My mother and I were at Home Depot today looking for some lights and a cultivator. I met Doug, Maurice and Rachael who helped us find the product we were looking for, were extremely friendly and we were able to get the help we needed. After which I then asked Rachael about a new hose I got and she was a great help in getting me the correct information about it. After finishing my shopping for items and found them to be well worth the price I paid for them, I talked to my mother about cultivators and my mother told me to look at them, Kristine was a great help in my looking for them. Although she provided the best help and friendliness she could, the one they had in store, turned out not to be what I needed. I thank them all for their great help and hope the rest of the staff continues to show this to customers, it's an encouragement to come back even more. read more

Severely deficient customer service. I purchased a refrigerator which advertised a delivery date of three days after purchase. On the scheduled delivery date, the delivery did not occur. There was no call, text, or email notifying me of any delay or issue. When I contacted Home Depot, I was told the refrigerator "did not make it onto the truck" and that delivery had been pushed out another three days. I was also advised that neither Home Depot nor its contracted delivery service intended to notify me that the delivery would not occur as scheduled. Delays in deliveries of major appliances are disappointing, but not uncommon. What is completely outrageous is Home Depot's failure to communicate that the appliance "did not make it on the truck" (even though the tracking information showed it was with the carrier). Customers should not have to discover on their own that a delivery is not going to occur. This experience reflects a complete lack of basic customer service and accountability. read more

Couldn't find weed n feed so I went over to the garden part of the store, still couldn't find it so I went to the checkout area where I encountered 2 sleepy eyed high school age kids The boy was least interested, had to struggle to get the girl's attention, after first explaining what weed n feed is (how is she working for Home Depot if doesn't know weed n feed?) she pretended to look in her work phone/tablet and immediately said aisle 63 back of the wall with a smirk/sly smile which I understood soon was her bullshitting me to send me on my way so she and her buddy could get back to their paid slacking. I finally went to 6200 W Park Blvd and was greeted by exceptional Customer Service agent - Cordell and couple other associates ( I was not able to get their names). I purchased motor oil for my vehicle on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday I noticed it was leaking oil in the back seat of my vehicle. I use my vehicle for deliveries so I keep my ac on. I wasn't able to get to Home Depot till Friday to return the busted oil. They would not return it because they didn't want to get there hands dirty!!!! I know this because that's all they kept mentioning. " it's so dirty". Why do you even apply for the Home Depot then if I wanted to stay clean? It wasn't the woman who did the return but her manager who said they cannot accept hazardous materials since it's open. They why do u even sell hazardous Materials if you not even set up to return them.. this how I know they didn't want to get their hands dirty Then I went online and look at the return policy "Due to safety hazards, items that use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned through the mail, even if the item has been drained of these materials. This would include (but is not limited to) items such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and any other items that use flammable liquids or gases. Please return products that use flammable liquids/gases or other hazardous materials to your local Home Depot store." I left the oil in the parking lot let's see how they handle that. I'm out 30$ and I don't think it's fair women are paid equal are more to men when they clearly don't want to get dirty... keep women out of men spaces. Unfortunately all 3 locations didn't have it but Tara at Customer Service went beyond to help me and found me a similar tree. We are redoing an older home close by and have gotten all of our materials from this Home Depot. All the workers have been helpful. I have never had that moment when I was lost in an aisle and couldn't find help. Paint- this is where we spend most of our time. They talked us through all the paint options and colors. They offered suggestions on brushes and tape without hesitation. Appliances- we bought a refrigerator (we needed something cheap) and the worker was helpful and not judgmental of our low cost purchase. Outdoor Greenery- probably my favorite of all the sections in this store. The flowers are always fresh and ready to be planted. read more

The staff here make me extremely uncomfortable. I recognize the vibe from an earlier time in my life, when I worked at a cement plant in the Lehigh Valley. There was a bad history at the plant, between the union workers and management, including an unsuccessful strike broken by management half a decade before. As a recent grad in the engineering management program, the union workers wasted no time letting me know that my existence was not appreciated. So it's no complement when I say that the average floor employee at Home Depot treats me like I am management and they are labor. They just met me a second ago, they know absolutely nothing about me, yet somehow the animus could not run deeper. I ask for help and they "comply," as if forced. I went into Home Depot for packing supplies. The store is HUGE so I asked the male at the front where would I find these items. He pointed me to the correct location so I could go straight there. When I git the the isle, they literally had EVERYTHING I needed. I grabbed my supplies and headed to checkout. Initially I got in the self checkout line but there an employee waving me his way. I went to his line and he was EXTREMELY friendly. He seemed as if he LOVED his job and was excited to be there. His name was 'William' and I was greeted with the best 'Goodmorning' ever. We had some side conversation during the transaction and after he finished ringing up my items I was told to have a great day and stay safe. Been to this location probably 50 times in the eight past months. Every single time, employees have tried to help us, some have gone extremely out of their way to help us find items (including a Ryobi battery pack). Fiancée loves their house plants, great selection. I've gotten a nail gun, dewalt saw, dremel here and they've all worked beautifully. Also kinda smells good. Cashiers are always very polite as well. The Home Depot at Park and the Tollway certainly has management issues and room for serious customer service training. We were in the immediate need to purchase a refrigerator, washer and dryer. We had spent $$$$ on other items at the store as well. We walked up to a gentleman in appliances and without letting us finish our request, he told us we could go on line ourselves to find out what they had in stock for delivery this month. We were so shocked at this mans response but continued to press him on helping. Without letting us know what he was doing, he turned around, (didn't say mother word) and proceeded to do something on his computer. We stood a minute but he was definitely not going to help us. I was seriously surprised at his poor attitude I told him "Thanks for nothing!" At the end of the day (literally) we bought them at NBM but the purchase was nerve racking as they were not able to deliver until the second week of July, weeks after we needed the appliances. However, the story turned positive (unfortunately for Home Depot) when we stopped into HomeDepot at 121 and Ohio and walked over to Rob, a former Plano policeman and asked him for some assistance. WITHOUT QUESTION, rob took us through what was available and we purchased the three appliances at that location as they were able to deliver almost immediately, meeting our deadlines. read more

Buyer be AWARE! I went to Home Depot to get a quote on replacing two 50 Gallon Water Heaters. I was given a sales pitch and told many reasons why I should buy from Home Depot. One of the main selling points was that they worked with fully vetted installation contractors. These "Home Depot Approved" contractors were marketed to me as: fully licensed, insured and that they warrantied their work. My experience was quite the opposite. It is standard procedure in my town that a City Inspector comes in behind the installer to make sure the work adheres to code. When the Inspector arrived, I was immediately informed that the plumber sent by Home Depot was not licensed. Upon inspection of the work performed, the inspector told me the installation did not meet city code. I received a red tag fail on my home - a picture is attached. There can be no dispute that substandard work was performed by an unlicensed plumber. I called the plumber, who tried to "Bull Shit" their way out of the situation. I then called Home Depot who made excuses as to what happened. I had to file a complaint to Customer Service at Home Depot HQ before remediation was finally completed and the city inspection was finally passed. My issues are: 1) I was clearly told by Home Depot that a licensed plumber would complete the install and my home would pass inspection. This was a falsehood and clearly not the case. 2) The plumber would not act to rectify the issue until I had to contact Home Depot. This further shows the warranty is useless and is not as the language in the Home Depot contract states. 3) I find Home Deport sales tactics to be deceptive and a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act as does two attorneys that have reviewed the matter. So, future Home Depot consumers, please be aware of this matter and make your choices accordingly. read more

In two weeks I am relocating to the Dallas area for work, and my new apartment complex said if I provided the paint, they would paint the walls prior to my arrival. So, since I was in town for work last week, I decided to take advantage of the offer. On my way to the airport, I stopped at the Home Depot in Plano and purchased a gallon of paint, I then drove the 20 minutes South to Addison to drop it off. When I went to get it out of the trunk, I found that 7/8 of the gallon of paint had spilled everywhere in the rental car - coating the trunk mat, the carpeting, under the trunk mat - on the HV battery and spare tire....everywhere. I am talking upwards of $1000 in damage Although I had a flight to catch, I booked it back to Plano and spoke with the manager on duty, James Shaw. When he saw the spill and the can, he agreed that the lid was not properly secured and had me file a claim. Fast forward to today, when I heard back from Home Depot's insurance agency, only to be told that my claim was denied based off of the manager's statement - the same manager who agreed with me a week ago. Apparently, since I was able to get the paint from the counter to my vehicle, Home Depot was not liable for the spill. Guess I couldn't expect to make it to my destination without incident as well. Furthermore, I was told that paint lids are not supposed to stay on if the can is tipped over. I call complete BS on that. This would not have happened if the associate had properly secured the lid. I am not impressed with this store or company as a whole and will not be giving them my business ever again. read more

I went the Home Depot for a Penske truck rental. I was told to return it prior to 9:45pm, in which I did! I was told at the time of me returning the truck that my refund will be sent out in 3-5 days. This happened on the 26th of August. It's now the 6th of September and still no refund! I paid the Home Depot a visit to find out where my refund is, and all they can tell me after 10 minutes of for my info is that I have to call Penske! I took the information for Penske and went to my car, while still in the parking lot, made a phone call to Penske Carrollton Office. After calling about 6 times I finally got ahold of someone. They told me that the money should be on my account and that it was only a hold put on my account and the actual total was charged when the truck was returned. I clearly told the person, while staring at my bank account, that there was to form of transaction and that the entire total is still in the withdrawn portion of my account nothing was deposited. The person then told me that they will call support center and give me a call back in about 5 minutes. Well dang I waited over 30 minutes in my car because I didn't want to leave Home Depot incase I had to go back inside! I was really irritated at this point and decided to call the reservations number that I was given. Called them and representative Eric answered the phone. He was able to explain to me that Home Depot did NOT complete the transaction therefore my money was never in transaction to be returned!!! He also pointed out that they spelled my name wrong when they put it in the system! Lastly he pointed out that I'm not the only person to have a uncompleted transaction! Don't get me wrong this location is good for needs in the store but when it comes to renting the trucks on their property they are not to par. It's someone's money that they are messing with. In this case it's mine and this is why they received a 2-star rating! I received a receipt and everything thinking that my transaction and rental agreement was completed. My advice is to always double check and make sure that they complete your transaction! read more

I've started going to Lowes instead... After 18 years of coming here I've started going to Lowes instead. Why? Better selection, better stocked inventory, better prices and their 5% off credit card. About half the time I go to this Home Depot location they are out of stock or don't have what I'm looking for. Then I go to Lowes and there it is. Just bought a garage door, prices at Home Depot were about 15% higher, and I could go on with example after example. Plus Lowes has contractor pricing. So if you want a lot of something they give you an even bigger discount. Next is the Lowes credit card. Save 5% every time you buy?.... I'm in. Amy in the cabinet department made very important mistakes in the design of my kitchen that weren't installed until after the cabinets were installed. I did initial the design but some things couldn't be noticed in pictures and other things were omitted that I overlooked. But ultimately she changed the plans and wouldn't take responsibility so she could cover her butt. This job would have been much better with almost any other designer I am a contractor for 40 years and would never do Buisness there again. read more
