No signage indicating they don't accept returns on pumpkins but charged me $11 for each pumpkin. No sku sticker. Was told they will rot, for $11 a piece they should carve them for you. Go to ALDIs ! The staff is exceptional! I came in with my mother the other night, just to pick up a few things that we needed. As soon as we walked in the door, there was a young lady (I didn't get her name, unfortunately), who offered to bring us a motorized cart to make things a bit easier for my mom. She brought it over to us, and when my mom got on, it didn't work. Dot and Ronika stepped in and were so helpful at that point, bringing us another cart, and going above and beyond to make certain that my mom had everything she needed to get the cart going, and when it looked like none of them would work, Dot even went to get us a walker if we needed it. The cart ended up working -- it turns out she just needed a bit more weight added for it to run properly. They helped us find what we were looking for, made suggestions, and Dot even followed us out to the parking lot to bring the cart back inside, just to make things easier. I should add in that Erin was fantastic, helping us through the check-in as well. Everyone really went above and beyond and were so kind and helpful! We will definitely be back for all of our needs -- and will happily recommend this Home Depot to our family and friends. read more

Ordered over $1,200.00 in supplies 4/28/24 for delivery 5/8/24. Received call at 0630 on 5/8/24 that " the order was removed from the truck" and now delivery will not be until 5/15/24. No one was willing to say why my purchases were removed or where they were. Meanwhile, the hired contractor has nothing to do as the supplies are not here! Home Depot sure took my money readily and the offer to cancel the $80.00 delivery fee not only insulting but not acceptable. Absolutely foul and disgusting especially during covid-19 you're supposed to trust the sanitary purposes of the establishment you are in especially the restroom. I was out in the area running errands and had to stop in to use the facilities and grab a pop because Home Depot restrooms are usually pretty clean. But every single toilet was either full with excrement or graffiti and phone numbers and white substance on top of the toilet paper holders paper towel dispensers were broke and so was the soap dispenser. There's no way all of this happen in one day of operation. Just flat-out neglect. I asked employee for a cart and was told that they are all out in the parking lot. So if I wanted to buy my plywood I would have to hunt through the parking lot to find the cart I needed. Everything. I mean it is a mess. If one goes in and does not know the location of what is needed, the chances are you will tell the same story to at least 6 people and each will say, "Oh I don't work there." It is my experience that one has to go on certain days and certain times to find anyone knowledgeable. There are some very nice cashiers but not many. Most stand around talking trash and act as though you are disturbing them if you want to check out. Well, this latest fiasco has left me speechless. I ordered 5 bags of garden soil and 2 bags of humus and manure. What was delivered was 12 bags of humus and manure. I called and told them it was not what I ordered and someone came and picked it up. Then, what was delivered? 12 bags of humus and manure, no garden soil. This happened five times. The drivers are third party and two were kind enough to show them pictures of the empty bags of what the organic soil looked like. The next day I received 12 bags of humus and manure. I had been calling support three times up to that point. Finally, I did another on line order. This time I needed mulch, still needed only 3 bags of humus and manure and had not received any garden soil. I called support and the same woman at Home Depot said that I would be getting the organic garden soil from the manufacturer. What did I receive? By USPS five 60 pound boxes were blocking my front porch so I could not get up the steps. I had to literally roll one box to create a path. I checked inside and what did I see? Five bags of Peat Moss. Peat Moss?????? I had enough Peat Moss to last two generations already. I have a lot of patience but I had had it. The mulch was rock hard, Finally, through the help of support, the 12 bags of humus and manure were taken away, but not the five boxes of peat moss, or the mulch which was unusable. I had to use my peat moss and one bag of humus and manure to get my plants into the ground. That creates too dense an in ground medium to allow the roots to grow. I am on the phone again with support to pick everything up and take it back. I called English Gardens and that day the correct things were delivered. I am still looking at a wall of mulch I cannot even lift off of the high pile they left which is impossible to break up it is like a brick. Support help again, and a promise from whomever she spoke with at the store to call me and arrange a pick up time in spite of my saying I am home all day attempting to get my newly planted garden prepared for winter. This Home Depot location on Southfield road has been very convenient for us when we need anything for our rental properties nearby. Home Depot generally can eat up a lot of your time, especially if you need to ask for help, which I am learning to do more often. They certainly have a much larger variety of almost everything you could possibly need for home repair and remodeling. Where they really shine is when you have a lengthy list of materials such as hardware, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc. You may find what you need at your neighborhood hardware store but they typically carry less variety than Home Depot. And when I have asked for help I have found that they have consistently knowledgeable people on staff who can help find what you are looking for and also suggest alternatives. read more

Went to Home Depot with my son on a Tuesday afternoon. Their parking lot in the store were pretty empty. Needed to get some keys made. Went to the key area, no one was there so I began to look for a worker. After about 10 minutes of searching couldn't find one so we went to the counter where they paged to have someone come and help us. After waiting 10 minutes we went to the other counter and had them paid someone to come and help us. Long story short no one came to help us, so I'm going to another store. If there's anything you need assistance with, do not go to the store. The workers are hard to find, and they are usually very unhelpful when you find them. Today Joshua was a true example of what customer service looks like. I went to pick up my order for a Gorilla Cart which was in a box and not puttogether. I explained to him I would have to return it because I did not have any one to put it together for me. His response was "if you can wait a few minutes I will do it for you". I offered to pay for the service which he said there was no cost. He put it together and made sure each bolt was tight before I left a happy woman. I'm a professional handyman. I shop the store for convenience only. Of course, there are a few employees that are helpful. A few of the cashiers are quite nice. But the store is poorly managed -- E.g., the contractor-specific aisles -- drywall/Cement/etc., are often closed while they restock...at 7 AM! Prime time for us professionals to shop/buy for our jobs. WTF? It's difficult to find an employee in that store, let alone one who knows what they're doing. Again, not everyone, but enough to make shopping there for any reason but proximity/convenience an experience sure to disappoint. I have been a Home Depot customer for over 20 years but something has slipped recently. The last 3 orders I placed have all been canceled by the store without explanation other than an indication that they would give me a refund in 5 days . . . and that they didn't have to process refunds sooner since that was their "policy". In effect money is tied up for nearly 2 weeks. When the prior order (which for some reason wasn't canceled) arrived the packages had been taped up so much they looked like they had been dragged behind the truck - the items were damaged to the point they weren't even recognizable and certainly not usable yet they expected me to accept them. Even a small delivery took 3 trucks and 2 days - and i would have been charged multiple delivery charges (which aren't insignificant) had I not refused to allow them to unload the last delivery. I can't recommend them any longer - and that is too bad really because it was very good at one time . . . but not at this time. read more

Excellent pick-up experience this morning. Got to the store to pick-up a lawn mower and trimmer, was there and gone in 10 minutes or less. Pulled up to the curb and someone came right out to get my name and order number. Then, we waited in a parking spot for a few minutes while they gathered our items. They placed our purchase in the car after checking our ID, and we were in our way. There were several people helping other customers as well. The pick-up was zero contact and the employees were super friendly. If you have something you absolutely need (like we did with a mower), I recommend doing curb side to keep the Home Depot employees and yourself safe. read more

Never EVER buy anything pre assembled from this location. This is the 3rd BBQ grill I will be returning today. The grill top came completely off while I was grilling. Missing screws they failed to put on when initially assembled. The wheels are falling off. Third time this has happened. Not giving them another chance. We only had the first grill for 3 days before it literally started falling apart. The customer service is awful. The staff are lazy and have major attitude problems. We waited over an hour just for someone to bring us the correct grill to purchase. The staff point you in the wrong direction when looking for items and no one is willing to help. The worst Home Depot I have ever set foot in. And that's saying a lot. I dropped by to buy one thing -- a humidifier filter. Not hard, huh? 4 different employees sent us in 4 different directions. Apparently, no one had any clue where the humidifiers were located in the store. The fifth employee, clearly a part-time philosopher, hypothesized that the reason we couldn't locate the humidifiers and humidifier filters was that they were "probably all sold out." Went to Home Depot (Southfield, MI) Tool Rental on Tue, Sept. 5, and plunked down $250 to reserve an aerator and trailer. When I arrived at 10a Fri, Sept. 8, to pick up the items, I was told they had been rented out to the guy standing in line before me. Didn't receive an apology, just an "Oh, Well." Complained to HD National Customer Care and was told the store manager would call me within an hour to address the problem. The national rep said she would call back later in the day to make sure issue was resolved. No calls back from either. Talked to an assistant store manager Fri afternoon who said the store was planning to issue a $150 store credit. I said $100 would be fine. But he never called me back on Sat. Have called and emailed national Customer Care repeatedly and keep getting the same story, that the complaint ie being investigated and escalated whatever that means. A Home Depot employee at another store told me the HD tool reservation program is deceptive. The employee's advide: don't use the reservation system. Show up early the day you need a tool and take your chances. Today, four days later, I finally got my $250 deposit back from my credit card company. Between the two gentleman who were working on stock, I was correctly directed to my item. On to item #2. I again had to find an orange vest after aimlessly looking at signs. Finally a young lady directed me to the area. I saw the word tape and began to scan the shelves. Surely I am overlooking the product. I finally break down and find another orange vest. The young man in this orange vest named Kevin was wonderful! He offered to escort me to the product. He showed me different product options and gave me the one I needed. This is a clean well stocked store full of helpful and knowledgeable employees. Also, I've never had a problem returning an item... even things like soldering irons and electronic calipers. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the hotdog stand in the southern foyer is to die for. My personal favorite is their Italian sausage with onions, peppers, sauerkraut (yes, sauerkraut on an Italian sausage) and spicy brown mustard. FYI: They grill their sausages and hotdogs on a gas grill--winter, summer, spring and fall--that sits just outside the door. read more

Pure incompetence. I have bought replacement windows and appliances from Home Depot here are the general highlights. - ordered plain door wall - it shows up with slats and must be re-ordered - destroy screen upon installation of correct door wall and must be reordered - gives delivery time windows they miss by hours and then make it your problem to get your ordered appliances - deliver appliances that don't work and then tell you to go through the manufacturer to fix it - call on the day you are supposed to have an appliance delivered you have already bought and paid for to tell you it is discontinued and won't be delivered - but they have a similar one for $500 more - poor installation (according to HD themsleverequires a door wall to be replaced under warranty. And yup, they order a door with slats again and still don't have it replaced after 6 weeks of waiting. I was told by the "field inspector" that I should be assured that it wasn't out of maliciousness that this poor service keeps happening. That means it has to be... pure incompetence. Beverly Hills Ace Hardware is a half mile North at Southfield and 13 mile. Please go there instead - great service, individually owned and they do what they say they will do. I avoided HD and went there for a grill recently and had a wonderful experience. Much better for your sanity. 8/21 - followed up on my door wall repair as I was told it would take 2 weeks to come in. Called the inspector and the 877 number , no records, now escalated - whatever - this place is a joke. read more

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOME DEPOT!!!! Do NOT order anything from here, especially if it needs to be delivered!!!!!!!!!! I have never witnessed such careless, horrible customer service in my life! My parents ordered bamboo flooring for their house in which they checked the order status for frequently which the last update that night said the "order was on the way." My Dad gets up pretty early to go to the gym the next day and when he left (around 4am), he noticed the pallet of bamboo flooring next to his truck in the driveway which means it had to have been delivered between 9pm and 3am...IN THE POURING RAIN! The four boxes of flooring left in my parents driveway were not even shrink wrapped or protected at all and NO packing slip was left. Needless to say he was pissed. He went into the store that morning and there was no manager on duty and no Flooring rep there to help him and the person that was there didn't even show the flooring as being delivered in their system. When my Dad told them about the unwrapped flooring being left in the rain, all he was told was that "sorry the delivery company we use does not deliver inside of homes." --this is NOT what my parents were told when they placed their order. The store told him there was nothing they could do regardless of the weather and what is ordered is standard. What a poor way to treat your customers when you leave delicate product to be ruined by the rain. This is completely unacceptable and negligent! A messy store with messy customer service. To start, I'm not sure if this location just gets poor shipments to their store or if the employees are mishandling items. Two instances were buying 2x4s and insulation. The 2x4s, took forever to pick out. We needed 100+ of them but you couldn't grab the first 100 you see. We touched at least 300 boards while having to get a forklift to bring down a new set because we had exhausted the boards that were in front of us. Many of them were slightly warped of significantly warped. A line formed behind us of people trying to get in there to grab boards, but were thankful that we were going about sorting out the bad ones, so they were patient enough. The second issue was the insulation rolls. Insulation is dangerous to have exposed, we had to get twenty rolls of it and put 10 in each SUV. Each of the rolls were damaged that were on the shelf. Some crushed and/or some were missing their wrapping, so we had to drive with the windows down so particles weren't flying into our lungs in the car. The second issue was customer service. Scanning our massive orders took forever because she scanned each individual board, why I don't know. Also, while looking up our discount type of account, she wanted to give up due to the negligence of their own system. She looked up our school and there were 12 entries for the same school belonging to different people. We still got the discount, but who knows if it was our account or not. Poor experience but at least we still got everything we needed. If Lowe's wasn't so expensive, we would have went there. read more

This is the worse experience I have EVER had!!! We ordered a washer and dryer on Tuesday 12 November 2019 and was told it would be delivered to the store on Thursday 14th or it can be delivered on the 15th Friday. We opted to pick it up on Thursday. We called the store Thursday and were told the truck had not come in yet, days passed and everyday they would tell us it is on the truck but they had to unload the truck. Everyday for over 10 days they claim the appliances are on the truck and we only have 1 employee to unload 2 trucks. 2 weeks later we are still waiting on appliances we paid for. This is the most unorganized unbelievable crap I have EVER heard of. They don't carry any new appliances in the store so we are just sh-t out of luck and our cash. going on 3 weeks we are still waiting! Stay away from this store or suffer the consequences. read more

We had been shopping around for countertops and sinks for a couple weeks. We saw a good deal online for a laminate countertop we liked so we decided to pull the trigger. We went to this store and the employee started to help us with our order. She was very friendly and personable but then her computer stopped working. Someone else started to help us, having to start over on the quote. He gave a total $500 more than the online quote and what the original person said they had it as. He did not know why it was pulling up differently, we asked if he could honor the price since we spent 40 minutes doing the quote and he said for us to just order it online. I went to this store tonight to pick up a few caps to turn my water back on. I asked for, and purchased, a 3/4" cap. The packaging indicated this is what the associate packaged for me; I arrived home to find a 1" cap inside. After calling the store to explain their mistake, the associate informed me they are closed (I was just there 5 minutes ago) and that they were all leaving, and then hung up. When you mess up, fix it! And if that means someone has to stay clocked-in an extra 5 minutes, so be it. There were a million other ways you could have done better in this situation. The selection of items is comparable to any Home Depot (We'll thank management for that), but the staff is awful. They don't know their products; I've been a painter for 10 years, and they grab the wrong base constantly. Along with other bad advice from plumbing, hardware, etc. But that I can deal with. Its the unfriendly cashiers, with "holier than thou" attitudes. Not to be "that guy", but perhaps I'm not the right color... Just saying. I've seen friendly service to certain folks, but I've rarely experienced it myself. It wasn't always this way, just the last couple years. But, I just got my Xmas tree yesterday, and the outdoor department was very helpful and curious. (They must have minded my skin color, lol) It doesn't stop me from shopping there. Usually I have great experiences at this location, however I've come I to this 2 days in a row for the same product that the store has on hand but thill is on the shelf. When speaking the associate in lumber about the primed 1x3 pine wood he told me he couldn't operate the hi-low so I asked him to contact his manager. I was told to hold tight and that someone would be over to get the product I needed down. I wait the associate come back after I've waited nearly 15 mins to tell me that his poor leadership told him had some call off. That had nothing to do with me as the customer considering I've travelled over 20 mins both ways twice for a product that the location has but can seem to get on the shelf for purchase. Completely dissatisfied because I'm in several of your locations multiple time a day sometimes. So I'll be back tomorrow at 6 am and I won't be so nice and btw I'll be contacting corporate! read more
