Lovely ambience..perfect for a date night. We were seated indoors and realised it was too loud so we requested to be seated on the patio. We got the Tiropita rolls 5/5: the best of the lot. Crispy on the outside and doughy and cheesy on the inside. The Greek honey butter and olives were perfect! The butter was light and airy Tzatziki trio 3.5/5: the dips were great, especially the corn one and the beetroot one, even if a little bland Skopiteniki 3/5: the shell was good but the stuffing was okay..almost forgettable. The dish was also too dry. The wine was great! The server had us try a couple and helped us pick. My partner's wine was delayed so they took off the wine charges on our final bill. read more

Generally a positive experience though this most recent time we had a few odd moments that took away from the experience. We dined indoors. There were a number of flies/ gnats that joined us for dinner, which was not our favorite. We requested an open table by the door but were informed it was only for parties of 3- but then, several other groups of 2 were seated there during the period of time we were there. It's one thing if those tables were specifically reserved- that's fine- it just felt a bit dishonest. Also a note that if you have leftovers, they may not package the entirety of it (though I am not sure why..). For example, we had leftover tiropita rolls but the Greek honey butter (an essential component of the dish) was not packed. Similarly we had a lot of the chicken souvla left, but the roasted garlic yogurt was also omitted? Well worth a try, but less impressive on this visit. read more

I loved Krasi and will absolutely be back. We went for Symposium Wednesday, and it was my first time exploring Greek wines. The whites leaned a bit funky/natural for my taste, but I really enjoyed the reds. Standouts for me were the Magiatiko (amberjack crudo) and the Tiropita rolls. The Magiatiko was bright and fresh with beautiful acidity and herbs, while the Tiropita was pure comfort. Warm, buttery, and unbelievably soft with that perfect pillowy-dough texture and honey butter. We also ordered a charcuterie selection (Louza, Noumboulo, and Akrokolion: pork, wild boar, and lamb). Two servers described them differently, so I was never completely sure which was which, but everything was flavorful and nicely spiced. I usually love octopus, but the Xtapodomakaronada (braised octopus with pasta) wasn't my favorite. It was slightly fishy with a texture that didn't quite land for me. There are so many other dishes on the menu I want to try that I'd return in a heartbeat. I would've given Krasi five stars for the bread rolls alone. Almost everyone in my dinner party nominated this as their favorite. The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. We finally got to go back to Krasi and loved everything!! Special shout out to Journey who helped me navigate the menu ahead of time because of my allergies. There were also plenty of vegetarian items. The tiropita rolls were warm and better than I remembered. The fava with split pea and leek dip was so creamy and delicious with fresh pita. The alevropita was like a scallion pancake it with feta and caramelized onions on top- so good. My wife and I have been waiting to try Krasi so we took our daughter there for dinner while visiting Boston. To be fair, it is difficult for me to write a review for a Greek restaurant being brought up in a traditional Greek household. My parents both came to the US so I am a bit biased. My wife tried to talk me out of it but I wanted to see if the hype was real. We checked in and were sat at a charming table at the front of the restaurant. They had a nice bar area. The ambiance was cool and dark and pretty hip. Our server came and introduced himself. We ordered some wine and appetizers. The restaurant does not have a liquor license but does offer cordials like Ouzo. I don't understand it but if you want a cocktail, this isn't the place. The appetizers were good. We ordered Tzatziki made table side, some fresh rolls, some Kasseri cheese and some Lokaniko sausage. We were pretty happy at that point. However, things got shaky after this good start. Our server was virtually nonexistent. I had to ask another waiter for a 2nd glass of wine and some seasoning. Our entrees arrived. I got the rotisserie which was chicken, my daughter got Giouvetsi which is braised lamb with Orzo in a rich tomato sauce, and my wife got a pasta dish. They all looked good! However, my rotisserie chicken was pieces of dry chicken on a platter with some pita, potatoes, and overly ripe tomatoes on a platter. The potatoes had a really unusual aftertaste. My daughter's Giouvetsi was overcooked. They only gave us butter knives so it was impossible to cut into it. The sauce was not very flavorful. My wife's pasta was good. Value is not the greatest. My chicken dish was $36 dollars, and one glass of wine that my wife had was $19. I really was hoping for an authentic Greek restaurant in Boston but this isn't it. I hate to go against the Yelp rating. It is fine for people who have never had true authentic Greek dishes. It's like Midwest people flocking to Legal Seafood because they can get good fish at home. Such a cozy spot for dinner! Very intimate and inviting. For appetizer, we tried their Marouli salad, which I did not expect to have so much flavor. It was fresh, light, and every ingredient in there paired so well together. Probably one of the better salads I've had. For dinner, we had their Souvla, which was chicken this time. Honestly, maybe it was just us, but it did not quite hit the mark for us. They go by rotisserie of the day and that day we went was chicken. Perhaps other selections they had were probably better than the chicken we had that night. The ambience of the restaurant is lively and cozy and the service was also great, but the actual dishes were a bit lackluster and pricey. Tried the famous tiropita rolls and felt they were a bit heavy/oily, tableside tzatziki, xtapodi/octopus, and souvla. The dishes were okay, but felt that they were lacking some flavor/zest and I found myself wanting sauce to add some spice. Feast of the gods. I did this incredible Krasi experience for my 30th birthday with a group of 9 friends. From start to finish, this was truly a foodies perfect night. The feast involves every dish on the menu, and is recommended for a group of 6-8 dinners. The table at the back of the restaurant is reserved for this experience, and the table itself is gorgeous with a little moss terrarium under the table and a semi-secluded environment from the rest of the restaurant. The process was easy, and they did a perfect job of handling the dietary restrictions in our group (no pork, severe anaphylactic peanut/tree nut allergy) with confidence and ease. They were easily able to replace dishes that we couldn't eat (ie pork dishes) with other equivalent dishes on the menu. The food came out quickly, and each dish was truly phenomenal. Some highlights were the divine Tiropita Rolls (we added a few orders of these so we could each eat a whole roll), Htipiti dip, Fruitosalata, Magiatiko, Garides (!!), and Giouvetsi. This was truly the most perfect birthday experience. Such a fun concept where every dish is shared, and you spend the night passing around plates and so much food. Krasi, the name of the place I have passed several times near Hynes that I always wondered about. In December, I finally had a chance to try it and now I shall tell you my tale. First of all, booking for this place is insane even trying a month out. Luckily, I was able to snag a singular 7pm slot on a Monday at the bar. The restaurant has half bar seating and half small tables and feels like a long but tight halfway but in a good way! They were decked out for the holidays with ornaments hanging from the wall with wreaths and some gnome looking santas that frightened me a bit lol. Nice atmosphere and a good playlist that ends up fading to the back. You must absolutely get the triopita rolls and Portokalopita.... honestly was the best part. The rolls have that fresh bread aroma mixed with that sweetness from honey butter and the cheese inside. Honestly, 3 rolls was not enough. I have never tried an orange wine and enjoyed the one recommended to me by my server. He was really great and even gave us a shot on the house which was so complex in taste... I couldn't totally explain it. I really also enjoyed the bourdeto which was super red and apparently spicy but all i could taste were some spices lol. The tzatziki and giouvetsi were just alright to me. While the lamb was nice and easy to cut I felt like the sauce was lacking in flavor. After our shot, we dove into our dessert. On yelp reviews, all I saw were people mentioning this cake.. So I knew I had to get it. And let me tell you it was BUSSSSIn... so moist and orangey and paired so well with the ice cream. Seriously, just coming back here and getting wine, bread and dessert I would be satisfied. I left full from sharing 2 apps , 2 entrees and dessert and was surprised because I wasn't sure it was gonna be enough. While I do not think it lived up to the extremely high expectations this is definitely a nice spot to treat yourself on a special night and I would go again if I am prepared to spend a pretty penny. Our last visit, we had brunch (5/5). This time we came for dinner, and unfortunately it was a 3/5. Tiropita Rolls: I had heard from some other Yelpers that the tiropita rolls are to die for. While they were good, I don't think they were mindblowing. Marathopita: The first bite is delicious, but the dish itself feels a little too heavy on the flavors. Too salty and a little too sweet. Makes the dish a little too heavy, and I wish they had added something lighter to balance out the fried/heavy flavor. Mavromatika: The cheese was delicious. The rest of the salad was pretty average. Tsipoura: This was my favorite dish of the night, but even then it was just good, not excellent. Tartare was fresh and balanced nicely with the sunchoke chips. Tasty, but I've also had better. Try to book reservations well in advance, as they run out very quickly - even on weekdays. We were only able to get a 9pm reservation since we didn't reserve until the week before. Brunch at Krasi was so amazing! My friend had been by a few times up in Boston but had never eaten there so of course we had to go try it out! The menu gave a Mediterranean vibe so we wanted to try a few different options. We opted for the dips appetizer (tzatziki, htipti, pikantiko, pita chips), the avga me patatas (sunny side egg, shredded potatoes, goat cheese), and the kagianas (scrambled eggs, veggies, tapenade, feta). Everything we had tasted so refreshing and felt very farm to table! I'm not usually an olive tapenade girly but this one in particular mixed with the peppers made a difference. The dips were all tasty but my favorite was the pikantiko dip! The best way I can describe it is the Greek version of the pimento cheese dip I could taste the feta in it along with some tasty peppers and honestly if I could have had them fill up a container for me to take back on the plane I would've! We experienced fantastic service and good, innovative Greek food during a recent Sunday brunch here. Nice outdoor streetside patio (which was good because this was one of their Drag Brunch days and the inside dining area was crowded and very boisterous). The peinirli (boat-shaped dough filled with leeks, spinach, cheese and an egg) was good, but not great. It felt like it was missing something to offset the mild taste of the leeks and spinach. The better entree was the gyro benedict. The pita bread was grilled very well and the crispy fried chicken was tasty. The poached eggs had the right amount of runny yolk. The hollandaise was described as avgolemono. Knowing the soup of the same name, I expected some real lemon zest, but it was essentially just normal hollandaise. We all remarked on the lovely atmosphere, with our friends saying that it reminded them of NYC restaurants. This is a Greek wine bar with a phenomenal wine list and delicious food menu. Had a pretty great dinner here! The tzatziki was freshly made on the table, with them adding each ingredient and we mix them together. The dill was fresh and garlic wasn't too punchy. The fresh caught (I think this is the fish's name?) was tender and flavorful. Lamb was melt-in-your-mouth that much cooked--- the meat was easily falling off the bone. Service was nice and quick. Came here for dinner right at opening time. I didn't have reservations but I was able to snag a seat at the bar. The bar seating was really tight. I was literally elbow to elbow with my neighbor. It would be more comfortable if they took out 2-3 seats, but they are probably trying to squeeze in as many heads a night as possible. Classy interior with lights on the dimmer side for a romantic vibe. Great for special occasions and date nights. For dinner I had the pastitsio braised beef cheek pasta. It was so good omg. Beef cheeks were melt-in-your-mouth and went so well with the pasta. For dessert, I had the portokalopita cake. It was divine. It wasn't overly sweet. Solid Greek establishment with nice decor. We were very fortunate to walk-in ~11:45 and immediately get seated at a table, albeit only for 45 mins until 12:30. We got the Htipti, Lalagites, Gyro Benedict, and Souvla. The Htipti (a dip in the Dips item on the menu that we got a la carte for $6) was a spicy pepper whipped feta that was not enjoyable unfortunately: it was quite sour and felt like eating chunks of cheese. The Lalagites were tasty, similar to beignets or chinese fried mantou. The Benedict was our fav, a unique fusion take on a benedict with flavorful morsels of chicken. The Souvla tasted good but could have used more lamb for the $42 market price... Also, the pita bread in both mains were dry and a bit hard to chew. As the time neared 12:30, we appreciated how they gave us an extra 20 mins to finish eating. FYI: Feast of the Goddesses is one of everything on the menu, good for 5-10 people.
