I chose this studio because they have frequent offerings of the kind of yoga I need -- yoga I can use as a somatic therapy. For me, those are yin yoga (gets into the tendons and ligaments), restorative (deep mindful relaxation), and myofascial release. The atmosphere is very accepting. I really enjoy going here, and it's helping me heal from some trauma. read more

Trying to get back into yoga and discovered PMY through Classpass. Sign up was easy since I did it through the Classpass app. When I arrived, I checked in on their ipad, pretty self explanatory. I honestly never studied the different types of yoga classes, but the one I signed up for was Vinyasa flow. I think the moves are a little bit different with the types of classes but mine was beginner friendly. The instructor was very engaging, friendly and had a great personality. You could tell they were very enthusiastic about teaching. Parking was a little limited and the place was tucked away in a corner which may be hard to find for some people but that doesn't take away from the great atmosphere and studio though. When you go in, it's easy to find everything since the studio isn't that big. It's just one room. One thing I don't believe they offer which I wish they did is hot yoga. This studio is a zenful oasis. I have taken classes here with 4 different instructors. All are very good and welcoming and offer different types of classes. The space is very calming and has such a beautiful energy. I highly recommend the deep stretch and core classes with Ashley. I feel like this place is truly a hidden gem. And Ashley is a highly knowledgeable and intuitive instructor. He also does physical training in his other gym down the street. And, he offers the BEST sports massage which is therapy for anyone with chronic pain or knots. I can't speak enough praises of this studio and all its offerings. read more

If you are looking for a place that feels warm, inclusive, and like a true community, look no further! I've been to a ton of places around town. Notables that I also like are often too far away and have sparse class times. Pure Motion has a fantastic schedule that fits my super over scheduled work life! I've not found a teacher that I consistently connect with yet, but I'm hopeful. I've been attending for a couple of months now, and everyone has been extremely friendly! This place is tucked back by a park. Parking is a bit weird but they told me that it is always a safe bet to park at the park itself. The studio is clean and roomy. Great space to store your stuff while in class. They even have a wine down class on Wednesday evenings and a book club! Pure Motion is a little difficult to get to during rush hour sometimes, but I've never been left out in the cold. This place feels like a yoga home that I could settle in to. read more

Attended a Flow (All Levels) class with Daiva after meetings at Emory. Very convenient to Emory - I left my meeting at 5 p.m. and was at the studio in less than 15 minutes, even with traffic. I found the parking to be a bit unconventional, but didn't have trouble finding a spot. Beautiful studio, great flow class that was cued perfectly for all levels. Really enjoyed my class here! I am not often on this side of town, but will look to practice here when I visit Emory. read more

I love going to Pure Motion Yoga! There's such a community around this studio and they're constantly holding yoga events, such as sound baths and teacher training information sessions. I first started going to this studio when I moved to Atlanta and I've met a few very good friends here and I credit that to the openness of the environment. The teachers at PMY take a lot of pride in their classes and practices but also in establishing relationships with those who attend their classes. My favorite instructor is Catherine. Her classes are wonderful and Catherine has a distinctive style with flow and yin yoga. There's a lot of personality at this studio, but between the friendly patio and the ambiance inside, this is the perfect place for any level of yogis! You'd be hard pressed to find me at any other studio in Atlanta! read more

Pure Motion Yoga gets as many stars as is possible! I have found the perfect yoga experience within the walls of this little studio. It's relatively new and is therefore still a bit of a secret, but should you try, you will see it as a gem of a place tucked away on Zonolite! Pure Motion is truly a heavenly combination of talented teachers, balanced instruction and encouraging attention to an individual quest for betterment. My favorite class is Flow with Hanley Bradfield. She is a truly gracious teacher. Anyone and everyone is welcome to her practice and she will make sure all feel that. The atmosphere is serene and inviting, while the class is invigorating and challenging. Hanley manages all skill levels perfectly and gives attention to each student and direction. I love the concept of the studio and the class offerings. I find the location easy to manage and the class fees very reasonable.
