My husband and I went into Home Depot in Shelby Twp. We were looking at toilets, and a bit we went looking for someone to help us. A woman called and sent a man over to help us. He said let me check something walked away and never came back. The customer service in this store is awful and has been for some time. Went to Hall Rd. This store has a credit card from Citibank. I signed up to get the $25 discount not really needing the card. It has been nothing but a nightmare since then. Mostly due to Citibank. They do not have a live body in the US I dont think. I just wanted to set up an account to pay the bill off. I cannot get anybody to help. HD chat does not work ( someone in a small room in Asia). The Citibank line does not work. I requested a paper statement initially last month. That did not work. AVOID THIS CREDIT CARD LIKE THE PLAGUE. Customer service in non existent at this location. I went in to buy a large shelf and storage bins. Knowing they are on high shelves I first ask the customer service desk for help. He informed me that it wasn't his job and someone in the department would help. No they didn't, or at least it wasn't that simple. I had to wait, and wait, and wait. Ask service employees for help and was informed it wasn't their department. finally an older gentleman from plumbing tried to help but he couldn't lift the heavy boxes. Now I am 65 years old myself, so lifting them wasn't easy for me either, especially after helping two other customers load theirs. One loud mouth manager said he'd help, never came back and then when I did find him he said he was busy and sent someone else. I waited over a half hour to just get someone to get a high low. After lowering the shelf I wanted, they couldn't get the bins so more waiting until they went and found a girl to help with them, which she could barely get down the ladder. After over an hour of my time I made the mistake of checking out using cash and setting it on the counter. You would have thought I put a snake on the counter instead of $750.00. Really got the point she didn't like it when she slammed the change back down without handing it to me. What happened to Home Depots policy of never pointing? Awful. This specific location - all I can say is AWFUL. staff runs the other direction upon eye contact. nobody will help. lines down the isle. they cancel curbside pickup orders because they're understaffed - miraculous how several times in one month "there was a problem with your online order, so it's canceled" only to place a new order (after 6pm when they shut down curbside pickup), lo and behold - the order goes through...but you have to wait another day. that's too many times to be coincidence. their lumber is garbage, and don't even think about ordering lumber for curbside pickup - they'll ball up their whole culled lumber pile and try to dump it on you. Just picked up 25 pressure treated 2x4's, and six were total junk, five more were warped unacceptably, and only about 10 are what I would consider good, the last few were barely tolerable. Yes, I know it's not finished lumber - but I've been through many thousands of 2x4's in my life, and these things are junk. Everything having to do with online ordering just seems to baffle these people. It's 2024 guys - the internet isn't going to blow over, it's here to stay. read more

Yeah, it's HD and are not all the same. I've noticed at this location that there are not a ton of people on the floor voluntarily asking you if you need help with anything either. I usually will go to other locations and avoid this one all together. If I'm getting just a couple small items, I like to go to the self scanner, especially when I don't feel like the long chats that the check out people usually engage in. Don't get me wrong, I'm a talker too, but sometimes just want to get in and out. One thing I noticed about the check out is that you have to pick up the scanner in order to complete your transaction. As a germaphobe like me, I felt dirty doing so, even prior to the pandemic and no one was cleaning the scanners as they do at some of the other retailers. If you want to be ignored and have questions on finding things, but no one's around this is the location to go. read more

Some employee's masks are down around their necks, no distancing and there are products just lying around, cluttering the aisles. I have been getting my Behr Chalkpaint at Home Depot for years. We moved so I started going to this location since it is closer to my new home. They have the most RUDE and disrespectful staff in the paint department and none of them have a clue what they're doing. After greeting me with an attitude, I was told they couldn't mix the colors I have been getting there for years. So my wife buys the patio set and had it delivered. Friday this guy in a Ryder truck come and drops it off at my house and puts it in the driveway which was fine but on his way out to leave he runs over my garbage can. Mind you the can was empty and he was even close to clear it so instead of getting out to move it he ran it over. If wasn't for the fact that we were out there he probably would've took off he even hesitated to get out of the truck but when he did he laugh a little and tells me to call customer service. So call customer service and explain I need something to put my garbage into. So the lady calls the carrier company and say I have to wait for them till next week sometime. Can't wait for a new can need it now. So the lady puts me on hold which was a 20 min hold time and explained now I have to hold longer to get a supervisor that can fix the problem. Another 15 min later and another lady says all she can do is make a claim on home depot's insurance. I proceeded to explain I need a can now can't wait for it. Also told her we spend alot of money with home depot and that I even have a home depot credit card. She instead now I have to wait till Monday before I can even get a call back from someone who can handle this problem. Now I've been on the phone for an hour over a $100 garbage can. There customer service is the worst I I've ever seen in my life. They could have easily resolved this by credit my card for the cost of the garbage can. But every person I have encountered in this mess had excuses on how not to take care of a customer. So as promised I told this supervisor that I will go a buy my can from home depot tomorrow using my home depot credit card and I will put this whole thing on blast. SHAME ON YOU HOME DEPOT. Staff will close off isles to put up stock that should be done before or after hours but never at 1230pm Sunday with customers waiting 10 minutes. This location just has a way about it like customers have to shop there so service is secondary. Home Depot doesn't treat veterans well at all compared to Lowes. I have never had a more frustrating experience in my life as I have recently undergone with Home Depot. I ordered an Appliance Package including Refrigerator, Gas Oven, Microwave, and Dishwasher. I ordered and paid for the package on line on June 23rd, with an estimated delivery of July 22nd. As time went on I was contacted via email on a couple of occasions to make sure the appliances ordered were correct and that arrangements were made for delivery access. I rescheduled the delivery to the 29th of July due to a scheduling conflict. Assured that was no problem and received delivery confirmation for that date. Two days prior to delivery I removed and subsequently donated my old appliances. The evening of the "Donation Day" I received an automated voice message saying my delivery was canceled. Thinking this can't be correct we contacted the number provided and were told that the message must have been in error and the delivery is on schedule. The day before the scheduled delivery date I received another call telling me the delivery was cancelled and the items were on back order until October! Ridiculous! I can't believe that for over a month and numerous communications they didn't know availability and waited til the last minute to inform me of the issue. I am now left with no appliances and scrambling to find replacements. There was NO offer to help or otherwise make good on their commitment other than an apology from a third party who identified himself as a Samsung representative. I placed my online order thru home depot and decided ~ selected to have them assemble my grill for me. I went thru all the procedures I was suppose to, gave them my credit card information, had them charge my card ~~ blah blah blah ~~~ waited for them to send me confirmation ~ normally it would take about 15 minutes if not quicker to assemble a weber grill ~ and home depot gives you the option of deciding when to pick up the order ~ however ~ you have to wait for a confirmation that your order is ready for pick up and generally have customers wait a few hours before they can pick up most in stock items. Anyways, like I was saying I opted for them to assemble my grill for me and I was excited when I received an email from them stating that my order was ready to be picked up. I had placed my order around 5 pm and I had selected the earliest pick up time available according to their system of 8 pm ~ I ordered the $149 weber gold series grill ~ along with a cover for the grill, 2 different kinds of charcoal, and some lighter fluid. nothing too extravagant my order came to just under $200.00 Anyways I got an email confirmation around 6:30 pm that my order was available for pick up. I was impressed until I went to the store and received one of the more piss poor horrible customer experiences of my life. Apparently that home depot had decided that I was not important and that it really didn't matter that my grill be assembled, they decided to begin a series of lies and stupidity almost immediately with my first contact with the lady at customer service where I was instructed to go to so as to pick up my order. Almost immediately the first words out of her mouth was a complete and pathetic lie as to lying to me that in the email send to me that my grill would not be assembled ? Having worked as a manager all I could assume is that these people at the home depot were too lazy or uncaring so as to do their jobs and tried to con me into doing their jobs for them as to assembling the grill as requested by their customer !!! me... She was like the email sent said my grill wasn't going to be assembled ? Now having read the email just minutes ago ? I was sure that no such thing was in my email, however having a smart phone that is linked to get emails I managed to pull up the email on my phone to which the customer service lady than proceeded with a different bs ploy, she said that the assemblers were not available and would not be available for like 4 days so I would have to wait ? Now not being born yesterday and having dealt with customer service issues myself as a store manager I knew that this was like rather bad service, come on this is home depot are you telling me that no one could have spent a little time putting together my grill and if that was so ? why the heck would you guys tell me that my order was available and ready to be picked up ? Anyways I asked for their 1 800 number to which the customer service lady told me that she didn't know it ? and therefore couldn't give it to me ? A month ago I went to Home Depot Shelby Township, MI to return an end piece to a cabinet we didn't need, after remodeling my sister kitchen in December. Home depot personnel, two of them, confirmed the piece was purchased online and would not allow me to return this item. I called my sister for receipt/ order information and in the meantime my dad called and could tell I was getting frustrated they would not take this item back. My dad said don't worry about it. After a 45 minute ordeal I took my dads advice and left the store. For those who know me, I help my entire family, my husband is recuperating from a complicated surgery and I just finished another round of treatments. When I'm able to handle things like returning something that rarely ever happens and it doesn't go very well it I just upset because it takes away from my precious time. Home Depot had no problem taking the $1K+ order in the beginning. I left the store and threw the end cap in the back of my car. When I went to buy flowers I decided I would try once again to return it. As I approached the return desk, I felt anxious,explained to the cashier I need to return this end cap, she asked do you want store credit? I said yes. she said sign here and handed me a Home Depot credit card for $16.94. It only took Christina less that 5 minutes to complete the transaction. It doesn't take much to satisfy a customer. I spent the card and 66 cents of my own money. I went to LOWES and purchased my flowers for $255.00 while enjoying my patio it gives me great please to know HOME DEPOT didn't get my money. This Shelby MI Home Depot has let me down on numerous occasions. Out of stock on items I need frequently, help ranges from super one day to useless the next! Could not find my online order, wanted to reorder and have me wait another 8-12 days, found it two days later. Today took the cake, first of all out of stock for the item I needed, good service from the associate who found one at the Rochester store, told me to pay for it here and they would hold it for me there. Went on shopping, got my three sheets of bead board and went to the "Panel Saw" to have them cut in half. Was told by the operator "that they could not cut paneling, on the "Panel Saw" only plywood, the last time someone cut paneling on the "Panel Saw" it broke". I tried to question this logic but was told they didn't want to argue. The manager explained to me over the phone, through the girl at the service desk, that they couldn't cut it because the blade would leave a crooked line. Now I will have to try to cut this thin panel, in a horizontal plane without decent support, with my skill saw. I bet if I had bought these panels at Lowes they would have cut them with their "Panel Saw". read more
