I grew up 5 minutes away from this inn and have always wanted to stay! I got the opportunity to stay this past weekend and it was wonderful. Ken met us at Checkin and we immediately felt comfortable. Our room was so cute and very clean. Breakfasts were delicious and I didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back!

The Hearthside Room - a very warm and inviting place to spend the night

We spent two nights at The Inn at Ragged Edge curtesy of a Living Social deal, and we were very pleased with our stay. The Inn is in a beautiful house which is easy to get to but removed enough from the hustle and bustle to allow for an extremely quiet, calming getaway. Lew and Fran are very sweet and show a nice balance between their hospitality towards guests and still maintaining a good distance to uphold everybody's privacy and desire for solitude. The rooms are quite lovely. We stayed in the Hearthside even though it was summer, and we loved the soft earthy tones and the King-sized bed with light drapes that could be pulled down around the top. Everything about the rooms is very comfortable, homey, and yet still classy. There is also a little common room with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and sink that guests are welcome to use. The grounds are quite nice, with patio tables and chairs in the back and a little stream down the hill that is visible from many of the rooms. The breakfasts--made mostly by Fran--are hearty but absolutely delicious. They asked right off the bat when I made reservations if we had any dietary restrictions and took them into account easily. Each element of the breakfasts was presented elegantly and made with love. It was just so nice to see someone truly putting care and soul into their work. I would not recommend this inn for families with young children--it just doesn't have that kind of vibe to it. We even felt out of place coming home quite late one night from a long day of exploring in Gettysburg, and we were not making any sort of ruckus. Definitely plan on making a stop here if you are looking for an evening of peace and relaxation.

    Amazing woodworking throughout

Stunningly restored Frank Furness designed "cottage", Ken and Barb were wonderful hosts for our quick getaway. We will return when we set off to explore more of the area ~ or for just their amazing stuffed French toast.

Found a towel that , once unrolled, looked as if someone peed on it (no exaggerating). The shower overly grimy and didn't have any slip proofing. The tub filled up because the A. The drain must have been clogged and B. The faucet was pouring out water while the shower head was running. I always make a note to check the air conditioner filters and yet have one that wasn't filthy and needed cleaning, as I did with this one, and I mean I can't believe this thing could still take in air through it. Felt little bites on my leg once in a while but that could possibly be my mind playing tricks on me as the chance for bed bugs in a motel is ever increasing for various reasons and I think any sane individual would be a little paranoid about that in a motel. Half the lights didn't work. I will say that the beds were very comfortable although I was too worried to use the bedding after the towel issue and my BB paranoia. Oh and the fan didn't work in the bathroom either which is a danger for mold growth. Maintenance and housekeeping needs to become a priority for this place now and forthcoming.
