Thank you, Bailey, for the best wishes.

I saw that this coffee shop had a lot of stars so decided to check it out on my drive across Idaho. Bailey was a fantastic hostess as was my barista. I appreciated that Bailey took a moment to get to know me and even wrote me a nice message on my to-go cup. I left with a delicious frappe and happy feeling.

Lovely coffee spot with a few food options as well! I ordered the matcha latte with oat and it was very good! The matcha didn't settle to the bottom so that's good! Didn't get to try their food options but it all sounds good!

Ordered a strawberry banana chia smoothie, hibiscus berry tea, banana bread, and two bagel sandwiches. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bagel was to die for. The ambience is very calm and there are plenty of places to sit. Will definitely return.

5 star on the banana bread, it was moist and yummy! Atmosphere was welcoming and very vibey! Let's talk coffee - ugh! The beans were burnt the taste was off putting, I could tell by the color it wasn't going to be good. Very disappointed as I have heard wonderful things.Unexpectedly expensive. If you like burnt taste and swamp water - go for it. Hard pass for me.

    Latte with honey and cinnamon

Great Coffee! After 6 hours of traveling I was quite exhausted and in need of some caffeine. Stopped in Boise at Caffeina and was pleasantly surprised by their delicious honey and cinnamon latte. Only giving 4 stars because my friend's smoothie did not have spinach, not the baristas fault by any means, but.

Their matcha is the best I've had in a coffee shop and isn't overly sweetened like most places.

What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. I have also had great experiences at their other locations. Boise is lucky to have them.

But, I really wanted to comment about how great the staff has been. After recently getting my new kidney, I have to be so careful about germs. And unfortunately, I can't use the straws and lids that they have out for everyone. I have asked if they can kindly put a lid and straw in for me after they make my drink and a majority of the staff has! I have had a few not so friendly stares when I asked but the majority of the staff have been so kind. I appreciate the extra step and the longevity of my new kidney does too. A small gesture like this goes a long ways and I am so grateful to those who have helped me out.

I love their downtown location. It's right across the street from the salon I work at. The scene is so chill and they push out great drinks. I assumed that this joint would be the same. I love this little drive thru joint. It's so cute and dainty. Pulled up to the window and was greeted by the sweetest smile. She gave me a minute to go over the drink options. They have a big QR code right when you pull up so you can check out their menu. They also have a huge menu at the window as well. I always get the same 3 drinks so I went with my small iced americano with sugar free vanilla with room for cream. I can hear my drink being worked on while I waited. The grinding the the beans. The mixing of my espresso and cream back and forth from each cup. That's one thing I appreciate about this joint, they took the time to mix my ingredients all together. My drink was the perfect shade of brown. Taking that first sip, it was balanced in cream, espresso and sweetness. I pulled around and noticed on the other side of the stand was a couple tables to chill at. I parked and hung outside for a bit. I adore the little set up they have! The fake grass, the strung upped lights and the cool van. It's a cool set up even if it's the one middle of the parking lot. What a creative way to add some seating to the spot. District Coffee pushes out great coffee, especially their chai. Some of the best chai in town! It's good to know they have this stand here on this end of town. It's conveniently off Overland with easy access in and out. I enjoyed my visit here today and I look forward to my next caffeinated beverage the next time I'm in this area.

Quick take: Yes, decent espresso…read more Coffee Snob Version: First some background to be fair. I buy and roast my own beans and tried beans from all over the world. I have an Excel file full of roasting profiles per bean with what worked and what was less good. I tend to like African and Asian beans. I have use the same Breville machine for 15 years, drink espresso and espresso based drinks exclusively. Yes I would consider myself a coffee snob. I live around the corner from here and have meant to come try them for a while. I was sick a few weeks ago so missed two roasting Fridays, I roasts every Friday and ran out of my own beans. As you know if you are reading the Coffee Snob version, Sbux disappoints, so hey... perfect opportunity to try here! What to try... curious to know about their beans, I ordered a Dopio and an Americano. The Dopio lets me experience just the bean, the Americano what it tastes like dilluted, the flavor can change a bit. The Americano also tells me how much water they add. I tend to make mine with equal parents espresso and water, there is an actual name for this that eludes me at the moment. What was odd was that as they pulled the double espresso shot, there was an unusual volume of crema on top, I actually saw the Barista dump some of the crema off before pouring the remainder in my cup. This is caused by a few things but beans that are too recently roasted is a primary cause. Freshly roasted means usually need at least a week to off as the carbon dioxide in the beans. All that crema was likely CO2 relates, so if anything would have made the shot undrinkablly bitter... And the Barista seemed to know this! I have had beans that needed a month to stabilize. One day it's sharp and bitter, as if by magic, the flavor has changed entyrly and is wonderful! The flavor of the Dopio would tend to support this as it was on the sharp side. That sharpness came through in the Americano which was full to the brim. The fix is simple, I add a small amount of whipped cream and swirl it in. When I get a less than ideal roast at home, this is the fix. I'm certain milk based drinks, cappuccino, breve, etc would overcome this easily. Will I go back, if I am out of beans, definitely, but now I know to add a bit of whipped cream!
