Thankful for the Freebie @ The Human Bean during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Medford, OR. While this location was quite busy on a weekday morning, I received good customer service when ordering and at the window. The drink and food menus were straightforward and the coffee house was adorable. I'm so disappointed in the quality of Human Bean. I keep trying to give you guys a chance to improve but it's getting worse and worse. I ordered a small iced americano with snow powder and cream. My drink of choice for a decade and I have what seems like sugar water, I cannot taste the coffee. Then I ordered a blueberry muffin and I received a processed muffin top that tastes like artificial blueberry or the freeze dried muffin mix that you can buy for a buck. I took one tiny bite and threw it in the trash. I can't get the gross taste out of my mouth. It's worse than Dutch bros and that's saying something. What happened to the real muffins? I got an iced coffee from the Barnett kiosk. I asked for lots of cream/half & Half and got it with too much ice for early March. The coffee is not bitter as is that of a certain world-wide chain. Some of the specialty drinks looked very attractive until I saw how many calories they had- nice that the calories were posted. There are too many attractive women here and I am too old (and too married) to do anything about pursuing them. read more

We showed up on a busy Sunday morning. The drive through arrangement is well thought out and having someone take your order before arriving at the window really made things go smoothly. Service was friendly and knowledgable. We ordered six drinks and all of them were perfect. I especially enjoyed my chai tea latte, one of the best I've ever had. I'm always on the lookout for a "mom n pop" coffee place. This little drive thru was just that! I appreciate that they have a few milk alternatives-coconut, almond, soy milks for my chai tea latte. My chai was good. Nothing spectacular. They give you a chocolate covered espresso bean with each drink which I thought was a nice touch. I'd go thru there again. My 96 year old friend I traveled from assisted living residence over a mile away on our mobility scooter and wheelchair. I ordered iced coffee which was very good. My friend ordered a smoothie with blackberries and lemonade. After tasting same it was to tart for his taste buds to handle I took it back to window and requested a different drink. No mention that there would be an additional charge of 4.50 to replace the drink. If I had known of the additional charge I would have gone to starbucks. Fan fan fan! I'm a fan! They make great coffee, have an endless menu (my favorites are the Snowy Mt. Ashland, Human Bean Supreme and the Mexican Mocha), are total sweethearts, and always give you a chocolate-covered espresso bean on top of your cup! Plus, you get all this while still sitting in your car, which is great on freezing winter mornings. I prefer this place to any other drive-thru espresso place in the general vicinity. I was a little nervous to come here last week when we passed through Medford while en route during our camping trip to Crater Lake..."Human Bean? That's a weird name for a coffee place..." BUT, because the line at Dutch Bros. nearby was off the hook, we ended up here instead and were delighted. I usually drink black Americanos, but since I was on vacay, I splurged and had a Mexi Mocha instead...YUM! Frothy dairy, a pinch of cinnamon, and melty chocolate. Our server at the walk-up window was nice, pleasantly chatty even at 7 AM after sleeping in an RV the night before, and efficient. My BF and I even got a cute little white chocolate speckled egg with each of our drinks - random, but good! I'm sure it's their signature, but Human Bean was a nice departure from the usual Starbucks or Peet's that we have in California. read more

I go here very early in the morning and it's usually the same woman working - I believe her name is Sierra? She is always very friendly, fast, and she makes the best drinks I've had at any coffee shop in Medford. I loved the service here and the fact that they had so many iced tea options. You can get a black or green iced tea with any flavoring you want. I got a 20 oz peach green iced tea and it was amazing. One of the best soy lattes I've ever had. This was my first time at the Human Bean and in my opinion, the coffee is better than Dutch Bros and other coffee chains. The espresso was very smooth and tasted delicious paired with soymilk- no sweetener needed! The barista was very friendly and had no problem striking up friendly conversation.
