This is a relatively new establishment that seems to still be getting into their groove. The space inside an old hotel gives the space a nice ambiance. The burgers are good here and have a nice juicy delicious flavor for the beef patties along with a nice bun. Their steak bomb sandwiches remind me a bit of a Philly cheesesteak but much better and served on a burger bun. Their seafood gumbo had a decent rue while the seafood was pathetically tiny little things with barely any seafood even in it. They were out of straws, no lemons were available for my iced tea and we had to actually ask for napkins from our server. Overall, the food seems good here while they are obviously having opening operations challenges.

We're so glad we stopped. We are traveling home and stopped for lunch. They had a mix of regular American and Louisiana/Mississippi style foods. Everything was VERY good. It's in a cool building. It used to be a hotel. The servers were very good, attentive, and friendly. We also found a cool variety shop, The Emporium on Ivy, around the corner (don't need to move your car).

The food was very good! Freshly prepared and quality ingredients. The taco salad was great! We also had the fried catfish platter and the waffle chicken tenders. All delicious! Service was great as well. We will be back.

The pimento & cheese appetizer is sooo good. The place is a little hard to find because it's inside the old hotel but it's worth it. The food and the service are excellent.

    Fried Chicken Salad

Service- All of the staff were very welcoming and kind. Food- We ordered the Southwest Rolls. They were absolutely amazing. 10000/10 . Highly recommend. Fried Chicken Salad- The Salad was very filling and was very good as well. I got the ranch to go with it. I am assuming it was homemade ranch which is the best!! 10/10 would recommend if you love a good salad!!

I've had the fried shrimp salad. The best fried shrimp around! Good quality food. Nice setting in an old hotel.

We ate at Mimmo's two nights in a row while visiting family. The first evening was good -- we had…read morethe lasagna and pizza, and both were enjoyable enough that we decided to return the next night. Unfortunately, the second visit was a very different experience. I ordered the chicken piccata, and it was extremely disappointing. The sauce wasn't bright or balanced as you'd expect from a piccata. Instead, it tasted heavy and starchy, almost like thickened chicken broth, with none of the lemony depth or richness the dish should have. It was not enjoyable. It was also my birthday, which made the experience more frustrating. I let our waitress know that the dish wasn't good, but nothing was done to address it. There was no effort to adjust, replace, or even meaningfully respond, which felt dismissive. Additionally, the night before we had been told that gnocchi could be prepared for us the following evening. When we returned, that was no longer the case, and again there didn't seem to be much acknowledgment of the change. The inconsistency between the two nights was surprising. The restaurant is clearly capable of decent food, but the lack of follow-through and service recovery made the second visit disappointing.

Finding Mimmo's in Laurel right now is like searching for lost treasure in a construction zone --…read morethe kind where the street looks like Act I of a tragic opera: "Ode to the Detour." You'll battle cones, dodge machinery, and question your life choices. But when you finally burst through the doors? Bravo! The interior hits you like a grand crescendo -- exposed brick walls, high ceilings, the kind of lighting that makes you feel instantly more attractive. It's pure Tuscan theater. The service deserves a standing ovation -- all charm, smiles, and perfectly timed entrances. But once the food arrived, the orchestra started to lose the rhythm. The garlic rolls, priced at a dramatic $14, made their entrance dripping in butter -- so much butter, in fact, that garlic seems to have drowned somewhere backstage. The rolls glistened like they were auditioning for La Buttera. Soft, rich, and tasty, yes... but garlic? MIA. It's like sending Pavarotti on stage and getting a kazoo solo instead. Then came the pizza, whose crust sang a lovely opening note -- smoky, beautifully charred edges -- but the center was still a little... doughy. A tragic reminder that even great tenors sometimes miss the high note. The lasagna should've been the grand finale -- the full-throated aria of the meal -- but instead, it came out more like the understudy: pleasant, but lacking passion. The meat was flavorful, but the rest felt uncomposed. A little more Parmesan bravado could've saved the day. If Yelp had half stars, I'd give Mimmo's a 3.5, because the atmosphere and service are pure opera -- dramatic, romantic, and memorable. But the food? Still rehearsing. Come for the ambiance, stay for the butter, and hope that next time, the kitchen hits all the right notes. Final act verdict: Mimmo's has the stage presence of a headliner -- now it just needs a little more flavor in its aria.

I used to work at Pizza Hut long ago back in the '90s. Back in those days we had to hand make all…read morethe dough for the thin crust pizzas and we tossed the dough in the air the old fashioned way. Unfortunately I have discovered that now all the pizza get shipped in a pre-made form for the crust and everything is pretty well just plug and play. So the toppings just get dumped on top of a pre-made crust once it is unwrapped from the plastic and then they just throw it in the oven. I just don't find this process to yield the same quality of the crust as it was back in the old days when we did all those old school traditional touches. I was excited to see the tavern pizza which Pizza Hut has been advertising that they were advertising and Indecoded to order one. After I sampled the pizza it had a little bit of a ring of the old school Pizza Hut but that crust just really filled to deliver and lacked a lot of that crispy crunchy goodness that we used to be able to produce with that old hand toss method. So I guess if you're in a spot without many other options and you really need some pizza it's okay but there's just so many better pizza places in most spots around the country these days. After my taste test and discovery of the pre-made crust I'm not going to have Pizza Hut at the top of my list anymore as I can jist go to a grocery store and get a frozen crust pizza. One area that many people are happy about is some Pizza Hut locations like this one still have their lunch buffets which I didn't know they had brought that back so that's also a nice option if you're really hungry and just want more to eat overall. I'm sad to see yet another restaurant lose sight of quality over making everything faster and more convenient just for whatever reasons they think they need for the bottom line. Ultimately I think quality shoukd win out every time over whatever this fast and furious profit motive is they've got with remaking things like they do now which don't live up to their past quality. The choice of lowering quality for short term profits has really hurt and destroyed many other brands that used to be notable.
