I found Vlad after stumbling upon this procedure on a message board online. After suffering with neck/shoulder problems and severe TMJ, I was at the end of my rope. I decided 2019 was going to be the year I figured this out once and for all. I had uneven shoulders and my neck tilted off to one side. My jaw clicked every time I chewed and the muscles in my head and neck were so tense I couldn't stand it. Before coming here, I had been doing hours of corrective exercises,I had been seeing a chiropractor, a specialist in Active Release Technique, and I had gotten botox shots in my jaw to try to alleviate the discomfort. Before I did this procedure, my neck would constantly ache and my head would be very heavy. It sounds funny, but I that is exactly how it felt. At times I would have to stop what I was doing, look down and just rest my neck as long as possible. This would give me a relief for a short amount of time, but it would always start back up again. It's been about 2 weeks since my first visit with Vladimir. Happy to report the headaches, neck pain, occipital pain are GONE after 1 treatment. My husband, son and I went to see Vlad initially about three months ago. My son and I are long-time chiropractic users. We read as much as we could about this axis treatment and were a little bit hesitant, but excited nevertheless. Before I came to Atlasprofilax and saw Vlad I was relying heavily on kratom/muscle relaxers to ease my neck pain it was horrible spasming pain almost half the week. I've probably spent more than $10k on chiropractors supplements and other treatments and nothing worked and if it did was relief for a day at the most. Vladimir has strong, quick hands that can stretch and manipulate the muscles giving fast relief from physical pain and stress. Right after I had the AtlasPROfilax done, it made me lose my balance when I laughed and my head went back a little probably because I was always overcompensating for my muscles holding my neck being out of alignment. Since having had the treatment, I realized recently that I haven't had to go to the chiropractor hardly as often. Some people can be healed with one session, but not everyone which makes sense due to different traumas, ages, occupations, etc. I do think it's helpful and if you're in a lot of pain, it's worth it to give it a try for some relief. It shares a location in a wellness center (Oasis?) with other types of practitioners as well. I haven't tried out any of the other massage therapists or acupuncturists there though. The appointments don't usually last that long. Some people might think it's a little painful because it is sort of an intense drill bit that fatigues your muscles right under the occipital bone of your skull, but it's quick and my philosophy is "no pain, no gain." But I really didn't think it was very painful, more like a quick deep tissue right in that area of the base of your skull. This place has changed my life. And I don't say that lightly. I've had neck and back issues since my early teens, and have found some wonderful doctors along the way who have brought me to health. One outstanding problem I've had, though, is a propensity for chronic migraines. I get them at least 3 or 4 times a week, which makes normal life... difficult. I knew it was something to do with my neck, and my doctor told me I had a problem with the Atlas (the very top vertebra that cradles the skull and houses the top of the spinal cord). But he said it's incredibly difficult to adjust the Atlas because of its location (it's hidden up under the base of the skull). After a ton of research, I came across this modality, and I can't recommend it more. In a nutshell... The idea behind Atlasprofilax is that the Atlas, like a piece in a jigsaw puzzle, WANTS to sit in its proper position. However, for one reason or another (a hard fall, an accident, someone pulling or twisting too hard during natural birth - yes, really) the Atlas gets out of alignment. And then the muscles and the fascia build up around it, trying to protect it, but essentially getting in the way of it moving back into its happy place. The more out of alignment you are, and the more pain you have, the more the muscles respond by tightening up and wreaking more havoc. What Atlasprofilax does is basically beat the crap out of your neck muscles until they give up, relax, and the Atlas can slip back into place. :) The whole thing takes less than 5 minutes. After a consultation where you and the practitioner analyze your posture and balance, they get out a little machine that looks like a miniature jackhammer with a rubber tip. Then they "massage" each side of your neck for a minute or a two (yes, it's painful, but it's over before you can really complain too much). And that's it! I needed to lie down for a few minutes afterward, just to let my body process the shock of it all. But I could feel an immediate difference. My posture was straighter. Also, the headache I'd walked into the office with began to subside. That was a month ago. Several weeks of sitting at an office desk and two trans-continental flights later, and I'm still migraine-free. This is huge for me. I can carry a purse on my shoulder now, or a couple of bags of groceries, without feeling like my head will fall off. Most impressively, this is a one-time treatment, and it's extremely affordable. Last summer, I had my first Atlasprofilax experience abroad by a different professional, which served its purpose at the time. I've developed chronic lower back pain for 5-6 months starting around March of this year, however, and I decided to try Atlasprofilax once more to see if perhaps it could (at least partially) solve or alleviate my current health issues. I contacted Vladimir, explained my situation/previous experience, and coordinated an appointment for the beginning of September to see if he thought I would need the procedure again and if he can help me. The location is easy to find and serene with plenty of street (metered) parking. He greeted me personally, and after an initial assessment decided to do the procedure, followed by a quick adjustment and brief minute-long massage to soothe my back. The procedure itself is very short and yes, it does hurt a bit, but it's so brief that it does not become too painful at any time. He stops/moves the instrument just as it would get too painful (at least in my experience). Would I want to get this done every day? No, but then again, this is supposed to be a one-time experience with a potential follow-up visit, IF and when needed. In my case, it was needed, and though the initial experience was with a different professional, Vladimir graciously did not charge me. (Follow-ups are supposed to be of no charge, as a guarantee.) It was a pleasant surprise, however, that he honored the other professional's work and extended this kindness to me. Initially, I didn't feel much improvement, though after about an hour I started feeling very grounded and at peace (not sure if it's relevant, but it felt great!). I'm so grateful for having found my way to Vladimir and the Atlas Profilax process!! It has truly been a blessing. I suffered a bad car accident 9 years ago, that resulted in my atlas being badly misaligned.
