So much potential here. Really old gorgeous building that needs some work but hey, that's expected. Some small improvements would help: the front desk girl was kinda odd, not super friendly and didn't give a lot of info including about breakfast. The gal who delivered our breakfast was so sweet but the breakfast could be better. Even just investing in some nice trays and actual plates vs foam would make it so much more special. Also unimportant but a "little thing" would be better soaps and shampoo. "Eco soap" isn't super exciting. Really nice grounds though. read more

We host our annual Department gathering here. They easily accommodate 100 people. The food is wonderful, and there is so much to choose from! They decorate as simply or as fancy as I need for the event. They even bag up any leftovers we have or us to take home. We absolutely love our events here! read more

This Inn has a great location and was comfortable. However, the cleanliness was somewhat lacking and breakfast was mediocre. They need some working lights in the back courtyard and the grounds definitely need work. read more

Great lil B&B. Had a very minor snafu checking in, we booked on a popular online site but the site and the Inn calendars don't sync. No problem, they still had rooms, unfortunately not the same as we booked but that's okay, things happen and the lady checking us in could've have been nicer and accommodating. She put us in a room on the top floor of an adjacent building with a large porch overlooking Main St. Great customer service. read more

Convient location. The room although spacious, could use a few updates like, cleaning the ceiling fan, (I was afraid to turn it on due do the obvious dirt), brighter beside lamps, the batroom sink had one faucet that pours cold water and one faucet for hot water, the day bed has a bad dip in the middle of the mattress. The queen size bed was comfortable. We had no idea they were serving a "covid" style breakfast. Delivered to our room was burnt scambled eggs, sauage dog on a stick, an orange, juice and coffee. Hot items were luke warm. Not at all what we expected for our stay at that price. We will not go back. read more

We stayed at this Bed and Breakfast, and I use that term loosely from August 25th to the 28th. We received an email from them on our way to Salado which is about 3 hours from where we live. They said their air conditioner was broke and there would be no breakfast on Friday. I asked if there was a coffee maker since my husband would be working from the ved and breakfast friday. They said no but there was a coffee shop next door. This should have set up all kinds of signals to find somewhere else to stay. Why could they not make breakfast if the AC was out? Why could they no at least offer coffee? Or go get doughnuts? After all we are paying for a B&B. From that point on we had absolutely no co tact with anyone at the B&B. They would not come to the door, answer the phone or answer emails. On their website it states that the kitchen would be open for use of ice and coffee. And of course breakfast. The AC was working. It was cycling on and off. We stayed in the cottage which of course was more expensive and we never were offered breakfast and all doors were locked. We went and bought a cooler for ice and a coffee maker. I do not know why in the world we did not change establishments except for we had already paid for pur entire stay upfront and with this kind of service we didn't think we would receive a refund. We did dispute charges and the only thing we might receive is $120 for the breakfasts we were not served. This does noting for the coffee maker, coffee, cups filters, cooler and ice we purchased. Also the trees are so low that even me 5 foot 3 inches had to bend way down and move them out of the way to get through 2 different walk ways on the property. Also the steps are rotten and we had to be care getting into the cottage. I am attaching photos. I would like to know if there is anything that will be done to remedy this matter. We have never had a problem of any kind at a B&B. People usually want repeat customers and care about their business. If you are not aware of these problems look on line at the reviews. They use the AC or no electricity as an excuse often. Along with other excuses or more often no excuse. They take people's money and then have no co tact at all with their customers. read more

Love this place!!! Jacob was amazing! He helped us find the best wine for what we love and gave us other options as well. He couldn't have been more helpful. We are staying at the Stagecoach Inn tonight but would definitely consider the Inn at Salado in the future due to his table manner and personality. Howdy! I'm from Austin and wanted to take my fiancé out to Salado for some wine and art etc... for her birthday. We went just about everywhere in town. Some really great places! But this place stood out. Very cool historic spot. Shaded patio. Good wine. Great place to chill. We were greeted quickly by Jacob. And he also set up up with a few tastings. THIS WAS THE MOST BIZZARE B&B experience we have ever had. The website publicity about friendly staff to greet you & breakfast & free wi fi & tv, NONE of it is true. We arrived & our key was in a lockbox w/a map. The toilet was dirty like a frat house with a bunch of guys. The soap more thin than a mint and would not lather. Breakfast was not served as there was NO STAFF ON PREMISES at all. Coffee maker & breakfast (eggs/bacon) food unprepared we're in a refrigerator next door to our room. A sign said "help yourself"!!! In addition, the wifi did not work ( which was advertised be free) AND the tv did not work ( which was also advertised). Our credit card was charged promptly upon arrival, so we could not stop payment & chg location. We also received no response to email, text or telephone communication trying to get someone to give us service or information. Our friends and we were the ONLY people on the premises. The rockers on the porch were dirty, the bldgs looked delapitated & needed paint. Two chairs in our room were broken. I thought I had arrived to the Bates Motel! Patti DeFrance read more

I would definitely NOT recommend this place. The customer service was horrible. We locked ourselves out of the room and had a horrible time getting a hold of someone. The lady that finally called me back was rude and hung up on me. A gentleman met my husband and he was very nice and courteous. We had no A/C on Saturday night. read more

This is a quaint stop, easy check in and accomodating hosts. I have stayed overnight here for business reasons and they are always willing to leave me a yogurt/fruit thing in the fridge when I have to leave before the big breakfast on a weekday. Although no coffee on these early departures, hence my review of the coffee shop in Salado (although even THEY were closed last time i rolled out , could have been on vacation, this is a small town you know!) The Inn at Salado makes it easy to like them and their newer rooms are comfortable, clean and a great place to stay for the cute Christmas parade in December. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a cute, quiet place to stay for Spring Break, and the Inn at Salado ended up being the perfect place. Did we feel a little out of place as we are in our late teens/early twenties? Yes. Did the innkeeper give us a little bit of a nervous look when we walked in? Yes. But gosh darn it. It was the best experience I've ever had on a vacation. I love antiques and this beautiful, old inn gave me chills. We stayed in the Rose Room which is just an awful, awful room (please don't rent it, I love it so much). It is just perfect. It has it's own private balcony with a little bench swing. The only complaint I could possibly have is that I almost died stepping out of the GORGEOUS clawfoot bathtub. Maybe yall could put in a little wooden step stool for the tall and clumsy like me? read more

I just had my wedding here!!!! This is the best venue for your wedding. Most everything is already taken care of. In fact, your wedding planner which is provided to you by the Inn will help you with everything you need help with to have a beautiful wedding. The grounds are so quaint and cute we could not resist choosing this location. I was a worry free bride because I didn't have to plan the small stuff. You have to check this place out for yourself. Received text with check in instructions and code to get in lockbox that was supposed to contain keys, directions to the room and map. Lockbox had only keys, property consists of separate buildings and entrances. We knew our room was on 2nd floor and we would up climbing three sets of very steep poorly lighted stairs before we found our room, then had to carry all our luggage up the probably 25 steps with very poor lighting. No one was present on the property and note on front door had phone no that no one answered or returned calls. The kitchen had note that they no longer provided breakfast but guests were welcome to use kitchen. Refrigerator was stocked with bacon, eggs and juice. Sink was full of dirty dishes and greasy pans that were still there the following day so not sure how long they had been there. Room was large and comfortable. TV did not work. Never saw another person on the property while we were there. Got no response of any kind to calls and texts. Will NOT stay there again. read more

Out of all places we visited to hold a wedding this was the least attractive, run down rooms and an odd old smell. There are wedding venues that are by far more elegant and much nicer than this place. Overpriced with very little quality, almost none. They are trying to fit in a business concept that does not mesh the area. Even worse, they are not military service member friendly. Retired service members that served a life time are not treated with respect. The owners are abrasive, disrespectful and arrogant. Not a good business conduct. They have yet to understand that owning a business entails being nice to everybody. read more

My daughter and I came here to spend some quality time together and it was a great trip. We picked the Inn for the location to shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Kolb suite which was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom had a deep claw foot tub and very hot water which facilitated a nice bubble bath at the end of a long day of walking, shopping, and sightseeing. The owner Rob Petro, made a nice hot breakfast of eggs, biscuits and gravy, potatos and waffles. Not great but edible and better than donuts! I would definitely come back. read more

Amazingly, this little gem beat the old rule that you can only have two of the following: charming, clean and affordable. It's all three - and we had the most affordable of all the rooms. It was a Wednesday night in this sleepy little tourist town so we were the only guests but the owner was on hand the next morning, preparing and laying out a delicious breakfast buffet. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom impeccable. Wifi worked perfectly - we watched most of "Lonesome Dove" on a laptop - and the room was comfortably air conditioned. Went here with the family for mother's day. Food was okay, nothing fantastic, but the service was less than stellar. We were rushed throughout even though there were empty tables and no one waiting. Discussed it with the manager and he didn't seem too concerned. The server took away my wife's salad plate while she was still eating. They started bussing the table of everything even though we weren't finished. Not what you want for a relaxing family event. Won't go back. read more
