The Buddha bowl was excellent and service was friendly! Presentation and quality of food tops.

The daily/monthly specials never disappoint. The food is consistently good and the service has always been great :) Clean eats and always flavorful. Complaint: Their website is out-of-date for both pricing and specials. I was very disappointed that they would not honor the $15 special (2-4pm) that they have advertised on the front of their website. The person just said, "yeah, that's from last summer. I've been meaning to take it down". That is the definition of fraudulent advertising with the 'ol bait & switch. I hate this for them because they are otherwise excellent. *There's a 2.5% processing fee if you use a debit/credit card.

    ROOTED NACHOS

Really good food with really nice flavor. They didn't skimp out on portions at all and the best part was that all the nachos had enough toppings. Dessert (not pictured) was also great and the coffee was exactly needed ahead of the hike. They forgot our coffee originally but the staff were still super friendly.

    Kimcheezy panini with guacamole

Discovered this plant based gem last yearwhile on a road trip, scouring Happy Cow and Yelp for a substantial and healthy dining option. Were so impressed that we stopped on our way back. Now we plan our road trips to make sure we pass by Medford when Rooted is open. Only thing I would change is to open earlier for breakfast! Both locations are in strip malls and the south location can be easy to overlook - it's next door to artisan bakery. Inside it's mellow with raw edged wood tables and chill music. Bathrooms are clean and functional. All the employees we have interacted with have been super friendly and helpful, the drinks come out fast and the food is ready relatively quick. Not "fast" food but not slow either. Latest stop we split a special Kimcheezy Panini which was tangy and melty. Side of guac which was delicious and fresh. Also split a Sweet Pea as burrito which was enormous, had to take half to go. It was, as the name and presence of pineapple indicates, quite sweet. Sweeter than expected even! I got a hot matcha latte which tasted like autumn - reminiscent of liquid pumpkin pie, with a twist. The mango madness special smoothie was very sweet and had a faint grittiness from the protein powder but that is to be expected. We enjoyed the heck out of it. Medfordians, y'all are so fortunate to have two locations of Rooted! I look forward to road trips and working our way through the menu.

I had the kimchi bowl. Outstanding flavor and incredibly fresh. I don't normally eat vegan but this was truly delicious!

Black bean scramble for the win. Good people and good drink selection too. I'll be back.

Delicious black bean bowl! I love the way the tofu was seasoned. I also had a a small molasses cookie. The place is clean and cool looking. The staff were nice. You order at the counter and they bring you your selections to your table. I would come back for lunch. This is not a fancy place but it was good casual lunch spot.

    "Asian" style burrito

We enjoyed the great customer service and excellent food at Rooted. We went twice and I had, both times, a pesto panini with mushrooms and a salad. My partner had a burrito with black beans, salsa, tofu scramble, potatoes the first time, and the second time a peanut butter and banana smoothie with a burrito made with peanuts, cabbage, pepper, broccoli, jalapeno, carrots, chickpeas, Thai peanut sauce. YUM!!!!

Super friendly service. The curry soup of the day was so delicious. I will be coming back every time I'm in Medford :) so many things I want to try. Comfy ambiance too.

The buddha bowl is very good but more food than I could eat. Small cafe with limited seating as very small napkins.

In a dining landscape often cluttered with performative fussiness, Cocorico on North Ist Street…read moreoffers a welcome recalibration. Chef Nat Borsi's modern Mediterranean haven is a testament to substance over style, a place where "farm-to-table" isn't a marketing slogan but a palpable ethos. The menu, which deftly avoids the trap of being overextended, delivers singular triumphs. The Mushroom Bolognese is a masterclass in vegetarian depth, a richly savory ragout that satisfies on a primal level. The house-made pastas shine; the Lamb Bucatini offers meaty, soulful complexity, while the Seafood Pasta is a testament to the pristine ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. For the carnivore, the Roasted Chicken is a beautifully simple, perfectly executed dish that speaks to the kitchen's bedrock technique. With service that is as warm as the intimate, welcoming ambiance, Cocorico is not just a meal-it's a cornerstone of the Ashland dining experience.

Our table was in their patio space, which I actually like better than the indoor part of the restaurant. The patio space feels very open and has a lot of live plants in the planters that make space between tables. It was a little warm on the patio since it was 98 degrees outside, but they keep it relatively cool on this mostly enclosed patio. Our server was great. She was so friendly and fun to talk to. She helped us figure out what we wanted to order and checked in on us just the right amount. You can tell the food here is very fresh and homemade. We started with the Deviled Eggs, which are really special. I love how they serve them over a bed of crushed up potato chips as they give this dish some salty crunch. Next we had the Beet salad, which is marinated beets over a whipped cheese. The beets do have a strong vinegar flavor, but it's balanced out beautifully by the cheese. My wife ordered the Mushroom Bolognese, which was probably the best dish of the evening. This is an incredible, vegetarian dish that is so meaty without any meat. The finely diced mushroom sauce is so good along with the handmade noodles. Also, adding burrata to it gives it a perfect creaminess. I ordered the pork chop, which was also excellent and enormous. It did take me a lot longer to eat since it was a little hard to cut, the compote on top added a great sweetness, but I feel like it could've used more. Also, the polenta and grilled asparagus was awesome. Lastly, we got the Rice Pudding for dessert. It comes with a hazelnut crumble and a dolce de leche sauce. Normally, I feel like rice pudding has a kind of thin, milky consistency, but not this. It is think and has a wonderful texture. It is probably the best rice pudding I've ever had. The nuts give a satisfying crunch and the dolce de leche sauce is light and sweet. Disclaimer: we did order one dish we really didn't like. It was a special salad with endives and lentils. The server was happy to get us another dish.
