    Welcome!!

Never ever let's us down. Not to mention they have just about everything you could want but they are cheaper than Lowes, check for yourself.

This is my go-to for all things DIY! There is a salesmen there (I forget his name) he is taller, older guy, he is fantastic! I will walk the whole store passing other salespeople to find him. He is very down to earth and always willing to help anyway possible. I'll update when I see him next. Today I went in for lawn bags and left with more flowers for my landscape. I still need mulch but hoping it goes on sale for Memorial Day. Out of all the Home Depot's I've been I like this one best. I'm comfortable going here, seeking the help from that one salesmen and getting exactly what I need.

I guess it's time to shop at Lowes for the rest of the year. Home Depot is the only place that offers military discounts but puts tons of restrictions on them. Lowes let's me use them for business purchases whereas Home Depot doesn't and as of 2022 they only give us $400 discount per year. My business did $40k last year with Home Depot, $80k with Lowes, another $60 with my plumbing and miscellaneous suppliers. I am at $33,700 with Home Depot alone so far this year and they want to send an "congratulations, you reached the maximum military discount we are going to give you" email today. Veterans are under 5% of the population, that's 1 person in 20 that you know. As not every vet owns a house or does home projects that's maybe 1 in 50 customers Home Depot is giving a 10% discount to. As an even smaller number of vets own businesses that's probably not 1 in a 100. Home Depot offers a military discount just for PR not because they give a crap about vets... thanks for proving that.

You will pay a tiny bit more here than big box stores but that's okay when you know you won't be standing in long lines, deal with crabby staff and can get assistance carrying something to your car if needed. Tony's usually has what I'm looking for but doesn't always have a huge selection of some items. But if you're looking for helpful service, someplace to get a key cut or a gallon of paint without having to travel too far, Tony's is your place.

I piled my purchases in the shopping cart and waited under the tree where I told my husband I would wait. My plan was to load my stuff in the car and return the cart. An employee came out to tell me this was personal property and it had to be returned, not "can I help you?" I am an older woman and just purchased over $100 at the store, seriously, I need this cart? I returned the cart and struggled to carry the items to my shady spot. Meanwhile, a woman in another car told me to stop stealing! My daughter lives in this neighborhood so I am there a lot. I was so disappointed in their response.

I feel so blessed that I found this place by mistake places like this need and survive on patronage. It feels like you're in a hardware store up north still with a gun counter definitely had to stop and get my hunting license for the year and even went out of my way to grab some other small items that I needed to work on some projects The place is huge there's even a Model T over in the garage that was bought by the owner's family a one owner model t stop and think about that for a moment!! It was a Bittersweet experience as the employee was stating the current owner is the last of his family. Hopefully they find a way to keep it going it would be a shame to lose what should-be be a cherished establishment since 1898 If you appreciate all the small things that made this country great and still survive in small pockets Take the 25 minutes out of your day or 30 minutes find a restaurant close by you've been wanting to go too if you need a different reason. and make the drive you won't regret it and I guarantee they will appreciate it Shame on anyone who drives past this place to go to Home Depot unless you're ordering trusses or huge building materials

A couple of times I had to make multiple trips in one day. The staff was always professional and helpful, and almost always had what I needed, which is saying a lot since I managed an old 50-unit building that needed a lot of things for a lot of problems. Sometimes I would grab the wrong thing, and it was never a problem bringing it back and exchanging it for the right thing. Sometimes my boss would get a bit behind in paying for it all, and they would gently remind me, and the ol' slumlord would send them a check from Florida. They were cool but firm about it. It seemed to be a situation they'd been through many times before. They have homey touches here - a small tv on the counter that's always showing something. A fridge with Faygo in the can. My favorite thing about 3rd Ave Hardware is the bicycle selection. In the warmer months there's a whole row chained together on the sidewalk out front. Old ten speeds, 70s 3 speeds, cruisers, mountain bikes, etc. But, wait, there's more inside! Another row between the front door and the register and still more up and down the cramped aisles! (3rd Ave Hardware could really use a more spacious locale.) The prices won't break the bank either. I just bought my second bike from there - a green mountain bike from CCM, that Canadian company that makes hockey equipment. It's a pretty sweet bike for $100. My last one was, too. It was an old 70s 3 speed with a big comfy seat and a glistening orange paint job that just looked like candy. Too bad it got ripped off. Oh well, that's life in the D. I won't pack it in, and I'm glad 3rd Ave won't either. I'm only knocking them down one star because of their paint selection. It's lousy and overpriced. Go somewhere else for paint.
