    Horrible customer service. I was an awesome customer for years. No accidents and no claims ever…read morefiled. Last year I was forced to enter auto pay or pay my annual premium in full upfront. My insurances rates were also increased on top of this... I had a change in my debit card due to fraud And because of this I received a new card. I called in to manually make the payment and inform Allstate of the change in card info. Also to confirm I would not be charged twice. I was told everything was fine and not to worry. Subsequently I was told I was being removed from auto pay due to 2 returned payments and would now need to make accelerated payments and there was nothing they could do once their systems had already flagged me as a returned payment. Of course I had enough and requested a cancellation of my policy and immediately secured insurance elsewhere for half the price. I was shocked to discover how much I was over paying. Just today I got an email saying my policy was successfully cancelled and I would be charged a prorated amount for the waiting period of my new insurance provider to kick in??? I'm so annoyed by the money hungry customer service provided by this office. How are u gonna tell me I'm not insured if I don't pay and then go back and try to charge me after I have already requested cancellation of such HORRIBLE SERVICE! on top of that the manager Michelle orozco threaded to send me to collections if I don't pay which is against FDCPA rules of collections. Customers beware... I will be filing a formal complaint w the better business bureau. Have a blessed day. Good riddance.

Throughout our entire policy term, there were, in my opinion, repeated service failures. Kettering-Rose did, in my view, very little to advocate for our business (nor were they successful on any level when they did) with the carriers, and in my professional opinion, their insurance guidance and counseling was severely deficient--generic, reactive, and of almost no value to a growing company like ours. The true colors showed when we exercised our absolute right to switch brokers. On March 12, 2026, after issuing a Broker of Record notice on our Employment Practices Liability policy (which was expiring in just eleven days), Linda McCracken at their offIce emailed to confirm they were closing the file but explicitly "declined to waive the five-day waiting period." In my opinion, this five-day waiting period is nothing more than a professional courtesy that reputable brokerages routinely extend--especially on a policy expiring so soon. It appeared to me that their refusal was petty retaliation and obstruction, nothing else. In my view, this seems to be the game Heffernan Kettering Rose plays when a client dares to leave: create unnecessary delays and headaches just to punish you for switching. I was forced to direct the carrier myself, demand immediate file transfer (including all documents, loss runs, and correspondence), and warn them of escalation to the California Department of Insurance if they continued interfering with the insured's rights. No business owner should ever have to threaten regulatory action simply to move their own policy. Future clients and business owners: be warned. If you ever want the flexibility to switch brokers, or if you expect actual advocacy and competent counseling instead of what I believe was mere lip service, stay far away from this firm. Their behavior reveals, in my opinion, that they care more about control and ego than client service. We wish we had left sooner. Do yourself a favor--find a brokerage that respects your business instead of, in my opinion, punishing you for leaving. -- Business owner and operator San Diego, CA

I just renewed my insurance and it couldn't have been easier. She took care of everything, including sending a copy of the insurance certificate to the PUC and LAX and SAN airports. All I had to do was just to sign the paperwork and that was it. She did the rest. Highly recommend! Thank you Celena!

Accidents by definition are unexpected. The degree to which I became totally disabled was as totally unexpected as my totaled car was. When I finally surrendered to the devastating realization that I could not go on like I was, I filed for disability with a private insurance policy I bought in my early 20's. Never expecting to become disabled, not to mention in my late 30's, I was fortunate that I had the foresight as a self-employed, single person to know that disability insurance was not a luxury expense if I ever needed it. And I did. For many, many years. The policy was a good one, and I did use it way beyond the premiums I had paid up to that point. But it could have served me much better financial support if I had known what to look for in a policy, vetted the insurance companies, compared policies, and upgraded my coverage as my income increased over the years before I had to file a claim. I met the founder of DIS, Dan Steenerson, and many other staff members through another avenue. I got to know them all well. I even hired one of them for my new business website. I can say without hesitation if I were to get a policy now (which I can't, as this is after my claim) I would buy a policy through DIS. The values of the company are reflected in their way of doing business, their mission, the quality of their employees, and most certainly, in their policies. I highly recommend preparing for the unexpected and DIS.

I've been a customer for our auto ins for years, I had left them…read morein the early 2000's and came back in 2022, they are a bit pricey but I was ok with that since they offer the higher limits. Whelp the most awful Thing happened 12/17/25, I was in a horrible accident & my truck was totaled! I gave Wawanesa grace since it was coming up on the Christmas holiday but once 2 weeks passed and no response from adjusters I started to worry as the rental coverage is only for 30 days & I had no vehicle that was being repaired! Well my Worst nightmare came true! The total loss adjuster assigned to us was dragging her feet, never contacted my finance company even though she lied to me on several occasions that she had!! I she had told me over the phone on a Thursday that I would have a check the following Monday & that day came & was gone & it took another 10 days to actually get our funds due us to go replace my vehicle! I would call my finance company daily to see if they've given the payoff to my Ins company & for 2 weeks was told they have not been contacted!! Of course my rental ran out, Wawanesa refused to extend even though THEIR incompetent adjuster didn't follow thru & I literally was doing all the leg work to get my payout to purchase a new vehicle! I ended up paying out of pocket a total of 10 days at $50 a day, thank goodness the rental provider extended the rate to me or I'd be out more money due to Wawanesa's failure to do their job! As of today our loan check to our finance company has still not been recd, it's been since 01/24. So not only did Wawanesa force me to incur over $500 in charges for a rental, my credit is also taking a hit !! I am so disappointed & have left msg for managers with no return call or explanation! I am shocked at Wawanesa & so upset that we pay our ins policy, mind you it's not cheap in CA & with the way things are in the world with ins right now & then to be treated with such arrogance as if we are asking for a favor!! If I could take my business elsewhere right now I would but again the state of our ins premiums in CA it's not easy to move to another ins provider with the same coverages. I feel stuck & not happy at all! I would never recommend Wawanesa ever again!! Wawanesa do better, train your total loss adjusters to have better customer service skills & to return calls to customers & to do THEIR jobs!!! I don't know how many days I spent on the phone leaving msgs, calling my finance company, calling the adjuster back to be lied to & in the end what I was trying to prevent, happened!! Do not go with Wawanesa!! Btw I was not at fault & had major neck, back & arm Injuries all the while dealing with MD appts, therapy, PTSD from The accident & hiring an attorney due to the other party (at fault) not having enough coverage to pay off my vehicle & then I had to deal with the stress Wawanesa caused me. I was literally in tears daily trying to contact anyone at Wawanesa to help us!! I am thankful to be alive, but not thankful for the stress caused by my own insurance!! Go elsewhere!! Not worth the headache they cause their own insured!
