The steak sandwich had much more grilled steak on it then I expected, and the steak was very tender and perfectly prepared. The sandwich was on custom bread which was the perfect combination of soft bread with a great crusty exterior. I also ordered a side salad to replace the french fries; was a really good salad with multiple ingredients and a great homemade ranch dressing. Our waitress was also excellent, and moved us to a different table at our request, with a better review of the entertainment. We will definitely return and recommend it to friends in the area.

Steener's is located a bit outside of the Bemus Point main drag, but there are a couple of other businesses nearby. The building looks modern from the outside, inside it looks like the original bar area has been there quite a while, they then added a dining room and later a second dining room. The decor is casual tavern style, lots of wood and mellow colors without much extra. The menu is a nice mix of typical bar food with a good selection of fish and seafood which makes sense for a place so near to Chautauqua Lake. Service was good, the waitress was friendly. I ordered the fish and chips since it was highlighted in the menu. The order came out quickly, a huge batter fried fish fillet on top of a load of fries with side cups of tarter sauce and coleslaw. The fries and coleslaw were just what you expect, good but nothing special. The fish was outstanding, mild flaky white fish in a perfectly crunchy coating; delicious and very satisfying. My only complaint was that while it was nicely presented on a square plate, having the huge fish fillet on top of the fries made it difficult to eat since I had to move the fish around to get to the fries and cutting the fish with the fries underneath did not work well. I appreciate attractive food presentation is important, but this was too much food for the size of the plate. I really liked my dinner at Steener's, if they could raise the level of the side dishes to match the fried fish this would be truly exceptional. Keep making great fish, just upgrade the rest of food to match.

He did not seem to care about any of the patrons, just about rushing them all out! I ordered two pitchers of Bud Light and my boyfriend ordered two "Red Bull" and vodkas which turned out to be made with an energy drink that is not even Red Bull. As the bar emptied out, the bartender never called last call and/or advised us that he was closing, he simply closed out our credit card and brought it over for us to sign. I was appalled when receiving the bill that each "Red Bull" and vodka was priced at $8.50! To charge that price when using generic energy drinks is outrageous!!! We never intend to return to this establishment and discourage you from making the same mistake that we did!
