My favorite coffee place of all time. I don't typically go to this location, but they're all pretty much the same based on service and the way they make the drinks. Human Bean started making boba drinks. They are horrible - probably using heavy corn syrup or worse, some bio-engineered sugar product as their flavoring source. The boba is fake or the popping version, which is never used in legit boba stores. We need a true Taiwanese Boba establishment to come to the Treasure Valley & serve up the real thing! I hate to leave a bad review for a company I like but this location can't seem to get it right. We've been to this location four times and it was disappointing each time. I think it has a lot to do with staffing and I know everyone is struggling with that right now so I went with two stars instead of one. My first complaint is the wait. I would suggest if you see more than one car in line just save yourself thirty minutes and go down the road to one of the other coffee shops nearby, there's literally four other shops on the same road within about a mile. Second, every time - no matter who helps - the service is bad. I mean the customer service is pretty non existent. I always have to wait to be greeted at this location because it seems that chatting with a coworker is more important than helping customers. So at my most recent visit I tried to order one drink and the girl didn't know what I was talking about. So I asked a couple questions and she didn't really seem to know much and would turn around and ask a guy if he knew the answers so I assumed she was new. No biggie, everyone starts somewhere but it was frustrating. I finally get a drink ordered then I ask what kind of snacks they have today. She looked confused so I said something like 'any food or brownies or muffins??' I've noticed that THB in different states will offer different food items and that's why I asked. She turns around again and asks the other kid and tells me two items. I look and point at the basket outside the window and I say "what's that one?" She turns around to ask the kid again. I ask how much an item is and she asks her coworker again and I'm so irritated at this point I just say it's fine I'll take it and also the other one she mentioned. I then ask if she takes Apple Pay and I can't remember what her first response was but I think she said 'what's that?' or 'umm, I don't know'. Then, you guessed it, she turned around and asked the other kid. In case you're wondering... they do take Apple Pay! So we finally leave and start to eat the desserts and they were so hard and dry that we just threw them away. So to sum it up I spent $15 for one drink and a new appreciation for the lady at the Target Starbucks that knows my name and all my kids' names. -- Thank you for your reply, June. I came by today to collect my free birthday drink but, because of the app change, my birthday reward was unavailable. I explained the situation briefly to Kelsey and she immediately said she would take care of me, no questions asked. I offered to show her my ID and she declined. She helped me figure out what drink I wanted to get and was so incredibly kind and helpful. When I tried to leave a tip, she refused to take any money from me. This has got to be the single most positive experience I have ever had at a coffee place! I am so impressed and so grateful for the interaction! read more

Horrible customer service. I waited in line for over 20 minutes. I understand that sometimes places get busy as I have worked in the service industry for over 10 years, however, when I got to the window, the two baristas that were working didn't even acknowledge that I was there until she asked me if I wanted to leave a tip for them. The coffee was burnt and the milk tastes old Human Bean needs to train their employees in basic customer service skills, until then, I will stick to Espressoly Yours across the street. read more

Tried this place for the first time and it was horrible. Waited in line for 30 minutes. I ordered a London Fog and it was nasty and taste-less. I felt like I was drinking hot water with milk. The tea bag wasn't even inside my cup! Never coming back here again. Much better coffee shops out there. read more

Honestly I've been every Human Bean in the Treasure Valley and they are all delightful. The one on Caldwell Blvd. is the one I personally treasure the most. Sense they opened I have gone there just about everyday. The ease of location makes for a quick grab and go coffee for getting on or off the freeway. I can't help but to stop by everyday and get a coffee while spending some time with the lovely baristas. They always greet me with a smile and I have come to make friends with all of them! I highly recommend the java chip with caramel, a snowy mocha with real caramel or a classic iced amercano! These baristas pay special attention to your drink every time and they make sure you are satisfied before you drive away and let me say I am impressed! They begin to know your name and you begin to know theirs. Every time I've come it's always been a very personal experience. I can feel the "real ness" of it. No fake small talk with these girls. If you aren't sure of what to get they will always help you. Sometimes when I get an itching for something new I get the daily special and they are always delicious blended!!! When I feel like cheating on my diet I always will swing by and grab a raspberry white chocolate scone, a brookie or a bag o beans. They truly taste like they were baked fresh that day! The scone has sugar sprinkled on top and it's a great crunchy additive to the soft scone. The brookie is every girls dream! A chocolate chip cookie and a brownie combined! How can I pass that up? Well I can't. And sometimes one chocolate covered espresso bean with your drink just isn't enough and you have to buy more! All in all The Human Bean is a place I find myself just about every day. This is the worst human bean location in the valley. I went there for the first time today and the barista made the wrong drink twice for my wife. We didn't bother getting the second drink replaced, it went in the trash and we got a new drink at Dutch bros down the road. Tried to call the location over twenty times about the issue and no one answered except for on the last call and the line was static like and the person said hello and hung up when I asked for the manager.
