ROOTED Eat More Plants is a 100 percent vegan dream and honestly such a clutch freeway stop while road tripping. The menu is huge... paninis, wraps, burritos, salads, bowls, juices, teas, desserts, even breakfast. Everything came out quick, super fresh, and actually satisfying not just "healthy." The staff was wonderful... high energy, helpful, and the space was really clean. The cashier even came by to check on us which felt above and beyond for a casual spot. Easy 10 out of 10, would absolutely pull off the freeway for this again. Only ask... a little picture menu for indecisive newbies like me would save lives. read more

So lucky to find this place on our route from Portland to LA! Perfect stopping point on that torturous 10+hr drive. And to find a place wish so many vegan options (mostly vegan!) was like an oasis. The daily/monthly specials never disappoint. The food is consistently good and the service has always been great :) Clean eats and always flavorful. Complaint: Their website is out-of-date for both pricing and specials. I was very disappointed that they would not honor the $15 special (2-4pm) that they have advertised on the front of their website. The person just said, "yeah, that's from last summer. I've been meaning to take it down". That is the definition of fraudulent advertising with the 'ol bait & switch. Really good food with really nice flavor. They didn't skimp out on portions at all and the best part was that all the nachos had enough toppings. Discovered this plant based gem last yearwhile on a road trip, scouring Happy Cow and Yelp for a substantial and healthy dining option. Were so impressed that we stopped on our way back. Now we plan our road trips to make sure we pass by Medford when Rooted is open. Only thing I would change is to open earlier for breakfast! Both locations are in strip malls and the south location can be easy to overlook - it's next door to artisan bakery. Inside it's mellow with raw edged wood tables and chill music. Bathrooms are clean and functional. All the employees we have interacted with have been super friendly and helpful, the drinks come out fast and the food is ready relatively quick. Not "fast" food but not slow either. Latest stop we split a special Kimcheezy Panini which was tangy and melty. Side of guac which was delicious and fresh. Also split a Sweet Pea as burrito which was enormous, had to take half to go. It was, as the name and presence of pineapple indicates, quite sweet. Sweeter than expected even! I got a hot matcha latte which tasted like autumn - reminiscent of liquid pumpkin pie, with a twist. The mango madness special smoothie was very sweet and had a faint grittiness from the protein powder but that is to be expected. We enjoyed the heck out of it. Medfordians, y'all are so fortunate to have two locations of Rooted! I look forward to road trips and working our way through the menu. read more

I had the Thai bowl and it was hearty, warm and delicious. I also tasted my friend's kimchi bowl and it was fresh tasting and very good in a different way. Been here a few times and love it. So far I've had the forager bowl which is my fave, the sweet pea bowl and the lemon berry smoothie. All 10/10. I haven't dined in but it looks like a cute little place for a quick bite. Any of the bowls can be made into burrito and they have gluten friendly options. I love a good tofu scramble so the forager bowl is just sooo good to me. I add avocado and if makes the perfect breakfast any time of day. Also good portion so it's enough for two servings. The sweet pea bowl was also very good, even good cold. While I'm not vegan I try to eat a little healthier and so it's great having this plant based restaurant with a good size menu and good pricing. My son and I went to Rooted for the first time. It was SO good! My son had the kids menu (great options) nachos and kombucha. He is a very picky eater and LOVED his dinner. I had the chickpea melt and the vegetable rice soup with a Matcha latte. The panini melt was perfection, I started eating my soup but my son ate it all and the matcha latte made with oat milk, maple syrup and cinnamon was so smooth and comforting. (They have a wheat-free and corn-free tortilla wrap I can eat - costs extra.) You can also bring friends who are standard eaters and they'll enjoy it too. Fresh and handmade. I can't eat here too often, though, as the cost is too high for my budget. I added the fabulous little dessert cookie once ($5) and that really jacked up the bill. My boyfriend had the Thai veggie wrap both days and he enjoyed that as well! The side options are great! Chips and guacamole, hummus and veggies, or fresh fruit. This feels like comforting, nourishing, healthy, and delicious food. We had a peanut butter and chocolate cupcake for dessert the first day - SO rich, YUM! I had scoured their menu in advance & was ready to ask if it was too early in the morning for nachos. Of course the special for the day would be the most delicious breakfast burrito I've ever had. Over a pound of scrambled tofu, potato hash, black beans, salsa, queso, & guac smothered in delicious vegan enchilada sauce. (It took me 3 hours to eat the entire thing by myself ha!) The service was amazing. We had a great conversation about our favorite local small businesses like travelers ice cream & bright star bakery.
