    Savory Breakfast Bowl
    Jake L.

Farm to table, locally sourced, great coffee, owner and executive chef running the kitchen...loved The Hub Cafe for breakfast this morning. Savory breakfast bowl vegan with avocado. Kids ordered grilled cheese. Easy 5 stars. Easy.

Just a delightful experience at The Hub Cafe. Came in on a Sunday morning around 10:30-11 and found a seat for 2 fairly easily. Coffee was hot and delicious, biscuit was savory with the yummy jam, avocado toast was delightful, and breakfast bowl was life-changing. Shout out to the staff for recommending I add syrup to the bowl - it sent it over the top. Friendly atmosphere, good food, and easy location means I'll be adding this to my rotation.

Food was good and they offer alternative options for people with food restrictions (like vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free,etc.) which is a plus. The Chai tea was grainy and very spiced, which didn't suit our tastes. Cute dishes and cutlery. We did have to ask for our water to be refilled, but they were busy and didn't have many people working so that's understandable to some degree.

Found this delightful care for lunch. I had the huevous rancheros. It was delicious. Full of black beans and sauce. I added a side of backing. We sat on the back patio which overlooked an amphitheater and a walking park. The staff was wonderful and the day perfect.

    Molé chilaquiles
    Andre C.

I've been coming to the Hub Cafe for years and they have never let me down. On my most recent visit I ordered molé chilaquiles. The molé was a less intense and heavier on cumin than other molés that I have had, but it was delicious soaked up with the thick chips. The braised pork shoulder that came on the chilaquiles was very tender and moist. Feta sprinkled on top added a bit of funk that made the dish more interesting. Overall, I was impressed by the execution of these chilaquiles, especially from a restaurant that isn't Mexican. I ordered a cold brew coffee with homemade pumpkin syrup as my drink, and it was also great. The Hub Cafe consistently has great coffee. The service was good as well. Even though this cafe is a bit pricey, they rarely disappoint and they support other local businesses so I think it's worth every penny.

Service was prompt and the food was delicious....you won't find offerings like this anywhere else in town. The new mural is gorgeous! Tried the Blueberry Power Bowl....oatmeal, granola, blueberries, banana and peanut butter. Very filling and a delicious combo of flavors!

    Breakfast sandwich with added bacon

Stopped in for a quick brunch. It is a super cute cafe where you order at a window and they bring the food out to your table. We went on a Saturday morning right before the rush and our food came out quickly. I got the breakfast sandwich and added bacon. It was really good but needed a little bit more aioli. The sandwich was on a homemade biscuit that was sooooooo good. I also got an iced chai latte and it was really good as well. My friends enjoyed their food as well. There is street parking and then a parking lot with extra space across the street which made it convenient. I'd recommend checking it out but be prepared for a line if stopping in on a Saturday morning!

    Huevos Rancheros

The staff are charming and polite. The ambiance is light and bright, and the food... let me tell you. These Huevos Rancheros are the best I've had. The floral notes from the corn tortilla hit your nose, then you taste the black beans, the red and green salsa, the perfectly cooked eggs, the pickled onions, crispy tortilla strips, cilantro, and omg that feta... I don't even like feta, but theirs is something else. 10/10 would recommend.

    Huevos rancheros

Came here for the first time and I probably shouldn't have came here starving. I ordered the Huevos rancheros and french toast. Realistically I wasn't expecting anything authentic but obviously nothing so small in terms of portion. The Salsa was flavorless, the huevos rancheros were more like two eggs on top of a tortilla. Im a small gal but ate my meal in 5-6 bites. The French toast on the hand was delicious however, I was kind of disappointed to see that they had already put the syrup and I couldn't do it myself. I love to drown my French toast in it.. Definitely don't come here hungry overall the food was good but not worth a brunch like meal. It was more of small bites meal. The coffee was great! You have to order your food at the counter and then find around seating if that's what you're into.

So we're finally here getting to try what I am seeing other customers eating. One having Biscuits n Gravy. Wow. REALLY good everything. Order as one walks in. Coffee latte drinks here also. They are pretty good. Honey syrup. Local sourced foods place here. I have not been to many. More restaurants are trying this. Is healthier for sure. Anything besides cans or packaged parts! I am enjoying Smoky Pork and Local Mushroom Grits. B have Fall French Toast. Both beautiful and amazing good. This has been a unique food experience.

    Kale Salad with Mixed Greens
    Haylee M.

Tldr: Very limited menu, No options for substitutions, small serving size. Food is flavorful, but very hit or miss Came here on a last minute plan change and I was actually quite disappointed by the food. I got the Kale salad; I asked for dressing on the side, And the person who took my order said okay. But it came all dressed. I went to return it and ask for it on the side and they said they would not be able to do that because the kale is massaged with the salad dressing. I ended up just returning that and asking for a regular side salad instead. They gave me more quantity of that same salad with the toppings but used mixed greens instead. Very small serving size here considering it's supposed to be an entree item. It was a good combination with the beet and the goat cheese, but eating any parts separately was not good at all. The dressing by itself wasn't too great either. I also asked them for an option to add some chicken or the protein to the salad and there was none. This is the biggest surprise because most restaurants are able to offer some additions. I got slices of toast on the side and it was actually over toasted so the bread was too hard. The jam that came with was also very tart and a bit sour as opposed to sweet so I ended up having that toast plain. I'm usually quite a fan of plain toasted bread, but this was a bit too hard for that to be enjoyable. My fiance got the Chicken Bulgogi Tacos and really loved it. I tried a piece and not going to lie, I was actually really good! Very good balance of everything and it came with a little bit of mixed greens which you could add to the salad. Not a lot of places do that so we were appreciated that they actually added some vegetables on. He also got a vanilla latte but there was nothing too fancy about it he said. The friend we went with got a giant mocha and also a Hub Skillet. She said everything tasted really good and it was loaded with a lot of stuff, but we both agreed that the serving size was quite small.

The reading area has inviting chairs just waiting to be used. The inclusive mission of providing a supportive work experience for those with special needs is obviously at play here with a little bit of confusion at the ordering counter that ensued on our visit. Everything worked out and my friend and I enjoyed coffee and an early lunch. We both ordered drip coffee and were offered cold brew as well. We both had cream poured into our coffees until we said stop. I think the decaf and regular coffee may have been switched around, but the workers tried so hard to get it right. I had a sausage and egg breakfast burrito in a crispy flour tortilla, while my friend had an Italian sandwich. Hers came piping hot, too hot to eat for a few minutes. She enjoyed the Black Forest ham, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella, and pesto on a toasty ciabatta roll, served with crispy potato chips. Although we just had brewed coffee, there are a lot of fancy drinks, coffee-based and other non-coffee libations. Pair those with one of the many pastry and sweet choices. You'll be back for more!

I ordered a mocha half calf. It was drinkable if you just want caffeine. The café had a lot of seating and some shopping. Something unusual to me was a selection of different kinds of chocolate covered items that you could buy in measurement. Not prepackaged. The location we visited was in Haymarket District downtown. It's been there 45 years. They're baked goods are made downstairs I was told. I tried the coffee cake, which was excellent, but I did not care for the chocolate croissant. It was very tough and very little chocolate. I did like the outside terrace seating which faced the main street of the Haymarket district. I love the experience of the shop and the terrace, but if I'm looking for good the flavor of coffee, I would probably go somewhere else.

I tried Meadowlark coffee too. It was tolerable, but not good. Being from Kansas City, I did not realize how fortunate I am to have several spots with their own blend of beans, and freshly air roasted beans while you wait. But I'm so glad we stayed an extra day because we came across Cultiva Coffee. It was about 10 minutes from our hotel and it was so worth it. They also had a seasonal crêpe that had strawberries and chocolate ganache. It was so good. No, it was excellent. My husband and I almost fought over the last bite. But we were certainly measuring up the size of the bites. Lol the atmosphere was so cute and original. I absolutely loved it. I took a minute to tell them how much I appreciated them before I left, but I'm also telling you now. In addition to the Coffee, I appreciated the Service. When I ordered, the young lady never made me feel like I needed to hurry with what I was gonna say or that I wanted too many details. I appreciate this as an older person. I get tired of the impatience of young people these days and she was very kind. And the person who made the drink, made it perfectly to my liking. Not too hot to where I had to wait to drink it, but not just warm like it had been cooling off. I admit, I am very critical when it comes to my cappuccino. That's why I make it at home most the time so I can have it the way I want it. So a place that checked all the boxes is rare to me. If you try this place, I hope you have the same experience.
