The location is great, lots of space. It is neat and clean. Plus the people who work here are informative, approachable and friendly. As well as, the added bonus of way more inventory. We love finding exactly what we need. Similar experience as other Home Depots. Today there were plenty of staff around who seemed to have some knowledge of their areas. It's never been super crowded here and it's right next to the Target parking lot, though there's no mall entrance. read more

Their sign says nobody beats their low prices, guaranteed and they will price match any retailer. BUT they evidently DO NOT price match Amazon.com, EVEN THOUGH the item is sold and shipped by amazon.com. That sign is very misleading. However if you google does THD pm amazon, the AI says yes! Also evidently you can pm to amazon.com if you call customer service. SO much ambiguity and vagueness. The store employee says they only price match stores with brick and mortar fronts. That is not how I interpret that sign. I love HD and will still continue to shop but some of the employees can work on better customer skills. Maybe higher ups can take a lesson or two from Lowes, BB Target etc. I do not trust their price guarantee. read more

Unbelievably bad service. Rude customer service representative who actually hung up on me after I voiced my issue. I had a delivery scheduled and they never showed up and never called to let me know know they weren't coming. I paid extra for a 4-hour window for delivery. I canceled the order and bought from a real conscientious vendor instead. They delivered promptly within the timeframe agreed upon. They won't get any more of my business and I recommend you bring yours elsewhere as well. read more

So I'm a regular at the depot here and when I say regular I'm shopping in this store 2-4x a week. So I get what I needed and see the buy more save more Milwaukee deal. Spend 350 save 50 spend 450 save 100 spend 550 save 175. So I do some Looking around and pick out my three items that equal to 565.67 and was told the computer says you only get 100 off so we call over someone else to make sure my purchase is strictly part of the sale that was going on and they did nothing to Help me. Very disappointed as I spend a ton of Money every year! Not to mention they couldn't give me a reason why I Couldnt get the promotion. Not sure when I'll be returning back to this store! Had to buy a new over the range microwave oven when my old GE profile one died. Decided on a Whirlpool microwave/convection oven in stainless steel. Opted for the installation and haul away service since I'm almost always working in the city. Delivery/installation day arrives and my wife is at home. I had contacted them a few weeks ago to let them know they have to lag into brick, which I had done 15 years earlier when I installed my GE. It's not a big issue now that they sell the drill bits and the special bolts. They come, install have my wife sign a paper and leave. I called my wife from work and asked how the installation was going she only complained that they made a "big mess" so I assumed everything was fine. I didn't think about it. When I got home the microwave looked about 1/2 inch to one side but it wasn't a huge issue. A couple of days later it's a Saturday and I go to use the microwave. As I open it up I notice it's a good 1 1/2 inches off the wall. My old one was flush. I know I live in an old house but there is no way it shifted 1 1/2 inches in 15 years. I then start looking at it and noticed the side that is facing the cabinets is smashed in. I'd like to say dented but it is hugely smashed in. Frankly I'm surprised it's even working. I immediately show my wife who admitted she never watched them unpack or install the microwave. I asked if she signed any papers stating everything was fine and she did. Don't want to get into the argument that ensued but it wasn't pretty. Long story short, whoever they sent to install the microwave either knowingly installed a damaged oven or damaged it themselves during installation. They never once told or showed my wife. Complete lack of integrity. They couldn't install it properly either. I will never shop there again, not even to buy a light bulb. The 1 Star is there because the oven is actually working. read more

Very convenient parking lot with easy access. My usual lot complaint, mark the darn exit lane. Store is clean and inviting but typical short staffed. Probably a corporate reason. Staff when they can are knowledgeable and more than helpful . Bought a fridge Friday and a grill Sunday. Both people who helped went above and beyond to help. Kudos to this staff. read more

My wife and I decided to put new countertops in our kitchen recently. We originally put the order in about a month ago and was told someone (a contractor they use) to set up a time to measure. After a few weeks we hadn't heard back so we called Home Depot. They said the contractor was ready to measure but no one reached out to us. Once they measured they said it would be a couple more weeks to cut and install. We set up a date and were told to remove the current counters prior to installation. They would contact us with an exact time to expect them. We were never given a time so last night we removed our counters and sink. We called today to find out what time they were coming and found out the manager had an email from a few days ago from the contractor saying they wouldn't be able to install until next week. So we have to put our all counters and sink back in and remove them again next week. read more

Friday 4:30 PM I go to get a piece of carpet trim. I looked for it myself first, since I knew exactly what I needed. But when I couldn't find it I looked for some help. No one in the flooring department or anywhere nearby, so I go to Customer Service and am told there is someone is in flooring, but just in case she uses the Home Depot Magic Finger to point where the product is. It's 100 yards away- how is that helping? I find two other employees on the floor and and get the Home Depot Magic Finger from each. Neither would take me there and when each gave directions, I told them I was already there and couldn't find a metal piece, only wood, they both insisted it was there. I then went to the nearest Lowe's (Orangeburg) and purchased. read more

DO NOT USE THEM FOR FLOORING. Work directly with their installation company Over the Edge. Home Depot is a total disaster, we paid more than $21,000 for hardwood floor installation and materials, and they dropped off the hardwood floor and told us they wouldn't take it inside!! I now have 1,000 lbs of hardwood floor sitting in my garage and I have to figure out how to get it inside because they also didn't tell me until today that it has to be inside for three days before installation!!! After having multiple representatives hang up on me I finally got the manager of the store who offered to refund a somewhat embarrassing $200 for this. When you pay for a project you should never have to do it yourself. The other really frustrating aspect of this was we were never told by Home Depot the floors have to be in the house to adjust to the house temp for multiple days before they can be installed! So now I have a literal ton of hardwood getting cold in my garage and I was given 0 warning of how to plan for this. Kudos to Home Depot for having a decent installation company, but if you can't get the materials in the house why should I have even bothered? The only help I've gotten has been from Over the Edge, and they are handicapped by home depots incompetence. read more

Home Depot has completely dropped the ball. I bought a dishwasher from them, the first time buying an appliance from them. I've always had great experience with the appliances and service contracts at Sears. Not so with Home Depot. I've been on the phone now for 3 hours trying to get them to honor their "repair or replace" warranty that they were so proud to sell me, as I've had to do many times over the past months. I've had 4 technicians out, none of them can figure out why there is mold in my dishwasher (and we have mold allergies here!) and they've now decided that it's due to misuse. This is not my first dishwasher - and I've never had this problem before. I've used every product that the technicians have said to use and three times now I've had this mold issue. One of the technicians even admitted that they've been having this issue with this style of dishwasher. This problem has gone on now for months. It's impossible to find a number to call for complaints, and when, after hours on the phone, you finally get through to a person, they promise to get back to you and they do not. I'm on my third operator in the Home Depot complaints "escalation" department. They all say they'll call me back. Not only do they not, they then don't return my calls. Run screaming from Home Depot. Go to Lowe's! Home Depot is not the only game in town, though they certainly act as though they are. And please...do not buy a service contract from them. The company, Asurion, is in the business of denying claims. They give you the full runaround, and if you question them, they keep repeating the same thing. I blame Home Depot for working with this company. I paid 1/3 of the cost of the dishwasher for a "repair or replace" and they are finding every way possible to avoid paying. I did buy about nine 2x4. Staff was mad helpful with getting those beams of wood down and onto that flatbed. Only about 5 splinter. Did also make sure to copy about 50 keys. The man working didn't mind. We talked about the Simpsons for a minute. Asked if about 5 employees could assist me and all that lumber to my Saab. The West NYACK Home Depot is absolutely the best all around home improvement store. Their Customer Service is also excellent. I recently had my hands full with a cart load of things I was buying and I also had to pick up an on-line order. In my rush, I left my house keys and wallet on the counter. This nice older gentleman at the Service Desk helped me check out and also load my car. To my surprise I saw him running out to flag me down as I was starting to drive away. He had my keys and wallet...thank goodness. I tried to offer him a well deserved tip and he smiled and said "I'm happy just to help". With everything sad going on, his spirit truly lifted me. Home Depot beats Lowe's by a long shot!

I bought a steam mop here as a Christmas present. Guess what, it came used and its missing half the parts. And then when I bring it in, the store manager is suspicious that I have tampered with it. Unbelievable. They don't even inspect items that they get as a return. They finally accepted my return reluctantly. Another instance is when I bought a garbage can online and the lid broke in a month. I went it with the lid for a replacement. A lady sales associate started saying all this mumbo jumbo to me that they can't do it. The nerve of the sales associate to explain to me that they "don't have a lid replacement program" like I'm some kind of idiot. She continues to talk condescendingly to refuse the replacement. Well shes done a great job in refusing the replacement, but guess what from now on I won't even do business with them anymore because they don't stand by their products and they don't treat customers with any respect. read more

I shop at this Home Depot a few times a week. Last Tuesday I was there just before closing and in a rush. I bought what I needed, but along the way I left my notebook with a shopping list and many other important details in one of the aisles. I didn't realize it until the next day so I rushed back to see if I could track it down. It wasn't anywhere to be found, but I one of the nearby employees if she had happened to see it. To my surprise she said she had and that she had thrown it out because it is her job to keep the place clean. She then proceeded to take the time to retrace her steps and try to track it down. In the end she couldn't find the notebook, but the point is that she actually cared about finding it for me and felt bad that I would be without it. I understand, of course, that this was my mistake and I appreciated the fact that she actually CARED about finding it. This is a rare sort of experience in todays chain store world. The employee's name was Heather. Thanks again! Aslo, there is a really helpful tall older gentleman with a beard who operates the cut off saw in the back (among other things I'm sure) He is always goes above and beyond with cutting down whatever I need, but also with material suggestions and other tips. He seems like an old school carpenter who really cares about his craft. I wish I knew his name, but you'll know when you encounter him. We walked in at 6:06pm on 6/15 to the west Nyack,ny location looking to get a copy of a key made. Nobody there. Customer service desk assured us someone would come. 15 minutes later, And several unanswered calls to the store manager later, still no response. Associates couldn't (or wouldn't) even give us the name of the manager. A half hour later, infuriated, we left. Never again. Will be calling the corporate office to complain tomorrow.
