Great local hardware store. Park on Main Street In Ramsey or in the back lot. They have one of pretty much everything you could ever want for your home. They carry Benjamin Moore paint and minwax stain they have a whole bunch of stuff behind the counter too so just ask. They have plenty of staff there too so someone is always there to help you find something in the floor to ceiling aisle stocked with anything you'll ever need! read more

It's such a delight to have a friendly and helpful old-time downtown hardware store here in Ramsey. If you haven't yet visited, may I strongly encourage you to do so. Mark, Pete and the crew are so approachable, down to earth and knowledgeable. There are no "dumb questions", it's a "safe space" in that they are patient and have a kind twinkle in their eyes to help advise or find that tool or product that you forgot the name of, and can only describe. Recently, I've brought some old table lamps in for rewiring to modern safety standards (!), and the work was wonderful. Did I mention they also fix stuff ? After your first visit, you'll be family, and finding reasons to stop by. I love picking up that item on my shopping list, and then wandering the aisles for my entertainment, always finding additional things that "I didn't realize I needed" ! read more

I agree with other's comments that these guys know their stuff. If you need help with a project or just don't know what you need, they are indeed very helpful. That being said, remember the 80's commercials for Crazy Eddie's? Well, these guys' prices are INSANE. I will gladly pay a bit more for a local mom and pop with friendly and helpful service, but it's really tough to swallow their premium. For a gallon of Benjamin Moore Regal Select, they want $73, a 12% premium over other local BM retailers' $65. For Fresh Start primer, $57 vs $46, a 24% premium. And for a roll of Frog Tape, $14.59 vs $9.98 at HD, a 46% premium! Again, always happy to support local, but my wallet can only stomach so much. I really wanted this place to be my go to local hardware, but for most items, a few extra minutes of driving will save me MUCH coin over time. read more

I am happily surprised to say that service does exist in this country. So many times I walk aimlessly through Home Depot with not a person to be seen. Or a phone call that would just ring and ring. You never wander and wonder like at most stores - especially the big box stores. In this day of mega stores, you just can't beat a local businessman who cares for and works to keep his customers. Ramsey Hardware is one of those. We had a problem with a broken thermo pane and they did just about everything to resolve it. Pure class is exactly right. read more

This is my first time dealing with Mark and Ramsey hardware and I have to say it was excellent. I own a restoration business and we have been in the market for a new miter saw for quite some time. I found Mark online, and his price was not only CHEAPER than Home Depot, but the saw came with a free stand. Not only that, but Mark made sure to remind me to email him with any needs in the future and that he would try to help us out. If they only weren't so far away I would be there for all of our tool needs! read more

They know what they are doing...they offer great advice...they admit if they don't know or don't have it (rare)...and they do it with a smile and a few laughs...and I think the prices are fair as well. These people just totally took advantage of my wife who paid $100 for 2 gallons of paint. Seriously? $100 for 2 gallons of paint? When she asked why the price was so high, he said it would've been $50 for the builder's grade, but since he already mixed it, she HAD to pay. Don't trust them! read more
