I stop here because it's one of the few coffee spots in Bandon off the highway. I've given it a couple tries and its so incredibly hot every time. I can't be the only one who has burnt their tongue on the drinks here. I shouldn't have to ask for a drinkable temp when I obviously plan to drink it. read more

Look no further for great coffee!! Thanks to the help of other Yelpers I found this coffee place not far from our vacation house! As we pulled up I saw the long line of cars that had me a little overwhelmed but I thought you know the coffee must be that good. Everyone in my party were on the same level and ordered the same thing, the java chip blended drink. Amazing!! The one friend who ordered something else was a hazelnut mocha blended and once I tried theirs I thought to myself how many more times and different things can I get before we have to go back home? There isn't much good coffee in Bandon even though there are plenty off coffee joints. The Human Bean, I know, dumb name but aren't all coffee shop names a little too silly (Lovin' Cup, Kafein, Common Grounds, Brew Ha Ha et al), is more than decent. The Human Bean is strictly drive-thru which is convenient for the accidental tourist who is speeding through Bandon along US 101 to their beach cottage. The place is located in the parking lot of the Price-N-Pride grocery store. The coffee is hot and you get a chocolate covered espresso bean with your coffee. I found the service friendly and efficient. A-OK place for a drive-thru coffee fill up. read more

What! Snickers Mocha? What! Near a Fred Meyers? I feel like I'm back in Alaska! Imagine my delight when I discovered that Oregon had all these little coffee huts alongside the road. The wait was a bit longer than usual I felt, compared to similar establishments that I've been to in the past, but the coffee was pretty good, the customer service was decent, and our drinks came with little chocolate covered coffee beans on top (I miss this so much-- not many places do this anymore). Came here on a rainy Sunday evening to grab something hot. Ordered a Mexican hot chocolate. The attendant was friendly. The blended drink menu looked very good but it was just a but too filling for me at the time. Maybe next time I will try one of their many blended options. They also have a lot of options for caffeinated and non caffeinated items. Which is great cause I do not drink caffeine. I would go back if I was thirsty and in town. read more

I asked for my drink iced, but they made it hot, so I asked for it iced once they handed it to me. I asked politely and even said it would be OK if they couldn't remake it (there was nobody behind me otherwise I would have just taken it hot). The girl working the window was super friendly and understanding but the girl making the drink literally looked back at me and rolled her eyes. I ordered a breve, saw the girl grab the milk that her co worker had just used that was just sitting there and poor into my cup. I asked her if that was half and half, she said, ahuh. It was not, nor was it frothed! A breve is with freshly frothed half and half. The coffee also tasted liked a second pressing. 3.50$, it was awful! She also was not wearing gloves and handles the lid and that candy bean thing. Some barista education may be good for employees! read more

Much better this time! Decent coffee, perhaps they should consider using heavy whipping cream, just something I like. Wasn't too busy this time NLT one car ahead of me. Nice service and even have Far Dog a treat. Really it's as good as the next place but the only one for miles so I will be back with luck they will keep improving. They offer four varieties of dairy-free milk (almond, soy, hemp or coconut). That is VERY impressive. The service was genuinely friendly. I recommend the Irish Cream Breve with hemp milk. Love the free candied espresso beans, too. read more

The baristas are always smiling and happy here. The chai lattes are amazingly good either hot or cold. And it's always great to get that chocolate covered coffee bean on every drink. Have been to this location quite a few times and always seem to leave disappointed. The service is terribly slow, the Baristas aren't very friendly and the coffee drinks are always steamed to the point of undrinkable. Alas, I am a coffee junkie that needs her fix when traveling to the coast to visit family, and find myself returning to this establishment for two reasons: 1) this is the only drive-thru that I'm aware of in the area, and 2) I frequent Human Bean locations in the Medford area regularly and never have these issues, so I keep hoping that the Bandon location is going to finally live up to it's Rogue Valley counterparts... This morning, after a long holiday weekend without any "fancy" coffee, I was craving a mocha something serious, so we stopped by The Human Bean. Our order included 2 mint hot chocolates (for the kids), a mocha and a hazelnut latte...not very difficult, right? Apparently, wrong! The Barista got a look of utter shock and confusion, had to get out a notepad and ask us to repeat our order. After writing our order down in what seemed to be great detail, she still managed to get our order wrong...those mint hot chocolates for the kids ended up as mint mochas (coffee included). Thankfully, they taste tested and figured it out immediately. When we asked the Barista if she put coffee in the mint hot chocolates, her response was "Yes, you didn't want coffee in them?". Really? She even watched us hand them to the kids in the backseat. She remade the drinks (minus the coffee) and as I write this on my phone an hour out of Bandon, my mocha has finally cooled off enough that I can drink it and it is quite good...thus the second star! read more

Always friendly service....but what I really want is great espresso drinks. You can always count on their frozen drinks since those are "recipes" they can follow. But I get the impression staff is not well trained with hot drinks -- latte milk is always flat never creamy, and their espresso is not extracted properly, thus weak. I think I've spent enough money there giving them opportunities to redeem themselves, but I'll stop there in the future when I'm desperate and am willing to settle for mediocre at best.
