I came to the Hummus Shop for a quick lunch before heading to a flight. It's a fairy hidden place, but there's a sign on the street -- you just have to go down the hallway. It's a cozy spot with limited seating. It was my first time here and the person working at the front was very helpful in ordering and walking me through the menu. They have a few main options based on their proteins. I got a pita with the eggplant. It was great!!! They were very flexible in making this vegan by replacing the egg with a couple of falafels. Great food to go and it was delicious as well, the sauces were especially good. It was messy to eat but that's what makes it fun! Would definitely recommend, I hope to be back to try the vegan "chicken" as well. read more

The Hummus Shop is a cute little fast casual restaurant in Beacon Hill. The seating area is small. It seems much of their business is take out. It was convenient for us. We purchased hummus and went to the grocery down the street to purchase veggies and bread. The hummus was tasty. It had the perfect amount of lemon. So happy to find this small tucked away space for a delicious lunch!! I enjoyed their chicky pita which is a chickpea salad with their delicious spicy pickles mixed in. So so good. The server, Collin, was friendly and helpful. The vibe was so welcoming that everyone in the store were talking to one another - so unusual but fun! Only three tables to sit but service was quick and tables turned over so there was a minimal wait. Adorable take home box the size of the pita. Perfect. Highly recommend. A strong 5 stars. read more

I got the schnitzel bowl, which came loaded with schug, toum, hummus, and so much more. Everything was incredibly well done and flavorful. The schnitzel was great and I believe it's made of beans. Most of their menu is gluten-free and they took extra care with keeping GF items separate from the rest (and labeled the bowls that were GF!). Some of the best hummus and falafel we've ever had. I feel bad I didn't get photos but we were so involved in enjoying the awesome flavor combinations, amazing eggplant, vegan chicken, spicy pickles and veggies. We stopped here mid day of exploring Boston as tourists. We're not big breakfast eaters and our coffee and croissant boost was wearing off by about 1pm. BUT we have big dinner plans! We didn't want to fill up on a big lunch plus we planned to keep walking throughout the city. We had the falafel bowl (I wish I had a picture!). 1. it was beautiful to look at, so many colors and textures piled on there; 2. Everything was so fresh and light. The falafel were so light and airy but perfectly crispy. 3. The variety of taste and textures for the pallet was so delicious. It was all light but filling and so satisfying. I almost walked by this little jem and so glad took a step back as this is the best falafel and hummus in Boston. So leave the Public Garden and walk past Starbucks on Charles Street and look up for the sign and walk into this bright space with a Boston Mural on the wall and great food. Even the box that holds your to go falafel is cleverly designed and wow what a taste. read more

What a great little shop for a pita sandwich, a bowl, or just some falafel . REALLY FRESH ingredients, including the most delicious pita bread I've ever tried. The vegan (yes, I said vegan) chicken schnitzel is so delicious, you'd never know it's not chicken. Just a little delight in Beacon Hill. I wish they had a bigger shop! I recently moved to Beacon Hill, and was introduced to this place by one of the employees handing out samples of their felafel on the sidewalk. I tried one, and it was perfectly crunchy and delicious. So I decided to get some lunch the other day and I was entirely blown away. I've never had chicken schnitzel before but it was incredible. The staff is extremely friendly and the cook even came out and handed me my food directly, listing out the items I ordered and the extra spicy pickles they threw in for free. Delicious! Ordered the Fantastic Falafel Hummus Bowl. Very fresh and tasty. The pita comes on the side and is so warm and fluffy. Overall great spot and quick service. I ordered ahead for pickup and it was ready in 10 minutes. There's only 2-3 small tables inside for dining in. read more

I'd give this place 1000 stars if I could, the food was so fresh and delicious! The chicken schnitzel was better than real chicken by a mile- super thin crispy cutlet nestled in a soft pita with tomato cuke pickled cabbage hummus and a delicious green spicy herby sauce!! It was amazing and huge!!! Picture is a little deceiving that pita is deep!! The brussys were a new to the menu (I think) - these little beauties were fried to a crisp in the very best way- outside was crispy but the inside was tender!!! The tahini for dipping was delicious I got the original which was bright and lemony there were 2 other choices an herby and a spicy can't wait to try both!! I'm making this my weekly treat!! I didn't get the falafel today because they sell it at my local market and it's the only falafel we buy but I'm looking forward to having it at the source. The frozen falafel was the inspiration for the walk to the shop :) my husband lives on it!
