Food: Turkey Turnover, Pork Chop, egg rolls, ice tea and water totaled $54.54 plus tip. All dishes as described and expected. Portions were on the large side so we had leftovers for a full takeaway meal. The egg rolls were new to us - corned beef dipped in a mustard sauce was an unusual, yet pleasant appetizer. They arrived hot with the interior cheese melted. Good. Side of broccoli was cooked to a soft texture - this is normal in many restaurants, yet I prefer crunchy raw so will ask for that next time. Service: Emily appeared frequently enough so we did not feel neglected. She's obviously experienced as we observed her navigating an increasingly busy clientele. Surprised for being after normal lunch time - 1:00 PM. She seemed to agree with our menu choices by sayiing "Good Choice." on our selections, Ambiance: Decor reminiscent of an Irish pub. It's NOT a college-student hangout by appearances and Emily's description. Surprising given how close this place is to the University. Tables and chairs, and booths appeared clean. Restroom was accessible, clean and well supplied. Mix of background music from Billy Joel to Irish titles. Ample free parking in front lot. Overall, a top rating due to a surprisingly pleasant experience offering unique to Salisbury food and atmosphere. Few notes: 1. Backs of booths are shared. Thus, you can feel neighboring diner shifting seats or leaning back. Like a kid kicking your airplaine seat back behind you, it's a minor irritation IF done once or twice. 2. Female servers need not wear minikilts and shorts to attract business in my opinion. Their uniform, if required, brings into question whether it's a family place. Regular length kilts would add suitable authentic atmosphere IMO. read more

Finally got in on my 3rd try. They recommend reservations and you really should make them because it was filling up at 4:00 on Saturday. Pub Salad (5/5 for $5!) and shepherds pie (4/5) were very good. I'll be back to try other dishes soon. Service was super attentive and even more staff was coming on at 5 for dinner rush. Well run and lots of people seem to be repeat customers. Related to above it is relatively small in terms of seating so ahead and try them out. read more

One of the best restaurants in Salisbury by far! The food is consistent and always fresh. The pretzel burger is incredible, with fresh off the bone ham and a huge hand made burger. Went for Sunday brunch. Was greeted at the door by friendly and polite staff. Service was on point, and prompt. Food was both good, and disappointing - I had ordered the full Irish breakfast and was pleased with quality and quantity. My wife had the "breakfast boxty", which she found displeasing - and I'd agree the potatoes had an odd sticky texture that was very unpleasant. Bloody Mary was disappointing - couldn't even tell that there was any alcohol in it, and it was rather bland tasting. Also, charging over $3 for a generic cup of coffee is a bit high. Let me tell you that thing really is absurdly large, but it was great!! I also ordered fried pickles. Sorry. We have visited a few times over the past few years. They have lost some game. The appearance has slipped a little, but the last two times we went the food was only fair. We did brunch at Easter with the grandkids. Food arrived at different times and was only fair. Today my wife and I stopped for a bite. The fish and chips were ok, but two pieces seeped too little for the price. My wife found a hair in her Reuben. In general it was not worth the $50 we spent. I hope the pick it up. read more

Excellent service, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door with a smile by the hostess. Our server was attentive and friendly, unfortunately I forgot her name, but she came to the table just the right amount... enough to make sure we were satisfied and not too much as to be overbearing. The service (including food runner) was absolutely fantastic. Food was very good especially the pretzel pieces... the mustard sauce with this was so yummy!! My only complaint is that the fried pickles had a lot of batter but that's probably my personal preference and they still tasted good (big hunks of Dill pickles)! We had a create your own burger and a ceasar salad. The burger was cooked perfectly and was HUGE! Had dinner last night at the Irish Penny Pub with a friend. As you walk in the door there was a six piece group playing Irish music. It was at the perfect volume, loud enough to be enjoyed yet still able to hold a conversation. Started with the Boom Boom Shrimp. Not a traditional Irish appetizer but it was perfectly spiced and highly recommended. Had the Corned Beef Boxty as the main course. An awesome combination of corned beef, cabbage,cheese and crispy potato pancake. Delicious and Hugh portion. Had two Guinness poured perfectly. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Salisbury . Not a 'real' Irish pub by any means. Zero Irish staff. Weirdly they only have young female servers, in their early 20's, who wear, barely covering their behinds, kilts. Over the last year their standards have dramatically fallen while their prices have just risen. I had a burger there and barely made it home before I had to strap myself to the toilet. I, also personally have had reports of maggots in a sauce on one of their dishes to which the server didn't even care and a meal frozen in the middle which, when reported was offered 10% off the bill. Last time I was there the so-called Irish Breakfast had zero black or white pudding, the sausage was a Bratwurst and they had no Irish bacon but offered ham instead. I choose American bacon. 2 pieces of toast, not Irish soda bread were $3.99!!! Avoid if you can. read more

Kinda bummed by the outcome. Both my son and i got the Irish burger, the sausage and hamburger patty were charred on both burgers leaving a gross taste in you mouth after every bite. We got the large pretzel which is huge but it wasnt warm at all..it felt like it was made earlier in the morning and set aside. I understand they probably didnt have time to make a fresh one then but atleast keep them warm..the inside was nice and soft though. The cheese sauce was very liquidy like it separated also. We got a kids pizza and only 1/3 of the pizza had sauce and cheese. The Smith cake was fabulous! I wanted to order a cinnamon coffee but they didnt have any cups to go so i couldnt...overall was excited to go and try it but left disappointed. read more

I tried the vegetable boxty - a gigantic potato pancake with mozzarella cheese and grilled vegetables. A little greasy, but really delicious (couldn't finish it).
