Run, don't walk away from the company. This is one of those companies where you want to give them zero stars. I was not present during the evaluation, as I lived out of town. I trusted they would stand by their word/work. BIG MISTASK. They are nice and friendly, however, if you the home you are looking at has any real problems they would not be able to tell you, even if it was staring in the face. Home inspection companies can only assess from what they see, they are not allowed to open a closet door or move a dining room chair. The Home Exam sent out Paul. Yeah, he told me the door knob on one of the bathrooms was on backwards. And there was a little bit of wood rot on the siding. But the things that really mattered, he was clueless. He mentioned the sliding glass door did not open/ close well. Well, the door had a gap on the bottom left side and top right, why, because the floor there was a crack in the foundation causing the door frame to bend and be much lower on one side. But Paul never looked past, the door didn't close well. Not sure what he did to check the water pressure. Because if he turned all the faucets on at the same time, he would have seen a significant drop in pressure. Lucky for me, the city came out and it was on their side, problem solved, no thanks to The Home Exam. He noticed one of the outlets was not legal, but did not check if they all did, which they did not. During renovations, found old termite damage, which was mentioned in passing on his report. To cut him some slack, it would not be apparent during his exam, however, the mold was a different issue. Found extensive mold in the kitchen. Something that a skilled home inspector should have picked up on given the stench. Please see picture. There were so many other things missed, however, the long and the short of this again is STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. To find all the undiscovered issued was horrible. Dealing with Mike Chevalier, the president, was much worse. First, called the company and told them the situation. Christina said, not to worry, they have a warranty company to provide financial assist for these situations. After two attempted via email to get the paperwork, I went looking for the office. Had difficulty because their name isn't even on the door. Christina came out from her desk is short, shorts and barefoot. Yeah they have a warranty company, pays out $2000 for the mold and $2000 for the structural damage. Christina and Paul said, Mike would fight to get me the money. To say I was upset, would be understatement. Mike called me and I told him I had nothing to say to him. Fast forward. I emailed Mike several times, telling him he caught me at a bad time when he called, no response. The warranty company denied both claims and I quote, Mike said, "I will not help you." Does anyone really want to hire a company that will not fight for their clients. Again, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I asked for my money back from Mike for the inspection, he said "No". So much for standing by your product. But, he does support his employees, too bad they are not worth the money I paid. read more

I purchased their top of the line inspection $600for a house purchase Their report was well written but 60 days later I'm putting in a new heat pump motor. The fan never turned off. How can they miss that $535. Pool salt cylinder defective $755. How did they miss this. And there is a myriad of other items that they missed. And their report said everything was in excellent condition. I would NOT recommend them. Run and get another company. read more

This company is horrible! Hired this company for a 4 point inspection, they are quick to come to the property so they can collect your payment but then leave you hanging a while to give a report. The timeframe to get a final not as promised by the company. Must have placed 5 calls trying to get a final report without an answer.....still trying. The poor job done by this company cost me $750. They failed to identify a side door in the garage that was rotted because the previous owners had allowed standing water to pool at the base for what must have been months if not years. It was evident the wood frame had been repaired at least once before. The metal threshold plate was missing and the base was plainly rusted. read more

Inspected our house and found basically nothing wrong. After we moved in we kept discovering issues inside the house; faulty kitchen outlets and switches, ice maker on the refrigerator never has worked and leaks, ceiling lights in laundry area and living room work sporadically and the irrigation sprayers are broken outside the lanai. Quite obviously they did not perform a thorough inspection of this property. Their fees were a little higher but they were available to come out quickly and we were in a time crunch. Should have known better! Now I wonder what else they didn't take the time to inspect properly. read more

If I could this company a negative number, I would. Their home inspector, Michael Chavelier, did not do a thorough inspection as promised and advertised. I closed on 1-31-2020 and moved in on February 1, 2020. I have experienced problems with the septic, plumbing, electrical, and foundation systems since the 1st. If I would have known all these problems, I would have never bought this home. Yesterday, my home flooded due to a broken pipe that was missed in the inspection. My new floors are ruined. Today, a foundation company found major issues with the foundation. The cost to fix all these problems is well over $80,000. Every licensed professional including plumbers, electricians, septic repair person, foundation repair company, ect have all stated this house should have never passed inspection or code. At first, I was very satisfied with this company. We were purchasing a house and our realtor recommended them. They came and did their inspection and everything seemed fine. We later found out that there was an electrical issue that was overlooked. Not a big deal. What is a big deal is the ignored phone calls and emails that I made to this company multiple times. My realtor said she tried reaching out to Mike multiple times as well. Communication is everything. If they would have just responded to me and said anything, that would have been fine. The worst home inspector is Mike Chevalier of the Home exam. I hired him and paid $250 extra to inspect the pool. He said it was working. The day I moved in, it did not work. The pool company said that it had not been working for over 9 months!!! Cost me over $1000 to fix. I called, emailed Mike Chevalier to discuss and had the realtor do the same. He never returned my phone calls or the realtors. He is a fraud. read more
