Went in to pick up two fans I ordered delivered to this store How pleasant it was to be greeted and serve by a gentleman named Frank at the service desk He had trouble keying in the proper code to find it He asked the lead trainer she just said you can't scan you have to type the numbers in Frank apologized and kept trying with no result What the lead trainer came over she looked pissed and dressed in my opinion Frank down because he didn't enter a hash mark She left I told Frank to relax and take his time we're all learning He graciously helped with loading the product to my car Frank is an asset to your store please get him some tech help to improve skills he shouldn't be stuck new and on his own But if I owned Home Depot Frank would have a job for life because he is customer service orientated Good luck Frank enjoyed meeting you boomer to boomer lol read more

This The Home Depot has been my go-to for years and even though there's been some not-so-great experiences throughout the years, overall it is still my favorite place to shop for all of our home and garden needs. Some things to keep in mind with this The Home Depot is that during the mornings (weekdays and weekends) they can get very busy with all the orders from contractors, so if you need to get ahold of someone for a specific transaction I would recommend coming later in the day. Their garden section is always amazing and they do carry a wide selection of indoor and outdoor houseplants. I also like that they started to offer discounts on some of our regional plants that are better for our San Antonio weather. If you are looking to purchase a shed, please keep in mind that there is one person managing those transactions across multiple stores. So make sure to give them a call ahead of time to see when they will be at this location so you can plan your trip accordingly. Last but not least, I recently purchased some "exotic" plants at this location and they misplaced them and had a cheaper price tag from what they were supposed to be. I am one of the fastest home depot shoppers you'll meet and this place is my go to! The store is laid out well and always clean. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of home items here at this location. I have ordered a truck to haul materials, too. You name it I have probably bought it here at this location...everything from paint, tubs, toilets, landscaping plants, cleaning supplies, tools, appliances, and we bought a bunch of lumber and materials to build a fence, too. There are self checkout lines, military discount of 10% when you connect your ID to account, and a Pro Services desk and the customer service/returns team that are very helpful, too! Review based on affiliation and alliance with sweetwater home services water softener company: Well I at least feel a little better knowing that I am not the only person to have the exact same problems with this company. I was approached at home depot and my hair had been breaking and I had been hauling 5 gallon jugs of alkaline water for years. I was happy to get a water softener because this company made it sound as though moving it would be no big deal. They said that moving the equipment would be around a couple hundred dollars. I was happy to hear this because I knew we were eventually going to want to get a home with a pool. This was misrepresentation and obviously a ploy to rope the consumer into a very expensive contract to finance very expensive equipment. When I moved the man came out and removed the equipment and boxed it up and told me to call back for the re-install. when I called back I was told it would around $2,000-$3,000 to reconnect the equipment. WHAAAT?!? Then I was told to send pictures and they would have the plumber look at it and get back to me. Three emails later and no response. I would even be willing to pay a reasonable amount to have the $8,000 system hooked up but they have as the other reviewer said "disappeared". I mean $3000 on top of the $8000 that I am already making payments on for equipment that sits in a box in my garage. I am going to call kens 5 and see if they can do anything because this company has no professionalism or integrity of any sort and obviously it is not just me that feels that way. Look at my other reviews, I am not one of those crazies that has nothing better to do than leave bad reviews for everyone. I was pleased to have the water softener but apparently once they get their money from PCI then they are done with you. I would love to call someone else to install it but I'm certain that would void the warranty which I have zero faith in any way , obviously. If they approach you in home depot do not stop. NEVER EVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED DESCRIMINATION/DISRESPECT AT A BIG BOX STORE...UNTIL TODAY. So went to this Home Depot because the one close to me had little stock of the drip irrigation parts I needed (online showed Alamo had enough). I went and grabbed the pieces I needed and also got two 2" pvc pipes and then went to self checkout since that was the next available register. I scanned the 2 pvc pipes and the first box of drip parts, placed it in the bag and started scanning the next batch of pieces. All of a sudden this employee named Charles comes thru and says if I needed help and I said Im fine just finishing up the order. He insisted that he has to help because there are a lot of pieces. So I said, "ok go right ahead." Now what happens after is what pissed me off. He then reopens my first bag and starts rescanning everything from the beginning. And I politely asked, "Why are you redoing everything?" He says, "Normally an order like this goes thru the register." WTF?!?!?? Right away I told him bluntly, "Are you trying to imply that Im stealing??" He said no and again that my order has to go thru the register. So I asked for the manager and he tried to redirect me to the register once more. Then he said, "Just to let you know, your count is wrong." Right when he said that, an elderly female employee came by and asked him a question. He then asked her to bring me to the register but there was a customer waiting. So he asked her to take his place and finish my order. At this moment I'm already fuming right now because I already knew what he meant from that remark...but I kindly asked the lady to recount what was in my bag and see if it was 25 pieces because Charles said my count was wrong. She recounted and showed me it was 25. Plus she was very nice and even she apologized. I told her not to worry and it is not her fault. I asked for the manager and he was closeby and told him what occurred. Didn't get his name but he was African American and very polite. I pointed to him the employee Charles that was now at the register and expressed to him how disgusted, descriminated and disrespected I felt. He apologized and told me he will speak to him. WORST EXPERIENCE. And placed the pictures here as proof and receipt when the time and date it occurred. The employees will know each and every aisle in the store and often times walk you directly to the item you are asking about. The best part about this location is that it is super close. I live nearby and have made several visits over the years and every time I walk out mad and am reminded why I don't shop here regularly In the past issues with finding employees in the window and door sections have been frustrating. Curbside pickup? Be prepared to wait. My most recent visit was for paint. I needed 2 colors (gray and a light purple). The girl at counter seemed lost and when she couldn't answer my question, she mentioned it was her first day. I got my mixed paint and when I began my project the next day, my gray color seemed to have a purple tint to it. While not ideal, I used all the gray and decided I'd try to return the purple. When I went to the returns counter, I had to interrupt the girl from her phone. When I explained that the other can seemed off and that it was mixed by a new employee, customer service says, "No refunds. See?" and points to a sticker on the can. I again tried to explain the situation and was then told to go talk to the Paint Dept and see if they'll accept. Weird but I go to Paint and the girl there also seemed put out before I said a word. I explain the situation and she can't understand why I'd want to return. Frustrated, I just picked up the can and said it's not worth this hassle. She then says "OK. Just tell them I said you can return it." I go back to customer service, tell the same girl as before and without a word she process the return. I would've asked for a manager but one didn't seem to be around, which isn't surprising with how this store operates. This will likely be my last visit to this location. read more

I wish there was a way to give zero stars. We stood at the paint desk for over 20 minutes waiting for someone after help to the paint desk was paged. When an associate finally showed up, another, super inconsiderate man swept in front of us, asking for assistance. We explained that we had been waiting and we're the ones who paged for assistance, to which the associate, "Yanni", replied "Well I saw him first." With a dismissive attitude and shrug. I purchased a refrigerator through The Home Depot website. The delivery was a disaster. I was on the phone repeatedly for many hours of musical hold for many phone calls, including several conversations with their so-called Resolution Team. Long story short, their initial delivery failed because they were not permitted entry into our subdivision. Home Depot said they were turned away even though they had valid IDs. Home Depot refused to tell me what kind of ID they were calling valid IDs. Eventually, Home Depot promised me that for the next delivery attempt the driver would have the required valid driver license and that helpers would have valid picture IDs. When they returned a couple of days later for the delivery, they were once again denied entry. This time, though, I had the truck driver's phone number because he had called to let me know he was on his way. During that call, I double checked that he got the word that delivery trucks cannot enter the main gate of my subdivision. Of course, he didn't know that. So I talked him through the directions to the correct gate. So, when I got a notification that he had been denied entry, I called him. He did not have a valid driver's license. His helper had a valid driver's license, but they had been given a truck with a manual transmission and his helper didn't know how to drive a manual transmission. To keep the story shorter, I drove the truck from the gate to my house and back. Otherwise, the delivery by Home Depot would never have been completed in my lifetime. read more

As a rule, I prefer Lowes for service but Home Depot has a nicer vibe to me and feels less big box. Their prices are higher but they have more unique items. This is my default location. I came here today to get weed and feed for my yard because the lawn lady finally came around to cutting my yard. Lower echelon lawn mower people are so unreliable but guess I can't complain since I name my own price. Anyway, prices at Home Depot do not make sense. A 12.5 lb bag of weed and feed is advertised as "on special" for $24. Yet the regular price 25 lb is $46. I do not like that they block shelves with ladders and such and there is no one around to ask for help. Lowes is much better about that. read more

I wanted to update this that it is now January 16th, and Home Depot still hasn't successfully come to pick up the broken freezer. We can't get anyone to answer the phone so we have been having to go in person to schedule someone to pick it up (we don't have a car big enough). Despite having been in person THREE times and scheduled people THREE separate times since I left my originally review, no I'm has come. I've stayed home to work and catch their absurd window of time (between 6am and 8pm) but I never even received so much as a call that the people were on their way - they just never showed. This was my first time visiting this location. Had a few things to pick up but also wanted to browse around. The store is as clean and well kept. Everything was where it belonged which made things easy to find. I was looking at flooring and the CSR was super helpful. Showing me prices and explaining the different ways that flooring could be installed and what I would need. Spent an excessive amount of time looking at all the things I want and need. I am not sure what department he actually specializes in but he has helped me numerous times not only finding items, but also giving great advice on how to tackle the complex improvement projects I have started. if I could give no stars I would. 13 mos ago I ordered countertop and kitchen cabinet doors and drawers. They decided I could not get the counter top due to "issues". The doors were installed in October, but because no one bothered to audit the supplies, there were no drawers. I lived out of boxes in the dining room until the night before Thanksgiving as drawers I had had were destroyed. Next issue...drawers did not glide back and doors hit each other. After attempting to reach someone in installation(they do not return phone calls), I went to the store. The managers at Sunset have been very nice and will get installation folks to call me. In May, a person came out to repair a floppy drawer and remeasure 2. He said they would be reordered and would be delivered in about 3 weeks. After 6/weeks I went to the store(again , installation will not return calls), the manager referred me to a liaison who got a call to me. Drawers came in but H.D. was "so busy" that I would have to get on a list. Sept. 17, between 9 and 12! Hurray, I thought. The day came, the hours passed...no call, no person to install. Nothing! I am beyond angry.I have paid $17,000 toward my bill and they will charge me a late fee if I don't pay. I have never had such poor service and will never ever use H.D. for any type of installation of anything. read more

You can do it, they can help. Good as long as you don't need help with anything. Trying to find a staff member can be like finding a metric hammer. They have a pretty good selection of stuff to do home remodels, with more of the high end stuff than the other Home Depots. They don't have as many of the construction materials as the other ones. They've got a large outdoors section, with lots of plants. It's generally clean. Check out can be a pain, especially when you go to the self-check out. That thing never seems to work right. They offer classes on Saturdays on things like how to lay a garden pathway, or lay linoleum. The returns desk is generally friendly and accepting of all the weird stuff I have to bring back. I decided to order online so I went directly to the product I was buying. I made sure I was calling the store located in Alamo Heights on 435 W. Sunset Rd. I proceeded to add all my products and chose the curbside pickup option. As I completed my purchase I reviewed everything and waited to hear from them on when my order was ready for pickup. At 6 pm they called and off I go to pick it up. As I approached the service center I immediately felt the service attendant had an attitude. I gave her my information and said it would take a while because they had to take it down from the rafters. I told her it should have been ready for curbside pickup. She said curbside stopped at 6:00 pm. I told her that it wasn't stated anywhere on my order. The service attendant next to her showed me another screen and said "it says it there" and pointed to a screen I had never seen before. I told her that I had never seen that screen before and she replied "it says that just before you click to order your items. I told her again that I never ordered from that screen and she turned away. I waited an extra 15 minutes before my items were brought to me. The 2 ladies were rude and very impolite. Terrible customer service. All I needed was a 2x6x10 deck plank. There are pallets of them up above. I ask a supervisor for help and he tells me the fork lift guy will be right over ... after he moves some sheet rock. That forklift guy had zero interest in leaving the sheet rock aisle. With a lot of trepidation about what would happen, I went ahead and ordered three appliances from Home Depot. Fernando was a wonderful sales person and did everything meticulously correct. There were no problems with my order. I received it as promised. Then I highly anticipated problems with the delivery people. Not the case! John and I believe it may have been George but I'm not positive about his name were very polite and did a great job of getting the appliances in safely with no damage whatsoever. I would like someone in management to read my review. I called the store directly, but was on hold for a long time waiting for a manager, so I hung up. Earlier today, sometime around 11 am (probably earlier), I witnessed an employee in an orange polo shirt smoking something suspicious in a white truck while I was loading some things I had just bought into my car. This kid appeared to be getting high while he was on his phone in the truck and I noticed the smell when he got out of the truck to go back towards the store. I don't understand how Home Depot employs potheads and then lets them smoke in the parking lot. This is so unprofessional. I work for a staffing agency and everyone we hire gets drug tested. Is it Home Depot's practice to hire drug users? Although I did not get to see his name badge, the kid (Hispanic) wore black glasses and had a chili-bowl looking haircut and goat-tee.
