If I could give zero stars, believe me I would! Last Monday, my husband and I came to this store because the Puyallup store was sold out of the patio set we wanted. The Spanaway store had 9 in stock(we checked ourselves) but we had no way of taking it home that day so we purchased it and set up the first available day of delivery which would have been today (May 31). We were told we would get a call the day before (yesterday) as to when to expect the delivery on Monday. Fast forward to yesterday, I get a call at 1:25pm from the Home Depot Spanaway store saying that they went to pull our order but they found none left in stock. SO THEY TOOK OUR MONEY A WEEK PRIOR AND SOLD IT OUT FROM UNDER US AND DECIDED TO PULL THE ORDER THE DAY BEFORE?!?! Complete lack of priority for the customers who already purchased something in stock! I asked to speak to a manager and I got a lady named Rachelle; she informed me that they were out of stock and she would check other stores within a 100 mile radius on their inventory. I was on hold while she checked and she said there were none anywhere within 100 miles. My husband and I were fuming to say the least!! She said if we wanted to pick a different set out that they had in stock or if we found a set at a different store, then we could buy it and bring a receipt back to the Spanaway store and they could discount us some money. We asked for a full refund and let her know how disappointed we were and how much we needed that furniture for an event coming up at our home. We immediately started looking online at other Home Depot stores that might have the set we wanted in stock and began calling around. We had no luck until I got ahold of a woman at the Home Depot in Wenatchee, WA. Her name is Glenda and she told me they had one in stock and it happened to be the floor model. I told her that we would pay for it over the phone and drive out right away to come get it if she could hold it for us. She said that if we purchased it over the phone, then she could put our name on it and it's ours. WHY COULDN'T THE SPANAWAY STORE HAVE DONE THE SAME THING WHEN THEY ACCEPTED OUR MONEY JUST ONE WERK PRIOR?! My husband and I had to race to my in laws house at 4pm yesterday to borrow my father in laws truck since we don't have a big enough vehicle to carry the furniture and then race to Wenatchee before they closed at 8pm. We arrived at around 7pm in Wenatchee, went straight to the customer service desk and explained who we were. The gentleman who we spoke to knew exactly who we were and was very quick to get us help loading the furniture up and get us back on the road to get home before it got too dark. The table in the store had stickers with my name on it and other stickers that said "SOLD" so anyone passing by it could see it was purchased and spoken for. GLENDA AND THE STAFF AT HOME DEPOT WENATCHEE ARE HEROES! Now today(Memorial Day), my husband and I woke up early after a long day of driving yesterday to get to the Spanaway store right away to get things sorted out. Rachelle was not in but we spoke to Vanessa and explained the situation, presented her with the receipt from purchasing the set in Wenatchee and a $40 gas receipt we wanted to be reimbursed for from yesterday's drive. She said she could not reimburse us for the gas because according to her "we can't tell you where to drive to get the furniture" even though she admitted there were none in stock within a 100 mile radius so therefore we had to go to the next closest store with happens to be 167 miles away. HOW IS THAT MY PROBLEM WHEN YOU SOLD OUR SET OUT FROM UNDER US IN THE FIRST PLACE?! Then she said she could only offer us a $75 discount. EXCUSE ME?! My husband was pissed! We were very frustrated and exhausted and disappointed. We were hoping for a 20% off discount and our gas to be paid for. I think it's reasonable for the trouble we went through but noooooooo. She then said she could do $100 so we just settled and walked out. YOU ARE NOT ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS SPANAWAY HOME DEPOT! You lost a customer and until you fix your delivery system so it's fair for your customers who pay ahead of time, we aren't supporting you with any business! read more

It's a shocker that this tool rental business is successful, based on my recent experience. My main concerns were: I asked to rent a mini tiller - (I was using it in the vegetable garden from last year so mostly softer soil and some rocks), there were 3 that were physically on the floor up front. 2 of the 3 were broken. I did the paperwork and as I was walking out I asked about the damage protection (I remember having this in the past). The employee said "you have it included with the rental" which was interesting because it said on my receipt upon returning it that it was optional and I accepted it. For me, no mention of it upfront counts as unethical and dishonest. Secondly, when I arrived home and used it for about 30 minutes I realized the "kill switch" was disconnected. It was clearly something that had happened in the past because it was sloppily held together (previously) with an exposed butt-connector. Thirdly, upon my return a couple hours later the same person helped me return the tiller. He didn't ask how it worked or thank me for a prompt return instead he says "you shouldn't have any dirt on the tines. It needs to come back to us exactly how it went out." I was a bit surprised because it wasn't wrapped in roots or clogged with rocks...just a bit of garden soil (not mud). I apologized and said I didn't know to which he responded "This is a $50 cleaning charge...but I can probably not charge you this time because my boss isn't here right now." Lastly, I pointed out that the kill switch wire (which had visibly been repaired in the past), was not connected. His reply "I hope you had the warranty." After 10 minutes or so, I was done and on my way. A lack of professionalism, dishonest sales tactics and overall poor customer service is what I got and based on my experience at this Home Depot in general, it is the norm. read more

We've come to this Home Depot several times and he is the only person to ask us if we needed help with anything. He is very knowledgeable in the products and gave us very useful information when deciding on what washer and dryer to purchase. We ended up getting a Samsung bundle with extended warranties that he recommended. He even helped us with choosing a stove and fridge. He didn't push us to buy the most expensive ones and gave us the pros and cons of each. Because of him, we will be back to buy the fridge and stove. Supplies galore! As a new home owner I need a one stop shop! The Home Depot is the place for me! 2 Miles from my home, I can find everything I need and more to update and make my home "mine". The only issue...too many options! The two young ladies I asked about duct tape...they laughed and said it's in the same isle with all the duct work....ad if I knew that...they seemed annoyed when I asked for the Isle number...this because they themselves had no clue. The Key guy...he on the other hand was EXTREMELY helpful and encouraged questions. He congratulated me on my new home and gave me advice about the new keys I had made. He was so helpful and I was impressed with his patience! Checked out the paint counter and came away with 4 gallons for walls, 1 for trim, and 1 for doors! Check out was a breeze. The young man helping out with the "self check out" was quick and efficient, willing to help, and even adjusted the price after it didn't ring up correct....great job! I'm extremely disappointed in your delivery staff in Tacoma/lakewood WA. I was told an estimated time between 7 AM and 11 AM that they would BE at my house. Tell me why I get a call from them at 620 AM that I need to meet them at the gate and Guide them to my house.. I have a new born and a 6 year old I have to get ready for school. My husband is at PT so I call him and tried to ask if he could but he didn't answer because he's working. He gets off pt at 7 so I explain to them either he can meet them there or I can get the kids ready but by the time I head that way it might be 7. I keep in touch letting him know what's going on. He's replying for a while then stops my husband gets to the gate and they are no where to be found. I call Home Depot and they already left said I made them wait 40 minutes when they weren't even suppose to be here till 7!!! At earliest. AND they were suppose to call me before they left to let me know they were on the way. I was told the delivery driver would call me back and make an appointment never did I finally had to call and make one for NEXT WEDNESDAY. I explained I shouldn't have to wait that long when it was their mistake and I did the best I could with that I got!! And he tells this other lady I'm talking to a different story then he told the lady this morning when all this was going on. "The gate couldn't read his ID" they don't read them they scan them and call the house if they have any questions about it and then send them on their way. They shouldn't send someone who can't get in post that doesn't make since. He told the lady this morning that he got there at 7 and I made him wait 40 minutes when it was only 730 that I called them so it hadn't even been passed 40 min after 7 so that's obviously false she explains that she believes me and that she's sorry and they should be calling me to reschedule. Tell me why they can't just bring it back if it's already on the truck!! Worst experience ever and I've had a lot of experience with other companies but this is by far the worst. Home Depot deserves negative stars for poor customer service. We purchased a new construction home and rented our old one. For the old house we purchased an electric range and microwave range hood from Home Depot on Military Road. We decided to also replace the carpets and window treatments through the same store. They had a good 72 hour turn around installation sale. The range and microwave were delivered and installed. They didn't level the range, but it's easy to do. 2 weeks later, after the Home Depot vendor had measured the carpets, the vendor sent 1 man to install the carpets. We were suspicious and asked the installer if he was it? Where was his help? He replied he always worked alone and that it would be about 8 hours to do the job. 8 hours?! We asked if we needed to be there the whole time. The installer said no. He said it's better if no one was there so that he could work quickly and not be distracted. We went over our contact information and told him to call us when he was done. We left for 2.5 hours. We drive by after 2.5 hours and the installer wasn't there. The house was empty and unlocked! Not good! Within 5 min of our arrival, the installer shows up. We go in the house. He'd removed all the old carpet and put down the living room carpet. It wasn't tucked in but looked ok. He mentioned he'd done us a favor and just did 1 seam instead of the 3 seams the estimators had notated. Fine. We asked if he'd be able to finish in time and he said yes. He'd be done by 6 pm. (He'd arrived at 10am). We left and ran Saturday errands. I let my renter know to meet me at the house to get the keys at 6:30pm. When we got back at 6:30pm, he wasn't done. He said it'd be a couple more hours. Note: This is a 1215 square foot home that has laminate kitchen floors and entryway. I said okay... what else could I say? I gave keys to the renter and took their payment. About to leave, the installer runs out of the house wanting to show me something. He wanted to know if I wanted the carpet on the stairs nailed on. I said yes. He replied that it would take more time. I said okay. I asked if the old carpet was nailed on. He said yes. I told him I wanted it installed the same way as the old carpet. In my mind I pictured the stairway carpet popping up and my renter falling down the stairs and then suing me. So yes, nail in the stairway carpet! I left. Went home. Between the move, my job, the stress of closing the home, making the old home ready for the renter... I'm exhausted. The next day I contact the renter asking how the carpets look. She said downstairs was fine but the door frames upstairs were messed up. She also said he didn't finish until after 10pm. I asked for pics and she sent two. This was on Sunday. She sent the pics Sunday night. Just 2 pics. But they were alarming. We sent Home Depot a feedback email asking what had happened. We told them about the 1 installer, him leaving the site, and the damaged doorways. We waited for a response. None came. Later that week we went to the store. We spoke to Richard a manager at the store. Richard said the damage he saw in the two pics was normal. He'd seen worse. He said it was caused by our painter. No. It wasn't. We inspected the painters work. The door trims looked excellent. No damage. Richard then said the damage was preexisting because the house previous owners had a dog. Nope. I wouldn't have purchased the home if the baseboards had this much damage. Then he said it was water damage. I couldn't argue anymore. He said he'd arrange for an investigation team to come out and review the work. I said okay. I waited to be contacted. Someone called the following week to say that someone would contact us the next week to arrange a viewing. Still waiting. It's now 3 weeks since installation. Thank you for reading this long post. I hope it makes sense. I'm so angry about this. read more

The reason for the low star rating is because we are building are deck and we have been here for the material and we have had to return peices due to poor quality more then once. Making it a hassle to finish the job at hand. I think there should be somebody checking each peice as its purchased before it leaves to insure the customers satisfactions guaranteed . So our dryer died today and we need one immediately. We went to Home Depot and finally picked a set to purchase and reviewed with the sales guy that the price posted was correct. He pulled up the set online and the price was higher. I asked again about the price difference and he assured me that we would get that price. We did the order and everything was rung up and put on our charge card. That is when we got to see the invoice and we were charged $282 more than the posted price. So the salesman took up to the customer desk and called the operations manager who said that they won't honor the posted price because they should have taken down the signs four days ago. 12/28 As of yesterday the washer and dryer that they couldn't and wouldn't honor the posted price is now $30 less each than what the posted price was before Christmas. Still makes no sense why they wouldn't honor the posted price when they are now selling for even a lower price!!!! read more

Special ordered a set of finished barn doors with hardware last November. Due date 12/8. I called then and customer service was upset I wanted her to call Jeld Wen for an update. She never called back. Went in to see a manager who said she'd follow up and call me back. She forgot about it and never did. Went on again and was told it's done but they can't find a truck to bring it up from Portland. We were originally told it was to be made in Puyallup. Weeks went by with no update. Early January they said they were having issues with parts to make it and it's not in Portland but southern Oregon. The BS continues to February. I get a text that they are in. When we get there they say they can't find them. They call the next day that they are in but broken. They call again later that the order was doubled and a set isn't broken. When we get there the doors are unfinished and look like shit and NO hardware! They said they'd have it rushed up. Another two weeks and they don't know where the hardware is or when it will get here. NEVER SPECIAL OREDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. Incompetent and pure shit customer service. Mid February and still waiting and still have to take the doors somewhere to have them finished. read more

We came in from SE Wa. for some repair work on our rental home in Yelm. From the first friendly greeting when we walked in the door to the $60!! one of the associates saved us on air conditioning ducts, we left as EXTREMELY happy DIY'ers. We loved they had a parking spot for Veterans and hire many as employees, which probably accounts for the great customer service. Not less than 4 associates asked us if we found everything we needed or offered to help out.Travis and Mike were really helpful (the $60!! savers) and MacGyvered out a problem with our portable air conditioner. We were staying in Lacey and needed a forgotten item on our way back to Yelm and went to the Lowe's there. WOW. Talk about night and day. We probably wouldn't have thought much about it (most big DIY stores have lame customer service) but the lack of help was glaring after our treatment from Home Depot. Home Depot is 5 miles farther than Lowe's, but I'll drive the extra miles for awesome customer service. I just left this store buying 2 husky garage shelving units. I had cash on me and but over half the cash in the machine but would not take the last 100.00 bill I very kindly asked the women that was working that front end to help me. She told me the reason it isn't taking it is because it is fake umm no it was clearly real and just wanted to finish paying for my items she told me know one can help me and she doesn't know what to tell me did even offer to get my money out of the machine. She asked do you want a manger and said well yes please mean while the gentleman behind be was having the same issue so now it was clear it was the registers. I really hate sneaky business practices and the Home Depot so called lifetime warranty on tools is just that, a scam. 3 times now I have tried to fill out their long and tricky warranty papers. Forms designed to be long and confusing so that you will want to quit and not bother. However I am stubborn and want my warranty promised with the so called "Home Depot Promise" I wont even go into detail about past purchases. Just my most recent, the last straw so to say. I just purchased a simple drill and the hoops to jump through to get the lifetime warranty that is clearly displayed on the box, is ridiculous. I think I filled out less paperwork when I purchased my new car. Not only do they just want all the receipt information and the numbers on the box, and the numbers on the drill. But also want the numbers on every part that comes with the drill. So if you buy a drill that comes with extras, you better be prepared to write down every number of each extra part. The batteries, the charger and anything else that comes with it. Then after an hour of finding and writing everything down you better double check and have friends double check you didn't miss one number or letter. Anyways I took the time out of my day to fill out the warranty papers, had my wife and daughter double check everything and then sent it off. About a week later Home Depot sends me back an email saying that they are still reviewing my application for warranty. (As if it is some sort of thing I have to earn) Two weeks go by and another email saying that my application is being reviewed by another department or something of that sorts. Finally today they send me an email saying. "Unfortunately your lifetime warranty application was not excepted. You can try one more time by sending all the info via regular mail/post and we will re-review your application and get back to you in 8 weeks. OMG 8 weeks. Pretty sneaky as by the time I do get approved or disproved the store return policy will have elapsed and I will be unable to return the drill. So instead of waiting to be scammed again by Home Depots BS lifetime warranty. I'm going to just return the stupid drill and start shopping elsewhere. I remodel homes so I spend a lot of money at Home Depot. Not a huge hit to the home improvement giant, but hopefully this review will help people think twice before choosing Home Depot based on their warranty. This is just a guess as I have not looked into it, however I would be willing to bet that least half the tools they sell to customers never get the warranty papers filled out. Actually I would bet that 80-90% do not get filled out and or are rejected. If you choose to purchase a tool from Home Depot because of their so called amazing warranty DO NOT DO IT! Horrible customer service. Long line caused me to postpone trip till 1 hour before close - but once there nobody wore masks but a few customers. I found some items and asked an employee to call someone to assist in a dept where I couldn't find any Home Depot employees and spent 15 min's getting what I knew I needed - then went to an older man moving scaffolding to again request assistance. He ignored me until I was almost yelling my third "excuse me" when he mumbled some rude response as he continued to walk the other way. I realized my last few experiences there were also not pleasant. Will travel further to shop elsewhere - finally - sad (for them) as I've purchased several major appliances and many building materials through the years and believe in supporting local businesses. read more

One star because it won't let you give 0 stars. To be fair this is solely based on a single experience. They should not offer curbside service if they can't deliver on it. For three pieces of pvc fittings, 4 days is a bit much. The order said it would be ready same day. No communication, no anything. Attempts to call the store resulted in endless ringing with no answer. Calling customer service gets you put on hold indefinitely. Texting them took 2 days to even get back to me - at 1:30 in the morning. Replying to the message got me more automated messages. Several customer service reps and nothing. One said it was taken care of and was being filled. I never got notification that it was actually ready. Today the third or fourth customer service rep said they were checking into why it had not been filled. That was 8 hours ago. I cancelled the order - hey that process goes quickly and painlessly so I guess they earn the one star for that. I bought the order at Lowe's and they delivered on their promise to have it ready when they said they would. read more

I ordered a washer, dryer and 14 cu. ft upright freezer from Home Depot in Spanaway, Wa on 18 Oct. 2021, with a scheduled delivery date of 2 Nov 2021' About two weeks after placing this order, I recieve a email telling me that the washer & dryer will be delivered on 2 Nov 2021 as listed on our contract, but the 14 cu. ft. upright freezer will not be delivered until 16 Nov 2021. Now we are waiting patiently for the freezer to arrive on 16 nov 2021, when on 12 nov 2021 I receive a email from Home Depot telling me that our 14 cu. ft. upright freezer will not be delivered until 12 Jan 2022. I ask my wife to call the store to find out the reason for this delay. After her call to the store, she tells me that the Home Depot appliance employee had told her that the freezer was in the distribution warehouse, but there were not enough delivery drivers or warehouse personnel to get these products out in a timely manner, so I decided to call the store. I asked the employee if what I had been told was true and she replied yes. I asked her if it was in a local warehouse , why not let me come to the warehouse to pick up this item. She asked me if I wanted to speak to another customer service rep and I said yes. My phone line then went dead. I have a very large dislike for Walmart as they seem to have a very hard time keeping the shelves stocked with product, which I have been noticing lately at Home Depot. Not my idea of a good role model to emulate. I went onto the corporate web site for Home Depot, in Atlanta, Ga. and saw the long list of all the kings people with various titles listed, but no where on this list was there any mention of a person being in charge of Consumer Affairs or Customer Service. I bought some other appliances at Lowes and they were delivered on time as listed in the contract. My past business dealings with Home Depot have been nothing to write home about in a positive nature. Be sure to check your shipping options with your online order. I had 4 sheets of 4x8 pegboard and 1 8 foot ladder delivered to my home from the store (2 blocks away) and they charged me $79 - which was NOT on the online order until after I got my confirmation. The driver of the truck even told me I got screwed! It was showing free shipping before that! The customer service through Home Depot (800) number was very rude and said they would do nothing about it! read more

When a corporate store the size of Home Depot has employees like this its really sad. It just goes to show how cheap they are. The head honchos at Home Depot corporate must hire people with out high school degrees. Even then the kids still in High School working at Mcdonalds have a better sense of Customer service. Every time i have been here it is the worst experience I have ever experienced in any type of store. First off purchased over 5k worth of cabinets. Soon as they had my money no one wanted to help me. All i needed to know is if the cabinets on the cart set aside were mine. Instead of someone saying can I help u sir or u looking for something they let me stand there for 40minutes looking at them. I understand they were with someone but a simple question would have made it work. Didnt need help just yes those are urs. Then when i went to take the order not one employee help me get three carts of cabinets to the loading door. So I had to pull all three buy myself. Now this was only half my order. The other half i had to come back and get once it arrived. When i get the call that they are in I was told they were in teh will call cage. Only no cabinets in will call. So they go in the back and bring out the same cabinets i had already picked up. As i look at them and say i already have those I need the cabinets that hang. They looked up my paper work to not be able to find it because the stupid lady never marked down that i had picked up my first order. If i would not have been honest i could of had a double order for free. Well as they went into the back the two people who were helping me must have had bad necks cause they didnt look and said we cant find it or figure it out so ur going to have to go talk to a manager. Then the next day I came back and the other order was sitting next to the one they had ordered twice, why they didnt notice im guessing cause they are lazy POS's. Manager walks out with them and says sorry they must have not seen them. What she meant is they didnt try to even look. I could go on even more but im tired of writting and will just end it with GO TO LOWES OR McLENDONS cause home depot hires people they can take advantage of and not pay more then $8 a hr. and have no drive to become anything more then a person who does just enough and barely what they are suppose to do. I will say that the manager did try and make it rite by delivering the cabinets to my house her self in her own car cause she felt so bad her employees were lazy bumbs. Do not come here unless u absolutly have to cause u will probably regret it read more
