anyone else assist me. They simply ignored me and I finally left to find different help. When I finally got to the correct department, nobody was there and after searching for more help, a gentleman who worked there but didn't know the department signaled on the PA. 10 minutes later, the help that was signaled came...but she was on her cell phone having a personal conversation!!! Another 10 minutes went by and she finally got off the phone and didn't even apologize for the wait. I never did get what I needed. I am a new homeowner and have been making frequent trips to your stores. I recently purchased several products for our home within the North Olmsted store. This visit ended up being one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. We had over $1,500 in purchases and planned on returning for more items. However, we ran into issues with a few of our orders. We ordered 4 doors and needed to make a switch on one of the Anderson Renewal sizes. We immediately called into the store and spoke with the manager of the exterior dept. and she assured us that the switch of the sizes would be made and it would be an equal exchange and no extra cost associated. When we arrived a week later along with our contractor none of our 4 doors we ordered "in advance" were prepared and ready at the contractor dock. We ended up having to wait for literally 4 hours for someone who knew what they were doing to get our order for us. Actually, I ended up going into the aisle and grabbing the items that we ordered myself. Once I got to the front to check out, the associate then proceeded to charge me for all of the doors we had prepaid for. She disregarded the proof of purchase invoice that we had provided and had a very rude attitude. Subsequently, we had to have the manager on duty go through the system and void out the charges she put on our bill. However, They made us pay in full for the door we exchanged without offering an even exchange or refund we were told we would receive over the phone. Once we finally paid and got the correct doors we were told that in order to receive the refund we were entitled we would have to wait another week. The manger and the associate informed us that with all of the notes in the system we would have no problem receiving the refund and all we needed to show up with was a form of identification. Nevertheless, when we showed up today they were not going to reimburse us for the entire purchase because they claimed there was not enough information on the invoice for them to complete the refund. We had to wait over an hour for several people to handle the situation and find someone who knew how to operate the system. I am officially burnt out in handling this fiasco that has dragged on about a month. I refuse to set foot within the North Olmsted store again and have lost all trust within your company. There is a major lack of leadership, POS training, and overall customer service. I understand good talent is hard to find but these people were the most lazy and unhelpful bunch I have ever dealt with. I will be writing a negative review on this store and will spread this throughout my network. read more

This is more general Home Depot than this store specifically but they sure weren't helpful either. We went to look at stoves and microwaves and the employee was very helpful. However, our good experience stopped there. We ordered online. That was November 20, 2017. We JUST got the items today! December 15, 2017. The stove was on backorder but we were never notified just a no call no show on the scheduled delivery date of 12/2. Called to inquire. The woman was very nice and I thought very helpful. She helped schedule a delivery date and time, promising that due to the delay we could pick a window of time. Someone she spoke to okayed it. NOT TRUE! A half message was left the night before said delivery with no drop off time info or phone number. Found out the next afternoon when I was home for the scheduled time that was between 3:30-7:30 that they had already arrived and left at 10:30 am and I couldn't actually "choose" a time. Dealt with 2 hours worth of automated crap and being on hold to learn this. Both corporate and this store were less than helpful and didn't care that I was beyond angry and upset. Too bad for me and they would bring it sometime on 12/15 and I should just make arrangements for anyone over 18 to be here. REALLY??? Who exactly do I beg to sit here for 4 hrs? Then the delivery crew left snowy footprints/tracks on my floor! The store and corporate said they just sell the stuff and don't handle delivery. It's actually much more detailed than that but the point is the whole experience was a nightmare and I won't be buying any appliances from Home Depot ever again! read more

I just got home from a trip to Home Depot for salt for my water softener. The man at the register said he would call someone to put the three 40 pound bags in my car for me. I pulled my car up to the loading area and waited and waited and waited. Other customers were getting annoyed with me sitting there and kept asking me to move up, move back, move over, etc. I pulled up and down so many times I lost count. And may I say the other customers were not polite, gesturing, making remarks, etc. So, I pulled out my phone and called the store to ask them what happened to my salt. The guy at the desk didn't seem to know anything about it and came out to get my receipt. When i told him everyone was getting mad at me for sitting there, he acts annoyed with me and says well I'm not everyone and he walks away. He goes back into the store and meanwhile another guy comes along and wants me to move my car again. I moved forward and now, because I can't see what is next to me, I hit one of Home Depots ground level displays which has a large piece of wood on top and my car gets damaged. The guy comes back with the salt and tell me my car is damaged. Now, he feels bad and says he is sorry because by now he can see what is actually going on out there. Home Depot, you suck!
