This was my first visit to this Home Depot. It was seriously opposite of most. I was looking for an item that I didn't think they would stock because I've never seen it before at their stores. I asked an employee, he looked it up and said it shows in their system that they might have some in stock. Then a second employee got involved, then they sent me to another employee. The store is very close to our home in Red Bluff and Lowe's is all the way to Redding...we will be going to Lowe's from now on. Ordered 9 windows with screens for $9500 in November...put them on my Home Depot card. They were very prompt with taking the order and our money...however, the deliver took the maximum amount of time for delivery. I was out of town on business when they installed and I couldn't believe the poor workmanship from their 3rd party vendor. I am pretty sure we were told it would be HD personnel doing the install. Anyway, and regardless the install was horrible. I complained and an installer from the 3rd party company and a HD rep came to our house...they took were "shocked" at the poor installation. When the original installers came, the didn't have the screens for the bathroom windows. They did nothing to inform HD of this shortage. Only when they came back to examine the poor installation were they informed...or at least that is what they said...who knows. Anyway, after several emails back in forth with the company telling how important this is, still no screens. I even told them they could just ship them to me and I will install. Today, May 2, yes, 5 months later I finally have given them two weeks to get me the screens or I will just have a reputable local company provide them for me and try and recover my cost from HD. My neighbor was going to have HD do their windows, but not after our experience. We also decided not to order a nearly $2000 custom door from HD after this experience. Buyer beware...completely over promise and under deliver...too bad, not the company they used to be. I was nearly in tears with frustration as something was delivered to my house damaged And I didnt have the means to take it back for an exchange. The store is a Home Depot for shopping, but you cannot rent equipment unless you get cleared by their third-party ID system which after two hours still does not know who I am. The associate was helpful that all she could, but she's unable to bypass the computer. This probably cost them about $3000 worth of rentals for this week. They say it cuts down on theft. I believe it if you can't rent it you can't take it off a lot you can't steal it. read more

Ya know, I read a lot of bad review of Home Depot at a lot of different locations and mostly having to do with service and hard to find help. If you already know Home Depot is like this, understaffed or whatever, be prepared. Having realistic expectations will go a long way. This isn't your neighborhood hardware store with helpful staff as you walk in. It's sort of do it yourself kind place. Better prices though. What I do is go online and shop the local store for products. Using the search engine you can find what you're looking for and then even the LOCATION of the item in this store, so no more walking around aimlessly or trying to find a guy in the orange vest to help you. I did that and found what I wanted right away. Just then go to the check out and off you go. Go to the contractor side of the store and the line is usually less. Now if you do really need help, like I did once to get a piece of lumber cut to what I needed, you can usually find someone in lumber to help you and they'll cut the wood for you for FREE! I ave no probs with this store, ya just gotta know how to use it and maybe look online first. read more

Everyone I know has security doors and I have never seen such a ridiculous way of installing them. Argh...i so loathe the thought of ever having to go to Home Depot. They make dealing with the DMV seem like you've died and gone to heaven. They all (i'm not exaggerating) act like they hate their jobs and hate themselves. It's like watching the walking dead when seeing them in their natural habitat (Which is trying to look busy so they don't have to help you). If by some miracle you find someone and ask for assistance, A) they have no clue what they are talking about and don't care that the information they provide to you is completely wrong and then B) they make you feel horrible for having the audacity to ask them for help in the first place. I actually found the product SKU and the Bin location before going one time, and just needed them to show me the aisle. My goodness, you would have thought i asked them for money or for their first born. Their customer service desk is a joke. Typically 4 or 5 people that work there, loitering around the area but when you go to get help, they don't even raise their head to look at you and god forbid they do look at you by accident, they walk away while you watch. I went their tonight to get a can of paint. Of course, no one was there, for five minutes. Walked back up to the front and asked "Janaye" (Spelling) if the paint department was open. She literally just looked at me for an uncomfortably long time before she said yes. I asked her if she could call someone to help me in the paint department and never got an acknowledgment beyond an eye roll. The only saving grace for the horrible interaction was that she actually came to the department and got my paint for me, albeit a while later. Go elsewhere! Do without! Let it leak! This has got to be the worst store for a Home Depot. I will drive to Redding for now on. Today was final straw. I'm a customer with 2 Home Depot credit cards who spends a very good amount of money. Today, I checked myself out of course because they can't find employees to work. The employee in charge of area is literally next to my cart watching everything I scan. I finish paying and take the receipt as SHE WATCHES ME. I'm walking to my car and she comes running out saying, ma'am you didn't finish paying." We know that's a lie because she watched me grab my receipt. I said, "excuse me? What do you mean I have my receipt right here." She requests to see it and she reads off everything in my cart. I'm so offended by this because I'm not a thief! I'm a GOOD customer and she literally watched every thing I did. There was no other customers but me. All day long thieves enter this store and walk right out but you choose an honest paying customer who you detailed at the checkout to come running outside like I was a thief IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE! Wow.... All I wanted to do was go in garden shop and the doors from outside were closed because they had no employee although the hours for the door were suppose to be open. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. My wife and I purchased a brand new washer and dryer from Home Depot in February of this year. 3 days after the units were delivered we started our laundry and realized that the dryer did not heat up at all and had somehow damaged our nice throw blanket. I immediately reached out to Home Depot customer service to schedule a return and pickup of this faulty product and was told that I only had a 48 hour return window. I was told to see if the store I purchased it from was willing or able to give me a refund. The next day I went back to the location where I had purchased the appliance (Red Bluff Ca. Home Depot) and explained to them that the dryer was delivered broken and I wanted my money back. I even explained to them that the staff there at that location had not disclosed the 48 hour return policy. They were extremely rude and absolutely no help. They even admitted that the associate who sold it to us didn't even work in the appliance department but would offer no help to resolve the issue. They were more than happy to take our money but had zero interest in make sure they were selling a functional product. The only way to describe this is STEALING. As I type this review it has been almost 8 months and throughout several manufacture warranty repairs the dryer is currently not operational. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS HOME DEPOT FOR ANYTHING! Especially any large purchases. We trusted the name Home Depot before this experience as they are a household name but NEVER AGAIN. There are no more grouches at the return desk. I have made HD home away from home. Every weekend it seems like I am there picking up stuff for some project or other. The store in Red Bluff is smaller than usual, but they are pretty good about keeping in stocks the stuff a regular homeowner needs. Staff is always asking if I need any help finding something. Summertime is busy in the PVC Sprinkler Department, but so far they have had all the fitting I need to repair my watering system. Ben is especially helpful. Next project is water tank replacement. Good people but not always up to the challenge. Plumbing Dept has always been a mess. If you have ever had a plumbing job and tried to go get what you need you will find it difficult. People in charge must not have much experience because they fill the shelves with boxes of the same while they lack a lot of necessary connections. Don't bother to check missing items. Here we go again. 3 weeks and no fridge. I spoke to the store manager who told me that that particular company was So busy that they were behind in stock. How horrible but she had the wrong company. I was hot, to divert my madness she proceeded to tell me her personal holiday tragedies . Sorry, ‍ don't care , I want the fridge I paid for almost a month ago. Forgot to mention when I called yesterday, they had no record of us purchasing. Good thing I'm just up the hill. They knew me when I showed up waving paperwork. Today was an absolute disappointment. Went in for a quick gallon of paint. There was one person working in the paint section, at least 7 people waiting for help. 45 minutes later two employees came to help and they both seemed so confused. The managers need to work their scheduling skills. Why do you schedule 1 employee on a Saturday, I'm sure one of the busiest days. I would give a negative star if I could. read more

Try to get someone willing to help and not busy visiting with other employees is difficult. In general help is few and far between. Occasionally there is a willing and helpful employee. MARCO. That's all I have to say to describe every single successful trip to the Garden Center at Home Depot. His patience, his kindness, his unbelievable knowledge, and most importantly, his customer service is what has us driving to this location instead of Redding, despite Redding being closer. Through Marco's words, we have turned our yard into an oasis. He has recommended the appropriate bark, how to lay it, what plants will survive through the harsh Redding summers, and how we can continue to be drought-efficient. I've taken photos of my (pre-Marco) dying plants, and he's inspected them and taken me to get the exact fertilizer I need to keep them growing. He really is someone truly special. My fiance and I plan our Home Depot trips around his work hours because we've never met someone as kind and knowledgeable at any department store. So thank you Red Bluff for hiring this gem, and thank you Marco for always leaving us with a smile and convincing us to buy way more than we anticipated (in a good way, of course)! read more

I'm very upset with Home Depot our local store. It has always done an excellent job but on October 29th someone had Stole my daughters Home Depot card made 3 purchases and 3 returns. On the returns a few hundred dollars against their own POLICY they gave cash back. Local store refuses to help!!!! Inside job maybe? Purchased the last 3 wall blocks (#1004-959-491) in stock of 17 needed. I was assured that there were 300+in stock and the garden display would be restocked. Came back in a couple of days and no blocks. Again I was assured that they had them, but I had no time to wait. Came back again and no blocks. Requested help and finally, after 15 minutes, a Home Depot employee showed up to research where the blocks were. Could not find the in the garden area and advised that he would check the outside backstock...but, if they were not at ground level he could not help us as there was no forklift available. After another 20 wasted minutes he advised that he could not find them. Placed order with "will call" who advised that they had 250 in stock. Delivery date for 8/30. Never received a call from Home Depot. Checked at the store on 8/30 but no blocks ready for me but I was assured again that they had them. 9/1 I checked at the store for the blocks, as I had no calls from Home Depot, as was told that they had none.....computer error was the excuse. Obtained a refund of my deposit and will shop for the blocks at Lowes who DOES have them in stock and DOES give me a military discount. read more

If you need home improvement or remodeling supplies, drive to Redding or Chico. This store has horrible service and does not restock until every unit of an item is sold. For example, you may need a certain brushed nickle door hinge, and the only one hinge left on the shelf is ont thats been opened and is missing parts, they will not reorder thise hinges until someone buys the last one. The paintdepartment claims they. An match anything. I went through about 15 samples with the sales associate and she could not match a paint that id mixed from two of their samples id previously purchased. They put returned items back on the shelves even if they are borken, so examile your purchases so you don't accidentally pick one up. Dogs do not belong in stores. I shouldnt have to deal with stinky panting drioling dogs, that belong to peopel seeking ac or a place to set up their tent out of the rain under the loading awning. read more

Bought an $1800 washer and dryer, it's missing at least 2 parts, had to load it myself at the store. I live 4 hours away so not easy to just pop back and get the missing parts. No one ever answers the phone either, just listened to the ring sound for 10 minutes before giving up and hanging up. LOVE HOME DEPOT... but Romanoff Renovations is NOT A RELIABLE SUBCONTRACTOR!!! As a subcontractor for Home Depot Romanoff Renovations is not dependable or reliable to work with. Every appointment they made, they always showed up well after their scheduled appointment and when it came to do the work they, always had an excuse of why they couldn't do the work. After a month of incompetence on their end we canceled our $4500.00 order through Home Depot and took our business elsewhere. I DO NOT recommend Home Depot using Romanoff Renovations AT ALL!!!!!!!! Today, my mother purchased a BBQ grill from Home Depot. She was buying it for me as a surprise gift. My mother is elderly and needed help loading the grill onto her truck. They put the grill on the truck but refused to help her tie it down. My mom, who is in her 70s had to climb into her truck bed and tie it down by herself. She got one block away and the grill fell over. She had to go back to Home Depot because it was too heavy to lift herself to assess the damages. Once she was back, they refused to exchange it or take it as a return and of course refused to help her tie it down better. I guess it is against their policy to help elderly people. I've never had issues with employees at Lowe's helping me tie down an item on my truck. Also, the employee who first went out with her to put the grill in her truck made sure to inform her that she was getting off work in 10 mins. Needles to say, her and I will continue to shop at Lowe's from now on. read more

Even asked a second person. there hand held devoce said they had 14!...but No one could locate! I purchased an Amana washing machine in March of 2016. I also purchased a three year extended protection plan for the washing machine. In October of 2017, the washing machine needed to be repaired. Everything went great with the extended protection plan. Over the next year and a half, this washing machine continued to need to be repaired. In March of this year, the plan expired, but the washing machine was still not fixed and working properly. The warranty company offered to fix it at no cost. I was told to call Home Depot and ask for an extended protection plan. It has been over three weeks and I have not heard anything. Today, (April 24, 2019), I called Home Depot and the customer representative informed me that I could not purchase an extended protection plan due to being past the expiration date. I wonder if Home Depot knew that this appliance model might be a lemon? read more

We called before we headed to Red Bluff, as we don't live there & the guy on the phone told us if we came in and picked out carpet, it could be installed the next day, 2 days later at the most. So we drove to Red Bluff & they had no one working in the flooring section! They said no one had been there all evening & there was no one to help us. A few employees tried to help but basically said come back tomorrow, we can't help you set up installation. (We ended up buying/installing carpet locally where we live instead of going back to Home Depot after the hassle). I just feel as a business, you should have at least one employee in every department to help accommodate people; especially when they want to spend good money like that. Plus note! We had went to Home Depot for different reasons a few weeks ago & I will say Teddi was so helpful! She knew her stuff & had answers to all of our questions. I was in the store today, and bought ten gallons of paint. The lady who helped me, in that department, was very nice. I think her name was Rach? Anyway she was very nice, and explained to me that all my paint was put on a card, that had my discounts along with it. She told me to just hand the card to the cashier, and a manager would be called to verify. I also had other items in my cart, and went on my way to pay. The cashier, Jannis, started ringing up my items and when she started scanning my paint individually, I told her that the paint was all on the card that I had. I explained to her what the lady in the paint department had told me. She went ahead and voided out the paint,scanned the card I handed to her, and the manager came and did his thing. I noticed that she didn't charge me for my rug, and I asked her if she had charged me for it. She just huffed and rudely said to me," Um no because as I was scanning you said that everything was on the card!" I said to her, " All the paint was on the card." She then said," Well let me go back here." She did something on her register and as she was scanning the rug, she sarcastically said to me, " Is there anything else?!" Wow! Very rude and uncalled for attitude! I guess I could have just walked out with a free rug, but no I'm an honest person and would never take something that wasn't mine! When I told her that the paint was all on the card, the only thing she voided was the paint, not the other items she had scanned before the paint! I even double checked my receipt, just to make sure I was charged for everything! Jannis deserves no stars at all, maybe more training on customer service!
