I took the Warm deep stretch yoga class with Sarah Carlson and it was exactly what i needed for a beginner start Sarah was amazing at relaxing the room, but also describing what positions to do and what our body should feel in a very zen way. Sometimes in the past i felt like i was overwhelmed when trying to listen to the directions of where to put my hands hips feet etc but i was able to truly close my eyes and melt into the forms of the yin flow yoga. Also i really appreciate sarah's cultural respect to the indian roots. I came out of the class feeling like i got a 1 hour massage and hug all in one and just signed up for the other sessions i could with my pass. Might buy a mini pass but want to try the other classes too!

I know I usually do yoga when I'm stressed out, need relief, want to relax and challenge my body to connect with the earth and become more grounded in the here and now. It's a lot to deal with I'm sure for the teachers, and this is true for any yoga studio. Yoga Hive is extra amazing at empathy and empowerment. They challenge you, and you definitely will get in serious yoga shape, but in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. The yoga instructors are really good here, and I mean, REALLY good. The sessions are filled with beginners to advanced dancers who are beyond gorgeous with their postures, and everyone is celebrated. The instructors are top notch-- they support the super beginner to the professional dancer. It's a very diverse and vibrant community, which I just love so much.

Every "body" is welcome here. You don't have to be an expert or be super flexible. Each person does what they can do, and we all still get the full benefits of this awesomely therapeutic practice. The teachers are SUPER nice and knowledgeable!! The temperature is ideal- SO therapeutic. It helps us stretch our muscles and also to purify our bodies. This is a delightful place to practice Bikram. My favorite class is called "wooden pillow" and that's what the equipment is. It is used just about everywhere on your body and stimulates energy and clears meridian Chanels. So lovely to see a non-chain yoga studio. Well designed space with a calming aesthetic. Teachers are friendly, deeply knowledgeable, and great at working around whatever your body is doing that day...whether chronic or not. The instructors here are VERY good. It's almost like you get personal yoga training as the instructors give ample 1:1 attention throughout the class, are welcoming and encouraging. I also really love the space. It's very large and plenty of room to spread out facilitates the use of props since you a lot of space for your supports which are available there. It's not uncommon to have a blanket, bloster, strap, blocks, a thick blanket, and sometimes add a chair and ball, AND use all of them. They really focus on getting circulation flowing everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone from new yogis to people wanting to master more complicated intermediate postures.

The studio itself was very clean and made me feel very peaceful. The instructor was also nice and friendly. It was a late Friday afternoon so there were only two people in class, including myself. The other person was quite experienced but it was my first time practicing Ashtanga. The instructor was very accommodating though and helped both of us with the different moves. Definitely give this place a try if you are looking for a yoga place.

Pattabhi Jois Institute, and teach in accordance with Mysore tradition, but are not overly dogmatic. The community here is great, and students practice at all levels, all ages. A beginner will be given instruction at a level of detail you won't find in typical led classes. More advanced students will be invited to practice what would never be offered in your typical vinyasa class. Due to the nature of Mysore style (practice at your own pace), classes times are much more flexible than led classes, which makes it way easier to stick with a consistent practice. I highly recommend Balance for anyone - newbies, advanced yogis, teachers, young, old, skinny, fat, whatever.
