    Kings choice

Solid spot in the Boston Common. We had the King combo (beef tagine with yellow rice and pineapple BBQ/white garlicky sauce). The beef was very soft, the mixed beans side was served cool but also quite good, generous sauces. Quick & friendly service and I think a reasonable price for the portion (1 order ~$15.50 fed two people for lunch). They also had a build-your-own bowl option where you could pick the protein (eg. chicken, tofu, beef, lamb, falafel), sauce (eg. white garlic, spicy harissa, etc), base (eg. couscous, yellow rice, cauliflower), and side (eg. mixed greens, corn, chickpeas).

An underwhelming experience. Although the Mo'Rockin Style Chicken was tender, no particular flavor stood out. Also, I wasn't a fan of the Jalapeño Chickpeas as they were very spicy and tasted a bit "green". What made matters even worse was that the protein portion was small too--I left somewhat hungry still. I might return to try another protein...

Amazing! The first time I tried them was through a Yelp event and I liked the food so much that I've obviously gone back whenever we're in the Boston Public Market. Counter service as are most places in the Market. There was a line when we went on a Saturday afternoon but it moved quickly because everything is ready, the food just needed to be assembled. We got three bowls to share - Prince, Princess, Queen. The first two had chicken and the third had tofu. Interestingly the tofu was a scrambled version and was great. Everything was yummy and even though there were similar elements in every bowl (ie rice, sauces), there was still a flavor difference because of the toppings (ie jalapeno chickpeas, roasted beets, sweet corn). If you're looking for a spicy bowl, the Prince is what you should go for. We had a couple of kids in the party who found the bowl to be too spicy so we returned to buy a side of the yellow rice but the server said they cannot sell rice as a side. That's the only reason to drop a star. I feel like it's easy enough to list a side of rice for like $3? Or make an exception if someone requests it? Anyway, we ended up buying a side of the roasted beets so that we could balance the spiciness. PS: Do you know they appeared on Somebody Feed Phil?

Easily a top favorite lunch spot at the Boston Public market! Tender, slow, cooked lamb And the spicy Moroccan chicken are my favorites! A bowl will fill you up, and it comes with a side. I like the chickpeas. There are a few different sauces to pick from, garlic sauce is the most popular, but I prefer The Red spicy sauce instead. There is a community bench seating just past the restaurant where you can enjoy your meal. If you swing by in the evening, there are activities and trivia depending on the weeknight!

I was excited to try this place after seeing the high after seeing how highly rated it was. There were a lot of options on the menu so I was taking a minute to really decide what I wanted. The man serving was helpful and asking questions and also patient with me. He helped me to create the bowl I wanted. Upon eating it, it was cool, not mind blowing good, but also not bad. I really liked the spicy chickpeas, which I was actually uncertain about when putting in, but he assured me that they were really good. I will say that it was pretty expensive coming out at $16 which I don't think I would purchase again at this price point then again I'm from out of town and Boston prices may just be a little more than I'm used to.

Spot in Boston public market, went towards closing time so there was no wait at all Owner was very friendly and enthusiastic about explaining options! Got half cauliflower rice half yellow rice, chicken, chickpeas, and garlicky sauce and bbq sauce Overall was pretty good. I wish I had asked for more garlicky sauce and that it stayed warmer for longer haha. But that's no fault on the restaurant. Chicken was soft, so were chickpeas and cauliflower as well. There was a sizable portion of chickpeas and cauliflower so the meal did not feel too rice heavy at all! Everything was very cohesive together Very big portion, could not finish for one meal, so decent value and happy I tried it! ate in Boston public market tables and it was a very calm weeknight but nice big tables and fun ambiance

Halal, great serving size, fast service. And veryyyy flavorful!! I had the Mo'rocking chicken on a salad base with a side of chickpeas while my friend had the Sultan Bowl with couscous. The individual behind the counter was generous with the sauces (which I really appreciated!) They also have tofu and other vegan options. I think this will be my routine Monday- Mo'rockin fusion! Loved if! And do recommend!

    Beef tagine with jalapeno chickpeas

The beef was decent, pretty flavorful and juicy. I got half and half yellow rice and couscous, and I thought those were just okay. The jalapeno chickpeas were delicious. The harissa BBQ/white garlicky sauce was also pretty good. The composition of the bowl was a bit off - it felt way too carb heavy and didn't have enough sides/veggies. I would have appreciated more jalapeno chickpeas or something else to balance out the bowl. It definitely was a LOT of food, which was great value. But the meal left me feeling carbed out, and craving some veggies. Tl;dr pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have it again. Definitely one of the best options if you're already at Boston Public Market, though.

This place is spot on. Got the Princess. It was well seasoned and the Moroccan couscous was super yummy. The beet salad mixed in was perfect and all the flavors melded together into yummy goodness.

The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Sultan and these are my thoughts: lamb was super flavorful and went perfectly with the chickpea salad. The sauces on top tied the dish together by adding a wonderful kick of spice. Their food is hearty and filling, definitely something I would come back for. The owner was also super friendly and kind.

My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.
