Main point: Horrible experience renting the Karcher Portable Spot and Detailer Rental. The assistant manager exhibited terrible judgement and customer service skills, essentially suggesting that I was a scammer. The background: I wanted to clean some area rugs and two couches at my house, so I rented the portable spot detailer. The rental order was completed at 8:22 a.m. I got the 24-hour rental, so the machine was not due until 8:30 a.m. the following day (per the paperwork). Since I telework most days, I picked up the rental intending to use it after I logged off at 5:30. By 6:00, I've hooked up the machine, added the solution/water, connected hoses. This is where the issue begins. For whatever reason, the rental did not work. The suction was working, but the mechanism that controls the solution spraying out was not functioning. Once I figure this out, I immediately call the rental department and the kid who works there tells me I can swap it out. Sorry, not interested. The machine did NOT work through no fault of my own. I wanted a refund. Maybe 20 minutes after I get off the phone with the employee, I'm back at the rental department. Mind you, it's now about 6:30 p.m. (again, the rental was for 24 hours and was due back at 8:30 a.m. the next morning). I'm tired and frustrated and am not interested in taking a different machine. I tell the employee again that I want a refund for my troubles. He says that he's unable to do so. I ask for the manager. The assistant manager (who claimed that the actual store manager was on vacation) asks me what the issue is. I tell her that I was rented an inoperable piece of equipment and that I wanted a refund. Her response: "Well ma'am, you should've called us when you discovered the problem." Frustrated, I tell her that I was JUST on the phone with the very employee that called her over less than 25 minutes ago. Her next response: "Well, you've had it for 10 hours, so we can't give you a refund" Me: ?????? We go back and forth for a bit (while I am justifiably frustrated, I do not yell or use foul language). I end up leaving. I was already annoyed at having to pay for a machine that did not work. But the lack of consideration and proper customer service of someone in management is appalling. This woman continuously brought up the fact that I had the rental in my possession for 10 hours, as if this were her trump card. I found it irritating at first, but upon reflection, I feel deeply offended and angry at the underlying implication: "You had the machine for 10 hours, so it's likely that you used it and are now lying about it and trying to fraudulently get your money back." MIND YOU: I had rented the machine for 24 hours. If anything, I returned the machine a full 14 hours before it was even due back! Also, let's think through this. Did she reasonably expect that I, having purchased a 24-hour rental, was going to go home and immediately use it? As I said, I worked for most of the day and planned on tackling my couches in the early evening. That seemed to be the implication. What difference does it make if I realized the machine didn't work an hour after I rented it or 20 hours after I rented it? That point was completely irrelevant. What is relevant is the fact that Home Depot provided me with a spot cleaner that was non-functional and expected me to just pay for it. And no...I wasn't going to start cleaning at 7 p.m. just to make sure I'd have it back to them by the next morning. Why should I inconvenience myself when Home Depot rental department (and that rude assistant manager) were at fault?? If I could give this zero stars for this experience, I would. read more

The exact thing that I needed to purchase for the upcoming super snow storm they were out of. I guess the entire city of Woodbridge came here before I did to get the essential things they would need. I figured this was the case since the line to the self check out registers was sxrynpeople deep. I did manage to get two small extension cords, some duct tape, and other small screws that I needed to install shelving. This store was definitely bustling for a Saturday morning. The Greeter person at the front of the store was kind enough to direct me to the restrooms, and he even gave me the restroom code to get in. The shopping experience was fairly normal except for the extended wait to check out. I also noticed that they did away with the paid registers where there would normally be a cashier. read more

The installation of both the carpet and the flooring was professional and flawless. No carpet seams showing, edges tucked perfectly, and the carpet stretched taut without a single wrinkle. The vinyl plank flooring was installed without any problems; the contractors handled the fitting of the planks with precision with zero gaps or uneven seams. I had two brand new refrigerators ruined by BEST BUY installers leaving me with no fridge or freezer for almost two weeks. They then told me they couldn't deliver for another two weeks. I then checked online at Home Depot. They promised delivery in Three days! It was delivered, installed, the BestBuy broken fridge moved to my garage awaiting return. They took great care in not bumping walls and doors. The two men who delivered and installed did a fantastic job and were courteous and professional. I highly recommend them. What this experience taught me is that Home Depot knows and stocks appliances and Best Buy is just playing at it. read more

Surprisingly there was a line formed for people to place their order which was a bit of a strain. Nevertheless I persevered and waited it out. There were 3 workers mixing the paint, and there wasn't a delay at all. I ordered five gallons of the Behr flat for the walls, which hopefully should suffice. I remember from previous experiences that planning a painting project always looks good on paper. Then you get into the actual work and end up dreading it. I was at the Home Depot, 14025 Foulger Sq Woodbridge, VA 22192 on Friday night 17 June 2022, and shopped there for decades. In that time, the customer service has always been exceptional, even when there were issues to be resolved. Tonight however, was not the case. I was going through the self-check at around 1800. I did not have my cellphone, so I could not access the military discount application. I asked the young man working at the self-check section if he could enter it for me. This young man had a terrible attitude. He told me it was not his job, he would not do it again, it took too much of his time and grumbled some other things beneath his mask. Then he crumbled up the military discount instruction sheet and handed it to me. Needless to say I was and remain very upset. If not for my wife, I would have lost my temper and left the store without making the purchase. Again, I have shopped at this store for decades and NEVER encountered anyone like this young man. If this is the type of people Home Depot is now hiring, I can easily go to the local Lowe's. The day of delivery they came was putting the pedestal to the washer something with screw happen and they could not put it together. I imagine all Home Depots are the same, can not stand this franchise; particularly, the Home Depot in Centre At Rollingwood, Woodbridge VA. From the moment you walk in the store, you are greeted with isles packed with merchandise; not conducive for a location that receives a large number of customers, you quickly feel like you are on I-95 during rush hour (unable to move around). Bottom line, store is very cluttered and dirty. Here lately, this store has replaced customer interaction at the checkout line by utilizing more self checkout registers as well as a single line for customers to wait. The entire area is complete chaos. I will visit this store (in the hopes it has improved) as an absolute last resort. read more

I went to this HD location right after it opened. It was horrible. It has improved 100%. After having issues with Lowe's, I gave HD another shot. I decided to make this my go to store for most things they carry. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is because of checking out. They need more registers, whether a regular check line or two out or self service registers. And there's one other issue, not with this store, but with their credit card and app. Every time I open the app a small pop-up ribbon slides across the screen saying something like this.... Pay with "Samsung Pay" and get 9.5% back. Well... I decided to set-up my Samsung Pay and put my HD credit card in so I could save. Unfortunately, when I did, it said something like, this company hasn't set up for Samsung Pay. When I was putting in the information, I noticed that Samsung Pay requires the card's expiration date, HD consumer cards have NO expiration date on them. WHY, please tell my WHY, HD offers cash back if they can't honor it because it doesn't exist for consumers???? It may work for HD business credit cards, but not for consumers. I hope in the near future HD consumer credit cards will be included for Samsung Pay. read more

I wish I could leave a zero star review. I ordered curbside pick up and they said it was ready, drove out 30 minutes it wasn't ready. They told me to give them time and MAYBE it would be ready. 3 hours pass and no message about the chairs so I drive out and just tell them I'll go in the store and pick them up myself even though I ordered curbside pick up. Then they proceeded to tell me once I drove out a second time that there isn't any in stock despite the app ready 140 chairs. Not until a manager overheard did they offer to go get it. It was on a top shelf and they needed the forklift to retrieve it. I got the chairs 6 hours after I placed my order. This is sad and the fact that only the manager cared to help. The other workers were quite frankly lazy and need to be fired asap. If you don't want to end up waiting over 6 hours for anything go somewhere else. It was quite a task to find items I needed for a few projects and I was getting very frustrated with the confusion from several associates about where things were in the store. This location is not well known for their employees assisting with customers. They need to hire more employees since 7 out of 10 times you cannot find someone to assist you. Recently I have visited this location and I met with employees who were new and were more than happy to assist me in moving my big purchases in both onto my cart AND into my vehicle. Those are the type of people they need to keep. However, if your looking to run in and get your product and leave quickly unfortunately that will not happen. They usually have very LONG lines which is unsat and this makes for a very tiresome and stressing visit. It would be great to see areas with ideas with items both from Home Depot and customers who used Home Depot items. I ordered furniture online last week, the original delivery date during the week was delayed, and today on a Sunday they didn't call me and they just dumped it off! No pictures no calls nothing! Every other business Ive ordered from will call before a big delivery. I am at a loss. I'm not at the home, no one is answering the phone number, they only communicated with emails! It's horrible. My furniture is outside in the rain somewhere and I'm 8 months pregnant with no way to move the box upstairs. Absolutely horrible service!! I ordered a fridge nov 20. Had delivery set up for a few days before thanksgiving. When the delivery team shows up they tell me they cant change out the fridge because they dont do plastic tubing. Or rather he had never seen a plastic valve. I was advised to call the customer service line and they would set up a plumber to come change out my line (I would get a call in 48 hrs). Fast forward a week later I call to check the status of this plumber. They have no idea an will reach out. Few hours later a different person calls to check on the delivery not related to the fact I had called in the morning. The plumbers call to say between 3 and 6. I wait. I call at 555 to ask if they are coming oh the guy is running late about 30 minutes. Okay. They show up 730pm. Then they tell me they dont so this work and we have wasted their time.... do not provide names or business cards when asked. Spoke to a store manager at homedepot ahe promised to get some real plumbers out and when we call back shes on vacation and the other MOD say I dont know guess you have to call customer service again.... online customer service has NO idea what they are doing and do no leave notes so each time we have to re explain the situation. Finally we decide we will figure out the tubing ourselves yay youtube and willing husband. Finally get the fridge delivered. And the delivery guys had taken apart my back door and it no longer locks. Now I wait for the home store to make the claim with their insurance.... definitely dont buy your appliances from here unless you can take it home yourself and know about plumbing.
