Wonderul dining experience, food and service! Located in the Downtown area of Marblehead. Upscale restaurant with linens, etc. We chose to dress up based on reviews but seriously most patrons were not even casually dressed as some wore sweatpants and/or sweatshirts, and this was Saturday for dinner! I think anything goes but would suggest at least nicer jeans. Since this was our travel day; I wanted a nicer place that we could eat light or heavy. 5 Corners Kitchen jumped out as it has inhouse made pastas (and usually several pasta dishes to choose from). Inhouse made pasta is more common on the East Coast (scarse where we live on the West Coast). I made a reservation in advance (week before) and glad I did. Guessing reservations required! We arrived for our 5pm reservation right when they opened. There was a line outside but when they unlocked the doors (reminded me of a scene from The Bear) most immediately went to the bar to eat and drink. Most tables are set for two people with a few for larger parties (6-8 people). Date night type place with more table turns. At 5pm, there were very few diners but by 515pm the place was packed and remained that way with other parties coming in (the pictures show before others arrived). Interior is very modern yet cozy. Great vibes. Lots of fun lights and accents all around. Tables for two are small but our food arrival and eating was just the right pace. I noticed the table next to us was having difficulty with space (but not other tables). They ordered several appetizers (vs entrees) and wanted them at once. The server was great in asking when we wanted our courses as the order goes in all at once, the kitchen just needs to know when. The food was outstanding! We are Foodies so we know and seek out grrat food! Because we traveled all night and day, we weren't too hungry, so we skipped on an appetizer. They have great options and we wished we had more space but decided we were going to have dessert instead! Very nice selection of wines by the glass and/or bottle along with many beers including a few BA beers, and.a full bar for what looks like very creative cocktails! My husband ordered an NA Ale and pleased with his selection. I ordered Camille tea! The food! We started with slitting a wedge salad and sure glad we split it! Just one-half was plenty big! The heirloom cherry tomatoes were excellent, the dressing great, and the inhouse bacon pieces were OMG so good! A meal in itself! For entrees, I ordered the Mushroom Rigitoncini. Lots of different types of mushrooms along with Black Truffle. The sauce was absolutely amazing! The homemade pasta, excellent and done just right! It had Arugula for the herb (vs Basil) that gave it a nice accent flavor. Excellent choice! My husband ordered the Salmon dish, served over a warm salad with a nice light vinaigrette! Fresh fish and excellent dish. Small menu with ten entrees plus a special.to select from, but honestly hard to choose and they all are so tempting. Hoping to be able to return while we are still.here this week! For desert we ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Again,.so hard to choose but their Gelato is inhouse made and this one came with a scoop of Vanilla Gelato, like ordering two desserts! We barely had room but enjoyed every bite! Excellent restaurant! Service was wonderful and our Server, Declan, was exceptional. Very attentive. Other staff helped to clear plates (necessary with small tables), bring dishes, refill water glasses, etc. All were very friendly and helpful. read more

Perhaps the best meal I have had since moving to the United States. Not photographed was a whiskey sour with egg white that was perfectly balanced and mixed. My meal with homemade pasta and slightly spice fennel sausage was bang on, it was. The Pommes frites reminded me of time eating at some of the best frites joints in Amsterdam. With such a great meal, the dessert, crème brûlée, came as a distant second to the meal. Service was fine; the waitress put up with the table well. Ambiance was fine. We moved away from Marblehead six years ago, but while visiting this past weekend, we made a point to eat here- and it's still amazing! Easily the best restaurant in town in our opinion and one of the best on the North Shore. Even on a packed Friday night, the service and food were outstanding. 5 Corners Kitchen is a gem in Marblehead. It's so pretty inside and was quite lively. My friend and I loved our experience. Our server, Megan, was fantastic, which I really appreciate. She was so kind and attentive. The hostess was friendly too. Between the two of us, we had Smoke Show, She's Thirsty, Fashionably Late, and Purple Rain to drink. We agreed the drinks were delicious, and we had just come from pre-dinner cocktails at The Hidden Door. The deciding factor in visiting 5CK was that I wanted to try the Fashionably Late (bourbon/ Valencia orange liqueur/Lillet Blanc/bitters/mint) and it did not disappoint. And then I had to order the Purple Rain, which was light and refreshing, and absolutely gorgeous. For food, we shared everything, and our server brought the entrees on separate plates, which was so thoughtful. Love that. Everything looked good to us, even the specials, so we had a hard time deciding. We shared the queso de cabra, duck confit, creste di gallo, and chocolate cake. The queso was rich and creamy. The duck was so crispy and succulent. I haven't had good duck in a while, and I love duck. so this really wowed. My favorite pasta dish is one with sausage and broccoli rabe, so I was excited for the creste di gallo. This dish was flavorful and good. Chocolate cake was satisfying and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. I highly recommend heading to 5 Corners Kitchen for a memorable Marblehead meal. read more

Service is amazing here, from the waitresses, servers and food bussers. And the quality of the food is so fresh, it does take some time getting out but they have plenty of appetizers and drinks on the menu that you don't notice. Our server was knowledgeable on the menu and the wine list and helped make recommendations. My husband and I came on a Friday night and there was a constant flow of people, not sure if they take reservations - id recommend making one if they do. Omg! Best food I've had in the Boston area all week. We started with the ceaser salad and the broccoli appetizers. These appetizers were nothing short of fabulous. Actually, I could have just eaten these two appetizers and been happily sated but I also got the burger. I could not finish everything. Simply too much delicious food. Hubby ordered the skate. The burger was juicy and the fries were perfectly crispy. The skate was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. The sides were all delicious. . Overall a tad pricy but it was the best meal I had in the north shore area. Definitely try it!! read more

I first tried 5 Corners in September 2021 and it left such an impression that I knew I wanted to come back the next time I was in Marblehead. Case in point: a trip to New England for the Taurus New Moon, with Venus in Taurus. The plan: utter decadence. And 5 Corners delivered again. I was obsessed with the Steak Frites from last time, and it did not disappoint on my second visit. A nice selection of wines by the glass for pairing. And if there's a crème brûlée on the menu. I'm going to order it. The lavender shortbread cookies that come with it can be used as a spoon, according to our server. Perfectly light and flaky, with a lovely floral flavor to accompany the creamy vanilla custard. I'm so glad I was able to go back to 5 Corners on this trip. It will forever be a return destination any time I'm visiting this corner of the country. read more

Our favorite North Shore restaruant. Consistantly excellent service, food, and presentation. Most recent family visit was on February 28th and, as always, a wonderful experience. For starters, oysters and the hamachi tartare followed by the 5K Burger, Line-Caught Cod, and the Cacio E Pepe. For dessert, Grapefruit Pavlova, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse. For dinning and setting, just doesn't get any better. read more

Update: Downgraded to one-star. The owner e-mailed and asked if I could provide more details on my bad experience -- I was impressed at first, that he was concerned.... so I told him that the hostess was downright rude and ignored me when I tried to check in and took care of the people standing in line behind me and when I attempted to tell her I was there first, she was dismissive and walked off to seat that other party. At that point we should have walked out but the weather was nasty and we were hungry. I responded to the owner 5 days ago... he has not responded and this speaks volumes... it tells me that he is as much of an a-- hole as the hostess is. Our experience disappointingly started off very poorly with an extremely rude receptionist. However Jay, our server quickly ameliorated our disappointment with his pleasant and attentive service. The vibe is upbeat and food was excellent... I can't say enough about the charred broccoli... I never would've thought I'd be giving a vegetable such an accolade! The other dishes were also prepared creatively and cooked to perfection. 2-stars only because the receptionist.... our first impression ... was totally despicable and her condescending attitude is unacceptable!! We're frequent flyers of 5 corners and always take out of town friends when they come to visit. I've seen a few reviews about the menu not changing and I have to disagree. I find every time we go there's another new entree on the menu, if not 2. I always tell friends to get the steak frites because it's always good, and always impresses. A month or so ago, they had a duck special and it was amazing. As luck would have it, they decided to add the duck entree to their menu and I got it again. It was amazing. My wife typically gets a pasta dish which also just changed so she got that. I don't remember the name but it was a fresh thick cut pasta with a hearty meat sauce. It was heavy, but really good. We also always get at least 1 order of escargot (1 order per couple). It's one of, if not the best things on the menu and their best app by far. We also always get the Brussel sprouts and a side of their amazing fries. The servers, support staff, bartenders; everyone is great. read more

Went this past weekend. Luckily made a reservation a week prior because it was packed! Very attentive service. No rush, but there when we needed him. We have cocktails at the Hidden Door before arriving so we order wine and beer straightaway. Apps were the Hamachi tartar - FANTASTIC. Onion soup - wonderful. Escargot - look at that s car go!.. Mains were equally wonderful. The skate wing was perfect. Frankly it was so good I forget what everyone else got. Desserts were also yummy. No lack of rudeness and condescending attitude. The staff or certain waitstaff need to attend a charm school. We went there on a special occasion and had look forward to a special night out. Waiter was so rude and unfriendly. Orders had to include appetizers and entrees together. It was made clear that the wishes of the customer were not appreciated. Really impressive dishes here. Outdoor seating plentiful for those who are more comfortable with that arrangement. The mixed lettuce greens, as simple as it sounded, were delicately cut, with a very light vinaigrette to provide some acidic balance, and a nice sliver of goat cheese for some creamy richness. The moules frites delivered on all fronts - crispy fries and a seafood-rich braising broth with creme fraiche. Mussels were well-sourced, plump and juicy flavors, cooked to perfection. The skate with haricots verts over mash exceeded expectations of this classic dish. Skate cooked nicely, with a crisp outside and a tender fish meat. Skate can be tricky to cook, and they did a nice job - also sometimes skate carries a fishiness entirely missing from tonight's rendering. Haricots verts cooked to tender perfection without being waterlogged. Mash rendered nicely, finely blended, balancing the protein and veggies. Extremely mInor concern - perhaps part of the plate was a bit greasy (butter?) and could have been removed. Service excellent, as multiple servers came by to fill empty or half-empty glasses, often times rather unobtrusively. Only critique I could think of - music was a bit too loud, and stylistically jarring with the dishes. In short, standard fare, limited menu, but focused and quality execution. My wife and I didn't have a great experience here. We arrived a few minutes before they opened (4:57 when they opened at 5pm) on a very cold night. Several of the staff were sitting in the dining area, and just stared at us while we approached and unsuccessfully tried to open the door. We walked back to our car and strongly considered going elsewhere. This soured things from the get-go, clearly displaying how much the staff does not care... But, we had driven over a half-hour to try this place, so circled back a few minutes after 5. As they had just opened, the only other guests were people directly ahead of us that were eating at the bar. We had a reservation, they tried to sit us next to the bar, we asked for a different table, the waitress/hostess checked the computer and said they only had two other less-than-great tables available. Strike two... why is our reservation lesser than anyone else's? There were a few small hiccups throughout the meal, but our waitress did warm up as things progressed. The kitchen did a wonderful job with the food, everything was delicious. Prices on a couple of things ($15 for french onion soup?) were a little higher than I thought they were worth, but nothing completely unreasonable. I imagine this is a good place for locals/regulars, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. read more

Yum! Boneless 1/2 Chicken and Dry Aged Pork Chop... Both meals were excellent and very tasty. The Chicken meal was the best I've ever had. The chicken was juicy and sat atop the carrots, mushrooms and pommels purée. The atmosphere was lively yet felt intimate enough for the two of us (thank you for having the music at a volume where the patrons did not have to shout to hear one another!). My friends and I decided to try 5 Five Corners for the first time tonight and we were very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. The food was ok, but the majority of the staff were extremely rude and do not accommodate the guests needs or requests. Just moved to Marblehead and this is my new favorite restaurant. The food here awakens taste buds you never knew existed. Have tried the burger, gazpacho, and half chicken and all were exceptional. 5 Corners makes the best burger in New England. No exaggeration. I am visiting from out of state and found this restaurant which I had high hopes for. The service was appalling. I believe the waiter name was possibly Phil. However, he was dismissive to my needs and inattentive as well as had horrible people skills. The food was not great and for the cost wasn't even willing to accommodate any allergy's or certain modifications to any entree for myself. I have always loved coming to this establishment and have been a faithful patron for years. I hope today was just a bad day, but if not, I don't know that I will frequent this establishment more than one more time to redeem themselves. I was guided to two seats at the bar and happy to get the seats offered. However, there were two other unoccupied seats available that were being held for friends of the bar tender. These friends didn't arrive until at least 10 minutes later and they actually turned away business from another couple eyeing the same seats at the bar. The female bar tender was adequate but provided an unwelcoming experience from the get go. I have an appreciation for the struggles experienced by the industry over the past year and a half, but rude is just rude. Your new staff is far from epic and if Elizabeth wants to hire these unfriendly and rude individuals to support their mission to come out on top again, she really needs to rethink her strategy. Sorry tonight's experience was regrettable, but you only have one chance to make a positive impression on any customer. What you didn't know is that this was a long time customer and the experience provided will take a long time to forget. This place has a great atmosphere and the friendliest staff. They certainly know how to keep your water glass full which is essential for me because I drink a lot of water. For apps, my husband got the $1 oysters and I ordered the mixed lettuces salad. Both choices were excellent! The dressing on the salad was light and just enough to coat the leaves without being overly dressed. For entrees, I ordered the squid ink bucatini and my husband, the bratwurst (featured under apps). I totally finished the entire pasta dish but just a warning that it is very fishy tasting for people who are looking for a lighter fish dish. The brat dish was soooo good and had a nice smokey flavor to it. This was definitely a good find for our day trip to Marblehead! read more
