The Loft is a small, cozy second-story venue on the waterfront in Bandon. Our group of six, plus our three-year-old granddaughter, arrived a little late in the morning for a quick breakfast before heading off to wedding preparations. The rustic look and the view overlooking the water and old town Bandon immediately set a relaxed tone. The wait staff stood out from the start. They were attentive without hovering and made sure our granddaughter was entertained--offering crayons, chatting with her, and making her feel part of the visit. That small kindness went a long way after our long trip up from Galveston the night before. The food was a mixed experience but enjoyable overall. The girls ordered the thick-cut French toast with marionberry compote--crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Easily the star of the table. I chose the corned beef hash, which was less traditional--more like deli corned beef with chunks of baked potato. While not what you'd expect from classic corned beef hash, it was fresh and had its own kind of local charm. Final Thoughts The Loft offered one of the best service experiences we had during our stay in the area. The warm hospitality paired with a beautiful view made it memorable, and I would gladly return. One goes up an inside stairway to get to the restaurant -- the door does looks like it might be the wrong place, but it's not. This is a cute little restaurant right on the water. There is balcony seating but unfortunately it's on the street side. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated at lunchtime on a nice sunny summer day. The highlight was the AMAZING baytini cocktail. I will go back just for this drink! The waitress makes it herself by infusing fresh blueberries and basil in Hendrix Gin! I ordered 2!! The Corn beef hash was delicious. They make their own corn beef. Stopped in super quick just for some soup. Our server was able to take and give us our order in a very timely manner. We only ordered a bowl of clam chowder and a bowl of lobster bisque. The chowder was pretty good but the lobster bisque was fantastic. The restaurant itself is completely upstairs. I really wanted to give them 5 stars - but due to a couple of key misses, I had to take away a star. It's a cute place. But not handicap friendly - you have to take steps. Love the view of the water and pier. Excellent service. We started with spicy bloody Mary's with bacon and veggies. The optional tajin rim was fabulous. I asked for a cup of the salmon chowder which was delightful perfectly seasoned and creamy but not thick. With a beautiful piece of garlic toast. Since it was brunch time, the Hubbs got the French toast with half marionberry and half strawberry compotes. Perfectly cooked, crunchy and sweet. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict with brown-butter sauce. Here's where I had the problem. The eggs were cooked perfectly. They used thinly sliced ham, which was okay. I like the sauce. but the English muffin must have been "toasted" on the flattop. The bottom crust was so tough I couldn't cut it with a table knife and the inside part was really soggy. The second miss was the hash browns. Just dry, cubed potatoes with no flavor. Overall a good meal, but fix the basics so they rise to the quality of the rest of the food! Spent a couple of days in Bandon recently... We enjoyed this place. We were immmediately seated. The indoors area is kinda small, but we got a table right away. Our waitress was Very pleasant and so was the other fellow working tables. I ordered a Bloody Mary, she a Vodka Cran and placed our orders. Came out pronto. I got corned beef hash and she got the biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious and piping hot! They even came to refill our water glasses. This place is a must try! First of all, lovely staff and delicious food. We got there at brunch -- I got their half order of biscuits and gravy and home fries. My fiancé ordered their crab cake eggs benedict. The biscuit was light and fluffy with a tasty sausage gravy , topped with bacon bits and green onions. The home fries were a perfect side (also topped with green onions). The crab cake eggs benedict was served on a bed of spinach. It was flavorful and the poached egg was cooked to perfection. One of our favorite places when visiting Bandon. It's a small quaint place so we usually plan our visit outside of the busy hours. The last time we visited, they had a couple specials that were really outstanding. My fiancé tried the wagyu burger with a cream cheese/blue cheese sauce and it's one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. I opted for the lobster, bisque and side salad. The salmon chowder is also outstanding. The drink special was a citrus Marion berry drink that came in a martini glass. Those could be very dangerous as they are very yummy!! I'll start with the good...I'm a clam chowder snob and I have been searching the California and Oregon coast for more than 20 years for the BEST clam chowder EVER! I have to tell you that I FINALLY FOUND IT HERE at THE LOFT!!!! DO yourself a favor and GET THE CLAM CHOWDER...you won't be disappointed! Now, on to the rest...Had the benedict... it was good only thing I would love a little more of (as was also the request of my dining guest) was a little more lemon juice in the hollandaise. And for the negative... the potatoes were flavorless and very unevenly cooked. Some were nearly raw, while others were over cooked. They had no seasoning at all. Loft is a great spot on the coast. We visited during the height of the pandemic so they weren't open for indoor dining but we still got some delicious brunch for take out! My hubby and I came to The Loft for Easter brunch. We arrived right when they opened and got a lovely table inside overlooking the harbor. They have a small but friendly ambiance. The service was excellent! Our server and assisted made sure we had water and took our order just when we were ready. Drinks arrived timely. I ordered an orange mimosas and my husband ordered the Bloody Mary. My mimosas was good but my husband said his drink was excellent! The slice of bacon that came with the drink was the perfect touch. For brunch, I ordered the crispy French toast with Marion berry compote. My hubby ordered the corn beef hash. Neither items were made the traditional way and both were delicious! Wish I could give the restaurant a review. Despite Yelp and at least one other website claiming this establishment is dog friendly, it is not. The hostess was very polite in telling me so, but I was told only service dogs are allowed on the patio. So, I can only assume the patron's dog who was on the patio at the time is a service dog. This must be a recent change in policy because the cashier at the hot dog place next door was surprised my dog was not allowed on the patio at The Loft. read more

The restaurant itself, although small is on the second floor and therefore you can see the sea and the pier (and the view was really nice), it was nice to have been seated outside but it was a little on the cool side so we opted to be seated indoors. There was a bit of a wait but once seated we were greeted immediately by a very friendly and accommodating server, who took our drink orders immediately. Their menu was not extensive but they have good choices. I opted for the fish and chips while the husband chose the salmon burger and the daughter just had the soup and salad. The soup she chose was the lobster bisque and boy was it delicious. It was creamy but the cream was not overpowering that you can taste the lobster and the other ingredients in it. Just absolutely delicious. I forgot to take pictures of the burger and the soup in my hunger. Hubby's salmon burger was also mouth watering and according to him, was seasoned just right. My fish and chips was not too bad either. The fish was not soaking in oil at all and the panko bread is better than the batter that other places use. Their Cole Slaw was also good, it didn't taste like pure mayonnaise, in fact the dressing was light with a hint of sweetness to it. The tartar sauce was also creamy and not greasy, oily-looking like some restaurants serve. And I had my usual mimosa and was served how I like it, which is more champagne than orange juice. Can't wait to eat here again next year when we come back to visit Bandon. read more

The waitress was beyond polite and super sociable. She made sure we were completely catered to but it was unbearable attention. You know when you have a pesky waitress that keeps asking you how you are? This was nothing like that but rather a genuinely interested waitress who wanted to level of service to be the best.
