    Mini Skid Steer rental...
    Gary W.

I am usually a fan for Home Depot, but they hurt my feelings on this go around. Needed to use a Mini Skid Steer for some Yard Grading. Nothing like doing some big yard project to bring out the kid in you. Nevertheless, this location is one of but a few stores where you can rent a Mini Skid Steer. There is no reservation and first come first serve, so I called a day prior to ensure they had one available. I show up bright and early at the Rental counter getting ready to seize the day and the gentleman started to paperwork process then I was informed that it would be a deposit of $1500. I thought maybe I heard incorrectly so I informed him that I am just renting for the day and should come out to $349 before taxes. He stated to me that, "Due to previous theft of property with fraudulent Driver's License and Insurance that HD had to change the policy to protect their assets and that I would get the deposit back after turn in of equipment minus the $349+ taxes for rental. " I understand, but dang. You have to scan a QR code, take a pic of your DL and show insurance. I go over the paperwork, perform the inspection of equipment, hook up the trailer, perform function checks of lighting and I am off to play in the dirt. Well, after downloading the Mini Skid Steer and scooping 2 bucket fulls of fill dirt, it started emitting white smoke and sputtering. It did this two more times before I conceded. It has only been 2 hours and it was a holiday weekend so the 1-800 number to techs stated they were off for the weekend. I take the equipment back to HD and explain the issue. The clerk had to have a Manager override so I explained the situation to him also and they refunded my full amount back. After later talking to the clerk, he informed me that the equipment was recently serviced so it should be operationally sound, but I think either an oil seal had a small crack or someone mixed unleaded with diesel gas by accident. Still a good value for the DIYer, but now I have to find another location to rent the equipment. The quest begins...

Aisles are for storage, not shopping customers

This is every aisle in Porter Home Depot EVERY TIME we go. Just full of crap. How do you expect customers to pull product if you put obstacles EVERYWHERE. Why do I have to move mountains of baskets of returns to get to the items I want to buy. I mean, HD sells a lot of little things, but you also sell very large things and it's nearly impossible to move them through the aisles to get to the checkout. GET IT TOGETHER!

The length of my last phone call with customer service.

I ordered a playset for my nephew on May 16th. The place it was for his birthday and we were having a party for him and the kids over the weekend. The item was originally slated to be delivered between the 30th and no later than June 5th. I called home Depot in the evening on June 5th to find out if the delivery was running late. At this point I was told that the delivery would be arriving no later than June 7th. On June 7th in the afternoon I called to find out if they had a delivery window or eta. I was told that the delivery is handled by a third party vendor and they would not be updating a delivery date for another Forty-Eight hours because the item did not arrive to them until June 5th. I got the tracking number from home Depot customer service and called AAA Cooper. The third party company had no record of the delivery or any record of deliveries going to the address. I called back customer service and the lady said that it was just picked up and they don't have it in their system so they don't have an estimated date. I asked to speak with a supervisor and waited 30 mins on hold before hanging up so I could return to work. After I got off of work I was on the phone with another customer service representative and a supervisor for over an hour and a half in order to get the issue resolved. The conclusion was that the company had picked up the item from home Depot and it was not in their system so after over twenty days from the original order date they could not provide me with an estimated delivery date because they did not even have a tracking number that works. This is not doing the right thing this is not taking care of the customer and this goes against the values home Depot has set. I would be very appalled to see that nobody in upper management addresses this issue with the third party vendor that home Depot trust to conduct their business. The issue currently is still not resolved and I am waiting for tracking so I can try and coordinate with my company last minute to take time off to receive a bulky expensive item when/if it comes in. I would not recommend ordering anything online from home Depot. If it's not in the stores don't bother, go to another vendor. I just received an update as of today: the item was lost home depot accepted no responsibility for the lost item. The manager for customer service said she does not care the item was lost. Her manager does not take calls and does not care about customer service. I had to pay out of pocket to reorder the item, because there is a 3 to 5 day wait to get my money back. Otherwise I could order it after the money came back and have an even later delivery date. I could not even get a guarantee that the same third party would not be shipping the new one. The home Depot does not care about the community or the customer. Not sure who to post this under since it is online order and an issue with home Depot as a whole. I was on the phone with them for over 12 hours over the last five days. My last call was almost 3 hours long. They think they can push around customers and protect the corporate people from these negative comments by not allowing things to be escalated. I challenge any corporate person in home depot to actually read this review.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT: The Home Depot "Pro" Referral is a scam. They put us into contact with a "Pro" who destroyed our home and took our money. Home Depot claims that "From start to finish, ALL WORK IS BACKED BY THE HOME DEPOT." Not true. They will offer you $500 if you are dissatisfied with the referral. I am out $7,000 and have to deal with the mess left behind by their "Pro". DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT PRO REFERRAL. There is nothing professional about it.

I visited this Home Depot last night to find a stud finder and the moment I got there...with that lost look in my face...I was greeted by one of the workers...I explained to him what I was looking for and he took me directly to the section where I could find the stud finders...he then took the time to explain each of the items...and me not being a handyman at all...I really paid attention to the lesson he was giving me...after he finished explaining everything...I chose a nice one...thanked him for his time...and left...I don't know if all the employees are as nice as he was...but if so...I'll be coming back to this location often

We were attempting to request a simple refund for my father-in-law who has difficulty hearing. I assumed he misunderstood something when he came home with more lumber and no refund. I returned to the Porter location where the manager was very helpful in attempting to explain and reach out to the Jensen location for approval for the refund. She came back with the same answer so I attempted to call and explain that my father-in-law never received the material and the material was not even available during the 15 refund window they were holding him to. Christopher was immediately snarky and spoke to me like a child, he told me to stop crying just because I wasn't getting what I wanted and to get over it because they can do what they want. He said he reports to himself and has no boss when I told him he was being unprofessional and I wanted to speak to someone else. If this is what Martin stands for as far as customer service, I hope people see them for what they are and make their purchases elsewhere.

It didn't, and when I tried to return it, they stated it was out of the package (which it was) and they couldn't offer one, but the reel was still wrapped and unused (how else would I know if it fit). I understand they don't want opened returns, but I bought it upon the advice of an employee. Go with Amazon. Cheaper, more reliable (if you can believe that) and you can return something that doesn't fit, even when told it would. Or even better, go to a mom and shop hardware store and not a corporate one, although I'm sure ACE would be unhappy with this franchise's failure towards proper customer service considering the circumstances.

Knowledgeable and Trustworthy!…read more I have a 15+ year old refrigerator that neither the refrigerator or freezer were working. Akai inspected the entire unit and indicated the issue was the defroster in the freezer wasn't working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me what I thought was a very fair price but before I could say "Shut up and take my money!" he added that when he had unplugged the unit & plugged it back in, when starting up again the compressor sounded a bit suspicious. Thus he indicated I could go ahead and pay him to install a new defroster in the freezer, but it is only a matter of time before the compressor craps out and then replacing it would be over $1,000 and not worth it. So get this....he proposes that I defrost it the old school way by unplugging it, opening both the freezer & fridge doors, placing towels in front of the unit, and allowing all of the ice to melt and then just mop up all the water with towels and my wet vac and that would solve the problem for now. And in a few months when the issue occurs again I can just repeat the old school defrosting method until the compressor finally goes kaput, and then get a brand new refrigerator. Sure enough, I proceeded to do exactly what he recommended and lo and behold the fridge & freezer started working properly again. And I am all too happy to repeat every few months to squeeze every last bit of life from this old fridge until I have to get a new one. Akai could have very easily kept quiet about the compressor sounding sketchy and that it could fail in 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years and gotten a nice service order for replacing the defroster since he had already devoted the valuable time & effort to come to my house. However, he instead chose to be completely honest and forthcoming which is not as common as it should be and is very appreciated. I have saved his contact info and the next time I have any issues with any appliances he will be the technician I call. Knowledge and experience is great and there are a lot of qualified & knowledgeable appliance repair companies out there. However, also possessing honesty and integrity is why I strongly recommend Akai for any appliance repair issues.
