This review is specifically for the kids monthly workshop. Today we attended the kids workshop at The Home Depot in Port Chester, and it was a fabulous experience! The event was very well organized, and the staff were friendly, patient, and helpful with the children. Everything was provided--wood pieces, hammers, nails, screwdrivers, paint, and all the other materials needed to complete the project. Best of all, the workshop is completely free. The projects are fun, hands-on, and a great way for kids to build confidence and creativity. These workshops are offered on a monthly basis, making them a wonderful activity for families. Each month it's a different project. The project for June was a goalie game. The kit includes a cute pin and certificate as well. It's super cute. You have to sign up online through the Home Depot website. Highly recommend! read more

Older white man gave me the wrong screws for my license plate even after I showed him the exact screw I needed. It cracked my license plate cover and he basically told me welp there's nothing I can do. No refund offer or anything for the screws so now I'm sitting in my car at an auto body shop waiting to see if they can un do the fck up home depot did. read more

I have such mixed feeling about this Home Depot. Depending on the time of day you go it's either jampacked and you fight for the last spot or you come here when there is no staff and you left walking around clueless trying to find someone who might be able to help out . It is a shame that this garden section gets overlooked. Sometimes you definitely do see a good amount of plants that are died forgotten about. .... But at the same time, they do have such an amazing selection, depending on when you go! We were able to get some really good priced shrubs for the garden. I do wish that there was a bigger selection of indoor plants and just overall new products. It kind of feels like Home Depot has been stuck, selling the same things over and over. Staff at the store it can be a hit or miss as well. Sometimes they have an attitude which I understand customers here are quite nasty and rude most days however definitely short staffed. I like that this one is closer to me, but I would prefer to go to the Stamford one . read more

Okay 3 stars might be pushing it a bit. The reason for this rating was due to the gentleman that assisted me. I was looking for a programmable thermostat. According to the website the store had plenty. I find the location but because nothing was in its place I thought I was out of luck. Kerran and I hope I spelled his name correctly confirmed the item was in stock and found a box. At first I thought he was going to climb the shelves and retrieve the item but no he got the steps and proceeded to go the lazy route! This store still needs a lot of work to make it more consumer friendly, like making sure items are clearly marked and in their right location. As for pricing, in this current environment that is a tough call. Even Amazon was priced at the same dollar amount. read more

I hired Home Depot for a top of the line HVAC installation, they subbed the job out. It's been a year and the system has never cooled my home properly. Despite more than eight service visits, multiple inspections, and even damage caused to my ductwork during installation, Home Depot and CM Mechanical say the equipment is fine and blame my existing ducts--even though the old system worked perfectly for 17 years. Their only "solution" has been to offer me a less than 3% credit instead of fixing the problem. After months of wasted time and a summer in a hot house, I still don't have a working HVAC system. I ordered plantation shutters for my house from Home Depot. They apparently work with an affiliate company called "Custom Decorators" for this. The installers had to come 6 times from July to December in order to finally complete my order. The shutters would either come damaged or they would send the wrong shutters configuration and they would make this mistake over and over, all the while having me take time off from work to provide the installers access to my home. The installers would gas light me into thinking I needed to settle for their damaged goods as if this was the norm... shutters that literally were peeling, dented, chipped... shutters that did not fit correctly... shutters that would fold like an accordion on the left side, but open/close like a normal door on the right side. I had to send numerous emails, send pics over and over again, and make a ridiculous amount of phone calls to get minimal accountability and unsatisfactory results. The only apology I ever received was from the employee I originally discussed the project with at Home Depot in Port Chester, NY and even then, I never heard from her again after the 2nd round of issues (out of 6). This got escalated to so many people and not a single one of them followed through on their resolutions. I pretty much had to start from scratch every time. In addition to all of this, my newly refinished floors and newly painted window sills were also damaged upon installation. I was able to remedy the floors myself, but the window sills need a new paint job. After going back and forth, I was able to get a $300 credit via check. I had to follow up after the check never arrived in the time frame they provided. All in all, it was a TERRIBLE experience. I strongly recommend that you do NOT get your window treatments from Home Depot or its affiliated partners. I regret ever doing business with them. They deserve 0 stars! read more

Not even a hello or a you're welcome, neither a good morning nor a good night. I am Hispanic and tried communicating with them in Spanish and they spoke to me in English but they were perfectly speaking Spanish with their other workers. The garden center here is great this time of year. They have a ton of cool and colorful perennials and really cheap prices compared to local nurseries. I realize they can't compete with corporate monsters like Home Depot but what can I do? My gardening budget for the season goes so much farther here. I priced out 15 plants at my area shop, and for the same price I wound up getting 20 plants, 8 bags of soil, 2 bags of fertilizer, and 5 bags of mulch and 2 planters. Secondly, when we approached three guys shoveling snow the one who did answer our question sounded like he had rocks in his mouth. The trees they had were sloppy and all poorly kept. This Home Depot racially discriminated against my boyfriend and I (Couple of color). We came into Home Depot to buy a Recycling Garbage bin, citronella candles, and pipes to replace a bathroom sink. In all we had 5 items between both of us. When going to checkout we used the self checkout. My boyfriend rang up the 2 bathroom sink replacement kits under one order which he paid with his credit card and received a receipt. The next order which I rang was 3 items (recycling garbage bin, and 2 mosquito repellents) which I paid for and received a receipt. When walking up to the register the female worker came right over to watch our transactions. Once we both paid and were exiting walking towards our vehicle we were chased down and stopped by a female employee saying that we did not pay for all our items. We showed the woman BOTH receipts and all the items that were purchased. She insisted that we needed to go back inside the with our purchases and confirm with the initial female employee who watched us rang everything up. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE and I will never shop at this location again! The absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced from any store. I asked to speak with an assistant manager, she hid from me for 30 minutes; I asked to speak with a store manager, a 2nd assistant manager came out instead; I asked to still speak with a store manager (I'm awaiting any sort of communication 3 days later); I asked for my issues to be escalated to a district manager (still haven't heard anything in 3 days). Been jerked around for over 2 weeks on 2 separate orders, taken multiple days off of work (with no results), and I'm the one who has to follow up in store on a Saturday (and spend multiple hours there until I get some sort of answer) and then have to follow up by phone the Monday after (although I was promised a call before 12 pm). Although Colin, Nelson, Heather and Tamara were helpful overall - I still haven't heard from Carlos (the store manager) or the district manager. I still don't know if I'm going to move into an apartment in 2 weeks with or without a floor and a fridge. No matter what it costs me, I will never give this Home Depot my money for appliances or installations. read more

I would give it a zero if I could - purchased 2.5k in bathroom remodel materials - toilet bowl cracked - purchased tank and bowl together - plumber installed everything except cracked bowl - he got a new one at time of work - - tank ok, sink ok: pedestal sink ok - bowl cracked - I tried to return bowl - was told by Marinela who said she was store manager, and Chiquita customer service supervisor on phone that I had to have the plumber remove the installed tank so I can return the bowl and tank together and then repurchase, and then have my plumber reinstall - I simply wanted to get a credit for a cracked toilet bowl - so the remedy for me is to have plumber come back uninstall bowl and tank, return it - wait for a new tank and bowl to be shipped to store (not stocked in store) and then call plumber and have him come back again - install, uninstall and install - because of a cracked bowl from Home Depot. As a final insult, I called customer service and was told I would get a call back within 48 hours - after 3 days I called back to have Chiquita tell me to have the plumber come back and u install everything g to return it. A simple $150 credit on $2.5k - is there any retailer that cares about customers and has some common sense - DO NOT ORDER YOUR REMODEL FROM HOME DEPOT - go to your locally owned stores - same prices and great service read more

We wanted to have a kitchen cabinet refacing and it took us a while to make a decision to go for Home Depot. We saw other companies and costs are not much different so we went for Home Depot that offered financing option. We were pleased with the outcome. The sales guy, Charles is very knowledgeable and helped us design the cabinetry in making changes. Actual contractor is very nice as well. Only drawdown with us is the contractor lives on the other side of the bridge so they are sometimes late. Overall we are pleased with the outcome. Will recommend. read more

Place is disorganized, though -- things showing stock online are invariably not available or to be found. Haven't had any issues when shopping here like some other reviewers. Well, there was one staff member who worked the paint section, but it wasn't an issue where I left livid. So no, no issues here. Their gardening section is great. My family and I are trying to grow some vegetables this summer (I don't have a green thumb), just because I'm sick of going to the grocery store and never being able to pick up certain veggies (like onions) because they're rotting. Seriously. You know how hard it is to want to cook meals when you can't use onions? It's very frustrating. And I keep forgetting to check Whole Foods for them, which makes me even more frustrated as I come home and realize, "Crap, can't make this dish for dinner tonight because I don't have onions. Nice job space cadet." And now, as I think about the five pots outside as it's pouring rain, I think my plants my be drowning. Anyway, so the gardening section is great. They had organic seeds and soil at decent prices. The soil smells terrible and my dog tries to eat it, but what can you do? The paint section has lots of options, and buying the samples is a great way to paint half a wall, if you so choose. It helped a bunch as I tried to pick a color for my bedroom wall. I literally ended up painting each wall a different color and then picking that way, so yay for lots of paint. Boo for the bright colors being difficult to actually paint over, though. The guy who sold us a gallon this weekend told us to come back with the lid if we ran out. Well he told my mom that, I was off looking at other color swatches, so I'm not sure if he meant for free, or at a discount, or what. Staff is generally helpful. We've never had issues finding someone when we needed help. Check out is easy because it's the self checkout at the machines. I wouldn't use the installation services here, though. We had that done when I was a lot younger, and they did a terrible job. read more
