You guys need to start training your employees in the art of customer service. We spend thousands of $$ in this store every month, as we just bought a house and are selling another. This mpast week I was in there 5 times. At the self checkout the guy with the long black hair, stops me as I am exiting, to tell me, that I need to pay for the board in my cart. Being that it was not a full piece of laminate, one would think that it was obvious that the board was not new, nor do they sell single pieces of halved laminate. Two days later in Garden, I purchased a plant on a trellis for 69.95. He asked me if the trellis was included in the price, I told him it was.Because the fact that the plant was wired to the trellis in the pot. I paid for my purchase. As I was leaving, he stops me by the door, to scan a different label on the trellis to double check with the scanner. I was in retail back in the day, and when you started a job back then, they hgave you some idea of the products that were sold. Since they obviously are not giving IQ tests, maybe they should at lest cover the basics read more

Absolutely terrible follow through and customer service. A very simple return with a paper receipt as well as an emailed receipt. The bar code number changed within two weeks of my purchase. The item description was the same. The brand was the same. They refused the return and gave me the only option..... to drive to a different state because that region Carrie's the brand now. Meanwhile they're are people next to me with no record of buying construction tools and receiving gift cards. They're playing the game and I just have a valid return with proof. Ordered 25 cabinets from this Home Depot of one their most basic models for our kitchen remodel. They kept giving them to us damaged with smashed corners or scratched doors. We were returning them the second they came off the truck over and over because they don't package them very well for delivery and they come in damaged. By the 3rd return the manager tried to tell us they weren't going to return any them anymore. Say what? You're trying to make me take damaged products that I just paid full price for! Yeah no! Horrible business. We stopped doing any of our large purchases for our home here because of crap like this. Now we drive all the way to Chico to go Lowe's because they're a thousand times better. Do yourself a favor, and don't shop here for your remodel, you'll save yourself a huge problem. read more

They have a few people there that work well with others, but by and large, you can't trust them to carry out what you asked. I purchased a Tzumi Prop kit. It was supposed to be taken to the store. Instead, somehow (dim wit work) it was instead sent to my home. If the UPS driver really delivered it, one of my neighbors kids now has a free tool kit. WORST SERVICE! I usually buy at Chico or YubaCity locations, and this it's the first time and last that im buying a pile on this location, the workers do not care and they don't even offer their help, they made me load the truck by myself just cause they couldn't move the pile indoor, I asked if I could meet them in the back so they could just drop it with the 4clift, and they said they are not allowed to open back doors, i they always load my tuck on other locations on back doors. In all honesty, most of their employees are AWFUL!!! I dont know who is hiring these people but* most of the employees who work at this Home Depot are absolutely clueless when it comes to hardware store items. Most of the older workers are helpful and knowledgeable but most of the younger employees are CLUELESS!! If you ask for location of many items, these younger employees will give you a dumb look and start typing in their handheld locators. This usually leads to more confusion and worry that they will be judged as being inept, at least they got something correct. WHO IS HIRING THESE INEPT WORKERS WHO ARE MOSTLY CLUELESS TOWARD HARDWARE/REPAIR????? I guess the question on their application which asks, "do you believe hard work will always pay off"? It seems they choose the people who lie and refuse to work hard in order to succeed. The hard work falls onto us, the customer. Most inept employees dont make it easy despite the high numbers per customer. For a company who hires 1 worker per 1 customer, its ridiculous to deal with most of these people. read more

HORRIBLE STORE AND MANAGEMENT My husband has applied there for every job at least twice in the past month and every time he calls they tell him they're not hiring. They lost their job listings again on Dec. 21st and he calls on the 23rd and they tell him they aren't hiring first and then I call and they're miraculously hiring again within two seconds LITERALLY. We speak to HR and they're not hiring now. Quite interesting if you ask me. I will drive to Chico to Home Depot before I give them any type of service. read more

Home Depot, why don't you take the time to teach your Employees that when a noise comes out of a thing that is setting on desks in ANY of you stores, it makes a noise, they should pick it up, put it up to their ear and say HELLO, MAY I HELP YOU, its not hard...why don't you teach them to do this...which store you ask...YOU CHOOSE!!!! If an EMPLOYEE does answer the phone as one just did...it rang85 times, you asked to be transferred to a certain department, just to be placed on hold...you will get OTHER departments other than the one you needed to speak to....OR, you are placed on hold for so long, you get disconnected, keep up the good work there H.D. So I went into Home Depot today to buy a lawnmower. And my man Eric was so helpful. I asked him if I could buy the display mower because there were none left and asked if I could get a little discount just because it's a display and he gave me $50 off and check everything was working on it so I didn't have to and then realized that it didn't come with oil and give me a free premium bottle of their oil. They have lots of employees (that actually appear to like their job, unlike the unfriendly employees at Chico Home Depot) to help you, they have everything in stock and it's just a short distance from Chico. The Chico Home Depot has a long way to go to be anything like the Oroville Home Depot. I will definitely go to Oroville Home Depot in the future instead of Chico Home Depot. If they don't know they will get a person who does asap. Had to put one star because there was no other option. Horrible! Bought an LG refrigerator and paid extra for the warranty. Thing has broken twice in one year! And HD has one repair man! So getting it fixed it nearly impossible. Oh and they sent broken parts to the repair man. Not only broken but they opened them and tried glueing them back together. We have called the 1-800 help line everyday, Abbey the so called supervisor told us to "buy ice" ? It's been nearly 3 weeks. Oh and they only refund $150 worth of damaged food. Best part is after having the repair man call them about the damaged parts they sent they said they can no longer get the part in. Nothing has been done! Does this store have a manager? This is a pretty nice Home Depot. Compared to the Home Depots in LA that I am used to going to this one is a dream. The place has plenty of parking. It is not overcrowded with people, and it doesn't sound like a construction site. The people who work here all seem friendly. Oh how nice it must be sometimes to live in a small town. read more

I went to Home Depot last night to Exchange a bad battery on a Milwaukee to I bought I brought the wrong credit card so they weren't able to find it so I went in this morning I explained what's going on the customer service person cannot find the item he said I needed the barcode or something like okay I'll go get a box with the same tools so you'll be able to find it unassociated I asked him to open the cage so we can take a box so we can get the barcode so they will be able to pull it up and use the correct credit card he looked at the impact drill and said how long ago did I purchase it I don't like about two and a half months ago he goes it looks older than that and I asked him if you ever worked in construction before he lost all his life I go well you should know tools get beat up very quickly in construction and he gave giving me negative things like I was trying to do a swap and steal a different type of gun made me feel very uncomfortable didn't management came up and they couldn't find it and they go there's nothing they can do I go out I just bought it I need to find out if I'm under the 90-day warranty and he goes there's nothing I can able to do for you you don't have a receipt or nothing I go but I purchase it with a credit card there's nothing I can do for you I had to call corporate and complain the Home Depot in Oroville give customers very bad service I never had to experience this in my life I will never shopping Oroville Home Depot they have very bad customer service including their managers read more

I hate going to the Oroville store and although the Chico one is not fabulous, the one in Oroville has THE MOST UNHELPFUL staff ever. Every time I go in there and ask a basic question they act like they are doing me some huge favor by even acknowledging I exist. We've been going to Home Depot in Oroville since they opened. Customer service is usually very good. Most everyone is usually very friendly. The main complaint is going in and out of the large door entrance. Most of the time people that must be privileged, park in the loading zone and go shop. So sometimes it difficult to even walk in. Same as trying to go out. If you park near the main entrance then you have to go to near the loading zone to check out then walk another 100 yards back to the vehicle. I cant believe they block off the walk-in doors near the loading zone because to many people were stealing things and running out. At times you cant roll a cart of wood out until someone moves a vehicle in the loading zone. Its not that hard to park in a parking spot and get your stuff together and then pull into loading zone like they ask you to do. read more

In general I'd give most Home Depot's 2 stars. I've been to a LOT of HD stores up and down California and in several states. Usually I play a game to see how long I can wander around the store before someone asks if I need help. Usually I stagger out to the parking lot hungry, alone, and afraid with something in hand I never intended to purchase nor do I need. Not this HD, this one shocked me. I'm in this place at least once a week (I know, I need different hobbies) and I'm constantly surprised how helpful they are. It's hard to walk an aisle without an orange apron asking if you need help. I've used most departments and had deliveries of everything from appliances to construction material. Since I live in the mountains I routinely over buy parts and material since it sucks driving 60 minutes because you're short a 3/4" PVC elbow. They always take my returns without trouble although they once looked sideways when I returned a pressure treated board that warped and split down the middle ($25 for a board, I'd like it to be straight please). At the pro desk they're always on the ball, especially Billie. That girl kicks ass. If HD were staffed by people like Billie the National Park service would be putting the HD logo next to Lincoln on Mt. Rushmore. P.S. The only reason I didn't give HD 5 stars is they're really too big to be a neighborhood hardware store. Teenager employees will never be a substitute for retired grandpas working the hardware aisles who have built houses by hand and know just how to complete your project. read more

We ordered new doors for the house back in July. It took forever for them to come in, but the measurements were wrong. They reordered the doors, but it is now mid-November and the doors still aren't in. We've had to go for weeks now with just a slab of plywood blocking one of our doors, so we can't even use this door. I will never again purchase anything that we need to have custom made or installed by Home Depot. read more
