We had the hamburger steak, baked beans, Cole slaw, salad, fries, chicken tenders and hamburger. All were delicious and very generous servings. The shop was very cute and had plenty of homemade goodies. This is definitely a spot we will visit when we drive cross country again! For those with food allergies: I didn't ask about frying foods so my son with seafood allergies didn't have their fries. They do have fried shrimp and some other seafood items and my son didn't want to risk it or make it a big deal. A lot of their snacks in the shop did have nuts. I also didn't ask about a military discount because I was happy to support this Christian America loving small business.

The livers were a little over cooked slaw and bbq beans were good, not much on her corn bread as it was dry tasting. I had the fried chicken (breast and wing) bbq beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a jalapeños corn bread muffin. The chicken was over cooked (all it was missing was a belt buckle). Wasn't impressed with my jalapeños corn muffin dried, bbq beans were good with lots of flavor the mashed potatoes could've used a little more gravy. This is self serve you ordered picked it up, got your own utensils and drinks. This a cute country store and restaurant with a garden center. The dining areas they had to patios o e enclosed the other open both had ceiling fans. Lots of seating but evidently they clean the tables tops you're going to eat at. Needless to say this wasn't the experience we were expecting not sure if we'd return to dine there again

It is only open for lunch from 11-2pm Tuesday through Saturday. We made sure we got in line a few minutes before 11am. Yes a line, so get there early. The doors opened right at 11am and you order from the counter and have a seat. The staff is welcoming and assist with the line and seating to have everything move smoothly. The prices were not bad at all and we got alot of food. The fried chicken is out of this world. A must get. You won't regret it. It is so flavorful with crispy skin, yet moist chicken. Also, it is not super greasy which was my favorite part. I enjoyed the green beans and corn on the cob. The jalapeño corn bread was amazing! My mom got the black eyed peas, mac n cheese, and regular cornbread with her fried chicken. She raved about the black eyes peas. We also ordered banana pudding and Mrs. Pearl's Cheesecake. The banana pudding was my favorite and a great sweet treat to round out my southern meal. The inside of the diner is not very large but does have plenty of seating inside and some outside. While we did not see Mrs. Pearl, her sister greeted us and was definitely running the diner while we were there.

The mac& cheese was really good. The sweat tea was great. The fried chicken was surprisingly underseasoned. The skin was perfectly cooked (crispy and moist) so the potential was there. Disappointed

Yelp led us to The Loft and thank goodness we got there about 10 minutes before open because there was already a line down the sidewalk. We got in line and were seated right when the doors opened for dinner. I enjoyed the interior of the restaurant. It had a rustic vibe and a man playing the guitar and singing. The music was great but wished he was a little bit louder. The service was good and were in and out within about 1 hour and 15 minutes for dinner. I started with a cocktail - Stormy Laurel. I'm a suckered for any drink with elderflower and it was light and refreshing. The food was delicious! The house side salad was huge and the croutons were so good. I like that they provided plenty of salad dressing. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner with the loaded potato casserole. The shrimp were massive, there were so many, and they were seasoned well and breaded just the right amount. The potato casserole was yummy and had a slight kick which I appreciated. We also ordered the bread pudding for dessert. I liked the white chocolate chips throughout. Come here for a solid meal! I loved the food and atmosphere. I thought there were plenty of options on the menu and everything was priced well.

The fries are good and crisp with a nice flavor while the burgers are nice sized, juicy and flavorful. I've gotten the steak they offer here and I wouldn't do so again and I highly suggest sticking with the burgers. They also have quite a selection of desserts here which are generally good but I've also had one of the worst cheesecakes I've ever had here before too as it seemed it was half cold and half hot and all blah. On my last visit I was also a bit grumpy over the fact they were out of lemons for my iced tea. As this is about the only venue in the area quite a few local characters frequent this establishment. You can definitely observe some interesting folks and hear some local dialect to give you an experience unlike anywhere else but this little corner of rural Mississippi. As long as you stick with the burger and fries you should have a fine experience here and you might even get the pleasure of meeting some really friendly people.

Around lunchtime they serve plate lunches from their special of the day or your choice of menu items. I've been here a couple of times and they really represent country love in their food #soulfood. Traditional cooking is well represented in their bakery items as well. From pies, cheesecake, to cookies, and chess squares, their desserts reminds me of Sunday dinner at Mawmaw's. They will cater too- I haven't used them yet, but will review when I do.

It complemented the Redfish. The only thing that I would improve on would be the grits. They were a little dry. My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza and Ashley recommended the pepper jelly with it. The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!
