I had a disappointing experience at this Home Depot. I approached three employees who were standing on the floor chatting. When they noticed me, two of them immediately walked away. The remaining employee had to call one of them back, and even then the interaction felt reluctant and unwelcoming. All I needed was to borrow a pen so I could label the back of paint chips, yet the response came across as rude and impolite. Customer service should feel approachable, especially for such a simple request. read more

As someone who has typically shopped with the competitor, I just left this location and received outstanding service in every department. We asked at every corner if we needed help and staff were quick to assist. They also had a wide selection of parts that have been scare at other stores. At check out two welcoming associates assisted us. I don't typically leave reviews, however, after today- HD has my business. read more

Went to buy a fridge. Could not find an associate close by, so I went to the customer service desk where there were 5 associates hanging out talking and asked for some help. They made a page over the intercom and after waiting another 10-15 minutes with no assistance I just left. Poor management. read more

My mother was given some garden cutter (not scissors) & they jammed & we couldn't figure out why. My mom assumed the gift came from there & we took it to ask if they knew what we could do. We were advised to take it to the service desk & they thought we wanted to return it & we had no receipt. The young lady asked another guy & he immediately took initiative & asked us to give him a moment & walked away with it. Within minutes he was back with them & they were. Working perfectly. He even took time out to explain to us how he had resolved the issue & what we needed to do in case it started happening again. Talk about great customer service!! I removed wallpaper from a room and needed to repair the damage from my removal and a previous owner's damages. I walked in and headed to the paint department. I was immediately greeted by an employee and told him what I was needing to do. He took me around the store and we collected everything I needed and he gave me a few pointers. I was in and out of the store in less than twenty minutes. I love this place. read more

I frequent this place often and here recently it's been for paint. Ugh. But, without a doubt, Jackie in the paint department is fantastic EVERY SINGLE TIME. She gives great, knowledgeable and helpful advise and she's always so genuine. I rented their flat bed truck @ $19 for 75 min to bring a kitchen cabinet to my home 2.5 miles away from the store. When I asked if I needed to put gas in the truck for such a short run and was told by the clerk to just make sure the gas gauge showed the same when I returned as when I left. The gauge showed just under a half tank when I left. 20 minutes later After having unloaded the cabinet at home I stopped for gas on my way back to the store. I put in a half gallon . The gauge never moved during my trip and was exactly in the same spot I found it after adding the gas. When the clerk went to check the truck on my return she told me that The gas reading showed I had not replaced the gas I used and that when I left the reading she made showed a complete half a tank and now it was below half a tank. I told her the gauge was below half a tank when I got in the truck. I showed the gas receipt. I explained my trip was only 5 miles. None of that made any difference. The manager who knows how to be rude in his politeness said the store does not track odometers and has no idea what kind of mileage their trucks get, preferring to listen to a clerk who thinks the gas meter was at half. They charged me $15 for gas for a 5 mile trip and lost a customer with their indifferent uncaring and dismissive attitude. Here the customer is flat out wrong all the time. read more

This morning I went to store #3641 on University Parkway in Winston Salem. I went to purchase a new riding lawn mower. I found the one I really wanted and went inside to try and find someone to help me. I did,after I explained what I wanted, he took me to the sales desk. I inquired about delivery, keep in mind I live less than 7 miles from this store. I was informed that despite the fact that I wanted to purchase a $1099.00 mower, there was a $95 delivery fee, and if I wanted to have a specific window of time ,as opposed to the basic 8 hour window, it would be another $25.00. So $120 to deliver a lawn mower. Seven miles away. I looked at the 2 guys and said that is ridiculous and no thank you. Even after that, no one offered to lower the price, get a manager ,nothing. Just walked away. I ended up at Lowe's. Where delivery was free. Please do not expect me to want to make a large item purchase there anytime soon. read more

On 12/11/21 we went to purchase a stove and dishwasher, the customer service was great, the order was scheduled for delivery for 12/17/21. On 12/13/21 we received an email that the delivery was rescheduled to 12/31/21. No big deal it will be here before the New Year. Nope on 12/27/21 we received another email that the delivery has been rescheduled to 1/14/22. At this point I'm speaking to management who states they will call you back the silence. I let it go, which brings me to today on 1/10/22 I received an email stating the delivery has been rescheduled to 2/24/22. Enough is enough, visited the store to request a refund only to find out I have to wait until 1/11/22 so they can confirm the items was not delivered. Offered to show the email as proof but they could not accept that as the need the cancellation number from the delivery department. If you have time to sit around and wait on your items to be delivered Home Depot is the place for you. I will be looking into making my purchase at Lowes Home Improvement. Never again will I step foot into Home Depot after I receive my refund!!! read more

This Home Depot is always dead. I like coming here because of that. The employees seem a little more knowledgeable than the Hanes Mall location. Because it is less busy, it is usually easier to find help if you need it. They offer a kids club the first Sat of every month, and a lady's night once a month where you can make a project and possibly win something. This location does a better job on the lady's night than the other Winston location. The employees are always friendly here. read more

Super slow help at the truck rental. Only one person was working the service desk which dealt with returns, online order pick up and truck rental. At the other location the rentals are separate and maybe that would help. We finally asked someone walking by for assistance and she pointed us to a manager who happened to be working at the paint center directly across from the service desk. It seems he would have noticed the long line forming and jumped in to help since he wasn't working with anyone. read more

I went to Home Depot in search of a faucet aerator. The items I was looking for was located on the very bottom rack almost to the floor. When I went to stand up I hit my head on the side display of metal aerators. This was incredibly painful. I reported to the Manager and she took down an incident report and stated someone would be in touch. No one ever followed up to see if I was okay after being injured on a rack that was on the outside of an isle. I pointed out how unsafe this was for a child who may not see it and be hit by approximately 8 metal aerators. I guess customer safety is not a concern for them. As long as they can sell products it doesn't matter who gets hurt in the meantime. I am okay but had a headache for several hours. read more

If you want to shop Home Depot go to the store on Hanes Mall Blvd. At this store the employees are very nice but not knowledgeable. I wanted paint mixed from a sample and it was not close to the color I want. It may be because the customer service person came over to the paint dept. to help me. The Hanes Mall store matched it perfectly. Also the store delivered the wrong appliance and took 2 weeks from a new delivery. And the carpet dept. doesn't know anything about scheduling the contractors. I won't shop at this store any longer. I have had too many issues. read more

I always am greeted and helped quickly at this Home Depot. The store is clean and well organized.

I walked up and asked a simple question to this elderly lady who worked in the garden department. "Excuse me, ma'am, where are the portulacas?" By her reaction you would've thought I asked her for her purse. Her response was snappy and rude - "WE DON'T HAVE ANY" and the look she gave me was an angry "who the hell are you?" type of look. It was extremely uncomfortable and unexpected. I will never shop at Home Depot again if this is the quality type of employee they plan on keeping around. read more

Their delivery and installation people didn't want to do an install and misinformed me about a gas range installation, saying the gas company would do it for free .... then they said multiple times they'd be back to take care of it ... 3 hours on hold spread out over 3 days later and yada, yada, yada, I'm out $150 and maybe 5 total hours of my time if they hadn't lied to me in the first place. read more

In 2010 we bought Silestone Countertops from this Home Depot for our kitchen. We were also told that Silestone required that their people install the countertops, not Home Depot's employees. Seven years later and now we have mold growing in the caulk that they used to seal where the countertop meets the backsplash behind my double sinks. They took out the previous tile and grout backsplash that we had since 1982, so the countertop and backsplash that they installed were both Silestone. We lived in this house for 23 years before having them install Silestone and we never had mold growing in the grout behind our sinks or anywhere else in our kitchen!! I have to believe that the caulk they used was either inferior and/or not mold resistant. Home Depot will not do anything about the mold and what I consider their inferior installation due to it being 7 years ago....but please explain why I did not have this problem for 23 years! We have 3 bathrooms that we are planning on remodeling hopefully within the next year.....we will not be using Silestone or any products from Home Depot. read more
