Glad we tried this California brut Rose Cava!
Greg L.

Our favorite Farmington area restaurant is always a good choice. The food is flavorful;the cocktails different (but not really weird), and the team is friendly and attentive. Our server, Jordan, quickly got our cocktails while we looked at the specials. My winter gin cocktail was tasty and looked great. The truffle lemon artichokes and balsamic glazed roasted Brussels were a great start and a full meal for my wife as well. I chose the bbq bahn mi - loved it. Had so much bbq pork, and the cilantro, jalapeño, and pickled carrots added some spiciness. Am glad it was on a fresh baguette - too often they aren't at other restaurants

Chicken Parm

This place has such potential. Very nice and comfortable inside. The hostess was very nice and we were seated right away. The waiter was personable and attentive when he was not running, but obviously over stretched. After waiting for food for half an hour he brought rolls and an apology. Another half hour and the food arrived. My husband enjoyed his salad very much and the first few bites of the Chicken Parm was delicious and then it tasted smoky. I looked at the under side and found it was burnt, the 2nd one was worse. I didn't have time to wait for another, so I scraped off the breading and finished it and some pasta. When I showed the waiter he immediately went to his supervisor to see what could be done and they gave me a choice of getting another or a reduction in my bill. I saw the supervisor taking the burnt one in for the chef to see. I truly appreciated their making it right procedures.

Limited hours with a break between lunch and dinner

We went here with friends for lunch and no one was disappointed. We sat at an outside table on a pleasant day. Our young server was stretched a bit with also having inside tables to serve, but she was very nice and accommodating, and we had a good chat while we were waiting through the various stages of the meal. I had the Reuben and it was excellent and the French fries were fine. I ordered a side of onion rings and they were a bit more crunchy than I prefer, but you can't win them all. It could even be the way they were intended to be, and you might prefer them that way. The draught beer seemed a bit pricey for my budget ($8), but they had several Maine brews to choose from along with bottles, wines and other drinks. I stuck with water this time. Our friends were happy enough with their choices (which by the way were somewhat limited to pub food). One had a turkey sandwich and the other a chicken salad. Their in house potato chips were pretty good. So if we find ourselves in college-town Farmington a few more times for lunch I would not hesitate to return there. But you know how it is: our next visit or two will find us trying out different restaurants!

Nice place in center of town. Brussel sprouts were amazing. No kids menu but they were able to do pasta with butter. They have some half sandwiches, so 1/2 BLT was good for kids too. Nice staff. Quiet and spacious, with a nice bar area separate from dining.

So the first time I came here I ordered the French toast as well, but it was delicious. This time it was dry and the service was Meh! I raved about this place the first time but I was not impressed at all this time. I also ordered two chicken breast on the side and was given a portion of chicken for a chicken salad?! Very disappointed but these are the breaks when different people are cooking your food. Nothing to see here.

Delicious food and great service. Kind of the only upscale-ish place in town. Good cocktails too

The service was horrible. So slow and ever came around to check on drinks the whole 1.5 hours we were there.

Over all they are terrible. Terrible work environment. The cooks are not sanitary and they just aren't a place I would recommend to eat at.

The service was fantastic. She was super attentive. My husband got a club sandwich that was humongous and I got a grilled cheese with bacon. I was feeling the need for comfort. While we waited, my husband got that sunfish beer he liked so much one of the other bars we went to, and I got a mango margarita with spicy tequila . I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised with my drink. It was top-notch. The server talked about how they're looking at better ingredients and how they work on their seasonal drinks not something you expect from a college dive bar. Our sandwiches came out. My husband's was huge, and mine was perfectly cooked, as well as had fantastic amount of bacon on it. I don't know if this place is trying to be better than it once was or if it's just consistently good but it's really something that we would do again if we were in town .

Everything was fine. We went into a basement downstairs, very sketchy. My strawberry lemonade…read moredidn't come for 20+ minutes? Don't know why that was, all you have to do is pour it into a glass and serve it. Wings weren't great, kind of bland. The mango habanero wasn't really spicy and didn't have great flavor. My burger was cooked medium, pretty well cooked but was dry and not really juicy. Quesadillas were average and my brother liked his food. I would really only come back here if it was the last resort.

Being winter, we ate inside this time! As always, and as mentioned in the first review, I had to find something different to try, as I cook a lot of breakfasts for myself at home. I settled on the corned beef hash, made in house, with the home fries, eggs and toast. The hash was excellent, as were the home fries and rye toast. The eggs were scrambled well enough, I suppose, but they seemed bland. Maybe I should have asked for a little salsa! The coffee was just okay considering they were advertising the Carrabassett brand they used. My wife ordered the avocado scramble, which also came with eggs and home fries, and she added bacon on the side. Unlike ravenous me, she had to take her eggs home. I can't forget to mention the server (Maggie?) who was friendly, chatty and took great care of us. I recommend Vittles even for breakfast, but I will repeat what I said in the other review: I want to get back there for lunch or dinner!
