I love coming here for trivia night Tuesdays from 8-10 (run by Geeks Who Drink) and sitting at the bar because the bartenders are awesome. Also very close to the Cabot Theater and cute shops. The cocktails don't typically blow me away but they're well priced and fun to share. The Rendezvous had a really nice bit of rose water in it. I was really surprised by how good their food is! Some of the scariest service I have ever received from a real witch of a waitress. I generally subscribe to the "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" approach when it comes to online reviews. I was excited to try this place based on a couple of articles I had read about it; I had two out-of-town guests visiting, and chose The Indo for a pre-Halloween event dinner. We walked in, saw the "Seat Yourself" sign, and did just that -- apparently the scariest thing we could've done all night. Within minutes, the Wicked Waitress of the Indo swooped in and told us to get up. They were waiting for the previous party to leave and needed our table for a larger party. Mind you, the other four people they needed the table for were not even there yet. I politely asked if we could move an open table to the corner that had bench seating, as that would allow all four of us to sit down. "I'm not doing that" was her charming response, and then she proceeded to walk away. I was stunned at the rudeness. But wait, there's more... Another party of four walked in, and she acknowledged that our party was already waiting for a table for four. She then promptly seated them ahead of us. So, not only rude, but vindictive. I told another server (a bartender or manager?) who approached us what had happened, and to his credit, he apologized. He asked if we wanted to wait and see if he could do something for us, but at that point, I was so disgusted, I decided to leave. We ended up down the street at Soma, where a delightful server named Matthew earned a 25% tip on a sizeable tab based on his exemplary service. If you want true horror this Halloween, forget haunted houses -- try to get a table here. Spare yourself a real fright night and skip The Indo. Happy Halloween! read more

Great spot right next to the Cabot theatre! Stopped here before a show and it was a chill spot. Seat yourself once you walk in - warning it's a small palace - but we went on a Friday at 6 pm and only waited about 10 minutes. The service was so quick! Sat down and had a drink in hand only two minutes later. The espresso martini was delish, real espresso for those who care. But the lemon drop martini was the winner for me! We got many apps, the pretzel bites, buffalo chicken eggrolls, Brussel sprouts, chicken tacos and truffle fries (per other reviewers). All amazing, cannot recommend this place enough! This place is awesome. My friend and I went for dinner on a Tuesday. They offer 1/2 off apps on Tuesday (their fries are also included in that discount). My friend got an order of the wings and the curry fries. I ordered a burger and instead of ordering normal fries, I opted for their bacon cheese fries. This is most likely the best burger I've had in North Shore if not, the Greater Boston area. They aggressively season their burger and the proof is in the finished product. We both cleaned our plates and I can't wait to go back. They also have an amazing draft beer selection with some well known ME, RI, and MA beers that any true craft beer lover will be more than happy with. Service was great, and between our server, what seem like a supervisor, and what seemed like a manager all checking in on our experience; it was great. I wouldn't really call this an Irish pub. There are few Irish or UK beers served here. The menu also has few of the standard Irish fare. I.e. corned beef, bangers and mash, boiled dinners etc. also you typically would find steak tips. But not here. We had the buffalo chicken rolls which were ok. My girlfriend got the fried chicken blt which was very good and contained marinated thigh meat. I got the fish and chips which was very disappointing. It was greasy and honestly looked and tasted like it came out of a Gorton's box from the supermarket. I expect much more from a place a few hundred yards from the ocean. The atmosphere was fun as there was a show going on at the Cabot. And they benefited from this.There were two servers there and they gave it their all, and they were very good. If you've ever watched Fleabag, there's an episode where her sister has a terrible haircut and complains she looks like a pencil. Well, the manager with the same haircut ushered us to a table that we could have until six until people were coming in for dinner. At 5.30 she informed us that there were six people that needed our table and that we had to move immediately or leave. Not moving fast enough, the pencil woman charged at us with a payment device and the check. Way to feel welcome, Swing Out Sister. After a frustrating afternoon house hunting in Beverly, my wife and I were so fortunate so find this gem of a pub. A welcoming, cozy interior and outstanding draft beer selection (including Delerium Tremens!) let us quickly see that we'd found a special place. The food was delicious as well. She ordered the beer brat and I had the bourbon chicken sandwich, both with truffle Parmesan fries- all of which were excellent. The service was top notch too. As far as we could tell there was one employee working both the bar and the restaurant, and he was always very friendly and attentive. We would have stayed for another round or two if we didn't have to drive back to Boston. Hopefully we can be back again soon! read more

Sub-par service and over-seasoned food. I would rather patron other restaurants. We walked into the restaurant at 7:00 PM on a Thursday and had to wait 10 minutes before anybody would wait on us. We ordered pretzel bites with cheese sauce, but the bites came out without the cheese sauce. Had to wait another 5-7 minutes before I could ask the waitress for cheese sauce, which then took another 5 minutes to get to us. Ordered entrées: My fiancée asked for a plain burger (with no toppings or sauce) and french fries, but her burger comes out with sauce on it and pickles. Had to wait another 5 minutes to get the waitress' attention and send the food back. My food was over-seasoned, as were her burger and fries when she got her reorder. This seems to be a nice local bar. We went for Sunday Brunch and enjoyed it. I only had an egg--not exciting--but my companion had the Breakfast Sandwich and really enjoyed it. The potatoes were unusual for breakfast, they had gravy on them, but it was a tasty addition. I chose the Indo because they had tofu choices (3!) but my companion wasn't in the mood for that. The indo is our go to spot for cocktails! They by far have the one of the best selections and more creative options in Beverly. My personal fav is What She's Having or their piña coladas. They also have an awesome collection of craft beer, which is nice to meet the drink preferences of all types of people. In a group. The bartenders are generally pretty laid back, which matches this general atmosphere of the place. Good lord I love this burger. It is my Platonic ideal of a burger: juicy, a little fatty, savory, tender. The fries are great too. So's the arugula and white bean salad. Everything else I've tried has been okay but just okay. Beer list here is amazing. I wish it changed up a little more frequently but that's just nit-picking. Service is a fascinating mix of really friendly and attentive, and openly hostile. You never know what you're going to get, so fun. (I exaggerate- it's usually the former, but the latter happens often enough that my hackles go up preemptively now.) Ambience is cozy, relaxed, fun. Music is occasionally too loud but that's not the worst sin for a bar. Anyway go eat the burger. read more
