It is a ten minute drive to downtown Chatham, a small town with shops, and a 15 minute ride to Lenox (the Berkshires are also close by). It was a perfect location and vibe for meeting a friend and getting some girl time (she came from New Jersey, me from Boston). It is as special as we had hoped it would be with not a detail missing. The Inn Keepers, Khloe and Sean, were hospitable and organized, reminding us of our reservation days in advance and asking if we needed anything beforehand. The location: A hop, skip, and a jump from Tanglewood, the Norman Rockwell museum, and not too far a drive from MASS MoCA. For dinner, Lenox MA is nearby with lots of good options. Though the inn, like most old homes, abuts the road, once you're on the property it's perfect. The grounds are massive. The Inn: The house itself is beautiful, inside and out. Every room (two shared lounging areas, one dining room, and the room we stayed in) were so well decorated and put together. Nothing felt too precious to sit on or enjoy, and nothing felt cheap. Amenities: Our room was cozy and beautiful. The bathroom floor warmers were a nice surprise on the cold November day we stayed. The Aesop products were a welcome treat, too. Only thing I would have asked for were more plugs given the number of devices we travel with. The breakfast: Oh my god the breakfast. The owners cook it themselves. Simple, tasty, local. And I don't know where they get the beans, but the coffee is absolutely perfect - especially on a fall morning like we had. One note: They have a sweet, friendly dog who is mostly in his own quarters but if you're deathly allergic I'd email them to make sure you have the accommodations you need.

This really needs to read "continental breakfast included." The homemade muffins were very good, granola and greek yogurt also good (though would have preferred a choice of yogurts as I prefer vegan), some fresh fruit, slices of bread and a bowl of hard boiled eggs was all nice but not what I would call "breakfast included." Also, we noticed immediately that the room we had did not fit the description given to us of our room when we booked. We were told it had a mountain view which it did not. Upon asking about this, the gentleman at the desk kindly acknowledged that in his email communication he had inadvertently mixed up the room descriptions. This was not an issue and the room we had was fine but it would have been nice to have received some token of recognition for this miscommunication.

It's really easy to find, is right off the highway and is located close to places you want to visit. I'm not super picky about hotels and for the price we paid we got a lot of stuff--fridge, wi-fi (didn't try it, but it was advertised as being included), microwave, decent breakfast. The negatives are that the room smelled very damp, it wasn't possible to open any of the windows to let in fresh air, and there were a lot of bugs. I didn't sleep very well, but I can't completely write this place off because it was cheap and convenient. Like I said, you get what you pay for.
