Stopped here on a holiday as it was one of the few places open and looked super cute! I needed a little coffee pick me up before a flight and this looked like a fun place to visit. The decor is really beautiful and has a lot of seating. I even loved that there was a couch outside. I ordered a bagel and a seasonal latte. I really enjoyed my bagel. Unfortunately, the lemon latte wasn't really for me, but I'm still glad I tried it! I am a frequent customer of the state Boise location, but this is my first visit to the overland location. This location is considerably smaller than the state location, not to mention, hidden away in the center. It still has a homey vibe with leather couches, rustic tables and a beautiful wooden bar top area. There were two employees hustling the best they could with a consistent steady line of customers. With this location being smaller, it does get a little cluttered at the ordering register. Unfortunately, my favorite bagel egg sandwich was not available as they were out of egg patties by 11am. At least the Asiago bagels were available and I bumped it up with herb cream cheese. Also got an iced Mexican mocha. Food and drinks did take a while longer to come out, understandably so. I will say that the Mexican mocha was incredibly well balanced and flavorful...much better than the state location. The bagel was toasted, but the outside was a little burnt. The smear of cream cheese was a lot...so much so, that I had to get a knife and take over half of it off (note to self: easy cream cheese or on the side when ordering). Seating outside was nice but the patio was small. Tough to seat 4 people inside when 2 people take the only 4-seater table to work. read more

These stars are only for how sweet the girls working here are. Compared to the original location, this one is night and day difference, and I mean that in a terrible way. Caffeina on State has been a staple for me since I moved here to the treasure valley. Upon moving to the bench, I was so stoked to be so close to one of their locations!!! Until I realized how underwhelming this one is in comparison. Can't tell you how many times I've gotta wait at the menu outside for multiple minutes with no one else in line before being noticed. Then, it never takes less than 8 minutes for my single drink. And it never tastes the same, literally ever. And now, after being on bed rest for the last 4 days, wanted to treat myself to a peppermint mocha. But nope, as usual, this caffeina is a letdown. No peppermint until December. The girls working here are super nice and such a delight any time I come in but that's literally the only redeeming quality of this location. Not sure I'll go back now because it's just letdown after letdown with this location. It's equidistant to push and pour for me and while Caffeina on State does a better mocha than P&P, I can't ever expect that quality or consistency from this location. After picking up a friend from the airport, we needed to chill for a bit so found this cute coffee shop and decided to come in and order some drinks while waiting. It is a long, narrow spot with some outside, seating and plenty of different types of indoor seating, as well as lots of chairs along the bar. I needed to plug in my phone to do some research so we sat at the comfy, plush chairs along the bar where there were plenty of outlets. We saw several people sitting with computers, but the vibe was pretty casual, and very fun with light music playing. Definitely looks like a local hang out. My friends got some cold frappe's and enjoyed them thoroughly . The menu is pretty extensive and they also have alternative milks and can adjust some of the other items as necessary. They have quite a few food choices as well and they looked really tasty! I got a mango smoothie which had some ginger and a couple other things and they were able to adjust it and use water instead of yogurt for me. It was a nice size plus really smooth and filling, perfect for a hot summer day! We would definitely go back if we were in the area and can highly recommend checking this place out . read more

I discovered caffeine a few years ago when I was in a hurry, but wanted a quick cup of coffee. Never go into a coffee shop with comfortable cushions and talkative patrons if you need a quick cup of coffee! Here It won't be a quick cup of coffee. I would give them one star, but their staff was so kind and the coffee was so good plus their veggie quiche that I wanted to stay away from as I am trying to lose weight but it was so delicious. It lured me in like a siren calling me into the ocean. So I was inclined to instead give them five stars, even though I did not leave quickly like I had wanted, and I ended up talking to a couple of customers, though I wanted to be left alone; the conversation was so dang engaging! to start, it took SO long to order. there was only two people in front of us. it then took SO long to receive our order which consisted of a pour over coffee, matcha, smoothie, and a quiche. over 30 minutes and they were not busy or anything! then, we had asked for a hot, pour over coffee but received an iced one. What a great addition to the bench. Located just a hop, hop, and a shuffle step from my house this is my home base coffee shop. An exceptional setup for those coffee dates with either your computer or a person. Plush couches perched in the corner or a long community table with outlets to post up. There is also a "bar" top if you are a bellier to the bar-er-er. If you need a quick pick-up coffee, you can also use the drive-thru. (Small patio for the warmer months.) Maybe you aren't in the mood for coffee, order a beer or a wine. Not much more to say about this great place. The owners have made this a cozy, excellent location. This is a very cute little spot. I loved seeing all the plants. There was only one worker but he was very kind when taking our order. I only got one of the smoothies: Zen Blend Smoothie. Honestly, not the best smoothie. I could taste that the fruit was low quality and frozen and it was way too sweet. I had a weird powder-y coating in my mouth while drinking the smoothie. Disappointed in this place, I've been once and thought the coffee shop was cute went again, there were maybe 2 customers sitting in the shop I was awkwardly looking at the menu with the barista just staring at me. I had only been there once so wasn't sure what I wanted there was no hello or welcome just awkward staring at me like I am inconveniencing them. I put my order in than when I asked for half the syrup the barista rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed I made a request. She clearly didn't want to be there helping customers. They ran out of whip cream okay no big deal, but when I asked for a different lid again the barista was annoyed and rude by the request and threw the lid at me. We chose this place for convenience and clearly taking the time to go somewhere we are familiar with would have been worth the loss of time. This was disappointing. The place itself was cute and I liked the decor, they did well with this aspect. The baristas seemed okay. On the other hand, we ordered one 20oz iced vanilla latte with almond milk and one 20oz caramel frappe with almond milk. And I must say, coming from the coffee capital of the US, these are probably the worst drinks I have ever received. Firstly, we received a 16oz latte instead of 20oz and a 24oz caramel frappe instead of 20oz. Now, if they can't make something in a size, communication would be helpful. Secondly, the taste of these coffees are extremely burnt. I didn't read other reviews until after I tried one of the drinks and the lower ones are on par with this one. Lastly, the latte and the frappe lacked significantly in sweetness almost to the point to which it tastes like that didn't put anything in. I would've been okay with this if the beans weren't burnt to the crisp. Overall, I am not from here, but I certainly will never go back. The entire experience was disappointing and underwhelming. Do not go here if you know what coffee should taste like. read more

Caffeina doesn't care. Caffeina welcomes all with good coffee, attentive service and the kind of decor that doesn't make you wonder if you should go out and buy a MacBook Pro and put on a slouchy beanie before stepping foot in the joint. Still, if you already have those things, you're welcome in this coffee house. What I like: good, strong brew. I've had americanos and drip coffee here. I take it black. Leaving it unadulterated means I can really get the taste and the stuff here is quality. What else I like: the interior decor. It's richly colorful, plants abound, and they have a velvet couch. I'm so happy the owners didn't go with the dying industrial modern design trend. The look of this place will last. And it looks good. Go here. Get coffee. Or check out there State St. digs. It's bigger, with the same warm, inviting feel. Tell folks you know about the Overland site since it's tucked away behind a 24 hour fitness joint. I came by here a couple days ago and waited in the drive thru for 35 minutes (I wish I was exaggerating) just so get a bowl without sour cream b/c they were out and my drink order was messed up. I went inside to get my drink fixed and they did. TODAY I come to the drive thru and order the SAME drink. Now they are telling me that they are not allowed to make that drink, nor will they make that drink for me. And then the drive thru lady insinuated that her coworker was not doing the right thing by making my drink the last time I was here. NEVER will I visit this store again. I've been studying here for most weekends mornings for the last few months or so. Coffee is great, pour over is really amazing. Sampled a couple things on the menu, foods all really above par especially for a coffee shop. Staff is always really nice and helpful, I've taken a leap of faith with a drink recommendation before and wasn't let down, it was pretty good. Most of all I've seen the staff handle some pretty terrible customers, and still rebound for the next person to make sure the experience is stellar, and that's not easy to do. Definitely will be back the next time I have to read a really boring book for something again. read more

This was a great find in Boise! The shop was really cute and clean, the coffee was delicious (I'm guessing they roast in house by how fresh it was), and the breakfast bowl I had was delicious.
